  1. this tv wa on it's way to getting 5 stars, but after less than 2 months it turned off, and wouldn't stay on after for not even a second. it would just turn back off. i returned it with no problems, but i lost the dvd that was stuck inside and wouldn't come out. i was mostly dissapponted becuase i loved the tv, but if it's not going to work, then what else can i say?

  2. Purchased my unit on 13 March 2006; great TV and beautiful HD picture quality. I prefer watching movies and sports on this unit rather than our Toshiba HDTV 51". I look forward to opening my PS3 on Christmas (the Wife is making me wait because of our kids) and connecting to the HDMI, watching HD DVD movies and playing games in 720p or 1081i. For the price and size, it's ideal for us.

  3. So far, so good. I set this up today - it was exceptionally easy to get going quickly. Still haven't figured out how to make the remote sync w/the cable remote so it changes the cable channels for the tv, but apart from that, it does what it says it can.

  4. I thought the quality would meet the one found in Sony's Trinitron, but hell the standard definition for this small size looks WAY BETTER. The convergence is bad and unsettable, and overall picture is washed and overforced. If they think that is what consumers want, I'd rather declare them insane and buy a cheaper but a better and more natural product than this one.

  5. I love this tv, but I would like to add more speakers. I am thinking wireless. Is there something I can use for this kind of tv?

  1. Update: I had previously written a very critical review of Samsung's 61 inch TV and the terrible customer service I received from Samsung. Because of a technical glitch, I couldn't post that original review on the right size Samsung product. While you may find my review interesting if you are considering buying a Samsung DLP TV of any kind, I have moved the review to associate it with the actual size TV I purchased.

My review can be found easily if you search for it using Google or Amazon's search functionality.

  2. After reading the negative review here, I had to post my own comments. While I cannot comment on Samsung's customer service (I have not yet had to contact them), I can say that this TV looks fantastic and has an incredible HD picture. I was very close to buying the Mitsubishi HD DLP that is of comparable size, but this TV has a much better picture.

  1. For all those of you who got their cancelation notice email etc. Why dont you sue, i am sure youll get what you want, and more. But you must show the original purchase price in print, along with the cancelation email. An incident just like this has occured with airlines who advertise a wrong price and cancel, the end result is the customer wins. Why because it is mal representation and dis honor of the consumer market relations policy. There are laws that protect you against this, why dont you use them.

  2. After buying one of these and trying it, I bought another I liked it so much. Great picture with respect to color, clarity and scope of viewing angle. Good surround-type sound without home theater equipment for moderate size rooms. Easy set-up and good size for many conventional home locations with largish screen. Many connection options -- all around excellent.

  3. The TV performance is great. Unfortunately the designers chose to put a bright blue light around the power button that bathes the room in neon blue whenever the TV is off. Their tech service staff agrees it in not aesthetic, but has no suggestions of how to disable it. Mine is in a cabinet, but if you choose to hang it on the wall, be aware that your room will have a bright blue light shining from the TV--a tacky addition to the wall decor.

  4. This used to be the top of the line Samsung but now has been replaced by a new line. As you can expect prices have come down accordingly and depending on the merchant you should be able to get this for around $2000. At that price it's great opportunity.
The alternatives are the LNS4092D which has seemingly better specs higher dyanmic contrast and s-pva which gives a slightly wider viewing angle as well as a brighter Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp. Don't be fooled. Check it out in person if you can. I found it it be more garish and glitchy on diagonals than the older model. Now who knows that may be because the store didn't have the settings right which can make an enormous difference. The other logical comparison is the Samsung LNS4041D 40, which also has similar specs but which is listed as an entry level Samsung for a good price. Again check it out first.

Aesthetically this is a great model and image quality is breathtaking when you hook dvd up with component cables. Another point. The internal tuner is superb. After getting only a few channels from my standalone Samsung tuner I did not have high hopes. It found an incredible number channels under terrible reception conditions.

I will try and comeback and update this review after using it for a few weeks to see if I find any glaring problems but so far so good.

  5. This T.V. is very nice. However, it is not for the bedroom. The blue neon light is very annoying at night (and, too much light while you're sleeping is actually unhealthy.)CNET tells you the blue light can be disabled, but it's only temporary. When the set is turned on again, it goes into a default "on" position. This happens with both "off" and "only while watching" settings. We would have gone with another brand of t.v. if we knew about this ahead of time.

  1. This was the perfect TV for our needs: It fits the space, is economical, has great picture size and quality, and lots of features. It is a good blend of current digital and CRT technology. Not an LCD and bulky as they come, but once in place it delivers a quality viewing experience.

  2. I had a 31" Hitachi TV for 12 years and the tube began going out. I considered a plasma TV but for the money, I decided to stick with a replacement for my old TV, one that would fit in the same cabinet. What a great picture! And to my surprise, with cheap old-school rabbit ears, I'm able to tune in HD channels in my area. The sound is great as well. I shopped around, and for a little over $400, you can't beat this set. Don't be fooled by some of the CRT TVs with the the large plastic "speakers" on the sides. If you look closely, the actual speaker size is not very big on those, and the sound is no better than this set.

  3. 1st off way to go Amazon! I received it 10 days before the estimated ETA. I got it in about a week with the free shipping.
The picture is great for a tube, top of the line. The only complaint is that you have to aim any remote DIRECTLY at the power on light for it to work.

  4. If you're looking for something to:
a)fit in a cabinet too small for a decent size widescreen.
b)be "future-proof" w/ built in HD tuner (even though NOT HD tube).
c)hold you over during TV technology shake out and price drops for a couple of years.
....then I guess this TV is good enough. The picture is just okay. I had a 15 yr old JVC w/ a better picture. The tuner is sooo slow. You better know what you want to watch because ch. surfing on this baby is painful. But for 480 bucks it'll due ok for a couple of years.... then it's off to the bonus room w/ the kiddies for this unit.

  5. I ordered this through Etronics. When I got it I didn't notice it at first but soon realized that they had sent a 32D46 which is identical to this model except that the screen is not flat.

I checked Etronics web site and they list the 32D46 at the price advertized here and they list the 32DF46 at $499.

What I don't know is whether Etronics being listed here selling this model is an honest mistake or an intentional deception but it was no mistake on Etronics part! The packing slip clearly showed that they had crossed out the 32DF46 and replaced it with the 32D46! What was *REALLY* irritating is that they didn't even bother to notify me of the change before shipping it, if they had I probably would have canceled the order.

Now if I want to get what I ordered, I'd have to ship it back to them probably at my expense plus pay the difference in price and then probably the cost of shipping the correct model to me. In all an extra $220 in shipping charges plus I'd be without a TV while waiting for delivery of the correct model.

With all that in mind, I'll likely just keep it despite that it isn't what I ordered. But I will make sure Etronics and Amazon know my feelings about this mis-listing and my disappointment at not getting what I had ordered.

The bottom line is. If you *really* want the flat screen 32DF46, DO NOT buy from Etronics! You won't get it!

This is a great TV though, other reviewers are right that the tuner is slow, but that doesn't bother me since I'm not a channel surfer anyway, when I sit down to watch TV it's to watch a specific show or a DVD.

Don't know what other people see wrong with the picture, some have said the colors were weak. I actually had to turn down the color a little. No weakness here!

I love the digital reception capability! I can't pickup analog signals too well but the digital signals come in extremely well. Using just a bare wire attached to a coax cable I could pull in most of the local stations, imagine what a proper antenna will do! Once I have that set up and receiving all the local stations which is all I'm interested in, the cable is history!

I also like the Stable Sound feature, it's really annoying when you're watching TV and a commercial come on and blasts you into next week. Doesn't happen with Stable Sound, the volume stays where you set it. Very nice feature Toshiba!

Over all I'm very pleased with this TV, just wish it was the flat screen model I had ordered.

  1. Very nice equipment ,good quality , and good power !!!!!!

  1. I got one for Christmas and hooked it up when I got home. The picture on my xbox 360 in 720p mode is beyond terrible, pixels are huge, it's got this weird jaggy thing it does on edges... It's really really awful. I don't know how it fares on dvds because it doesn't support the xbox dvd player in progressive scan mode. I was looking forward to my first hd tv and boy is this disappointing, I'm going to attempt to return it, and if they don't take it back It's going in the closet.

  2. The white truly looks great with the TV on or off. Surprising according to some who have seen the TV, the white case actually improves the viewing experience (in my case my daughter room is all white its fit on a front of a white wall).

  3. This is a TV for the design geeks. It's beautiful, glossy white (not unlike the ipod), clean minimalist design is featured in Wallpaper magazine and is just stunning. I got it for #1) design, #2) name brand/quality, #3) small size. 23" is perfect for my tiny NYC studio apartment.

Is it loaded with features? yes, but probably not enough for the uber-technophile. I shopped this tv around to my technogeek friends who ultimately said, "it's a good tv, but only if you use it to mainly watch tv." If you're a gamer or want a bigger screen for the money, then this tv is not for you. The picture is good enough for me; i can tell the difference between HD and non-HD; but for now, even though HD is possible on this tv (you just subscribe and it will adjust to the HD feed), i chose not to have it and the picture's still good. uber-sharp? no, but it's good enough.

  4. what attractd me to this lcd set was the white ipod like finish. it is one of the most beautiful tv's i have ever seen. the clarity is crisp. it is versatile in that it can be used as a computer monitor as well. it has a standard base that can also be used as a wall mount. it was a tad more expensive than other 23" lcd's on the market, but i purchased the tv for my bedroom and i wanted something nice to look at.

  5. the good-
this tv ive had for a while now and the good part is that i bought it for $300 dollars off amazon sub-shops and now the price has sky rocket thank god i got mines in 2007 april.............
so ive had this tv for a while and direct to the point the tv is a must have for bedrooms its a nice 23 inch screen that it appears bigger cause of the design. Its nice smooth pearl white im talking about its eye candy the people love it thats the first thing they ask me when they go in my room where did i get the TV.
next its a pc screen you can hook your computer up on it and the resolution is awesome you cant ask for better it has at least 3 inputs HDMI input and some other inputs, im talking about its loaded with type of inputs i even hooked up my ipod to it using ipod video cables and the picture is good to say.
the remote is awesome it has everything you need for the tv its nice and smooth and pearl white...................
the tv is awesome for video gaming i mean the picture quality is awesome it makes my ps2 look like a ps3 thats how good it is with video game systems.
And now the bad part the sad part............................
This is an american tv only use for the united states of america why? I found out the hard way///////////////////////):
i am a contracter in camp bagram working here and so i bought this tv thinking yeah i scored big time while everyone else had a cheesy tv that was not flat like mines and cool looking and not name brand that you cant even hook up a computer to it cause they bought it from the on-base military stores called the PX/BX like the only one on camp bagram.
So finally my bad day came when i figered out why mY tv was not able to get any channels AND EVEYONE ELSE DID ):provideed here for americans to watch local channnels in the us courtesy of the military(AFN).
THIS TV IS NTCS SYSTEM (AMERICAN FREQUENCY) AND HERE IN AFGHANISTAN CAMP BAGRAM THE ONLY SYSTEM IS PAL (EUROPEAN FREQUENCT). SO MY AWESOME TV WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE CHANNELS EVERYONE ELSE HAD, SO I BEEN HERE SUCKING IT UP WITH OUT CABLE TV OUT OF ALL THE PLACES WHY????????HEY BUT AT LEAST I HAVE A GOOD PC MONITER AND DVD SCREEN AND AWESOME TV FOR DVD PLAYER SO PRETTY MUCH THATS WHY I GIVE IT 4 STARS INSTEAD OF 5, SAMSUNG WHY CANT YOU BE BOTH NTCS AND PAL SYSTEM .................OH WELL BE WARNED ONLY FOR AMERICAN USE TV.........................

  1. I bought this projector to use with a new laptop that has Windows Vista as the operating system and cannot use it because there are no drivers for Vista!! This is very frustrating, and I say - Caveat Emptor! Buyer Beware! Viewsonic doesn't have any information on when they will have the drivers, so right now, I'm dead in the water.
