- I have this TV and I am very happy with it. It has a very nice, bright, crisp picture. It has TRUE 1080 - be careful when looking at sets. 1366 X 728 pixels is 720P HD. 1920 x 1080 is full 1080i/p HD. Often times sellers give the pixels and then say the TV takes 1080i input - this does not mean it can display all those pixels though! Check the pixels if you want 1080, it should have 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has lots of inputs including 2 HDMI (3 would be nicer but many TVs just come with 1).
Now, this is not the most full-featured model and you may be able to find more features for your money. It does not have picture-in-picture (bummer). The menus are navigable, but sparse and somewhat awkward (but not too bad). The automatic format detection is a bit buggy - it may try to automatically change the aspect ratio during the middle of shows and movies and that can be annoying. You just need to manually set the TV to Widescreen in this case.
Overall, I am very happy with the set.
- When I first got this tv I was amazed at how I got such a good deal. The picture quality is excellent and the price was great. After about 3 months it started having problems. It started taking longer and longer for the tv to turn on. Now it takes about 10 to 15 min to turn on. Also after 6 months it is starting to have trouble with the ATSC/Qam tuner. HD channels are starting to go blank. I wish I could return it but now I am stuck with it.
Thanks Magnavox.
- We had the TV about 3 months before the pic just screwed up...you couldn't watch it at all. Trying to get it fixed was the worst! You can't just take it back; they find a certified TV repair person in your city (which took a month), the repair people called and made an appt for 1 1/2 weeks out. They finally come find the problem, order the part (took 2 weeks) , make another appt(one week later) and come replace the bad part. Worked fine for another 2 months but has started the whole process all over again. When it works, great picture. All in all, we lost about 2 months of viewing waiting on for the run-around to come full circle!
- It took a software update to make this tv perform correctly. previously, the only time i was happy with the picture quality was for a fraction of a second when switching between the menu and normal viewing. for some reason, just exactly then, the picture became GREAT.
fiddling with brightness and tint and contrast, etc, only generates slight changes in screen appearance.
we touched the screen with bare fingers when we installed it, and seem to be cursed with an eternal unerasable smudge.
seriously: no proctective, cleanable barrier between the lcd and the world?
we have yet to get any hdtv equipment. no telling how things might improve
- i've had this tv for almost a year now. it looks great with my verizon fios hd service. i havent had any problems with it, so i dont what others are talking about. good bang for the buck

2 comments about Sony 46" Widescreen HDTV Monitor (KP-46WT510).
- I bought this Sony 46 inch widescreen Projection TV, KP-46WT510 less than 2 years ago, as of this writing, at Circuit City. I've been pleased with the functionality - 4 options for widescreen / fullscreen mode, plenty of inputs for DVD, VCR, Laser, Satellite, etc. - and the picture quality. However, the convergence board went out last week, in less than two years. This means the picture is warped at the edges and the colors spread out into a double image, making it useless for movies on DVD, though you can still watch and hear the sound. Our old TV lasted about 10 years before that happened. What's more, I paid $400 for the 4-year full service plan. I called the number of the service plan and they gave me the usual run-around and finally someone said they would send servicemen within 3 business days. Three business days later - 5 actual days later - the serviceman called and it turned out he's in a different state and can't come here. I called the service number again and was told they'd reschedule. After three weeks the TV that wore out in less than two years still hadn't been serviced. Finally I was told no repair shop in Colorado can fix Sony's, and was offered and exchange, but equivalent size TVs are now more expensive and I had to pay the difference. So I decided to upgrade to a plasma at considerable extra cost, and got a Zenith Z50PX2D - I'll review that after using it a few weeks.
- I bought this Sony KP-46WT510 in March 2004. I definitely enjoy this TV. It's easy to use, great image quality, good price for a sony. Everyone calls my living room "the movie theather.

5 comments about Real Digital RD2200 22-Inch 16:9 LCD Flat-Panel TV with Speakers.
- I have bought 1-Samsung,1-NEC, 1-DELL and 1 Samsung TV/LCD monitor + 2 HDTV in my house. This RD2200 is the worst one. When you connect to computer output. You can not even read any thing on monitor. It blur out even at 1280x1024. It take a while to switch from one signal to the other. I do have digital TV signal from Direct TV. Picture for TV output is not as clear as other TV I have (Samsung TV/LCD). This one I got may be defective one. I test only one. Beside picture quality I still will not buy it due to time delay when switching from one mode to other. Much better spent money somewhere. Other people who bought may never connect to PC to see or have only analog cable TV and think it was signal problem from cable. It is not so. This is the first time I ever give bad comments on any products. Be careful.
- What a junk LCD TV the RD2200 is. Connect to PC gives you terrible output. Connect to TV, cable, digital, isn't impressed either. Where is the support when you have question or need help ? There is no where to be found - help yourself ! My regular monitor is even giving a better result for output. I don't understand how they can produce this piece of junk to sell. I RETURNED IT right away after trying it out of box. Not worth even $50 to own this one.
- I have this panel. I bought it because I wanted a TV in the bedroom and had limited space and money. I really wanted HDTV but from 6 feet away only videophiles could obviously tell the difference between EDTV and HDTV. SO I took the plunge and bought this. The rebate came quickly and yes there is NO technical support here. You are on your own. Also the warranty is serviced by AMAZON. The CR was shocked when I told her she was the one to help me. She laughed..but on with the story. I have this paired with a Samsung HDTV Directv receiver. I have my Directv TIVO and DVD player plugged into the SAMMY and then they all get connected to the LCD using DVI. The HDTV picture is fantastic and the TIVO is superior to the SVIDEO connection I used to use. The DVD is crisp and clear using 480P. The bottom line is that if you pair this with a a good video receiver you will be happy with this low cost LCD panel. And yes..don't even think of trying this as a computer monitor...It is awful!
- Bought this monitor about 6 months ago and im really happy with it. I got a great price off this website. I use it with windows media center and when i hooked it up and ran the media center part it looked great but everything else like the windows desktop looked really grainy almost unreadable. After searching for a monitor driver because it simply installs "plug and play monitor i came up empty handed, nothing to be found" I figured out what you need to do is download a program called powerstrip, that allows you to tweak your settings to better suit this monitor. Using a page towards the back of the users manual that lists the monitors opimal frequency settings that cant be met using simply windows. After putting these settings into this program that runs at startup my desktop looks 5 times better than what it looks like when just plugging it in. Enjoy this great monitor
- We bought 2 of these Real Digital monitors for my Mac G5 dual-monitor editing system at work. The resolution on them is absolutely horrible. At the end of each day I feel like I'm about to go blind. On the higher resolution settings, you cannot read the type because the pixels bleed together. On the lower resolution settings, the aliasing and jagged edges harken back to the days of Mac Classic. If you are considering buying this particular monitor for use with a computer, you'd be better off throwing your money out the window. We decided to return them and spring for Mac-brand flat-panel monitors. The difference is astonishing.

- I bought this TV just over a year ago because out of about 40 televisions on display, this one had absolutely the best picture quality of anything in the store. For picture clarity, color and display, I give this TV 5 stars. However, after only about 9 months, we started having minor problems, such as, when the TV was turned off, the picture went off first and then the sound about 15 seconds later. We didn't think much of it until the TV was about 11 months old and one morning it was "stuck". You could watch the TV, and even change channels with the Satellite dish, but the remote didn't work and the volume couldn't be adjusted nor could you change the mode (ie. to put it into video mode to watch movies). We brought it to a TV repair shop and they said that the "brain" was not working. The part was still under warranty, but the repair shop was very reluctant to work on the ILO because they said that ILO is VERY slow at reimbursing for parts under warranty. I spent about $85 on the repair (labor only - not too bad). Another minor drawback is that you cannot synchronize this TV with your cable/satellite remote (so that you can just use one remote) because ILO is too new and it is not recognized by the sattelite company's remote (DirecTV). Anyhow, it is not surprising that, in a time where cell phones and other electronic devices only last a year or two, that this is a pretty common problem. All in all, this is a great tv if you are fortunate enough to get one that lasts.
- I gave this the lowest rating possible, you just have to do an internet search and see why. This was given to me as a Christmas gift in 2007, bought from Walmart ($700), less than 6 months, I noticed distortion of the picture in upper left hand corner. So, I went on the web looking for causes/problems. Did I ever get a wake up. Warranty not covering, I thought I will make the best of it, my problem was minor compared to others. Well today, turned tv on, heck of a racket after a few minutes, picture is all distorted and tv shuts off. Completely waste of money, Amazon take note of this!!!

- I saw the same TV at Best Buy and was happy when I came to Amazon and could buy it for over $600 less. When people come over they think that it is a $5,000 HD-Ready TV.
We are very happy with the size and the value! It is very fun watching DVD's on and the picture looks great!
- I had the unique (yet torturous) pleasure of accompianing my friend to Best Buy where he purchased this tv about a year ago. I have used it countless times since then, and in my opinion it is the finest non-plasma television I have seen.
The screen is absolutely humungous--you don't know 60 inches until you've seen it in person! The tiny picture here does not do justice to this behemoth. I hope to purchase this television for myself later this year, and I know I will enjoy it as much as I did the first time I saw it in the store. I just hope it will fit through my door!
- Where do I start! I bought this T.V. in december of 2003 for a family christmas present and it lasted 2 weeks before I lost the picture. I called the store and they replaced the t.v. which I thought was very nice but the screen had numerous scratches right out of the box. The manager saw them and said he would fax the order to get it fixed. A month later, a repairperson came to my house but he had the part to fix the picture and not the scratches. He had no knowledge of the scratches but he would place the order to get it fixed.
April rolled around and I lost the picture again on the new tv. I was a little discouraged considering this was not some 100.00 t.v. from Walmart, I paid a lot money for a television that was just not lasting, this was two t.v.'s in four months. I called Phillip's, thankfully I still had a warranty, but I found out they had closed there repair centers. They had a local repair shop come get the t.v. and I asked the Phillips rep. if they got the new screen yet. Now comes the battle!!! Phillips said they would repair the t.v. but not the screen because they said they never recieved the order. The screens were only on warranty for 30 days and it was 3 months later. I explained to the phillips repair rep. that the store I bought it from faxed the order the same day. She told me that they closed their centers, here in florida, around that time so they do not have that information. Somehow this is my fault and I was told to call there customer service line. I called the number and I was told it was not their problem. I asked to speak to a supervisor, they refused to do it, then I asked for the number to Phillips headquarters which I found out does not exist but I could write a letter to them(still have not heard back from them) keep in mind this is the CUSTOMER SERVICE line. The customer service is based out of the carribean somewhere, I paid a couple thousand dollars for a t.v., had 2 different t.v.'s that could not last 5 months and Phillip's refused to help me. The end result was I got the t.v. back a month and a half later, turns out it was a manufactures defect, the screen was fixed by the store that I bought the t.v. from because they could not get to Phillips either. It was the most frustrating time I have ever had and now I am going to purchase the extended warranty as I do not trust this t.v. It is a great t.v. when it works, but I also have a Toshiba big screen that is not HDTV and in four years time I have never had a problem. So in closing I should caution"BUYER BEWARE"
- I recently purchased the television and have been very pleased by its performance. A direct cable connection works fine but the picture suffers. A progressive scan DVD works good and brings in a nice and sharp 480i picture. However, this philips shines when connected to an High Def. box. The picture is so real i feel like im looking out my window at action in the yard. My small son 3 years old went over to the tv trying to touch the Moose on the screen as it looked real. Its a great tv and the best per inch buy out there right now. I also own a sony 50" lcd HDTV and belive it or not the philips working from an HD box or Progressive scan dvd player beats the sony with a similar hook up. Wish i had found this first and saved the 3,400$ for the sony LCD, ive been watching this while the sony sits turned off in the corner.....
