5 comments about Phlilips PM335 3 + 2 Device Big Button Universal Remote Control.

1. I have been using this remote for a couple of years now, and it has done it's job. The setup was straightforward and painless, and the remote was able to recognize TV's, VCR's and DVD players (a mix of 4 year old to brand new model electronics). HOWEVER, some buttons are really unresponsive. In particular, my CHANNEL DOWN button essentially doesn't work. You'd have to push the button over and over and over and wiggle it around before the TV would maybe change a channel. Other buttons are the same way. I'd say about 90% of the buttons work fine. However, I'm sick of having to wiggle buttons around (which is why I am currently surfing Amazon to buy a new remote control). Not sure if the dysfunctional buttons are the case for all the remotes, but the problems are very real on mine. Spend a couple more bucks and get a better remote, in my humble opinion.



2. We are really happy with this remote. It works perfectly with Star Choice. It has been reliable and tough (we have several small children). It was the cheapest yet best universal remote we have purchased yet.



3. The Philips Magnavox name is well-known for good products, but this isn't one of them! The remote is easy to program and the light up feature makes channel surfing in the dark a breeze. However, I have only had my remote for six months and it already doesn't work. I found that the channel +/- keys and volume keys were not responding when I pressed them. I have found that this is a common problem with universal remotes as I have tried three or four different brands. I also have to reprogram the control a lot. For some reason, if it isn't used in a while, it loses the code that was programmed. I also didn't like that the power button was right below the channel down button - I often would turn the TV off by mistake when I just wanted to go back a channel! Spend a little more and order a new remote from the company who made your TV. It will save you a lot of hassle and money in the end!



4. I went through about 3 of these in a year and a half. These are cheap and work pretty well, but they don't last very long.



5. Not as described- the keys do NOT glow. Otherwise it is a neat, inexpensive, effective, 3 item programable remote. Has all the features of original remote and more. Easy to set up. The picture is correct, just the part about the keys is off. Who needs'em anyway? Fast service on this seller also.

1. 2 complaints: first, this thing comes in one of those plastic cases that are nearly impossible to open without cutting yourself...only to find out when you DO open it, you've cut through the instructions book.
   
   Second, it lists many brands that it supports on the back of the package (in our case CyberHome) that are really NOT supported (upon looking through our newly taped together instructions manual, CyberHome is not listed where they give the codes)! So then we used their alternate method for finding codes not listed. Didnt work. So dont trust their claims that this thing has a huge code library. Obviously it doesnt, and obviously they have no problem with false advertising...who knows what else they claim this thing will do, but it doesnt? So dont let your team spirit get in the way of a getting something that actually will work for you!



2. This remote has all the options I need to operate my TV, DVD player and cable box. It was very easy to set up all my devices. Buttons are easy to see and use. And of course I love the fact that it has the University of Tennessee colors and logo! After I got this one for myself, I reorder 2 more for gifts and they love theirs also!

1. 0. This is a very good Karaoke system - compact and easy to use. Ability to change the pitch and tempo independently is a great feature. All you need is a TV and you are good to go! If you don't need to see the lyrics you may, optionally, use just need an audio system.
   1. Songs are pre-built into cartridges - Currently, it is hard to order a mix-n-match of your songs selection.
   2. Songs are pre-sorted on title - navigating thru the artist, album names, etc could be pain.
   3. This wireless mic works in conjunction with the main one(wired) and not in-lieu-of - meanings this mic has to be used along with the wired main mic.
   4. This is a fast evolving technology - available products, options and pricing in the market may change frequently.

1. Our TV will not come on via the TV timer. This product has no problem in doing it for us. Our bedroom TV now wakes us every morning. It was no problem to configure it to control the TV.



2. This is the best! When I purchased my TV, I didn't realize it didn't have an alarm. I searched the web and found this product and it met all my expectations. As you get older, the music, buzzing of an alarm annoy me. Now I wake up to GMA and very peaceful!

1. As the product itself, it turned out to be not that bad, except even with the extended function it doesn't work beyond 200-300 feet (all installation 'by the book, re-checked), and you may forget about promissed 800!
   But this is not the worst part. The biggest problem is to get any ansers from their technical support. They are repeatedly ignoring any requests, starting from the regular customer service representatives and ending with the customer support manager, who, probably, has bigger problems than supervising his department.
   So, I strongly recommend to consider other suppliers of these systems. I'm sure it will be much better option!
