- This is awesome! My 19 yr old has not taken them off her ears since I gave them for her. Between her IPOD and the PC -- she's in heaven! Needless to say, I don't have to hear some of the music she chooses. Great Idea!!!!
- Was very excited to receive this product for my husband as he has a lot of acres to mow and could enjoy this comfortable headset without wires. Adjustable head piece and soft padded ear covers are nice. Only problem...Nano didn't fit in it. I know that the new nanos are wider this year and this must be made for the newer nano style. Our narrower style would not fit properly in the connector. So, it was either return it and pay as much for shipping as the item cost, or use the connector cable sent with it. It serves its purpose, but just not as handy now. Be careful to ensure when it says "made for iPod nano" which version of the ipod nano it fits. If that's not the problem then I guess ours was defective.
- These headphones are awesome! I have had them for a couple of months now, and I use them daily.
They will make you stand out more than the standard white iPod set, so careful about buying these if you're shy and intend to wear them outside. In fact, if you are a woman, you'll look a little like Princess Leia. Many friendly people have stopped me on the street to ask what it is that I have on my head (and where they can buy it).
They double as earmuffs, and will keep you warmer in the winter than most hats.
The sound quality is very good, so is the volume range. In fact, I could never listen to my audiobooks on the subway before, because it was too noisy, but with these I rarely have any problems.
This is one of the little things that can really improve the quality of your commute, especially if you commute a lot, and find it inconvenient to have to play around with the cords whenever you want to take off your jacket.
It's good stuff. Now I'm looking for a set that I could use in my shower.
--- Careful: These only work with 1st generation iPod Nano ---
- I couldn't tell from the description what generation Nano would fit. The picture looked like Gen3, which I have, but when it arrived it was the original, smaller size. I returned the headset.
- I think in theory this was a great product. Unfortunately, the prong which connects the headset to the iPod wasn't exactly in the right spot to connect. I had to modify it using the extra cord and clip the ipod in it's case to the earpiece and then hide the wire inside where the ipod was supposed to go.
I bought this for my handicapped daughter (who has a problem with all the regular speaker cords that come with the ipods and tends to break them on a regular basis) and thought this would be a perfect solution.
Too bad the speaker prong didn't line up with her iPod!

- The earphones are being used by my grandson because he puts the sound on
the computer louder than the TV which is in the same room. We always had
to tell him to turn down the volume. I could not find any headphones that
had volume control in any of our stores. These headphones are great!!
They are comfortable and the volume could be set easily. We are very happy to be able to hear the TV!! The price was very reasonable and the package was well packed and received sooner than I expected!!
- I tried to use these last weekend while I was gardening. The moment I looked down they fell off. I adjusted them often, but they just would not stay on my ears forlong. They were not expensive and I guess you get what you pay for.
- The headpones arrived very soon after I ordered them. The are a beautiful metallic red that matches my new red MP3 player. They fold, which is really neat for storing them. They sound fine to me. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. My only concern is with the cord. It's pretty thin and I hope it dosen't weaken and short-out.

- Recieved these today (1/5/2008). Just a note to say they work fine in a 2005 Town & Country minivan with factory installed DVD. Seems to be everything they are advertised to be.
- I bought these headphones to replace two sets of the same make and model. They fit my 5 and 6 year old very well, they are easy to adjust the volume. The two sets I was replacing have made it through two vehicles and they finally had been stepped on and broken but they still worked if you put them on
- These fit my 3 & 6 year old's heads, but they shut off at certain angles. If I hand it back to my daughter, it shuts off. It may have been just a quirk with ours, but I sold the van a few weeks ago and I have no need to figure it out. They did turn themselves off after a perid of time which saved the batteries. And they were very comfortable for my daughters. It was almost like a short in the wiring that shut them off if you moved your head wrong. Very annoying for a 3 year old. She just took them off & watched the movie without sound.
- Got these to replace some of the highly unreliable Toyota headphones in my 2005 Toyota Sienna. They are better built and work flawlessly - even from the front seat. By the way, the picture does not match the product. The set I received has round ear covers that are more like leather-coverd donuts as opposed to the solid oval foam depicted in the picture. Frankly, I like what I received better. Curiously, the set in the picture look like the Toyota factory set. These fit even my 3-year old snugly and they have lots of expansion room.
- I bought two sets hoping that they would work with my 2008 Honda Odyssey. They work great. Good quality and a real bargin. Automatic shut off if left idle is a good battery saving feature.

- I bought the Skullcandy earbuds (in gray) for my iPhone, to replace the awful ones included with the phone, and am thrilled with the sound, quality and really everything about them. Highly recommend!
- Bought these on impulse. I was already using a pair of Sony Fontopia MDR EX71s, but thought these looked cool. After using them the first time, the phones went back in the carrying case and didn't come out until about a year later when my Fontopias broke and I needed a quick replacement for the gym. The mids/highs are flat and splashy, and bass is sub-par when compared to Sony or Sennheiser. The cord is a little too rubbery, to the point that it clings to anything and everything that touches it...very frustrating if you're exercising with them. Came with three sizes of buds, none of which felt comfortable in the ear canal. The carrying case and skull sticker are nice, that's about it.

- I purchased these headphones after much contemplation and review because of the sound quality they promised especially enhanced bass response. I was not disappointed. The bass response is huge! The highs are great but a bit too much in the background but not muffled. The fit was a bit tricky at first but included is a number of different types of replaceable tips which I finally got the best fit with the double silicone ones.
That's the positives. The negatives are the headphone construction is not very durable and doesn't stand up to more rigorous applications such as workouts at the gym (my primary usage) and outdoor activities such as hiking where conditions are not ideal. I have owned these headphones for about a year now and the connection point of the wire to the headphone comes loose (breaks) and has done so three times. I sent the first pair back and UE replaced it no problem after the right side broke but it soon broke again and I used epoxy to reattach it. Now the left side has broken and once again I'm in the role of repairman. Terrible! The last problem I have found is the type of wire used in these headphones. It is rather stiff and retains its coiled shape causing me to bend and work the coils out of it just prior to putting them on. Also, the wire itself as it is visible thru the insulation is starting to discolor, showing signs of corrosion. The sound quality has not noticeably diminished however it leads one to the conclusion that the wiring is not sealed well indicating further lack of thought in its construction. Other headphones I own have flexible wiring and seem to handle daily usage much better and don't have this coiling problem.
Overall, I would not recommend these headphones to anyone who plan on using them for working out or any other applications where they might be exposed to less than perfect conditions.
- Ultimate Ears is a company that will take care of you. I had the headphones for almost two years before problems arose. The wire that hooked into my mp3 player was frayed and my music sounded washed out. I called the company, immediately talked to a human being, and within 3 minutes had a free replacement wire on its way to me (you can easily replace the wire attached to the earbuds). In fact, the customer service representative even apologized to me that the quickest they could get the free replacement to me was within 3 days (I live on the opposite coast)! I didn't need a receipt or serial number--how much easier can it be? Amazing customer service that has made a customer for life.
I love listening to hip hop and electronica (house, ambient), and these headphones allow you to really enjoy bass far beyond any earbuds I've ever used. Sure, it won't be as if you were in a club, but you will not get any closer with any other earbuds. The sound is great, a huge improvement over the mediocre headphones that come with almost every mp3 player. Also, because these stick in your ear, you can listen to a lower volume than you used to and still hear the music, which really saves our fragile eardrums. One warning: these headphones are very big, and it will take time to get used to them sticking out of your ear, but after a few days, you won't notice any difference.
- Ok! There are two very important instances that these headphones come into question. One is, if on a tredmill at the gym, the headphones keep
falling out of ears and 2 they stick out of my ear too much, so getting comfy lets say with you head on the left or right side on a pillow is out of the question! The resaon I gave them 4 stars in the sound quiity
is very good. The base is rich and tight and the highs are very clear
which, in my opinion, at least in the sound department makes the Ultimate Ears Super.fi EBs a very well-balaned set of ear-phones.
- To put it simply, these were the most disappointing monitors I've ever had the displeasure of owning. That might be a bit harsh. The highs were very good, and the bass (when you finally, miraculously got the position right) was good, but not the best.
My main gripe is the overall package. These are far too big, and the adjustable wire cut into the tops of my ears. But they are ridiculously big.
I thought my Grado's and Stax SR-001 MKII were uncomfortable (you can get used to the Stax after a week) the 5EB's took 'uncomfortable to another level.
And because of the weight they slipped out of position far too easily, even with the cheese wire they use for the over the ear support!
The biggest problem is that midrange which was (I had to get rid of them) very out of sync with the treble and bass. It was far too unpredictable. With one song the singer was two miles away, with the backing vocals screaming down your ear, with the next track the singer was screaming down your ears and the backing vocals were two miles away, and you can't predict with the next song, which it was going to be.
Don't get me wrong; I love my UE's..... I have 3 pairs of them, but my favourites still remains the Metro.fi 2, which kicks.
As for the 5EB's a very bitter experience, and a bitter disappointment.
Dreadful, truly dreadful.
I'll give them two stars because the bass and treble were good, but the overall package wasn't what i expected for money i spent on them
- these things look wierd but they work well-function over form I guess. They are comfortable-if you chew when they are in your ears there is a little noise generated but it is nominal....

- I ordered six of these to use in my first grade classroom. They are much easier for small hands to manipulate than the usual headphones issued by the school district. I think what I like best about them is how easy they are for the children to adjust. The size is relatively petite, although I can place them on my head without a problem. The district headphones have sliders on either side which can easily slide down during use, causing students to complain (to me, of course!) about the headphone slipping, or not fitting. The Califone's adjustment is integrated in the piece which fits on the head. The cushion over the ear is better quality too. Very comfortable fit. My only hesitation about them is the fragility of the cord. The district headphones are thicker and can take abuse. The Califones have a thinner cord: children need to be shown how to properly plug and unplug them and warned not to pull on the line or to tangle it. Kids appreciate quality too! Great item. Definitely worth it whether you are a parent or teacher. I'm planning to acquire more.
- I purchased 2 sets of these headphones for my kids, 3 and 5. We used them on 2 plane rides and one of the sides stopped working on one pair - and we were not rough with them at all. The size is nice - they stayed on their head for the most part, but there are much higher quality products out there that cost about the same, have better sound quality, are more cushy and are less flimsy

- Wow, I have now been using these headphones for a month. I use them to watch movies on my computer and they just work Sound quality isn't perfect but for my 'untrained' ear it is excellent. They also just work, plugged them in and off i went everything just worked. Love that I can plugin multipe sources. For the cost these headphones are about as good as you can expect. If I had one complaint I think it would be that after long listening times they and bother your ears.
- The other reviews left me asking questions, so here are the answers to the ones I had. Out of the box you get the earphones and stand, batteries, digital optical cord, and power source. No RCA audio cord included, a big miss for Panasonic in my opinion. Add a 90 cent cord for heavens sake. To get started fast, I put two AA alkalines in the headphone (very simple), hooked power to the stand, and used my own RCA audio cord (analog, red and white pins on each end) to connect audio out from my TV to the audio in in the back of the headphone stand. On the stand front, I slid the little bar over from digital to analog, and on the back I slid the tiny ATT bar from the 8 to the 0. I then turned on the TV and set the sound to low to middle, and put on the earphones. They worked almost instantly, and the sound was very good. Using the sound up and down device on the right earphone, I was able to adjust the sound just the way I like it; kind of loud, knowing that my wife could hear the TV the way she likes it. Of course, you can mute the TV and still hear the sound in the headphones. I tried various kinds of shows, and some I had TIVO'D, and all were very good. I then put in the NI CAD battery included, and put the headphones on the stand to charge. When charging, a red light comes on on the stand. That night, my wife and I watched "3:10 to Yuma", I with my headphones, now completely charged. I could hear every word and nuance, and was surprised when I went into the kitchen to get a snack, I could still hear the TV with no drop off. The cons for me are not much. The headphones, like all, are a little bit like wearing ear muffs. They do get a little warm watching a two hour movie, but this is a minor complaint. Also, Panasonic must have a few million RCA audio cords hanging around their warehouse, and should have included one. Otherwise, these are very good headphones for wireless.
- I used to have Sony MDR-DS3000 but I could not stand the hiss! I bought these headphones after some claimed that there are no background hisses. Unfortunately there are slight hiss in the background when watching TV programming with mostly dialogues. otherwishe the hiss is unnoticeable. I love how the RF transmission allows me to walk around the house while listening to tv unlike the Infrared ones like Sony where you are limited to 90 degree angle in front of the base unit. The connectivity is very good with two toslink inputs, one RCA input, and one toslink output. I have my PS3, cable box, and the dvd player hooked up and its very convenient. I'm not much of audiophile, but as far as I ( an average joe who wants a surround sound for gaming/movies and doesn't want to wake up the neighbor in process) these headphones have great sound. I highly recommend it over any other wireless headphones with surround sound decoder.
- I bought these primarily so I could watch TV while on the treadmill without having the volume real loud. They're pretty much everything I hoped they would be.
They are super easy to use; you never have to turn anything on or off. The base turns on as soon as it detects a signal, that is, when the TV is turned on. The headphones turn on when you put them on.
The wireless works perfectly. I'm using them with a Panasonic 50" plasma. I'm not an audiophile, but they come in strong and clear not only on the floor where the base is, but on the floor below too (where the bathroom is). And working out without a cord to trip over is just great.
They sound fantastic when the broadcast is digital and many details can be heard that aren't clear through the TV's speakers. I have it hooked up with digital optical cable, another big plus. Analog broadcasts sound so-so, but that's not the headphone's fault. I personally don't like the simulated surround effect and leave that turned off.
The only drawbacks are: I wish they were a little lighter, and I wish they cost less than $175. But they aren't and they don't. So be it. I like them.
- These are the 3rd pair of headphone that I have owned. All things being equal, they are the best sounding pair that I have. But they do have some problems. Their range is very short. Going beyond the room where the base is can be troublesome. I have 800 Mhz headphones, and while know that frequency can penetrate walls better then 2.4Ghz I was hoping they would at least keep up with my laptop's wireless which they don't even come close. If your not going far from the base then these are the headphones for you!
