  1. I have had these headphones for a few years now. I also do a lot of traveling for my company (ie flying). About a half year ago the headphones started emiting small pops and hisses (all of which are pretty much covered over by music). I contacted Panasonic help center and they referred me to an "authorized dealer". A search from their website shows the nearest "authorized dealer" is a measly 1200+ miles from my location. I followed through email about location and they never replied. I will not purchase another Panasonic product again.

  2. Here is why this product fails to deliver on the $150 price I paid for it. First, it does NOT cancel noise but only an eighth of low frequency ambient sound which essentially is... nothing. The "noise canceling" label misleads. At best, the label should read "Low frequency reducing". Second, the quality of sound it delivers misses the lows and highs one expects for such a high priced set of headphones. Third, while it is bearable, it is uncomfortable. Fourth, it is overpriced, whether at $90 or $150. I would not have paid more than $20 had I known what I was REALLY getting.

I would try another brand if I were you. As it is, I will now have to spend MORE money getting some honest to goodness Noise Canceling headphones that actually deliver on the promise. And that is why I say buying Panasonic RP-HC300 headphones are "cash canceling" because after you pay the $90 or $150 asking price, you have to go out again and spend another $150-200 for some REAL noise canceling headphones that actually do the job.

    Be forewarned.

  3. Product works well, however customer service has een VERY POOR. Headset slider slips out of track. Unusable. Have been unsuccessful in trying since 1/12/07 to return/exchange product. Company does not respond. Amazon does not respond. Lesson learned. I'm stuck with this inferior product but will NEVER purchase electonics on-line. Learn from my mistake.

  4. great product for reasonable price - my son loves this headset and it is very comfortable!

  5. Pros: Comfortable, well made, nice case, folds flat

Cons: Does not really do much noise cancelling.

Wanted these for airplane trips. I found that they muffled noise rather than cancelled them and then only lower frequency noises at that. You have to turn on the switch for them to work but there is no big difference in them with the switch on or off. Plus you get slight hissing with the switch on.

I didn't really expect them to shut out all noise but was dissapointed in the level of noise that still leaked through. Haven't had the chance to compare with other headphones.

As for sound quality for music, they seem fine but that is not why I bought them.

  1. I bought these to try for noisy bus rides associated with my work. There is a definite difference when they're turned on versus using them as regular headphones. Sometimes, I have even used them strictly to cancel noise instead of listening to anything and have also used them without power. Either way, I am impressed. Comfort level is okay and they fold into a pouch (included). The single battery lasts a long time as long as you don't leave the switch on when not in use. This is of competitive quality with some much more expensive models and I really got a lot more than I expected for this price. Especially as they are considered "portable" headphones.

  2. I think they did a genious design for the headphone (can be folded) but its too tight to your head and painful if you wear it for more tan 5 mins.
The sound quality is very good

  3. I bought these for my teenage niece for Christmas for her Ipod. My sister was tired of hearing her music from outside her headphones. Shortly after Christmas, my sister called thanking me profusely because she can't hear a thing now. So, I guess they work great. Not sure about the sound quality for the user, but for a teenager, they are fine.

  4. I purchased these headphones as a gift. Didn't even get a chance to see if they really cancelled noise...the band that unfolded to hold the headphones on the top of the head was so hard and uncomfortable, you couldn't even wear it!

I returned them immediately and purchased Philips noise-cancelling headphones with a behind-the-neck band. Much more comfortable.

  5. I know it sounds great, folding, noise canceling, and everything, yet it doesn't do a good job of any of the things it boasts about.

Couple of things why you shouldn't buy this.

    1. The Noise canceling doesn't work very well. One of the worst I've seen. It's not very well made because the noise canceling is suppose to only send out a certain amount of radio waves to block the ones coming in, and yet they made the noise canceling too loud and you can here the radio waves all too loudly.

    2. Very cheap material, it looks good in the picture, but the actual product doesn't look all that good.

    3. The ear part is the weirdest size. It doesn't go over the year and it just kind of squeezes your ears to stay on. It doesn't cover your ears very well.

    4. The head band is not round, it's square because of the folding option. You look goofy when you wear it, only wear it inside the house.

    5. You can't wear it for a very long time. It's not comfortable.

Please do not buy this. For your own good.

  1. I had my backpack stolen and in them were my second pair of Sony MDR-EX51LPs that I got after the left ear died in my first pair. When looking for replacements I decided to try something new and looked around at alot of reviews and these had the best overall reviews from the most sources. Here are my thoughts on these buds.

    Pros
    - Sound quality is pretty good but nothing really noticable above my sonys (from what I remember)
    - Durability, these seem to be built well, had thicker wire than my sonys
    - Different sets of ear pieces

    Cons
    - Around $25 more than the Sonys
    - DO NOT MOVE when wearing these... the feedback from the wire is HORRIBLE. There is no way I could work out in these without going insane
    - Not the most comfortable buds ever... the bigger 11mm speaker makes quite a bit of difference in fit. Also I cant put my head down flat in these buds and still be comfortable.
    - (minor) The jack isnt a right angle jack.

Overall, if the feedback from the wire wasn't sooooo bad these phones would be much better. If that improved and the comfort was a little better these would be 5 stars with ease.

However, the feedback is a major problem and I just might look to try to sell these and get me another pair of Sonys!

  2. Don't buy these headphones...seriously. After a week of proper use and care, The sound in the left ear bud went out. Buy the cheaper skullcandy headphones. They last longer and are nicer to your wallet.

  3. Read a review where these were listed as having the sound qualities of headphones triple in price. The article was correct. These headphones are great for bass reproduction and overall sound quality. Good solid build quality. Great bargain!

  4. I decided to get these ear buds since I saw how great they were rated in an online magazine. I've had Sony ear buds which were noise canceling for about $100 and a pair of Sony's that were regular ear buds that were around $50, both of which had an ear bud stop working after minimal use. So I decided to try these titans and they are amazing. None of the Sony's ever had the range of these ear buds; the bass is awesome. The first pair worked out so well that I decided to get a second pair. There are is one major issue though, you can't really run with them, because the cord transmits a lot of sound when it beats against anything. They are not perfect, but nothing I've ever used before sounds as good as these buds have.

  5. I love these buds... one of the best out there..before i got these,i had a cheap target pair of skullcandy's and after about 6 months they were shot.. not bad for 14 bucks.. but still, and then i got these new titanium's...Ive only had them for about 3 weeks and they came with an awesome carrying case, with foam and rubber ear bud add-on's... i unfortunately lost the plastic ear buds and case and had to use the foam add-on's... there horrible..they hurt your ear.. the push themselves off and they rip instantly if you touch them.. stay with the plastic add-on and you got an awesome pair of skullcandy buds.

  1. I bought these in the hopes that they would replace my inexpensive Philips HS500 Behind-The-Ear Headphones. The sound quality was better than the Philips but I can't wear them for more than 30 minutes at a time. I can wear the HS500's for hours on end and no discomfort.

Though the sound is great, if you can't wear them, what good are they!

I'll gladly stay with my HS500, which are now extremely inexpensive...

  2. These are amazing. Crisp highs and deep, pounding lows make these headphones some of the best I've heard. As a self-proclaimed audiophile, I've heard some nice headphones, including a pair of Sennheiser HD 595s that I own. Not to dis Sennheiser, but these 20 dollar headphones might sound better than the 300 dollar HD 595s. And as for comfort, I dont know what that other guy was thinking, or how he was wearing them. These are some of the most comfortable headphones out there, no doubt. Do yourself a favor and buy these if you're looking for a nice pair of neckband headphones. You won't be disappointed.

Update: I've had these headphones for four months now, and the neckband just snapped today. Sure, they're cheap headphones, but they should be built with more quality than they actually are. They've got a 2-year warranty, and because they sound great I fully intend to replace them. But beware, these are more fragile than they should be. I want to change the number of stars I rated from 5 to 3, but it seems Amazon won't let me...

  3. I got these headphones just a bit ago, and I really like the sound they put out. Comparing them to some Panasonic, Philips, and stock Creative ones is like night and day. Really nice bass, and enough highs so it doesn't sound muffled... there sound quality is perfect.

But a bit after I bought them the headband broke. I taped it up with a splint and they still work, though.

Also, after a bit of wearing they make my ears a bit sore, since they really squeeze your head.

  1. this is the worst earphones ever. nothing about it is comfortable or affordable because this is extremely cheap! the cord feels like shoe lace and the earphones look ugly and made of plastic. the three gel sizes do not let you hear the music well--even when you take them off, the sound quality sucks! don't believe me, buy it for yourself. i can't even sell them.

  2. I took 30 dollars to the nearest COMP USA in hopes of finding a better pear of headphones than the crappy ones that came with my Zen V Plus. I pick out the Rivets. I had a sort of intention of finding some cheat noise cancelling headphones, and these are perfect. The buds fit comfortably in your ear, and the included three sizes will fit most. The one thing I did disagree with is the nylon like material the cord was made out of. I think these are great for sombody wanting to pick a up a decent pair of noise cancellers. For a great pair check out the Shure e4 c's.

  3. I bought these at an InMotion airport store for about $30.

While there's nothing special about the headphones, I LOVE the lanyard. It basically wraps around the back of your neck, so when you don't have the headphones on, they're still sitting on your shoulders for easy access.

For someone who's on the phone all the time like me, I can't emphasize enough how great it is to have the lanyard. I don't listen to music on my phone much so i can't comment on the quality for music, put for phone conversations and podcasts they're fine.

  1. The Griffin Tunebuds are as good as the Apple Originals for a better price. They fit the ear better, reduce more noise and work just as well as the originals. The fixed length and attachment point seems to hook under shirt colars more.

  2. These are the closest in quality to the earbuds that came with my ipod nano, and WAY more comfortable! Excellent muffling of outside noise, without the sound quality being muffled itself. Great bass, great overall. Highly recommend these and I have bought three other pair before nailing it with this product! The design is convenient too, no long snake-y cords wrapped all over me. Excellent value.

  3. I had written a positive review of the iPod nano lanyard a year ago, and now I wish I hadn't. They whistled; they really weren't small enough for my ears; and the sound quit on one earbud after six months. So I bought these Griffins, and they are perfect. The earbuds actually come in a very small size, which appears to be needed by many users besides me, judging from the comments on the iPod lanyard site. The Griffins snap in more securely than the iPod's, too. The lanyard length isn't adjustable as on the iPod's, but its length seems just right anyway. I think these are easily the superior product.

  4. It only works for the ipod. its got a piece that clicks into the bottom so you cant use it with a psp.

  5. i bought this headphones and i didnt know it was only for the 1g nano and i have a 3rd generation nano and they work. the sound is very good i love them and for the price they are better.(good brand by the way)

  1. Very good sound, and an over-all crisp and clear rendition, that is as 'faithful' as they state on the box.

I use these to record and mix in my humble home-studio, as they have a large Hz-range and don't clutter the sound, as many headphones do. They're closed, but not shutting out the engine of an airplane.

Sound is always a question of taste. You don't need these to listen to Timbaland, who sounds just as great on my cheaper Sennheisser HD 205's. But if you want to get that nice feeling of sitting in the middle of the symphony orchestra, or learn all the vocal arrangements on "What's going on", or just hear all instruments clearly, Aurvana are a good buy (if you can live with the pretentious name) ;-)

If money is no problem to you buy Grado SR 225 or higher. They are a different ballgame and the best I've ever tried.

  2. Frankly, I found these headphones fairly lifeless, "muddy" in the mid range for pop/rock/classical music, vocals and video dialogue were indistinct, but otherwise full range yet giving a "compressed" [dull, dead] sound stage compared to my audiophile quality Sony Studio Monitor Series MDR-XD400 headphones which are superior to the Live!s in all respects. I recommend the Sonys without any reservations, as well as the more highly rated--yet less pricey than these Live!s--Audio Technica headphones, but I use headphones almost 24/7 so full range sound quality AND clarity is paramount to me. The CL Aurvana "DJ" headphones I tried were equal to the MDR-XD400s, but AT NEARLY 16oz, they were too heavy for me to wear for long periods and I returned them for that reason.

  3. I do a lot of recording and mixing and sometimes need to do a quick job on the road. I bought these without listening to them beforehand because they were cheap (60 bucks when I bought them) so if I broke them while traveling wouldn't feel too bad, and probably still had decent sound. Now I've listened and used them.

They are worth sixty dollars or so. These are not high end head phones - they jack up the gain so you can use them with mp3 players and have a metallic kind of sound - but they are much better than you typically get for 40 dollar or so headphones. They are acceptable for my use and are easy to use for a couple of hours at a shot because they fit comfortably.

I would say the build on them suggests they won't take much of a beating. But that's the nature of headphones in the sub-100 dollar price range. This is a decent product that gets over the bar for an audiophile, but will not wow you.
