5 comments about Koss KEB24 Portable Isolation Earbud (Green).
  1. Well, the first thing I did is pop 'em in, as is. I was a bit disppointed by the "isolation" -- I could still clearly hear noises around me.

I swapped the covers around, went for the large -- more runner stuffed in your ear = more sound blockage, right? Well, not for me. I switched to the small ones and bam! I can't hear the humm of the PC fan and can only faintly hear the clicking of the keyboard.

So after getting a proper fit and listinening to a few songs to get used to them, I went into my "most played" playlist and listened to three songs.

"Full Moon Jig" by Ancient Times was enough to impress. It has a fiddle line in it that sounded as crisp as I've ever heard it and the bass line (with NO equalizer setup) made my head vibrate as if I hass the bass turned up in the car.

"Yesterday" by The Beatles was a surprise. I didn't realize there were that many stereo effects -- even listening to it with the stock earbuds didn't render that. The guitar sounded clear, the lyrics sounded soft (I think that's the mix of the song, as I've never heard the lyrics as sharp as I'd have liked)

Brooks & Dunn's "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was my third choice. The bass again was impressive. I found it a bit disconcerting that the bass _can_ sound like that without making my chest rattle. The highs of the keyboard and fiddle were sharp as ever. The lyrics were as clear as I've heard them.

If you can get over the fact that they're in-ear, meaning clearing your throat or brushing the cord sounds LOUD, and surround noises are, well, mostly missing, these are nice headphones, and at $20, I'm happy. I say four stars because even with the closest-fitting tips, the fit isn't quite what I'm after and I keep wiggling them hoping to get them in just the right spot. If I had purchased these online, I'd keep them. Since I got them in a store, I'll try 'em for a few days and possibly swap for another brand in the same price range. Other than the funky fit, these are GREAT.

  2. These earphones produce an incredibly low amount of bass.
I was really shocked that anyone would produce earphones of this sound profile. I had to test it against my other phones to make sure that nothing was wrong with my audio player, computer, headphone jacks, settings, etc. Even a set of free throwaway earphones had much more bass.

I'm definitely not a bass head, but I think a minimum amount of bass is necessary for things to sound balanced. While the mids and highs are clear and crisp with these phones, I really cannot bear to use them for more than 5 minutes. It is tolerable for stuff like language learning audio, but seriously disrespects any form of music.

As others have mentioned, the cord shape is also weird and lays uncomfortably.

  3. I really liked the different sized buds this comes with - the regular size of other earbuds is too big for me. So after the first one broke within a couple of months, I hoped it was just a coincidence and bought a second pair of the same model.

Unfortunately, the second set also broke; this time they had just lasted 6 weeks. And I only use them twice a week for about an hour each.

The problem with each set of earbuds was that the left earbud gave out. After buying two, and each breaking, I won't get KOSS again.

The sound seemed ok to me, average for this kind of earbuds.

  4. I actually found these earbuds to be the most comfortable and best sounding earbuds I've ever had. I had to use the smallest size of the rubber covers, and for the first time ever, a pair of earbuds actually fit. I didn't find them uncomfortable, and I found the sound to be great for my purposes. If you're just looking for a comfortable pair of earbuds for a good price, I'd recommend these.

The only downfall I found was that the rubber can slip off sort of easily. I lost one on a plane once when I was putting my bag in the overhead compartment and the earbuds were around my neck.

  5. I simply cannot understand any review that describes these ear buds as anything less than fair. They have absolutely no bass, and while the sound is decent spatial highlighting, it just plain tinny.
I would have given them one star on sound alone, but they do fit better than most ear buds I have tried.
    Not recommended.

3 comments about Shure PA910L Replacement Black Foam Sleeves (Large) for Shure SE210, SE310, SE420, SE530 and SE530PTH Earphones.
  1. I have a pair of E500 headphones. They were immediately the best headphones I've ever heard - yet, I never really got a "good seal" with any of the standard sleeves (yellow foam, clear, black, et al).

These are, by a long shot, the best sleeves you can get for your Shure headphones.

They expand to form a perfect seal, that is leaps and bounds more comfortable than any other choice. Having a tight seal was difficult for me with the default sleeves because there is a very slight variation in the size of my ear canals. These sleeves perfectly address that issue and form the tightest sound isolation possible with an extremely comfortable fit.

If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

If you've bought Shure headphones, then you are concerned with quality of sound. You will enjoy your headphones even more with these sleeves.

  2. I picked these up when I was looking for replacements for the yellow foam tips for my E4Cs. I wish they had produced these when I bought my in ears. These are everything they say they. Great fit and absolutely washable. The only thing that would beat these are custom molded in ears. If you've got the big bucks go custom molded otherwise these are the best currently available. Love 'em!

  3. I find these Shure foams to be a slight improvement over the yellow ones of yesteryear. The old style were cylindrical, with a plastic tube in the middle that sometimes protruded. You'd always have to make sure to use the right end or the plastic would poke your inner ear, which was unpleasant.

These don't have that problem. They're tapered, and the plastic tube is recessed a good distance from the opening. The tapering also makes them a little more comfortable, and their wider base ensures a good fit regardless of ear size.

The only drawback is that because they are black, they look dirtier. The old yellow ones hid your earwax better. Luckily these, like the old ones, are very easy to wash.

I'll never take a ride on a plane without a spare pack of these again.

  1. I have to say that these headphones are amazingly durable. I have accindently dropped them in water, my toddler stepped on them, and dropped them several times and they still work perfectly. For the price they are very reliable. I paid $5.50 for them about 2 months ago

  2. These are decent buds, but lower quality sound than the cheaper (I got them for less than $5) Coby Superbass. If you need volume control, they're the best I've found so far (but I only get cheap buds). Also, not as comfortable as the Superbass...

  1. Ahh, skullcandy, great headphones, I like these because of the nice cushion they have on the ear parts, and on the bottom of the top area. The shipping was fast, Nice design, overall 5/5. Great job guys.

  2. Ok I bought these becuase my wife has a pair of Skullcandy Hesh. So I thought these would be kick A"" to there ok. The biggest problem I have with these is they fall off my head all the time so these things are chillin head phones. I got this pair cheap so if you can get them cheap get them because they do sound good not much bass though. Word of advice spend the extra money and get the Skullcandy Hesh they kick and sound better and they dont fall off your head. Oh also leave the skullcrushers alone to not real bass just good vibrations. Thanks

  3. They look just like they are pictured, they are comfy on the ears and my son loves them.

  4. Very quick, good transaction. They are exactly as advertised and are now my favourite headphones. :) I've never owned headphones so comfortable before. Didn't need to take them off during the 8-hour drive from home to college.

  5. I have had these a week now and am EXTREMELY pleased ! And no, I'm not a "younger person", lol. Mid 40's and lUv my muZic. I have bought a handful of different earbuds and small headphones for my mp3 players and haven't really liked any of them. Earbuds kill your ears after an hour or so and never really fit both my ears, as they are different IDs. Plus I like to be able to hear what is happening around me.
Use these outside and inside, while in my workshop, sitting at the lake, on the deck, rolling around in the yard and while surfing. I'd use them while riding my handcycle but I don't want to sweat all over them.

They are VERY comfortable, very lightweight, excellent sound quality, ya don't have to set the volume high to hear all the instruments/frequencies either. I listen to all types of music and they ALL sound great on these. Wiring is flexible AND high quality. They are WELL BUILT, fold up and stow in minimal space. Oh yeah, they look cool as well, ya don't have to be a teenager to appreciate THAT... most of us, anyway.
    John

  1. These ear buds are a little more comfortable than most other hard plastic ear buds, but what is best is they sound great! I have a hard time with earbuds this size due to small ears, so I have tried a lot of brands and styles. They were not the perfect fit for me, but it's almost worth the slight discomfort (your mileage may vary) my weird ears give me for the sound. They're reasonable too, so you can't go wrong.

I have pairs of Earbuds that cost much more that sound significantly inferior.

  2. ***
This earbuds are as cute as could be, sound great, and are durable, but are very, very uncomfortable. I can only wear mine for about a half hour before they begin to hurt and after an hour I have to take them out---then that's it for the whole day. They are a somewhat soft rubber on the outside but the inside is hard plastic; they are comparable in quality to the earbuds that come with iPod nanos. For the price they are adequate, but you can spend about the same or a bit more and get earbuds that are all this and that you can wear for longer as well.

I ended up buying some "Koss "The Plug" Portable Headphones" for under $20 and can wear them all day; I would recommend something like this instead.

I do like the colors that these earbuds come in, but they are more than an accessory for me and have to be usable as well. The sound quality is just fine for a cheaper ear bud---no complaints here.

Mine often fall out because they do not change their shape to accommodate your ear; your ear must change shape to fit this earbud, hence the discomfort.
    ***

  3. I have tried just about every brand and price for earbud style earphones. In addition, I have tiny ears and it is hard to find earphones that stay in my ear and do not fall out. (Only this brand and the new Sony headphones fit my ears) Most earphones are too large and HURT my ears. These are 5 star rated because:
    1) The best sound quality I have heard both in BASS AND TREBLE, and all sounds in between. I use these for: AUDIOBOOKS, MUSIC and PODCAST SHOWS. All types of these have superior sound using these earphones.
    2) They are so so comfortable and do not fall out of my ears.
    3) They are used for jogging and speedwalking and other exercising. They stay in my ears.
    4) They are used for traveling and are lightweight and comfortable and store easily in my purse with my MP3 player or CD/MP3 player.
    SUPERB PRODUCT!

  1. The first thing I would like to point out is that the product image provided by Amazon is the older version of the Speck MacBook Pro Black case. This item is actually the second version, thus the V2 in the product name. I think the newer version is much sleeker than its predecessor and I am very happy with this case. It fits perfectly on my MacBook Pro and definitely improves the overall durability of the computer. I will be taking the laptop with me around campus in my backpack and like the fact that it will be protected from scratches. I recommend this product and am confident it will hold up to a college lifestyle.

5 comments about Sennheiser LX70 Sport Line Flexible Stereo Headphones.
  1. I have spent many years searching for the perfect sport headphone. I was excited to see the new Sennheiser Sport line. I knew I had to try them out. I chose the LX70 model because I liked the headband and the one-sided cord.

In the past I have had great trouble with sport headphones. They have been too heavy to stay on my head. The ear buds have been too large to sit comfortably in my ears. The cords have worn out on one side rendering one speaker useless.

I love the Sennheiser LX70s because they are so light weight. The flexible headband keeps the ear buds secure and the headphones stay on my head. I do not have to adjust the headphones every 30 seconds while running. I can workout and forget that I even have headphones on. The one sided cord keeps the headphones from becoming tangled in limbs and free weights.

  2. So far I have bought this model, and the MX70 and with both headphones one of the ear buds looses sound complete after a couple of months of use no matter how care one is with them. The LX70 has the annoying tendency to twist in the ear so that rather than the speakers face the ear canal, they flip out during workout so they are perpendicular to the side of the head. Very annoying. What a waste of money. On the plus side, both head phones had okay sound quality and were above average resistant to sweat.

  3. The sound reproduction was actually decent, but these were hardly "Universal fit." I have one ear slightly smaller than the other, and I thought the headband on this might help to hold the ear buds in place, but it was flimsy (picture a pipe cleaner instead of hard plastic) and the ear bud stubbornly refused to go into my ear.

  4. I have been searching for the perfect headphones for running. My seach is finally over! These headphones stay in place when I run but are light enough that I don't even notice that I am wearing them. I lost count how many headphones that I have broken the headset bar, or they didn't stay in place or were too heavy. So these headphones are great plus the quality of the sound is excellent!

  5. I'm sure these are good quality headphones but I returned them because I couldn't get them to fit properly. I did buy a different set of Sennheisers as they are a great product

  1. Sennheiser in-ear headphones are the best iPod portable listening devices I have encountered. They reproduce sound superbly across the full spectrum from treble to bass. These headphones come with a variety of sized ear pieces that allow the user to get a custom in-ear fit that stays put whether running, lifting weights or just chilling. Additionally, Sennheiser has integrated a volume control into one of the cords which enables the listener to adjust the volume without having to access the iPod itself.
