5 comments about V-MODA Vibe Earbuds (Gunmetal Black).
- I don't know how to explain my disappointment with this product, I read good reviews and expected that I would be receiving a quality product, I got less then I bargained for.
My initial reaction was to how comfortable they sit in my ears, and to how stylish they look, definitely an incredible job in this department. The sound quality on the other hand, was nothing sort of disastrous. The bass sounds extremely muffled, and overdone. The midrange and highs might as well not exist, and this was after a burn in. To make it worse, a few hours ago I noticed a crackling sound coming out of the right bud, prevalent on multiple devices, I could only conclude it was a defect.
Not only was the sound extremely underwhelming, but these buds broke after only a few hours of use, they never even left my desk. To make it worse, V-Moda want me to pay for shipping costs to return their defective product. Not impressed.
- When I first bought the Vibe, I was very unimpressed and didn't understand why it got favorable professional reviews. Checking on the web, I found that the initial batch of Vibes in 2004 (?) were good, then the 2005-2006 (approx.) were not nearly as good and the models available from 2007 got better. I have now both the 2005 and 2007 versions and the latter is significantly better than the 2005.
Now, I'm not nick picking here and am not an audiophile (my entire stereo system is <$500) but there truly is a world of difference. You can tell the versions by the plug - the earlier ones were smooth and the later ones have "teeth" - you can also look at the "first offered at Amazon" date in the description.
4 stars for the 2007, 2 stars for the earlier.
- I was eyeing these buds eversince they showed up on the shelves of Cos***. They recently had a coupon sale and offered $10 off which I thought was good enough although shelling out $69 for earbuds still seemed high for me, but I thought "ehhh these are probably very good ones".
As a semi-pro musician on the side, I am very particular in sound quality and have access to studio quality equipment. I must admit that I was very impressed with the appearance and total packaging of the vmoda. My wife saw them and immediately wanted one for herself. I read somewhere that you have to break-in the buds and let it play for atleast a week to get the sound right which I did... I set my mp3 player at a comfortable listening level and left it alone playing thru the buds. After about 30 hours of continuous playing, I picked it up, filled with excitement and started to try enjoying them. This is when I noticed that no matter what I did, the bass although powerful, sounded muddy, boomy and kinda drowned out the rest of the ranges. I tried adjusting the sound setting on my mp3 player and even messed with the equalizer setting to no avail... and yes this is a high end mp3 player with quality mp3 files the lowest quality files ripped at 192kbps. My wife's ipod earphones although lacking the bass sounded better than the vmoda. I just couldn't get the mid and high range I mean I could hear them but it was like I was listening from outside of someone elses car like one reviewer mentioned. This even when I had turned off all the bass options on the mp3 player.
Anyway, I was going to continue hoping that it gets better during the "break-in" period (which I thought I had done already) but then I got an email from Cos*** which had a link to another vmoda lookalike that they were having a special on (the lenntek sonix). So I ordered those and returned the vmoda. I couldn't have made a better decision! Read my other review on the Sonix. You too might like that a lot better not to mention they cost less than half!
- These are without a doubt a great value and sharp looking too. Bass is fabulous, I don't have to use bass boost on my Ipod Touch. I use them at a very reduced volume and find I miss nothing in the way of sound reproduction.
- The sound of these headphones is great. I have to grant them that. The sound is incredibly clear and I've noticed some things in my music that I wasn't able to before as a result.
However, I would not recommend gunmetal black for one specific reason. The cord is made of a rubber material and it catches, yanks, and holds on to _everything_. As a result, the cord on the headphones wore out a lot quicker than they would have if it were a simple plastic that wasn't as tacky (in texture).
Further, their customer service is glacially slow and they've worn my patience out. 16 business days (2008-08-09 to 2007-08-30) to open an envelope, verify a defective item, grab a replacement and pop it in the mail? I hope they don't sprain anything. On top of that, they stated "tracking is not currently provided by USPS". Oh really? It sure was when I sent it to them... insurance too.
I was highly tempted to buy the vibe duo to control my iphone, but not now.
If you aren't thwarted by my review, I'd suggest getting one of the colored versions, as their cords seem to be wrapped with a woven metal. As long as it doesn't fray, it won't catch and yank on nearly as much stuff as the rubber cord.

- I just bought these -and- These sound better and look better , than any headphone i'v owned. Iv had the Sony MDR-V700DJ , and the 500, and both failed. These are amazng , they have a unique swivel where you can have them on and push one cup below or above your ear. Then it can be locked or pushed back .
would never switch to any other brand or style
- I bought these headphones as a gift for my boyfriend and he LOVES them. He's been a DJ for 8 years and he's never owned anything with better sound or comfort. The quality is excellent compared to the flimsy Sony MDR-V700 which break easily. They look great and aren't too heavy. Worth every penny.
- I'm a electronic music dj so I need a really good pair of headphones. I've used pioneer hdp 1000 and sony mdvr 500 and 700. Both of them broke after a hard use on the dj cabin. These techincs are perfect, sound excelent, size perfect, loud enough, closed.
bye

- These are no better than the buds that came with my iPod. Immediately replaced them with Koss buds from WalMart at less than $20. They are excellent.
- If you are a self-professed 'audiophile', then you are at the wrong page. If, however, you are a normal human being who is looking for a stylish yet functional pair of great sounding in-ear headphones, then you have arrived at the right page.
If, like myself, the regular in-ear phones all too often fall out, and you don't like either the idea of pushing 'buds' into your inner ear or the idea of outer-ear headphones ruffling your feathers then here is perhaps the best solution to your musical problems. As one would expect from Bang & Olufsen not only do these remarkable headphones look like a piece of modern art, but they function perfectly well too; and not merely in the audio sense. Functionally they are an amazingly flexible yet simple to use design, built around an ingenious three-way movement that allows your to exactly place the drivers at the opening to your ear. In fact, they fit SO well that you cannot tell you are wearing them.
Of course, we are talking about headphones, so, the all important question, "What about the sound?". B & O have built a solid reputation not merely on their elegant design, but on the quality of their sound too, and needless to say these sound great! beyond great, they are sharp, clear, crisp, clean, colourful, deep, round and offer excellent clarity and separation for such minute drivers. I have listened to a wide variety of music and these headphones have coped perfectly well, delivering a quality performance through a wide spectrum of musical genres.
Although the design of these was later stolen by other companies who butchered it to make those horrible 'active' headphones these headphones are not necessarily meant to be worn by individuals looking to break a sweat, their strength lies in simply being a beautiful, well-crafted pair of headphones that sound superb and simply happen to be worn around the ears. I like to think the designers were tackling the problem of the perpetually dislodged in-ear headphone rather than making a solution for the sporty.
The only minus to this product is the length of the cable - way too long for today's music players. Back in the day, when these were conceived maybe the cable was just the right length, now it is simply WAY too long and ends up coiled or tangled thus ruining the sharp aesthetics of the actual phones. Ironically, B & O provide the purchaser with an 'extension' cable, so why they didn't make the initial cable much shorter, I have no idea - shame!
- *****WARNING**** If you purchase this product (Bang & Olufsen A8 B&O) make sure you purchase this product from a KNOWN SOURCE because if not, you will be buying a Knock Off (Fake) version of this product. Also ***WARNING*** If you buy any headphone set for 49.99 or 45.99 or even 59.99 (and there worth $250 or $150) They will be FAKE!!! like the BOSE Tri Ports for 49.99 ***WARNING*** ANY Headphone/Earphone set that is %80 Less than the Original price Refurbished or Open Box they will be fake UNLESS there backed by a Real Manufacturer Warranty or Of course %100 money back guarantee! **** WARNING**** DONT BE FOOLED FYI GOOD LUCK!

4 comments about Sony MDR Q68LW - Headphones ( clip-on ).
- Love these for listening to books on tape or CD. If you bend over, they don't fall off. Great stuff
- Not sure why the write-ups don't say anything about it, but the connector requires no adapter to work with the iPhone. For me, the earbuds that come with the iPhone don't fit all that well, but these fit perfectly and produce excellent sound quality. And the retractable cord means you never have to worry about these things getting tangled up in your pocket or gearbag. Highly recommended!
- PROS:
-Retractible cord is very functional and very cool.
-Fit is also functional as well and comfortable. I wear glasses and most earphones these style that hang on your ears usually never work with glasses on, but these do for some reason. Also the spring lock feature works fairly well to keep the hook taught on your ears without the wobble you usually get from these design.
-In silent environments, you can hear that the sound quality is pretty even and good. Anything louder than your library and you don't hear much.
-Colors and options. I've seen like 9 different color combos for these on the web. In Japan one guy or company actually fit a micro SD Card MP3 player into one of the earcups so you get an all-in-one package.
-Really good build quality. Good value!
CONS:
-The reason I stopped using these is the NYC Subway. Outside of the library or morgue these earphones let in every sound that is around you and the music you want to hear fades below everything else. Before buying these, I had Sony Fontopia MDR in-ear buds (which sealed out all the outside noise) and those caused an ear infection so I had to get over the ear style headphones and I got these. So immediately when I wore these I was VERY DISSAPPOINTED when I realized how loud everything else was during my commute. The sound quality is pretty good, but the design lets in too much noise to be able to enjoy what you're playing.
-I wished the foam bits were removable or replacable with something that is more seal-able (like rubber) which would be good for keeping outside sound out.
- I really like these headphones. Pros: They stay on your ears well, the reel mechanism (for winding the cable up inside the 'phones) is resilient, and the cable is extremely thin. Oh, and the sound quality seems fantastic to me, though I'm no audiophile.
Cons: The picture of this product shows white headphones, but I was shipped black ones (would have preferred the white) -- not too big a deal, I guess. Here's the most irritating drawback: The cable that goes from the headphones to the jack is too short! I cannot use these to listen to my iPod nano with it in my pants pocket; the cable, fully extended, doesn't let the nano reach the end of the pocket and the weight of the device pulls the left headphone off my ear as I walk. But I'm 6'2"; if you're 5'8" or shorter this probably won't be an issue for you. You could also keep your MP3 player higher than your waist, which is what I do (but it's not ideal).

- They look just like they are pictured, they are comfy on the ears and my son loves them.
- Very quick, good transaction. They are exactly as advertised and are now my favourite headphones. :) I've never owned headphones so comfortable before. Didn't need to take them off during the 8-hour drive from home to college.
- I have had these a week now and am EXTREMELY pleased ! And no, I'm not a "younger person", lol. Mid 40's and lUv my muZic. I have bought a handful of different earbuds and small headphones for my mp3 players and haven't really liked any of them. Earbuds kill your ears after an hour or so and never really fit both my ears, as they are different IDs. Plus I like to be able to hear what is happening around me.
Use these outside and inside, while in my workshop, sitting at the lake, on the deck, rolling around in the yard and while surfing. I'd use them while riding my handcycle but I don't want to sweat all over them.
They are VERY comfortable, very lightweight, excellent sound quality, ya don't have to set the volume high to hear all the instruments/frequencies either. I listen to all types of music and they ALL sound great on these. Wiring is flexible AND high quality. They are WELL BUILT, fold up and stow in minimal space. Oh yeah, they look cool as well, ya don't have to be a teenager to appreciate THAT... most of us, anyway.

- I think everyone else has the headphone specs covered, so I just wanted to comment on the MacRed color, which currently sells for a spectacular $20.93 here. It's a muted warm plum color with a metallic sheen, which is far better than the fire engine red I thought I was going to get. I would get this color even if it weren't the cheapest one available.
To add a bit to the specs, the sound quality is rich, clear, and very satisfying. The headphones also fit somewhat loosely and awkwardly on my head when I wear my glasses, so I wouldn't strongly recommend this if you usually wear thick framed glasses. The whole thing is made of light plastic, but I expected that from small headphones like these. Overall, I'm really pleased with these headphones.
- I just received my pink Lowrider headphones in the mail today and was pretty excited. That excitement went right down the drain as soon as I put them on. I was expecting exceptional bass and sound and to be honest, that isn't what I got. These headphones were replacing some I bought from the Dollar Store (yes, you heard that right) and the ones from the Dollar Store had MORE bass than these. I feel like I have wasted my money. Although the sound is clear, it just isn't perfect and if these didn't cost 30 dollars (and I hadn't ordered them online) I would gladly switch back to my Dollar Store headphones. Even messing with the equilibrium settings on my iPod Classic didn't do much. If you're looking for exceptional bass quality, believe me, these AREN'T for you. I'd buy them for cheap but not for the price they're asking. It's just not worth it. AND, they keep falling off of my head and they're at the smallest width possible.
At least they're cute.

- These are super comfortable and easy to pack for travel. The soft rubber ear clips are excellent for extended wear. These are NOT extremely high fidelity, but they allow you to enjoy your music and still hear the world around you...sometimes a necessity. For noise canceling, you'll want to find something else, but for general use when you need to hear the kids, or traffic, or your boss, these are unbeatable for comfort.
The small bud fits right into the opening of the ear, but the ear pieces keep it there. Unlike ordinary ear-buds, these don't fall out. The ear clip is very soft, flexible rubber that you can wear for hours without discomfort. I have lots of these so that I have a pair wherever and whenever I want.

5 comments about Coby CV130 Super Bass HP w/ Swivel Earcups & Volume Control.
- I have bought two pairs of these (so far) after trying dozens of other types and brands. These offer the best fit, best sound & the inline volume adjustment and clip are so convenient. I'm sold on these & wouldn't bother with any others. Husband & son also use them & we all agree, great value.
- I love the sound! I own many headphones. These are by far the BEST!!! The volume and bass can be adjusted through the headphones. They are very comfortable.
- This Coby Headphone is perfect. Not too tight, not too loose, I wear it for hours listening to my favorite music on my Coby MP3 player.
- My husband has some hearing loss in one of his ears. We have an ipod and I have downloaded some books on CD to it for vacation. He could not hear one side with the regular headset. I bought this one and he loves it. He can dial the volume up on the side that he does not hear so well in and can hear in both ears now. He just loves these because of that.
I personally do not care for the around the ear headsets, but it does not bother him. - he says they are comfortable. He seldome listens to music with these so I cannot comment on how that is. He has plugged them in to my portable XM radio and listens to talk radio too
- Well.... The CV 130s are what the CV110s were with two changes. One, the new blue tinting... eh. The second is the handy on-cord volume/slash stereo control. The new control works well for me in use with my i-pod. After my playlist starts I don't have to keep unlocking my i-pod in order to regulate all those unreleased and rare mp3s with differing record levels. Yeah I could do it all on i-tunes... if I had the time. Regardless, having the control on the cord itself makes it too easy to manipulate. I guess there is a third change with the extra bump in cost. However I can't complain about what, 3 bucks...?
I'm a bit rough on my audio gear so I need about four of these a year, and the price is just right for buying in bulk. I mean I still have these $90.oo headphones on my desk but I don't want to use those on the subway, or at work, or when I'm working out. (Did I mention that the swivel cups keep these things in place rather well?) One good reason I fell in love with these, simply put... ((LOUD)). Whatever, I can respect these for what they are and I've bought a lot of throw-aways before I got to these. As long as COBY keeps making them I'll keeps on buying them...

5 comments about Sony MDR7509HD Professional Headphone.
- Really it's very impressive the cuality of sound that gives this headphone, it's seem how you are in to an estudio, the ambient that create this device is really the best I have heard.
Silvio Mibelli
- Every reveiw that I read said that these headphones are the amazing. They were right. I use these for monitoring and mixing on a MIDI sequencer set-up. Response is detailed and flat. Exceedingly comfortable - can wear for hours. No complaints what-so-ever. Wanted Beyerdynamics with fuzzy ear muffs, but due to their high impedence I decided on the MDR7509HD instead -- have you checked the price of good headphone amps!!! With these excellent sounding Sony cans, no amp needed.
- I ordered these headphones about a 18 months ago because I needed a better reference monitor for mixing podcasts, and I wanted to upgrade from some cheaper Sony headphones. My all time favorite were the 7506 model, but I made the mistake of letting an amateur DJ at a corporate party use them and he somehow managed to blow out one of the sides. The company gave me a pair of 7502's they had to replace them, but the 7502's aren't good for critical mixing.
So I splurged and got the MDR-7509HD, because I needed a closed ear headphone, and because I liked the 7506s so much.
I've been disappointed. The biggest problem is that one of the sides has been getting softer and softer over time, and now that they're out of warranty, it's gotten to a point where I can't accurately mix with them. (And it's not my ears; if I switch the phones around the problem follows the bad side.)
They are large; which you'd think would mean better isolation... but that's not the case- they have a moderate amount of leakage - much more than the 7506 model - so when you're voice tracking something close to the mic, you can hear the bleed through from the headphones quite well.
- Ok so when I saw the Mdr 7509 had been redesigned I got all antsy about what I was missing. So when recently buying more cans for studio and CHiPOD use I looked into a few pairs of MDR-7505 phones. The salesman also had some very well priced new MDR-7509HD sets which I picked up on a pure whim.
So I get home and break out the 7505 sets to compare and start with the let down...No such let down came. The 7505 sets although smaller perform extremely well when compared to the old 7509 series.
Then came head to head tests between HD and Previous series 7509's. I must say the low end on the HD set is compromised to clarify their "better Midrange response". I found them more annoying for long sessions of monitoring...I prefer less high end in my sound and a more subdued midrange. Thats just my own preference. The old 7509 series is bassier if that's what tickles your fancy. It certainly does it for me. So I personally prefer the old series and the 7505 set to the HD series. Sorry to disappoint.
This now bring the question...Which of the 7509's are more colored and which are flat? So much for industry standards.
If you are getting them because of the 80 KHz response you won't hear it unless you're a dog eared human being.Typical hearing in a Human is commonly between 15Hz and 20 KHz.
This being said they are great phones but if you get a chance compare both sets before buying and see which you like best. For me they are no loss as I can use them for monitoring and recording with other musicians in studio.Happy shopping and always trust your own ears not someone's reviews. we all hear differently.
- These headphones are great. The isolation is great, the construction is really solid (all metal), and the audio quality is fantastic. Well worth the coin!

5 comments about Nike HJ030 Vapor Sport Bud headphones.
- I bought these at Target for $25 and they are the worst I have ever owned.
First of all they are very cumbersome and heavy. They have this two piece cord that you have to connect together and that adds even more weight.
They say its "3 way adjustable" as if its a perk. The problem is the hinges weren't tight and as I ran I was constantly having to adjust them.
Terrible fit.
I can't comment on the sound. I wore them one time and returned.
- Worse sound quality than regular earphones that came w. my ipod. Plastic cracked at the hook / earphone joint on both R & L sides. This after I used them only 3X. My $20 Sony earphones w. secure hooks didn't fit quite as well, but they lasted many years & had far better sound.
- I recently went to the Apple store to replace my Nike Vapor headphones but they have updated the design. They have changed them for the worse (the cord is much too short and to extend it you have to add connecting cable). Also I had to buy them in white as black was not available at that time. I prefer this older model of headphones. They are very comfortable with great sound.
- Out of all the headphones I have tried, I prefer these simply because they fit any ear.
The sound is great, crisp, and clear. Blocks out noises around you very easily.
I had no problems with sleeping with them on, or running.
The only bad thing about them is they break too soon. The swivel point where there is a screw came out when I just threw them in my bag and when I took it out the entire hook was off. I thought maybe screwing it back together would work, but I ended up snapping the plastic around the screw. So just take good care of them otherwise they will break easily. Maybe the metal version is better.
- I am a runner and when I first purchased these ear phones, I was very happy with the overall sound quality and convenience of the over-the-ear clamps. That being said, after about a year of moderate running (three to four times a week), I have discovered that the wiring is faltering quickly and I often only get consistent sound in one ear bud while the other one skips in and out intermittently. I would not recommend these ear phones to others - especially for the price.
