5 comments about Skullcandy SC-SBW3.5 Smokin Buds Headphones - White.
- this line of earbuds are excellent, only a fraction of the cost of high-end ones with the same functionality.
- Smokin' buds are the best in ear headphone that I have ever had. First they cancel most of the noise outside the ear, so that you can experience the sound with no distractions, and they deliver a sound that I never thought was possible by such a small speaker. Great product. Would recommend to anyone who was willing to pay a little more than normal, but get a far superior headphone.
- After reading reviews and finding the only negative apparently being giant ear canals of one customer, I decided to give them a try. (I see what Giant Ear Canal means, by the way...they DO tend to fall out...but just play with the different sizes of "earpieces" they include; that solved my problem. I use the medium size on the left side and the large size on the right, but this is missing the point). The SOUND QUALITY is no better than the $15 JVC pair I bought at Wal-Mart.
Oh, and the volume slider is OK, but I have to take one earpiece to hear when people talk ANYway, so that feature was not a plus for me.
In my opinion, the Smokin' Buds company simply tries to appeal to the stoner crowd while charging twice the price. Save your dough and go with a real name-brand product.
Thanks for listening-
- It's entirely possible that I had a bad pair, but the sound was completely flat with these earphones. My music lost all of its depth and breadth. You're better off with a generic pair of Phillips from the drugstore.
The only reason they get a star is because they look cool, which in no way makes up for the poor sound quality.
If you want great sounding headphones for under $50, get the Koss PortaPro's.
- I was finally convinced to use ear buds over ear-covering 'phones when I got a set with my Pioneer Inno. Since I wanted one pair for home and one for the office, I have been trying to find another pair I liked as well.
First I decided to go with Pioneer, since I had such luck with the first set. But the buds were too big and hurt my ears. Next I tried a pair of Philips with the same results.
But with these ear buds, I am happy at last. They stay in my ear, their sound is clear--take that claim with a grain of salt since I use them more for talk recordings than for music--and the in-cord volume control is more useful than I'd anticipated.
I am tempted to buy more of these in other spiffy colors. But having read other reviews, I want to hang onto these for a while to see if I have a problem with their breaking within a year.

5 comments about Grado Prestige SR 125 - Headphones ( ear-cup ).
- I recently purchased the SR 80 headphones (they sound great!), not the 125's, but this may help buyers of this product who might be dismayed to see the 1/4" plug instead of the 1/8" on the end of the cord: The 1/4" end on my SR 80 cord was a threaded piece, and all I had to do was unscrew it to reveal the 1/8" connector for an MP3 player. So there was no need for an adapter. Give it a try with the 125's. That's all-hope this works for you.
- Product lives up to its technical reviews. Sound quality is excellent. Lightweight and comfortable, neither my wife nor I have had comfort problems with it, even when used for several hours. Recommended.
- Very high quality. Don't listen to the reviews that say you need a headphone amp. That's ridiculous. These phones can go plenty loud enough without. They are not super comfortable, but they are close. Clear, loud, neutral, perfect. A+++
- these head phones are killer, very light, and the open ear design makes what im hearing very accurate, the ear cup is very comfy ... love them!
the down side, they are cheaply made for the price, light is good, but use a light metal instead of shoddy plastic, the audio cord is also showing signs of wear already, i totally get that your paying for the "goods" and not the whole package, i for see me doing little operations on them just to keep them a float....but the sound they produce is wicked! if you can afford the 1000 dollar pair i bet they would be super duty rugged....i just didnt have the thousand, so, to the makers, great product, just make them nicer.
- im getting heavy into headphone since last year and ive got most of the sennheisers in my collection and now im going for the grados,i have 3 pairs since may brand new(the sr80-125-325,and im going for the sr1 in a bit and then some more after that,.i find the 125's to be very well made and the sound quite clear the bass is where i want it to be and this business about the earpads not fitting correctly is hogwash. the sr 125's deliver a truely great sound with the highs just right the mids are there in a way that you might not hear them on sennheisers but as far as bass comes in,the sennheisers are better.over all the sr125 grados are one set of headphones that will fit in any music scene and will be welcomed by any listener, and while true that breaking them in will sound better, those that do not know about breaking in grados shouldn't worry about it cause they sound great from the get go,and for the sound you get when you mate them with a headphone amplifier you can't beat the price.

5 comments about earBuddy Earbuds for iPod- Black.
- I own one in each color for my multiple pair of earbuds. I have to say that the only way to improve upon this product, other than offering more color combinations, would be to make it bulletproof, which it damn near is already. A wonderfully convenient and stylish accessory. Although $15 might come across as steep for such a small product, the cost becomes easier to justify as you begin purchasing more expensive earbuds. The $100+ Shure earphones are a sizable investment and must be protected. The Sendstation Earbuddy meets that demand better than any other product in it's category.
- The zipper is pretty crappy and cheap, sometimes it unthreads itself from just pressure places on the casing. Also its very tight and compact and makes putting the headphones in it a slow and tedious process. Not something I would recommend for someone that wants to quickly put away their headphones on the go.
- I purchased the earBuddy for my iPhone headphones. The iPhone headphones are a little bit different from standard iPod earphones because they have the little "clicker" built into the wiring. This made me a bit concerned when I ordered the earBuddy but I am very happy to report that the iPhone earphones work great in the earBuddy, too. I purchased the black one, and it comes with a very nice keyring so I have the earBuddy attached to my keys-- my earphones are now always handy. I would recommend these for anyone who wants a safe convenient way of storing your iPhone earphones.
- As the enthused owner of an new iPhone, I wanted to make use of its hands-free phone functions as well as its iTunes and video features, using the earbuds that came with the phone. But I didn't want one of those belt holsters that offer a kind of clunky-ish earbud storage. I wanted to keep the phone in my pocket--but where to carry the earbuds? The earBuddy earBuddy Earbuds for iPod- Black is the best solution I've seen so far. It's a little bigger in my pocket than I'd like, but as I wear mostly pleated pants with loose pockets--as opposed to plain-front jeans with tight pockets--it works out okay.
- This is a great product for keeping small sized earphones such as those for an iPod/iPhone or earbuds. It will not take anything larger tho. This is a nice compact case, but it is a tad difficult to wrap the cord around inside and get the plug to fit snugly. I think that after some trial and error I may figure out how to better pack my earphones, but all-in-all, I love this tiny case!

4 comments about TV Ears Headset Add-On.
- I'm hearing impaired, and very often television shows (especially older ones) don't have closed captioning. This is also maddeningly true with some of the newer movies, even from big studios. There's a law regarding closed captioning, but sometimes producers simply don't follow it. It's frustrating.
I have tried several headsets over the years with varying degrees of success. Bringing the sound directly to your ear vastly improves your ability to understand what is being said (it actually helps to use a headset instead of a hearing aid when trying to improve comprehension - I don't understand the physiology of it, but it works). What's unfortunate is that most headsets aren't designed for the hearing impaired. They're designed for people who want to listen to music as they roam around the house. This means that the headsets aren't optimized for voice enhancement, and instead deliver quite a bit of bass. Bass tones don't improve comprehension, they lessen it.
That's where TV Ears comes in. Yes, the name is a bit silly, but these things really do work. The first time I used them I had the silliest smile on my face, because for the very first time I was understanding what was being said *perfectly*. The sound quality was magnificent, and the voice enhancement that the product brags about is spot-on.
There's an added bonus.
TV Ears says that most theaters use the same technology that they do. I wasn't sure I believed that, so continued to use the (most often) old and sometimes dysfunctional headsets that theaters provide. Fed up with watching theater employees throw headsets into bins, and at least a 50/50 shot that when the movie started I was going to have to go back and exchange the headset, I tried the TV Ears. They worked. Instead of simply "booming" the sound, it was just like at home. They enhanced what was being said. I go to movies all the time, so now I "never leave home without" them. They're better than American Express.
- This item can improve a relationship between two people watching TV with different hearing capabilities! Easy to install and use...in fact I was able to mute the TV and only have audio through the device...good for late viewing regardless of hearing capability.
- I bought this for my father and after trying it out myself long to have my own.
- this is a great item as i have trouble sleeping at night and i can go to the livingroom and watch tv and not desturb anyone.

5 comments about Sennheiser HD650 Audiophile Open Dynamic Stereo Headphone.
- I've owed these headphones for 1+ years and use them everyday for most of my listening....CD, DVD, TV, vinyl, etc. OK, I'm a headphone guy. I have a fairly high end CD player and headphone amp from Musical Fidelity. The break-in period is extensive so, anyone writing a review before using the phones for less than 100 hours is probably too early. I like all types of music.
From the view of a layperson, I find the 650's a great fit to my listening preferences. The 650's produce a warm, balanced sound (for my ears) that is pleasant to listen to for extended periods without fatigue. Some may find them a bit heavy on the low end but it's hard to say because of the wide varity of recording styles and sources. The Cardas cable upgrade (pricey) tends to re-balance the sound by reducing the bass a bit. Others have strongly suggested a headphone amp to drive the 650's; I've never used them without one for comparison.
The headphones are comfortable but heavy compared to the lower end models. Workmanship quality is excellent.
Shop around for price.
- Don't get me wrong, these are excellent sounding headphones. They have good soundstage, very musical and warm sounding like you're in a concert hall. Only thing is I wish it had a bit tighter bass. I've had them for over a year now (bought these babies over eBay, its cheaper). BUT, they are extremely PICKY. Over the year i've spent big $ upgrading the cable, purchasing a number of amps just to get rid of that nasty veil. All along thinking that my amps weren't giving it enough power, but I was wrong. It was my source all along. These headphones will not sound good when you play mp3s though them. They will sound bloated, muddy, and veiled. I learned that the hard way. Well except for some, they sound decent. Most of my music collection is mp3. Most VBR or at least 192 kbps. But if you want to hear the best from these headphones expect to play only actual CD, vinyl, wav, flac, alac, or other lossless codec. Also I recommend a good DAC and headphone amplifier. So expect to spend at least 1k on your equipment to bring out the best of these headphones. Yeah, they are pretty cheap in comparison and a good value but they come with a price!!!
edit 9/27/08: mp3s actually do sound decent to good through these headphones but that will all depend on your DAC. a high quality DAC is HIGHLY recommended. none of those cheap $200 DACs. those will not cut it. get a good one and you will be rewarded. i recommend getting an Oritek modded zhaolu. those make CDs sound very close to vinyl. it's world class and no more of that digital harshness.
but of course, you can always get some Grados, those make anything sound good. even straight through an ipod. :)
oh yeah, and don't forget to upgrade the stock cable. it's crap. get the zu cable or the cardas. i had the cardas first and then i upgraded to the zu's. and i kept the zu's because they help bring out the highs more.
- The sound is far from muddy or boring.... it is luscious and warm. Colored? I feel so... but nothing is completely transparent. I started hearing so many things I've missed in the tracks I listen to every day on my infinity car audio system.
- I have listened to my music for the last few years using Paradigm Studios including the Signature sub woofer. I have come to appreciate the effortless sound produced by this system, not only its accuracy, but an exceptional soundstage as well. Headphones weren't generally necessary, but if they were, I did have an older pair of Denons. Well, my friend said she wanted my old Denons for her iPod, so I had a chance to look for something newer. I purchased the 650s. Simply said, get ready to hear what you've never heard previously. Good and bad. You hear the entire recording. Clearly. Incredible subtle nuances. You don't miss anything. Play your favorite SACD and it's like you purchased another recording.
As far as coloration, well to me that's subjective. If I were the engineer mixing the recording, I might believe they warmed up the sound just a small, small bit, but if I were listening just for the enjoyment, I'd say Sennheiser nailed it. Open. Transparent. Natural.
The only weakness, and I hesitate to call it that, is the sound stage. Although very accurate in their placement, the 650's don't match the depth and overall spatial presence of the Studios. But then again, with the 650s, I can turn my head or shift my seat and the soundstage doesn't float.
Folks, I'd say the Sennheiser 650s are a great investment !
- Just received my HD650's. Picked them up manufacturer refurbished for some decent $$$ savings from an authorized re-seller. My headphone amp (headroom portable micro) is due in next week so my rating is without a headphone amp. I am a Senn fan and own a couple pairs on top of the 650's (HD590 and PCX250 noise reduction). Compared to my 590's these have a much bigger sound stage and as previous posters have said you hear things in high quality recordings I never heard before with the HD590. As far as coloration goes or veiled response, I think that has to be a source material issue or equipment issue. Plugging these into my Marantz 8500 receiver and listening to an SACD or DVD-A is true bliss, just a little taste of heaven. MP3s sound great too, either plugged into the receiver or piped thru my logitec PC system (their top o line with separate headphone amp). Bought the portable amp for my ipod, figured it should increase my satisfaction with both the 650 and 590 while on the go. First time I tried the 650 was on a 256k MP3. The sound difference between the 590s and the 650s literally gave me chills and this is before the recommended "burn in".
I am by no means an expert, but love all kinds of music. Unfortunately (or fortunately) due to small kids and wife can't play my music at levels on my old AR9s like I used to. These HD650s are an awesome substitute. Pull the trigger on these and you will not regret it. They live up to the hype. Just make sure you buy them from an authorized reseller (like Amazon, not a third party seller) or the warranty is no good.

5 comments about Bluetooth WEP410 Headset.
- I find the bluetooth wep410 headset to be more than your average bluetooth headset. It fits comfortably in your ear and the sound quality is top notch.
- It's funny how a very small device could help you to talk in a very clear way. It comes with different sizes of plastic to make it fit in you ear perfectly.
- I generally enjoyed my two other Samsung Bluetooth headsets. This one will not stay in the ear. Got it? Yes, the volume buttons are not very user friendly. Yes, it's too easy too redial someone with the main button. But keep in mind, this one will not stay in the ear. Three sizes of adapters; four different ears. They sound quality was sometimes questioned by the other parties on the line ("Huh?"), but more importantly, this one will not stay in the ear. Maybe we have stupid ears, but Amazon is gracious enough to let me return it post paid.
- Before purshasing this headset I did my share of research. I ended up buying this one because of its small size and its price. I am happy to report that it was a GREAT buy. Even after accidetally puting it in the washing machine it works great. Great buy
- Great product. Works fine, only complaint is no earpiece loop. The rubber earpiece goes in you ear and fits snug, but if you move around alot or sweat alot then the 410 will fall out of your ear.

5 comments about Behringer High-Performance Studio Headphones HPS3000.
- Hey all you amateur record producers, would be engineers, and pro musicians out there!Just set up a new home based recording studio. Funds were tight,
so I purchased three pairs of Hps5000 headphones by Behringer. They sound awesome; good bass response, excellent highs. They sound so much better then my Yamaha monitors. The cons are they fit a little tight, but I`ve only used them about 3 to 5 hrs. I think by about the two month mark they should break in nicely.I also have a really big head; they may be fine for normal sized earthlings. So if you are starting out with a low end budget these are high end sounding for a great price.Run, don`t walk to buy these Hps5000 before they stop making them![ASIN:B000CCIVDO BEHRINGER HPS5000 HIGH PERFORMANCE STUDIO HEADPHONES]]
- Bass is deep and full, the things can withstand maximum volume from my PC with no distortion, even with bass boost. The higher notes are also crisp and clear. I listen to a lot of D&B and these phones put up with the sound very well. They are also very comfortable... I have owned two pairs for about a month now and they have not given me any problems. These sound like a pair of $70-$100 headphones but cost a lot less. Buy these and you will definitely be satisfied!
- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
the worst thing i have ever bought. heavy, huge, terrible sound. better off spending the money on headsets from Target.
- it's a grate studio head phones but i ordered 2 and only got 1 y is that amazon
- I purchased these headphones to use for with my guitar amplifier. All too often the only time that I get a chance to play is late at night, and we have neighbors(and a wife who does not always appreciate late night guitar sessions.) These headphones work great for this use. A longer cord would be nice though. They are comfortable and lightweight enough to wear for as long as you want, and have an adequate sound quality for my purposes. They are not BOSE noise canceling headphones, but for the money, they serve my needs and allow me to enjoy my music and allow my wife and neighbors to enjoy their peace and quiet.

- I'm no audiophile but I am extremely pleased with this product. Comparing it to the Bose buds - the bass is on par and the clarity might even be better. I use it on the plane and it sounds great, even without noise cancelling. Recommend for the average person who wants a good set of ear buds but doesn't demand the "excellence" of a $100 set.
- Bought these to replace my old earbuds (Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia In-The-Ear Headphones, White) were great, but they were getting a little old. These cost a little bit more but I thought I'd give them a try. Boy am I glad I did.. These have great bass response, very clean and clear mid-range and crisp, bright highs. The over-the-ear style works great, though it does take a little while to get used to putting them on. But once these are on, they're great. The Sony's didn't fit my ears very good (none of the cups fit perfectly) but these are great.
Overall this is an excellent product, especially for the price. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend.
