2 comments about Bose Large Replacement Ear Tips for In-Ear Headphones.
- Product: 5 stars (if it is the redesigned). But 1 star because you can get this item for free, so why selling it?
My husband bought the Bose In-Ear Headphones less than a year ago. Though he looooves the brilliant sound of the music, he had many troubles with the silicon tips, which fall too often. Since he is a daddy of a 2 y.o. that also loves music, you can imagine how soon he lost the silicon tips included in his purchase. He even considered to glue them, as my mother actually did (successfully, as she told me), but all his pairs were already unmatched. Looking for those on Amazon site I came across with a great advise from another reviewer (in similar product), who warned on not to buy the silicon tips, because on its website Bose was sending replacements for free. He did not include the link and it was not easy to find it, but I actually found it and he was right.
Bose acknowledged the poor design of these silicone tips, that's why they are correcting their mistake (if everyone do that...!). So, they do send a "Complete set of silicone ear tips (S, M and L)", well redesigned (apparently with a feature that impede the tips from falling) and by means of a free UPS 3 or 5-day delivery. Even provide a tracking number so you can trace the package. I must say that the items are well packaged.
You can also register for a free "Stability enhancement accessory", as I did. My husband is very happy with his new absolutely-free accessories, and enjoying the improved features of these little things. And so is my mom: I also ordered the two items for her as well. Bose's website says that they reserve the right to limit the quantities, but as far as I am concerned, I placed two orders without a problem, the two of them for both items.
[...]
However, if they change this link, try these words in their web search: "complimentary" or "replacement". They'll do the job.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THEM if you have already paid for this fine product. Just exercise your right to a proper consumer attention. Bose is great providing that.

5 comments about Apple iPod Lanyard Headphones for iPod nano 1G.
- I've been using the nano lanyard since it first came out and absolutely love it. It provides a very elegant way to listen to the nano without any extra clutter or dangling loops of wire to get in the way, snag or tangle. Basically, while wearing it, it's as though it's not even there. The connection is quite secure and takes a purposeful effort to detach. I don't see how a nano could fall off unless the connector were not pushed on fully to begin with.
I have only a couple of complaints/suggestions regarding the lanyard:
1. You're tied to standard Apple earbud sound quality. When I want to use my Etymotic ER6i buds, I lose the benefit of the lanyard. It would be great to have a higher-fidelity version or to have the buds themselves be detachable/swappable via a lightweight connector.
2. The lanyard does become dirty from rubbing against ones skin after many months, just like any article of clothing. I needed to wash mine (in a small bowl of detergent water, keeping the connector and buds out of the water) after a few months to keep them looking new and "un-gross."
3. Incompatible with the new Nike+ kit, meaning I can't walk with the lanyard and track the exercise. It would be nice to develop a lanyard either with the Nike+ built-in or with a pass-through 30-pin connector to allow it.
- These are part# MA093G/A -- Apple iPod Nano Lanyard Headphones for the 1st generation Nano ONLY.
For a new 2nd generation Nano, you need part# MA597G/A -- Apple iPod Nano Lanyard Headphones for the 2nd generation Nano ONLY.
The different Nano generations are different sizes and the lanyard connector are NOT interchangable.
- The paramount consideration for all prospective buyers of these Apple lanyard/headphones is this: You can ONLY use the supplied (and irrevocably-attached), Apple-brand ear buds. This raises two important considerations: 1) Apple's ear buds, ultimately, sound undistinguished, fit in the ear poorly and last a few weeks to several months before failing/beginning to fail; 2) You will have no (ordinary) ability to replace (or upgrade from) Apple's integral ear buds because the USB-connector fully engages the bottom edge of the Nano -- including, of course, the 1/8" headphone jack.
Now, anticipating this, I have resolved to either dismantle the lanyard base and solder a new headphone cord to Apple's 1/8" male plug (which is integral with the lanyard base), or I will use a cut-off wheel to remove enough of the lanyard base so that the Nano headphone jack is now accessible to any 1/8" plug. But then I will have to use electrical tape to wrap (and secure) the lanyard base and bottom edge of my Nano so that it doesn't pull away after having cut a third of it off.
Despite all of this, I still award three stars to Apple for the sheer innovation of this product. Plus, I bought it while being fully aware of the modifications ahead of me.
- I am not the kind of person who likes a band strapped around my arm, so these headphones are the perfect solution for me. I love being able to listen to music at the gym without having to find a pocket for my Nano or getting tangled up in long headphone cords. The adjustable lanyard keeps my Nano easily accessible for effortless music and volume adjustments and is quite comfortable. I can't imagine my Nano without this.
-
With Apple's iPod being the dominant player in the mp3 market, there is a panoply of Apple and third-party products to aid its operation. While the sound quality of the included iPod headphones has always been sufficient for my needs, they did not provide optimal placement of the player. Spending most of my mp3 listening time using free weights in the gym, I needed a secure means of carrying my iPod that wouldn't interfere with arm movements. The lanyard was the perfect choice. After hundreds of hours of use with the first and second generation lanyards, I have been rather pleased with both their sound quality and durability.
Given my experiences with other headphones and mp3 players, however, I would suggest two enhancements. First, there should be a means of detaching the iPod mechanically while the headphone jack is still connected. This would require two attachment points and some slack in the audio cable. I previously owned an inexpensive, nameless mp3 player acquired on eBay that has this arrangement. While less durable than iPod-lanyard combo, it offered much greater flexibility. With Apple's lanyard, the iPod placement becomes a hassle during exercises where a straight bar is brought down on the chest, such as bench pressing. With the previous arrangement, I could simply detach the mechanical cable and place the mp3 player in my pocket while still listening to my favorite songs.
Secondly, given my experience with the Koss Spark Plug earphones (see review), I would have preferred better sound isolation. The lanyard headphones do little to stop ambient noise, which is an issue in health clubs. In addition, the lanyard headphones just don't have the deep bass of the Koss product.
Having owned both first and second generation lanyards, I can't determine any difference between their construction or sound quality. In both cases, I paid roughly fifty dollars, which seems a bit exorbitant. However, this is to be expected with most brand-name iPod accessories. If you use your iPod while working out, cycling or walking as much as I do, you are certain to get your money's worth nonetheless.
Pros
Great for use during exercise
Durable
Cons
No non-lanyard mode
Difficult to use during bench press due to bar impact
Little sound isolation
Overpriced

- I use this earphone mainly when doing exercise and they meet expectations. They are a big upgrade for exercising vs the normal earphones that are introduced in the ear.
- I wore these for a run and couldn't even believe how bad these wore. I ran 3 miles and by the first half mile i had to take them off because they kept bouncing out of my ears. If you sit still these are decent headphones but even walking makes these bounce out. I have normal shaped/sized ears and was greatly dissatisfied with this product.
- great sound and feel. Th eprice is good also and i have 6 of these units for my family.
- These were really comfortable and worked really well. Im not the type that us picky about sound. The problems for me came with function, the plastic peices inserted into the ear are great but fall off all the time, I superglued mine on and recommend everyone who owns these does the same. The biggest problem is that after about a month the cord broke and I lost sound in one ear.
- This product has great sound. But the reason i bought it is because i thought it had adjustable ear loops... which it doesnt. they are just flexible, not adjustable. The insert that goes in the ear does hurt after a while... it might be because i have small ears. In any case an ok product but not what i was looking for or expecting.

5 comments about Sennheiser PX-10 Ultra-Lightweight In-Ear Headphones.
- The sound on these headphones has a bit more high frequency and bass boost than typical Senheiser headphones. However, unlike many headphones with this sort of a boost, the midrange still comes through with a clarity that is classic Sennheiser. The overall effect will probably be quite pleasing to people who think that Sennheiser headphones lack enough bass.
There is also a volume control device on the cord which is identical to what's on the Sennheiser MX-500 earbuds. I don't make use of this thing since the cord is only about 3 ft. long and any device you hook it up to is going to have a much better volume control button, but some people might like this.
These headphones are almost like earbuds, except that the way they fit into your ear keeps the ear canal open so that outside sounds and noises still get in. This has its pluses and minuses of course. If you need to hear what's going on around you for safety or work reasons, that's a plus, I suppose.
The headband is EXTREMELY light and loose. The plus is that I guess you will not feel any pressure at all on your head or ears from the headband, but the minus is that they do not have enough tension on them to pop the speakers into position in your ear by themselves. You will have to push the speakers in and hope that your ear anatomy will fit these rather large buds and that the fit will have enough friction to hold them in place. If they fit, then they sound great. If for some reason you can't get them to seat properly, these headphones will sound either tinny (too far away) or muffled (pressed too close in). The amount of bass you get will also vary with how well seated you can get the speakers into your ear.
So I'm fairly certain that some people will write in panning these headphones for the simple reason that they don't fit and so don't sound very good. But they do fit me just fine, with a little jiggling, and sound great.
I also have the Sony MDR-A44L, which look similar. The headband on the Sony is slightly tighter and is just about perfect for holding the earphones in place without causing discomfort. The Sony has even more bass, but the midrange lacks the clarity of these Sennheisers.
Overall, despite the loose headband, I prefer these Sennheisers to the Sony, but I should note that I have used Sennheiser headphones for years and prefer their sound. It's just whatever you are used to hearing.
- I have a Creative Zen mp3 player that runs off an AAA battery. With my Sony MDR-W20G headphones, I had to run the player at max volume (40)to get the volume I wanted for jogging (same with my old 64k Yepp). The Sennheiser is plenty loud at 30. It is difficult to find headphones with high enough sensitivity for this type of application -- the Sennheisers are great.
- I've ordered this headphone expecting to get the best of this type of headphone design (usually good for exercise) + the excellent reputation of Sennheiser for good sound quality. Well, the sound is indeed good (thus the 3 stars), as anyone would expect from this manufacturer, and it is really lightweight as the name indicates, but the design of the over the head support is too flimsy for jogging (it does not apply the minimum necessary amount of pressure to keep the thing tight in your head) and the ear plugs are too big (at least for my ears). The result is that is definitively not for jogging, since it will fall out of my ears every few seconds.
- The Sennheiser PX-10 "in the ear" headphones are well made and attractive but they have very poor high frequency response. Percussive notes such as symbols are barely audible and orchestral instruments like violins sound muddy. I don't recommend these phones for the audiophile. The Sony MDR-W20G, on the other hand, have excellent frequency response, are less expensive than the PX-10 and fold up for travel. For "over the head - in the ear" type headphones, the Sony MDR-W20G are the best I have tried.
- I love the seinnheiser brand and quality so i disregarded the reviews about the headphones not staying on your head during workouts. however, i use them for running and working out and its true, they pop out of your ears all the time when exercising. Also, noone has mentioned that there is a volume control on the wires. This would be great if it worked. I constantly have to make sure that it doesnt get wet and find myself adjusting it all the time to get sound out of the headphones. Now its so shaky its not even worth wearing. Great sound but i would get another pair

5 comments about Shure Replacement Foams for E2c Earphones - Medium 10 Pack (5 pairs).
- What can you really say about these things...make sure you get a good seal in the ears, the correct size is needed for proper fit and comfort. Try a few different sizes and types to see which you prefer, keep extras on hand for other people.
- These things are awful! They don't fit tightly on the shure headphones so then end up sticking in your ear canal when you take off the headphones. It's a mess, and it feels like it would be easy to get them completely jammed in your ear. Horrendous design! It never happened with the original shure foam earphones that came with the E3c's.
- I was surprised when they arrived. I bought these the same time I bought my Shure isolating earphones. Had I waited and tried what came with the Shure earphones I would have stuck with the black soft rubber ones that came with the earphones. However, these fit fine and work pretty well, they are not as comfortable and well fitting as the rubber ones though. There are also some clear stiffer soft plastic ones that come with the earphones that don't fit well at all because they don't flex to conform to the ear shape. I'd use these foam ones before I'd use the clear ones.
- First, I must admit that my ears must not be average. The original Apple buds that came with my Ipod would not stay in my ears. Even just sitting still, they would drop out, no matter how I tried to position them.
So, I read about Apple's in-ear earphones and decided to give them a try. Well, these come with three different sizes of smooth rubber inserts. After trying all three, none of them would stay in. The problem with those is that they formed an airtight seal within my ear and the compressed air would literally blow them out.
I read a review for the Apple in-ear buds, and it said that the solution was to try the Ec2 foams from Shure. SHURE enough, with the ability to pre-compress the foam and have them swell in my ear canals, the buds stay in place no problem. The only negative with them is that due to the curved nature of the Apple phones, they don't seat on the phones as nicely as as the originals. This is purely cosmetic and has nothing to do with function.
- I had read great reviews about these earphones. I also read that a lot of people hated them because of the fit. After owning the Shure earphones for several years, it came to me... Wet the foam first, then put them in. One day at the gym I used my syliva. Perfect, perfect fit.

4 comments about TV Ears Headset Add-On.
- I'm hearing impaired, and very often television shows (especially older ones) don't have closed captioning. This is also maddeningly true with some of the newer movies, even from big studios. There's a law regarding closed captioning, but sometimes producers simply don't follow it. It's frustrating.
I have tried several headsets over the years with varying degrees of success. Bringing the sound directly to your ear vastly improves your ability to understand what is being said (it actually helps to use a headset instead of a hearing aid when trying to improve comprehension - I don't understand the physiology of it, but it works). What's unfortunate is that most headsets aren't designed for the hearing impaired. They're designed for people who want to listen to music as they roam around the house. This means that the headsets aren't optimized for voice enhancement, and instead deliver quite a bit of bass. Bass tones don't improve comprehension, they lessen it.
That's where TV Ears comes in. Yes, the name is a bit silly, but these things really do work. The first time I used them I had the silliest smile on my face, because for the very first time I was understanding what was being said *perfectly*. The sound quality was magnificent, and the voice enhancement that the product brags about is spot-on.
There's an added bonus.
TV Ears says that most theaters use the same technology that they do. I wasn't sure I believed that, so continued to use the (most often) old and sometimes dysfunctional headsets that theaters provide. Fed up with watching theater employees throw headsets into bins, and at least a 50/50 shot that when the movie started I was going to have to go back and exchange the headset, I tried the TV Ears. They worked. Instead of simply "booming" the sound, it was just like at home. They enhanced what was being said. I go to movies all the time, so now I "never leave home without" them. They're better than American Express.
- This item can improve a relationship between two people watching TV with different hearing capabilities! Easy to install and use...in fact I was able to mute the TV and only have audio through the device...good for late viewing regardless of hearing capability.
- I bought this for my father and after trying it out myself long to have my own.
- this is a great item as i have trouble sleeping at night and i can go to the livingroom and watch tv and not desturb anyone.

- First of all, did I just read a review saying that these had too much bass? Thats crazyness these are just right. I will agree that bass is exceptionally strong at low volumes, it evens out and sounds excellent and balanced when the volume goes up. For the money I paid I have no complaints at all. These phones are really well balanced and clear, If I listen to metal I can still hear the voices where as all my other headphones tend to blend all the sound together. When I listen to acoustic and bluesy music, the highs are clear and sharp.
Another thing on my list of favorite things is the comfort, I have medium sized ears on a big fat head and these fit better than any I ever worn, I forget they're on! The cord is short, no longer than needed for a laptop or ipod/zune.
One last note, these headphones look much larger than they are, in person they are a perfect minature of studio headphones, really not big at all. I recommend these to anyone who wants cool headphones that sound great and fit like a glove!
P.S. The red Ryan Sheckler phones are exactly the same as the others, just with that black signature on the side, it looks cool in person though.
- I ordered the headphones and they didn't come with the plug and cable extension. I wrote to Amazon and the sent me another ones. Both of them were missing the same thing! So, I guess they actually don't bring those pieces Amazon says on the website. I guess is a mistake. A friend of mine ordered the green ones and they do come with the plug and the extension.
The headphones are great thought!
- I purchased these because I like to listen to music in quiet environments, and these are of the closed type, which keeps your music in and other noises out. For this low price (for closed phones), they perform well and they look great to boot. Another reason I purchased these is because most types of headphones hurt my ears. These, however are quite comfortable. I'm no audiophile, but getting decent headphones and not using bad ones such as the stock ipod ones makes an amount of difference that anyone can appreciate.

5 comments about Panasonic RP-HS48 Clip-On Headphones with XBS® Extra Bass System (Black).
- These are nice headphones, but they are very quiet. Since I bought these for work, I should be satisfied with the volume level as I could easily get in trouble if a supervisor can't get my attention.
But I think I'm going to see if I can find some louder ones anyway.
- I have found this inexpensive type of earphones to be superior to earbuds. One part goes over each ear (like eye glasses)- & the heads are hinged to swing into place. The comfort level is surprising. Unlike ear buds, they tend to stay in place.Performance is also superior to earbuds. The jack is pretty standard, fitting most audio devices, such as Walkman; iPod; my stereo. etc.
- I've had this model for 4+ years now; it is amazing how it survived for such a long time, especially being carried in my messy purse :)
Also in-cord volume control is a ver useful feature when it's hard to access the player itself and you want to just quickly adjust the music loudness.
The most important advantage is easiness of wearing. I could never stand earbud headphones since they don't hold in my ears at all.
- I really like these headsets. They do not hurt my ears and they stay on while running. I also like the fact that I can easily adjust the volume on the headset and I don't have to do it on my Ipod.
- Good sound & control due to volume control on system; however without fail the foam headphone protection comes off within 2 to 3 weeks of purchase. If you are careful not to lose them though; they can be re-attached with the very tiny amount of nail glue in the side ridge when you restretch the foam over the headphone. If it didn't keep coming off, it would rate a 5 for sure for the price!
