  1. I am very happy with this product. I feel the quality of sound is outstanding.

  2. Disappointing sound

I guess it is a matter of taste, but I was truly disappointed with the quality of sound from this Bose product. I am addicted to music and consider myself very critical when it comes to the way music devices sound. I have a set of Bose QC3 headphones which I consider sound quite well so, I was expecting these earbuds to sound close to the QC 2's. Unfortunately not. The bass response is quite good, the mid frequencies are OK but, the high frequency sounds like the cymbals in jazz or rock music are very poor. You have to listen carefully to discover that they are there. I own a pair of Sennheiser's CX-300 earbuds, and the difference is enormous. The Sennheiser's are crystal clear throughout all the frequency range, and the cost half the price of the Bose's. For classical music the Bose's could be OK but, if you are also into pop, jazz, new age, etc. I suggest you consider the Sennheiser's. They are as comfortable (or more) as the Bose's, they are more sound-isolating, and they cost about 50% less.

  3. If you're thinking about spending 100 dollars, then there are some considerations that need to be taken. First of all it all depends on the type of person you are. Are these headphones going to be used rigorously like for an ipod or mp3 player? Are they going to be used for a laptop? Have you ever had a broken pair of earbuds (ipod earbudes)? The point I am making is that these headphones are not very durable. Mine broke in about a year.

    Sound Quality:
Pros: Bose quality, Very good deep bass
    Con: Almost too much bass
    Comfort:
Pros: Very comfortable, probably the most comfortable earbuds on the market.
    Con: N/A
    Design:
    Pro: comfortable earbuds
Con: The earbuds always pop off!!! Major issue!! I lost all of mine, had to buy more on ebay!!, They will not last very long, mine broke....

    Overall:
I wish I bought Shure earbuds instead. I would not recommend buying these unless you don't mind the earbuds poping off all of the time, and how easily they break. However if you're set on buying bose products then make sure you have an extended warranty plan!!!

  4. I am delighted with my Bose In-Ear Headphones. There is nothing on the market to compare with the qality of sound they produce.
    Crane K

  5. Great sound, weird black and white twist earline (but look cool). My major complaint is the ear tip, every night I listen my mp3 with bose earphone and the next morning I have to dig under my bed to find the ear tip.

  1. Great sounding headphones for the price. The bass was a *little* distorted, but besides that, they sound great. Two or three people at my school have actually bought them themselves after borrowing mine.

  2. These were for my husband (a bass player).. lots of bass, and clarity on "highs"..loves 'em, and definitely worth twice the price.

  3. A litle bulky and tight at the beginning.
Great sound but definitely not very portable.

  4. These headphones emphasize the "DJ" part of the model name -- put these on and you'll feel like you're in a dance club. Too much emphasis on bass for me, but if that's you're thing then these are the cans for you. I use it with an i-Pod and found the sound quality vastly improves if I select "bass reducer" on the i-Pod's equalizer menu when using these headphones. Overall: good construction and comfortable, but not as balanced a sound as I'd like.

  5. These Sennheiser headphones feel extremely snug and secure. They come tight as ever and I wouldn't worry about them ever falling off of your head. The ear cup swivel feature is attractive, however i've only had these headphones and listened to them "swiveled" once or twice and it already feels somewhat loose. The headphones are also connected to the head strap by a thin plastic ball-joint which I can tell will already get loose very fast. As far as performance, after about 10-20 mins of listening, my ears are sore because they're so tight! They also don't fit around your ear but rather snug on top of it.

THE WORST part about these headphones was ordering from Amazon! The "SUPER SAVING" shipping method had an estimated delivery date of 2+ weeks after I placed the order.. however after the date had long past I knew something was wrong. I contacted Amazon and they had lost my package. Although they sent me a knew one free of charge and upgraded my shipping to regular fedex, it still took around a month for some headphones.

5 comments about Panasonic RP-HV162 Portable Earbud Headphones with In-Cord Volume Control.
  1. The sound is a lot like an old transistor radio speaker: muffled, tinny, weak. There are headphones and earbuds out there that will do a much better job for you.

  2. This is a great product, I am buying another set for my daughter. My son is picky about how the earbuds fit and feel in his ears and he loves these. The volume control is great too because he can lower the volume easily but he doesn't have to take them off to talk to someone. I really like panasonic products and as usual amazon got them here very quickly.

  3. I couldn't decide which headphones to order, so I bought these headphones, as well as Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia Earbuds, JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds JBDW, and Koss SportaPro Stereo Headphones 155475. All models were less than 20$ each and got good reviews.

After testing them, my conclusions are:
The Panasonic and the Koss are the best, and much much better than the Sony and the Jbuds. The frequency response of both the Panasonic and Koss is 20-25K while Sony is 20-22K and Jbuds is 20-20K. Frequency response is not the only specification to consider when buying headphones, but it is one of the more important ones.

When comparing the Panasonic and Koss - Koss are designed differently (on the ear vs. earbud) and it affects the sound, but I was surprised the sound wasn't reacher compared to the panasonic. I think Panasonic has a slight edge, as they are cheaper. But they have totally different styles so it is a matter of personal preference too.

btw - In the product page of the Panasonic, the headphones are shown with a carrying case, but mine came without. I didn't care for the case, so I didn't mind.

  4. Take precautions before purchasing it if you want a carrying case!

You need to ask each seller if they have these earbuds with the carrying case shown in picture; mine doesn't comes with it! Amazon mistakenly placed these pictures for all RP-HV162 and rarely they comes with this winding case.

  5. I got these earphones primarily for the volume control feature to use on my PC, so that I won't have to click around with the mouse everytime I want to change the volume. These turned out not to be so great for this because...

    a) The range of volume control is too minor to be useful. The sound difference between the min and max setting on the volume control is perhaps only 1/10 of total volume difference you can get by manually setting it on the PC.

    b) The volume control is set quite close to the earphones, so, unless you let the lines dangle in front of you, there's a lot fumbling around the neck trying to find the volume control.

C)the sound quality is also quite mediocre.

Overall, I'd recommend spending a little more getting a better pair which might be more functional.

  1. The sound quality is fantastic. It vibrates, giving your sound to another of your senses. And, it lights up, kinda worthless feature, but it is totally cool anyway. I STRONGLY recommend this item.

  2. I bought these for a Xmas present. I had read the reviews and they sounded good so I spent the money. I have had other headphones for more money that were not as good sounding. Also as a parent I can tell how loud the sound is in the headset by looking at the lights on the side and know if they are too loud. I am going to buy another pair for myself probably the 5+1 so I can compare the two. I really enjoy the product.

  3. im very satisfied with this headset...the sound is amazing on my laptop with just an onboard soundcard...the force feedback vibration is amazing...this headset made my gaming experience 10x fun...recommended for users who like high quality sound in music as well as watching movies and a must for gaming..

  4. These hurt my head so bad. I think it has to do with the weight. The audio quality is a joke. They simply must be lying about the frequency response. I should have known better when I learned it had built in lights!

Why did it get such a high rating?

    Some of the problems include:
-Painful headband (caused a headache within 30 minutes)
-Mic has a faint buzz and hum (not too bad for a headset)
    -Some paint was missing!
-The cans sound dumpy and inverted for some reason...
-The bass is cut off just before the heart crushing depth I enjoy with my VMODA BASS FREQ ear buds.
    -Vibration? Wow, neck massage. lol

Since it was so inexpensive I may just keep it as a reminder of how dumb I was for buying this. My $15 KOSS over-the-ear cans with a solid plastic headband cause less pain, and have a better frequency response than these!

  5. I race in two sim racing leagues and these are perfect. The vibration is a must in sim racing,I use dual Butt-kickers and the Edimensional Audiofx Gaming Headset and I feel I have a slight advantage on the competition.
The Edimensional Audiofx Gaming Headset give a huge sense of immersion and are a must in my gaming rig.Buy them and enjoy!

5 comments about Sony MDR-J10 h.ear Headphones with Non-Slip Design (Green).
  1. These are a good replacement for the ipod ear buds, which I hate! They don't cost much, they don't fall out of your ear and it doesn't bother me when I end up giving them away to my nephew and neice, when they lose their headphones.

  2. I ordered the green earphones but got a dark pair. You would think you would get the color you ordered. I am not so happy about my order. I just wish I had gotten the correct color.

  3. I've had these for a long time, like well over a year. They've held up fine, no problems at all, and I love that they're not earbuds. For some reason I can't wear earbuds, they give me a blinding headache almost instantly. And over the head earphones mess up your hair and get in the way of wearing a hat. These don't, which is really the main selling point for me. The sound isn't going to blow you away, but they truly are comfortable.
Mine are exactly the shade of green shown. I think they make them in a lime green, too, for more money, but this green is kind of like an herb green or an olive green.
I like that it has an adjustable thingy that you can push up to keep the two earpieces together. The cable splits apart but there's a little sliding plastic piece that you can adjust anywhere from at the Y split to right at the earpieces themselves, if that makes sense. It's great because it helps it stay relatively untangled. It does tangle some though, just to warn you, but it's pretty easy to straighten out.

  4. Great headphones at a great price they stay on your ears comfortable and sound great too.

  5. The generally positive reviews about sound quality and fit spurred me to buy this product, and I found that they were much too loose for my ears. I'm happy with the sound quality and whatnot, but I've gained minimal utility from this purchase, perhaps because my ears are not of the standard size. If you suspect your ears are similarly non-typical, I suggest going with something else. I did give these to my boyfriend, who has lovely, and probably normally-sized ears, and he commends their quality.

  1. these are my second pair of skullcandy headphones and just AS I EXPECTED they truley rock.

  2. Normally, I love skullcandy merchandise. But these chops feel like headphones from the dollar tree.
The sound quality is mediocre at best.
But the confort it provides is decent given that it stays on your ears because it clips there.

But what really makes these headphones terrible, and hopefully a flaw that most skullcandy headphones won't have, is the lifespan of the plug.
I've taken good care of my chops, and they barely lasted me 2 weeks before the plug began to act up, and die.

    Terrible product!

  3. Over the past few years, I've converted to buying skullcandy products. I have a pair of Smokin' Buds, as well as Lowriders. Both I am completely impressed with and love to wear.

Therefore, when I decided to get some over-the-ear headphones to wear for sports (I snowboard), I automatically went with skullcandy. BAD IDEA. Straight out of the package, I skimmed my iPod for a good song to test them out on. I tried them with Chamillionaire...the bass wasn't even audible. I tried Aerosmith...the high notes were grainy and unbearable to listen to. I tried Death Cab for Cutie...even the middle-ground notes were fuzzy and really made me want to just turn off my iPod.

They're comfortable, I'll give them that...but as for actually listening to anything with them on, probably not going to happen. And, for 20 bucks, I expect way more. Wal-Mart can give me $5 headphones that work better than this! I returned mine today (I bought them yesterday) and spent 10 more bucks for the Nike Vapors. WAY better.

Actually, anything would be better than these...

  4. I bought these as a replacement for some old Sony headphones that I have had for years. Now, I don't any of the ear buds nor do I own any of the other larger versions that this company makes. I do own one set of overpriced earphones that have a very tinny sound (tinny not tiny) that not only won't stay in my ears when I work out, they won't even stay in when I am sitting still. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair of ten dollar Sony's that stay in, have a good sound and block out any outside noise.

2 comments about Shure EA510M Soft Flex Replacement Sleeves (Black) for Shure E2c, E2g, I2c and QuietSpot Headsets - Medium.
  1. Out of all the different styles of sleeves for the Shure e2c earbuds, I like the black flex ones the best. The foam ones are annoying because it takes at least 2 minutes to correctly put them in, and the clear rubber ones put too much pressure on your ear.

The only porblem I have with these ones it that I you are doing anything except sitting perfectly still, you have to push them back in your ears every five minutes. It may not sound that bad but when you are walking somewhere it gets annoing after awhile. Also, they shouldn't charge this much for some stupid little peices of rubber.

All in all though, these allow my Shure e2c's to give great bass response and keep my ears very happy.

  2. Not much to say here. They're the same as the medium silicone sleeves that come with your E2 (or similar) earbuds.

I'm glad Shure makes replacement sleeves. Before I got the Shure earbuds, I had a decent pair of Sony in-the-ear, isolating buds ($40, if I remember right). When I lost one of those sleeves, it was impossible to find a replacement. Instead of perpetually spending $40 on a new pair of headphones every time I lost a sleeve, I went with Shure when I found out you could buy a ton of replacements. I suppose that's the difference between consumer audio and professional audio.

    Three cheers for Shure!

5 comments about Sony MDR-RF960RK 900 MHz RF Wireless Headphones with Auto Tuning.
  1. I bought these headphones as a Christmas gift to my husband in 2005. He loves them. And I love them more because he can go in the kitchen, mute the TV, and I can continue sleeping without having to listen the TV. When my parents were visiting this past month they really liked them and my Dad ended up buying one through Amazon. Needless to say, he loves them too. Since he's retired he has more time to watch TV or listen to music. This way he can sit in the family room and listen to the TV/Stereo without having to listen to my mother's noise in the background. He's even sat in the W/C and enjoyed his programs! A little static but not enough to be annoyed with.

  2. Good sound quality
Poor auto-tuning feature causes interferences and noise. Requires finding a good position and not changing position for good sound quality.
I have also a model without auto-tuning, which I recommend as much better selection.

  3. The sound quality of these head phones is quite good, but you will loose your religion tring to get a proper alignment on the charger.

  4. I really have to say that these headphones work better than I expected. I enjoy not having to deal with being wired to something. I use them at work and it is great to be able to get up and get things from other parts of my office.
The sound quality is good. The batteries last all day while I am at work. They are fully charged for use the next day. Save on having to buy batteries.

  5. I bought this with great regret after reading all negative vibe's on feedback. I thought I should just return them and look for something else. When I got the shipment, it was in a factory plastic container and I thought what the hell, open it and check it out at least. Well, I couldn't wait to use them. I placed a fresh set of Duracell Procell's in them and started listening. WOW! To my amazement, I could walk outside, walk anywhere in a one story house and hear clear as a bell. But wait, all that negative fb, I went back to read the manual/book. The supplied batteries are of the rechargeable type yes, but ONLY 1.2 volts each. Rechargeable AAA batteries [...] are 1.5 volts each. Any time you drop the voltage by more than one half volt (0.6V), the performance and range will suffer. Now I can understand all the negative feedback this product has received. Also read there are no replacement batteries available. Not true! I just showed you replacement AAA batteries above that contain 1.5 volts each. These head phones work great at 3 volts and I haven't tried the supplied batteries of 2.4 volts. 0.6 volt drop can cause issues agreed. I am happy with this product and glad I gave them a test drive. For the price I paid here at Amazon, the couple extra bucks you pay for real rechargeable batteries adds a small amount to the total cost. I recommend throwing the supplied batteries away, keeping them for back-up, buying real rechargeable batteries, or just use standard AAA batteries from Duracell or Energizer for maximum performance. Nice to be off the leash so to speak and walk around doing house chores and listening to TV or my favorite tunes from my computer with these cordless beauties. I like them a lot! Enjoy yours too!!

  1. The headphones have excellent quality and short of having a 5.1 sound system in the room they are really great. I have a hearing challenge in both ears, one worse than the other, and this headset is designed for people like me. I use them routinely for movies and other TV broadcasting that I want to hear better with the distractions in the room or just reflected sound causing a problem. I would recommend them to anyone needing hearing assistance or to have a better hearing experience.
