  1. Griffin's tunebuds are excellent in place of Apple's. Apple's would always fall out of my ears whenever I would go jogging or work on the elliptical. Griffin's, on the other hand, have not fallen out once! They come in several sizes (three, I think), and I'm currently using the smallest size which fits my small ears perfectly. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for an alternative earbud.

  2. The sound quality from these earbuds is truly amazing. They do a good job of blocking external noises.

  3. Good product, fits the ears very well, the sound is a bit tinny, but if you have an EQ or bass adjustment, you will be fine.

  4. One channel stopped working a month after I bought them. It wasn't the connector because jiggling the connector had no effect. I treat my earphones well and have never had this problem before.

  5. Really good for listening audio books, unfortunately nothing else. Bought me 2 pairs for a trip. Both are absolutely the same in quality. 2 stars just for the price and a cute case they comes with ;)

  1. Awesome. I heard notes in songs I loved for years, that I never heard before. Even better after the quick burn in period.

  2. pretty nice.

Not as crisp as one would expect when it comes to voices, however, overall very very nice.

  3. First off, if you are looking for noise-canceling headphones, you are looking in the wrong place. These are open-back headphones -- meaning they will let all sound in and out... they are NOT built to be noise-canceling. And if you are looking for iPod or other MP3 player headphones, again, wrong place.

But if you're looking for headphones to use for home listening that have amazing sound quality and are super-comfortable, you're in the right spot! These are great.

  4. My Autistic son is receiving vestibular therapy and these headphones are pretty much the best in the market, they fit comfortably and are light.

  5. Bought these about eight months ago to replace my wireless sennheiser phones that didn't work.
These sounded good, but not that good. Not for the price. Strong bass, clear sound, comfortable fit, and excellent sudo-surround. I just think Sennheiser could do better for the price. The bass isn't as clear as it could be, or quite as strong, and they won't get as loud as I would like. Although, they probably get loud enough for most reasonable people.

  1. What a great review by N. Pardo. I couldn't agree with him more. These in ear monitors are the best you can buy anywhere near this price. The detail is incredible, but the overall sound is very smooth. The frequency response is very flat, leading some people to feel they are short on bass. This is not the case. The bass is all there, it's just not bumped up to unreal levels. They lay out a huge soundstage and you almost forget you are listening to ear buds at all. What is on the cd is what you will hear. Female voice is especially wonderful. All vocals have a you are there reality to them that I have rarely heard from headphones at any price. As you can tell, I am very excited about Ultimate Ears Super.Fi3 Studios. If you are familiar with what music is suppose to sound like I think you will be excited too!

  2. I purchased Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 Studio Earphones after my Bose In-Ear headphones shorted out at the plugs. I figured, for the money, if the Super.fi's ever shorted out, they have user replaceable cables that you can order from their site for $20. I didn't expect the sound from these earphones to be the quality of the old-fashioned over-the-ear headphones. I purchased the Super.fi 3s because I listen to mostly Jazz and audiobooks. The quality of the sound is just something you'd have to experience yourself. They harken me back to the first childhood memory I have of putting on the HUGE over-the-ear headphones my brother-in-law had and the awe and simplicity of being wrapped in sound. I would recommend these headphones for anyone who is fed up with cheaply made phones that just don't stand up to real-world commuting and for irredeemable audiophiles. They work great when wearing glasses or goggles, too, so don't let the around the ear bit scare you. The wire is bendy up by the ear. If I had $600 to spend, I'd buy the custom Ultimate Ears but, the C.E.O.s are the only ones making enough money to pay back their student loans AND have a life.

  3. When I first got these, I thought the sound was better than my default Ipod earphones, but the sound to me was still muffled. I used them mostly when I worked out and often times the seal would detach from my skin and the plug would fall out, even looped over my ears. Still they worked ok so I kept them.

This week they completely stopped working and I purchased these earphones on February 20, 2008! They no longer transmit volume from my Ipod and lasted a whopping six months. Don't waste your money. Read reviews from people who had have the product for a while before spending $ on electronic gadget or accessories.

  4. I was excited to try these and as soon as I opened I realized they weren't going to work for me.

The cord is too short. I like to golf w/ my ipod in my pocket and the cord is just not long enough. And it's always getting bunched up and doesn't lay nicely.

The ear buds are a pain in the butt to get in place (in your ears). If you need to remove the buds a lot, these are not for you.

The sounds quality is definitely excellent...but that's not enough for me. I'm going to go buy anothe rpair of the $20 Sony ear buds that have worked great for years.

    ...And don't tell me I didn't follow the directions...BECAUSE I DID!

  5. These are a replacemnt for the Shure e3c headphones I had. Reviews I read gave the ultimate ears a good alternative to the pricey Shure headphones. The sound in one of the Shure phones was crackling and decided to get new ones. With the ultimate ears, you can replace the wire, which is a better alternative than buying new headphones!

  1. very tinny sound - no base despite the fact that they highlight powerful base on front of packaging. iGado, much better.

  2. Very Good product. It does not produce the full base response you get from the in ear products senheiser makes, but I purchased these to wear during lawn work and walking. These are perfect for any physical activity. They sound good and they stay on...

  3. The PMX 200 sounds incredibly clear. It sounds less bass-heavy than the PMX 100, but it has stronger midrange and high presence. The only issues I have with it is the flimsy appearance and uncomfortable fit for long durations. Overall they are excellent headphones in terms of sound quality.

  4. The first time I purchased this was on a clearance rack and I just picked them up to run with while I had my Ipod. These things are great. The bass response is awesome and the treble is crystal clear. I would recommend these for anyone looking for a great set of headphones for a great price.

  5. If bass is real important to you, these are not your headphones. But considering the price, the sound is very good. Putting them on and taking them off is a little awkward with the strange ear hook things, but I guess I'll get used to that. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

  1. I took the few good reviews and convinced myself that I could make this work. I was a fool. Even if a few people have gotten them to work, they're still a crummy product.

  2. These headphones are inaudible under water.

They are also uncomfortable to wear.

You can not hear the music under water.

    Not recommending these.

  3. I was excited to listen to music while swimming, so I bought and Otter box, and H2O Swimbelt and the H2O headphones. The system worked except for the horrible headphones, they could not keep water out, I tried it every way I could. Got some audio in one ear for two swim laps,...very frustrating (and expensive). Very reluctantly I tried another set of headphones (just this week): the Aquapac Waterproof Headphones. they worked 100%. I cannot say how long these will hold up, but I know they work now. The H2O Audio phones never worked (and were very uncomfortable).

  4. These headphones will only work with the H2O waterproof cases. I bought them for my wife as a valentines day gift. She absolutely loves them. I tried them out and they sound great. Granted, most of the benefit comes from the sound isolation that is created when you go underwater. Great product.

  5. Ok so when you first put them on it sounds like your in a tunnel. When you go underwater the bass kicks in and it actually sounds GREAT. HOWEVER you can't (at least I couldn't) go to deep cause my ears plugged up. if your swimming on the surface and under water they are great. If you don't mind your ears plugging up then by all means don;t pass it up due to that fact. To bad this product doesn't come with a air tank cause once your underwater your going to want to stay there. so in closing totally buy!

  1. These ear buds are a wonderful improvement to my regular ipod phones. The
sound is that much better and for the price they are 5 Stars. The accessories (the cable winder and sponge covering ) are ok. A little goofy. The sponge is hard to adjust to the ear buds and the winder is a rectangular waste. I use my ipod for working out and running. They are extremely comfortable and are much easier than the buds that fit into the ear canal. The sound is that good and they stay in place, at least for me.

  1. BUYER BEWARE. This piece of junk is NOT sound canceling, and it can clearly be hear by other people in the room. The quality is below average compared to buds, and rest on the ears weirdly. The "amazing bass quality" that people rave about is sub par. Do not buy, go sony instead.

  2. These headphones rock. Easily the best I've owned. Make sure to listen loud, that is where these shine! These are high quality all around and a good deal, especially with the album download. Great sound, great style. I personally haven't tested to see if others can hear the music when I'm using them, as I do not care. I bought these for my listening and that's all I've been concerned with.

Oddly though, Death Magnetic might not be the best album to listen to with these given the records screwy mixing. The songs are great and all, but you should test these out with something else. I think Black Label Society can show the power here.

My only complaint is the cord is pretty short, which is an easy enough fix. They could be a little more comfortable, but I wouldn't say these hurt my ears or anything.

  3. What can I say. Metallica and Skullcandy. They go great together. The only reason this got four stars is the size of the cups on the headphones. If they were a little larger diameter they would be a five star for sure. (I have large ears). They still fit ok, they just could be a little larger. The sound is phenomenal from them and for the price where you can't go anywhere else. They seem very well constructed also.

  4. Beautiful sound quality out of these headphones, especially at loud levels. I expected there to be some distortion when cranked over to full volume, but there is almost none. At least 5 times better sound quality than my Lowrider's that i upgraded from.

As for looks, they bring attention, but they are not over the top like some other Skullcandy headphones. The leather on this feels really nice and it has a snake skin pattern to it that you can't see in the photos. They fit on my head really well, and fit over my ears even with my industrial in, and I have a fairly large head.

i would recommend these to anyone who likes their music fast and loud, and needs headphones that can keep up with it.

  1. I bought these after trying a friend's, because the earphones that came with my iPod hurt my ears. These are really comfortable and stay in until I start to sweat. After about 30 min of cardio exercise, (running or elliptical) they begin falling out. I have to keep stopping, wiping my ears, wiping the little rubber thingy, and jamming them back in.

I've tried all 3 different earpieces that it comes with and this didn't alleviate the problem.

Bummer, because they are comfy. Also, sound is not as good as the iPod earphones. Bass is lacking. Ordering a new pair today that clips to the ear. Will see how they are.

  2. These headphones sound WORSE than the one's that came with my Ipod touch. There is no low frequency response. Turn the volume up and you have piercing high frequency only. I regret purchasing these headphones

  3. I love the headphones. Better sound quality. Nice look. Most of all, very easy on the ears.

  4. The sound quality and comfort are fine, but you can hear a loud thumping through the cord as it bounces on your body during a workout! Very odd. I have other headphones and have never had this problem before.

  5. They look good. they have the "One side is longer than the other" thing going on.

  1. I got a pair a year back when they just costed 10$, the sound qualty is supierior to anything else on the market for under 40$. the accoustics good , you would hear instuments and tones that you wouldn't hear from from most home systems.

On the down side, they lasted about a month. One of the wires developed a short, and the in-line volum developed a dead spot, the silecone buds would get dirty a dried up from dust and use, rendering performance and the sound reduction. The silecone buds also, have a tendency to come off, but that's and easy fix with super glue.
Dont plan on moving or doing anything active with these buds, cause you'll hear the cords vibation eveytime you move. it creates a stehoscope effect that over powers the music.

  2. I didn't read through many of the previous reviews before buying these earbuds. I was looking for a mid-priced set of earbuds that have an inline volume control. These seemed to fit the bill.

I got them and put them in. First off, they're very comfortable. They seal nicely and provide some very good isolation.

The bad part is that they have almost no midrange. I can hear tons and tons of lower freqencies and some pretty good (not great) highs. But midrange was almost entirely missing. It makes my music sound terribly muddy and vocals are almost non-existent.

    I guess I'll keep looking....

  3. The audio quality is fine.

These things need to be pushed far--too far--into your ears to be in place. Yet, if you are moving about, they will still fall out easily.
I lost several hours of sleep last night because the skin of my ear canal hurt after wearing these for 45 minutes earlier in the day.

  4. These earphones are what I've been wanting for a long time. Something affordable but not cheap. These earphones are the best you can get without spending an arm and a leg. The sound quality is top notch, like you're listening to a 2 grand sound system in a car. The sound is crisp and the bass thumps nicely. Also, I can use them to jog if I run the bud over the back of my ear and bring it down upside down into my ear. This has the wire rest on the back of my ear so when I jog the earphones don't jar out. The case that comes with it is nice and protects all of the product.

Overall: Amazing both in sound and stability.
    I recommend these to everyone!

    -Glenn

  5. I got a white pair of these for my birthday in April, and they were fabulous. The sound is crisp, and you have great volume control. The bass is also great for people that really like heavy-bass music.
And then, in August, all the sudden, the right ear broke, and just stopped working for no apparent reason. I can live with that, so I just let it go. But then 3 days later, the left ear broke just like the right one! No matter how many ways I positioned it, or cleaned it, they just wouldn't work.
They lasted 5 months....not so good....

2 comments about Arriva cordless iPod Shuffle headphones with ipod-type earbuds.
  1. I ordered these with the ipod style earbuds because I can't stand in-your-ear earbuds. But at first, they sent me the in-your-ear style due to a computer problem. When I contacted them they quickly sent me the right kind, with a postage paid return envelope, telling me to try them both, keep the one I want, & send the other back. So I had a chance to try both.

So...on the earbuds, it just depends on what you like. I tried them both, & went with the ipod style. Aside from personal preference, there's nothing to choose between the two types, except the the in-the-ear type is anchored to your ear canal, which holds the earbuds in place a little better, and perhaps a little of the streetnoise is muffled with the in-the-ears. But I just find this kind uncomfortable.

The device works as advertised. The thing kind of hangs on to your head using the wires around your ears. The wires are not easy to adjust precisely, but it doesn't really matter since an approximate adjustment works just fine. The shuffle itself seems to be upside down when you look at it after it's inserted into the device, but once you get it on your head, the controls are intuitively placed & easy to adjust.

The thing is practically weightless, and is not likely to come off, even if you are running. The shuffle is securely connected and will not fall off once properly inserted. And the device will not work unless it's properly inserted.

It seems to me to be more practical than the full earmuff type of headphones. The sound is perfectly acceptable for the price range. Obviously, they are not as good as, say, the Bang & Olafsen earbuds, but they are fine for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, & popular music. Actually, classical is okay, too, as long as you are not one of the picky sort of listener. In which case, you shouldn't be using earbuds, anyway.

Both versions appear to be well constructed, and likely to outlive your shuffle. They come with little padded bags, about 2 1/2 inches square, which will hold the earbuds & the shuffle. This is useful if you throw the things into your purse or bag.

  2. I use my Ipod shuffle running, biking, walking and skiing and... spend an awful time untangling the earpiece wires from pockets, sunglasses, etc.
I tried the Monster shuffle earphones; they are completely useless if you are moving; won't even stay in place if you walk slowly. I returned them to Apple store the next day and took the time to explain deficiency to store personnel.
So I was delighted to read about Arriva in NY Times and ordered it.
The Arriva is comfortable, stays in place with all activity, sound is ok for my ears.

Good and bad news: the first one delivered had faulty sound..unacceptable sound, and I thought Oh No, here comes a big hassle. But one e-mail, responded to in same day, acknowledged deficiency, replacement arrived 2 days later (just today) and seems fine.
Easy to adjust functions with the shuffle on back of neck and quickly you don't even know its there. No bluetooth, no extra batteries, no added complexity, just great creative design.
