  1. My students appreciate these headsets. They use them for listening to on-line music while practicing typing; MSN chat; to practice using the Speech feature in Microsoft Office; to create sound files, dictaphone transcription and more... These are sturdier than the brand I formally purchased.

  1. First of all, I did order from myGearStore.com as last reviewer suggested. It was packaged in the wrong box which was for the Apple headphones with remote. These were just Apple headphones rewrapped poorly and stuffed in the wrong box. Also note that the headphones sent to me were the older version without the pull mechanism that prevents tangling. This version of the headphones has not been available for over a year. New Apple headphones come with 2 sealed sets of foam covers, this box contained 1 set that wasn't sealed. Amazon should reconsider having myGearStore do business with them. I am forced to give a 1 star rating because a 0 wasn't available. I am sending a copy of this review, along with a letter, to Apple Computers. They too should be aware that someone is deceitfully selling their product. These weren't even discounted. Apple, along with most stores, sell the correct headphones for the same price. This is clearly a sneaky way to get rid of an old, possibly used, product. Very dissapointing.

  2. The headphones arrived late, they are not the real iPod headphones and they just broke after 3 weeks!

  3. The item came in poorly sealed packaging, I was surprised it didn't fall apart. The item also looks like a knock-off version of advertised products. Guess the seller didn't explicitly say the product was made by Apple, but packaging, picture, etc tried to make it seem like it was. Bottom line: spend a few extra bucks at another vendor.

  4. These arent Ipod headphones, they are a cheap version. When they arrived they were in a poorly wraped package, I will be returning them for a full refund.

  5. not the best sound quality, no volume adjustment, but ok for the price; very similar to the std i-pod headphones

  1. I wrote an initial review that praised these headpohones, but after a recent breakdown, I had to readjust my rating from 4 to 1 star. Below is my initial review followed by the update:

I can't really say whether these reviews are accurate or not because I've only had my pair for 9 days (they were a Valentine's Day gift). I can say this much: so far, so good.

    The Cons:

Like others have stated already, the sound is good, but not great and they don't get very loud (the bass is virtually nonexistant too). The coord is long, but it's also incredibly flimsy for a set that's supposed to be high quality.

    The Pros:

I gave these a 4 star rating simply because, so far, they're durable, they're affordable, and (despite what I've read) quite comfortable -- in my opinion. I've spent hours and hours spinning records with these on and I haven't had any discomfort (I should mention that I have small ears). Despite the heavy mileage I've already put on them, again, I may not be the best judge because I've only had them for 9 days. The package also contains a few cool skullcandy stickers, an adapter for stereos/mixers and the like, a nice looking travel bag that has room for more than just the headphones, and a pair of black ear cushions if you don't like the camo.

My personal opinion as a DJ:

While these aren't the worst headphones out there, you should probably go for something better if you have the cash. I swear by the Senheisser brand, but those and other high end brands can get a little expensive depending on the quality level you want. I think Skullcandy spent more time on the cosmetic aspect instead of focusing on performance, but I'd easily recommend these to beginners or those that want a more affordable, above average set of headphones.

We'll see if I can say that they're durable 6 months from now though. I'll update this review if they turn out to be crappy, but so far they aren't.

Update: March 12, 2007 Like most of these reviews have stated, these things don't last. I went to turn my set on and they just gave out on me -- I haven't had them for more than a month (it'll be a month on the 14th). I haven't dropped them or yanked the cord or anything of that nature, yet my headphones have failed on me. For that very reason, I reduce my rating from 4 to 1 star. These things are terrible.

  2. I purchased these headphones about a month ago and they are a great product. Great sound and design. The look is impeccable. The thing that got me real pumped was that it was sent in the actual packaging unopened. I expected to just get the headphones in a random box. Great shipping. GET THIS PRODUCT!!

  3. Don't waste your money on these things! You can get a far better pair of headphones for comparable or less money spent. These things are nothing more than a marketing scheme to sell a look and fashion accessory. These headphones sound terrible and are very uncomfortable. TOTAL P.O.S.!!!

  4. At first i loved the look but after like 2 weeks the right headphone snapped and made wearing them imposible i am NOT satisfied at all and i wish i got the one year cover on it

  5. Despite the low reviews for these headphones, I purchased them in the hopes of getting a better sound from my Zune. At first The sound was soft while listening to music and videos. In order to get a better quality of sound, your music files need to be uploaded to your Mp3 player at a higher quality, 192kbps or better from within the Mp3 player program (ex. zune program, itunes etc). After doin this the sound quality became a 100% beeter and louder with a good range of bass and treble. Movies sound great as well, voices and sound effect are great. The headphones reduce the outside noise a lot but not completly.
