- These were not comfortable on my head, they were too big and combersome (I am female), but they fit my husband fine and he's who uses them. The sound is great but despite what they were advertised as, they do not keep the sound to themselves. I could hear my husband's tunes when I was sitting next to him. I'm not sure how comforatble they'd be for using long periods of time, they hook on your ears. But honestly, I'm not that impressed with them. A good buy, I guess, if you have a large head.

5 comments about JVC HAF120B Gumy Headphone (Black).
- These buds are definitely a step up from the standard iPod buds. They stay in your ears much more easily (without the foam black covers, which are easily lost), the sound is at least marginally better, and the overall construction seems to be better. You can't do much better for the money.
However, if you're willing to spend a little more, the JLab JBuds are the way to go. I own both the Gumys and the JBuds, and the Gumys are my workout pair, and I use the JBuds for everything else.
But if you're looking to spend as little as possible yet still upgrade from the iPod buds, the Gumys are the way to go.
- I am satisfied with my new headphones. They're are very convenient in the workplace as well as my iPOD. Nice clear sound and nice length on with the connection wire.
- If you are looking for a good pair of earphones and don't want to pay alot of money, I highly recommend these. I bought these for an MP3 player, mostly to listen to audio books, but some music as well. They perform quite well (better than iPod earphones I think) with good sound quality. Power is more than sufficient (I have to turn the volume almost all the way down so that its not too loud). My only complaint is the comfort. They are reasonably good for about 30min then start to hurt my ears. They fit relatively snugly, but do not block the ear canal, so they do not block out outside noise.
I havent tried the more expensive buds, but when I bought these I didn't want to pay a ton of money for what I was using them for. If you want an inexpensive set that works well, these are great.
- Purchased these ear buds for iPod. Regular buds never fit right and I hoped these "gumy" headphones would be soft enough to hold their shape and stay in place. No such luck! Gummy seems NOT to refer to the part where the bud connects with the ear. Sound quality very good, buds just not comfortable enough for me. My man likes them, though.
- I bought these after I finally wore out my standard iPod ear buds from working out, traveling, etc. Wow! These have a much fuller range of sound, from fairly low bass to high pitches, and the overall balance feels very "right." I always thought the iPod headphones were too high on the treble, not enough bass, and a little flat in mid-range. These cheap JVC headphones are a real bargain!

- My problem with headphones in general is that ear buds fall out when I move around, and regular headphones never line up for me comfortably. They just don't. I was going to try a neck model when I saw this. It solved the problem! Each one simply connects to your ear with a sunglasses-like hook, and it's there to stay. I'm not a sound geek, and I'm sure that they aren't at the top of the list in terms of all the audiophile lingo. But hey -- I listen when I exercise, in airports, and other places where there's noise and distractions -- not a sound studio where I plan to analyze each instrument's contribution to the harmonious mix yada yada yada. And these absolutely do the job. I'm going to buy another set soon, just to have in case I ever lose or break these. I'd pay twice the price, happily.
- This headset lacks in loudness. and the clips are flimsy.
It states specifications about Bass, but just because it's good at bass, it more than likely lacks in the tweeter side. And has low impedance and sensitivity.
I used an RCA Lyra with these headsets and I could still hear people talking to me at the loudest setting. I may go deaf, but I know sound and it's ranges. Not a good headset.
Since the RCA Lyra is a lower end MP3 player, it's a good tester for headsets and I have enjoyed this small player. Also, I am clumsy and drop my player all the time, so a hard drive player is not an option.
Sony MDR-Q22LP w.Ear Headphones with Interchangeable Headphone Caps - is actually a good headset for loudness. The ear clips are secure and tight enough. But the cord material is sticky so it's not good to work out with (running would be fine) and tangles easily. Lasted a long time 3 years, before my friend crushed it with a 45lbs dumbell.
Philips HS520 Reflective Neckband Headphone - NICE and LOUD, I had to turn down the volume, sound range is good. 12Hz is pretty low in bass range in my book for a headset. 24kHz is high enough for tweeter on a headset, some have up to 28kHz, but I am more interested in Loudness and what I can hear. It's a rearfit, it's snug, so if you have a HUGE head it may take time to get adjusted to. But Damn, Nice and loud!!! This is my headset! I can't hear anyone now Woohoo!!!
the cord is nice, it's made of nylon so it doesn't stick and it's not so long that you have to wrap it up... Good headset for the money!
Sony MDR-V150 Monitor Series Headphones with Reversible Earcups - is an excellent headset for this player, sound range is FULL and vibrant and LOUD for such a small player. But not good to work out with and costs more.
HiNRG and Dance music is the best to test out headsets. This style of music uses ALL ranges.
- I have had a lot of experience with this line of Panasonic headphones, and have always found them to be reliable, long lasting, and comfortable. however, I personally liked the non-bass ones a little better.
- The headphones were not blue, which is what I ordered. I do not notice any extra bass. Not that impressed with this item.

- Since my shure e5's are clear this is the perfect choice for sheer looks, but for sound they strangely seem to miss a bit of definition when compared to the yellow foams. (also from shure)
That does not mean that the clears are not worth something, unlike the foams they are very easy to put on/off your ears, practical at starbucks and in the office when people get the silly idea you are there to answer their pressing questions.
4 stars, sound not as good as the yellow foams, but much easier to take on and off and the looks can not be matched, that ought to be worth something in Los Angeles.
- I have a SonyEricsson K750i, with W810i's earphones, I buy this sleeves for this earphones and its a very good replacement for the originals, and I love transparent sleeves. Don't make changes in how sounds the music or phone conversations.

- All of my friends told me to buy earbuds for better sound when listening to my ipod, but most earbuds are too big and hurt my ears after about ten minutes. These ear buds are soft and small and I can listen to music for extended periods of time without any discomfort. They are also really cute~! ^__^
