5 comments about JVC HANC250 Noise Cancelling Headphones.
  1. I've been through a variety of moderately priced head phones for my MP3 player. These are comfortable, for the most part. The noise cancelling is good not spectacular. My biggest complaint is that when using the EQ and the bass boost on my MP 3, these headphones, like the several other $100 dollarish sets I've tried tend to break up at higher volumes. If you wanna crank up hard rock these might not be what you're looking for but for audio books, or other lighter listening they're great.

  2. Purchased for a trip to Europe. Worked well on the flight over but broke when taking off my head in the airport before returning. The construction is very cheap plastic, putting great stress on the normal break points. I would not recommend.

  3. Without noise canceling:
The sound is Ok, not the best but good enough.

The big plus of this product:
In the air, on a plane ... Incredible!! It seems like you are not on a plane anymore.
I can't fly without it now.

  4. No hiss produced into your ear from the noise-canceling circuitry unlike most such headphones!! The bass isn't mushy unlike the Bose but you might want to use a bass boost setting so you can listen quietly and still get a fuller sound. The cord come off for noise-canceling alone. They are on the ear like the Bose 3 not over the ear like the Bose 2. This is NOT obvious from the pictures. Comes with a flexible but solid case for safe storage in a backpack, it also include a zipping pouch in the middle for storing adapters and charged NiMH batteries. At first I was worried about the clean but tame sound but then I changed a setting on my Onkyo TX-SR805 and the sound opened up. The fact that I HEARD it open up means it can deliver a clean and open sound if supplied with good source material. The battery changing is HORRID. It should be easy like the very hissy but convenient Philips HN 110 and load from the OUTSIDE. The jacks are mini style but it has an adapter for the 1/4" jack on you receiver. The relatively short cord length is designed for traveling without it catching on items or dragging on the ground thus you should get an extension cord for home use. I haven't tried these on an airplane yet but they appear to be built for several hour of use with comfort. Make sure you have each cup squarely on each ear or you may still hear too much noise. Just listen for the ambient noise to sound more muffled and THEN flip on the switch to have the noise to drop down to a whispering whir, plus people talking (for safety), and then turn on any optional music or movies.

  5. I recently bought this noise canceling head phones and I found them really good. There are very few minor problems but overall its good.

I have done little bit research on noise canceling head phones before buying one...and I feel its not wasted...the problems I faced are same as faced by some other reviews.

Let me tell about the cons first...

    1. Battery placement...It can be outside somewhere...every time, I think of taking out the battery, I feel like breaking the ear cups...stupid design (I gave 4 stars just because of this...)
    2. The cord can be bit more of length. Its very short
    3. Volume control
    4. Some what costly for me, but ok with the competition...

(2 and 3) can be done by buying an extenstion cable with volume control for $10 but for the first problem, we have to put up with that.

    Pros:

    1. Bass is good.
    2. Works great even without noise canceling ON, please look at the impedance in specs...its 96ohms(less is better) which is great when compared to senheissar and Audio Techica's and Bose doesn't fit here...
    3. Comfortable: neither exactly over the ear nor on-the-ear but I feel its a nice design covering either design problems
    4. Looks good and light on ear...ofcourse, the kit holder is also good...
    5. I have seen some reviews saying about the amplication of sound when Noise canceling is ON...but its ok as you can always reduce the sound but dont think noise cancelation doesn't work at all.
    6. Last but not the least, noise cancellation works great...

    In the end, I think I made the right choice...over Panasonic RP-HC500, senheissar PXC-250, Audio Technica's ATH-ANC7...

  1. Bought this for my dad last Christmas. Liked it so much I bought another one before my trip to Prague this past spring. Works great for the airplane. You can definitely hear the difference. I might get another for my fiancee (she kept stealing it from me on the airplane) so that we could both enjoy the decreased noise. Compared to the Bose Quiet Comfort (I bought one for my dad a couple years back) I think it's at least as good for a lot less. The bag that it comes with is a plus as it takes very little space and also holds my iPod and extra batteries. Would recommend this to anyone. Sennheiser quality is very good as always. Although I am by no means an expert, I have several decent headphones (2 Sennheisers and 1 Grado) so I feel I can tell the different between a cheap $20 headphone from Walmart and a good high quality one.

  2. This is the second pair I have owned. The sound canceling/quality ratio is very good. The headphones are lightweight and easy on your ears. While they do not provide the same level of sound suppression as heavier headphones, they achieve an amazing level of noise cancelation while preserving very good audio quality. Improvements could be made in the battery holder which can be cumbersome as well as in the folding for storage process which is not intuitive.

  3. These sennheisers (PXC 250) are really nice! They are better quality than I expected! I moved from a private office at work (where I could shut my door for peace and quiet) to a large space with other co-workers nearby. I have trouble blocking ambient conversations and noises so I got these puppies to help my concentration. Wow! They are the best. I can use them w/o my ipod for the quiet I need sometimes or with my ipod and the music I like to work by (fast).. Lots of options. Amazon had the best price and I got in on the rebate with Sennheiser for $25 back.

  4. I have owned Bose Brookstone and various other head phones. The Sennheiser for the price far outperform any I have owned. They are the most comfortable head set I have ever owned and the sound quality is superb.

  5. I bought a set of these recently and could not have been more impressed with them! They are fantastic. They were incredibly comfortable (and my head is not a small one-ha!)and really reduced the amount of stress I normally feel when flying due to the noise of the plane itself as well as the noise of people (usually kids) around me. The noise canceling feature works amazingly well. I used them with my personal player (for music) and with the onboard system when watching a movie. They worked well in both cases. They are a great quality for the price.

  1. I bought this to replace one of their earphone sets I really liked. This has good sound, but the cord is to long and it is coiled. Every time I take it out to put it on I have to spend time to unravel all the knots. The previous style of earphones worked really well, but they don't sell it anymore. They should go back to the styles that work.

  2. I purchased these headphones specifically to use while working out. They did take a little getting used to at first, to get the right fit, but now they only take a few seconds to put in. I'm very happy with the sound quality and the way they stay in my ears even during rigorous activity. I really like the fact that they don't fall out of even move when I'm wiping my face with a towel. They do tend to hurt my ears after wearing them for over an hour, so I wouldn't recommend wearing them for very long periods of time. I do think these headphones will fit everyone differently, as people's ear shapes can vary. I have all of the smallest attachments on and they are still a little bit too big for me.

To address a few complaints that I have seen in other reviews:
    1) The lengthy and 'twisty' cord - I use them with my iPod shuffle and find it very easy to leave the cord wrapped up (similar to the picture) and clip it into the iPod's clip.

    2) The different lengths of the left and right headphone cord - This is by design. The right cord should be wrapped around over the left shoulder and behind the neck. This is so you only have one cord hanging in front of you.

I've been using these headphones everyday for a month now and overall I am very happy with them.

  3. I love these sport headphones; once they are in, they don't move; very secure and the sound clarity is very good; the color is great too!! Great features and easy to fit. I'm very happy with this product.

  4. Sennheiser MX55VC Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Headphones w/ Volume Control

Expensive --- VERY expensive for such a shoddy product.

Sound quality --- Dreadful! Either all bass or all treble --- no mid-range at all.

Cords --- all twisted up like a corkscrew --- very annoying. Earpiece cords are uneven lengths --- even more annoying, especially since it sets the in-line volume control off to one side, making access more difficult.

Ear buds --- The so-called "twist-to-fit" is a joke. I played around with them for a half-hour and couldn't get a better fit, no matter how much I tried.

Carrying case --- Pathetic! You have to put this together yourself and it is ugly beyond belief.

In short, the worst headphones I've ever owned. I will NEVER buy Sennheimer products again and will actively campaign against them to friends and acquaintances who might be considering a new pair of buds.

Amazon only allows posting with a One Star minimum, but I actually rate these ZERO STARS!

  5. I've never been able to wear earbuds. They just don't stay in my ears. These fit perfectly! Volume control comes in handy too. The behind the head cord keeps cord out of my way. Sounds pretty nice. Very happy with. These are my favorite.

  1. These headphones are impressive. The dynamic range is excellent, they are comfortable, and they fold neatly into a small leather pouch. The feature that allows you to adjust soft to firm for the ear pads is a bit tricky to learn to use, but this is a nit. Overall, highly recommended.

  2. Plain and simple these headphones rock I read a review on cnet about these headphones I ordered them the same day and wow this headphones are amazing the sound quality is great.

  3. Night and day difference between these and either of my old Sony headphones. Blows away Nano earbuds. Money well spent.

  4. The Koss PortaPro has wonderful stereo quality. Although the over head design looks like it can easily catch your hair, it hasn't caught mine once. The only downside is there is a lot of sound leakage and it hurts my ears after several hours if I don't put them on perfectly aligned.

  5. Great headphone. It has a incredible 3d sound, just perfect for action movies. The only thing that dissapoints its the cable's lenght, just 4 feet. But from 1 to 10, I would give it a 9.

  1. We have been experimenting with different buds to use as in-ear monitors for our band. The CX300-B's are priced well, but we found them to be a little too bright and sibilent for our liking. Although more expensive, the model we like the best thus far is the Shure SE 110... our search continues.

  2. ok. need to get the right and comfortable fit to get the sound that you want

  3. I bought these headphones around a year ago, and have been using them ever since. While I'm fairly impressed with the sound quality, and think the noise isolation is great, the quality of construction is a bit worrisome:

The rubber cable covering isn't particularly strong. I got these caught on a door handle as I walked past, and while I should have been more careful, the rubber was easily yanked back, and the cord is only intact with the assistance of electrical tape and superglue.

In addition, the earbuds themselves aren't particularly durable. One of the earstems (which I use to twist the earbuds in) came loose, and has since come loose several more times even after I superglued it back. Also, if you can see on the picture, the black part has come apart from the silver part on both sides, exposing the inner workings, and I have had to resort to superglue once again.

Finally, the rubber inserts come off very easily. After losing a medium and then losing a large (I switched to the large ones after I lost a medium), I was forced to buy some generic inserts, and they fit even worse! I once again superglued them on, which seems to work well and, surprisingly, doesn't affect the sound quality.

I bought these headphones based on glowing sound reviews, and have no complaints in that area. If you are a very gentle user then these would probably work well for you, but if you listen to them while you work out or something, I'd recommend finding some more durable headphones.

  4. The headphones are nice for fairly cheap ones. They look good and having 3 tips is great when my wife wants to use them. The sound quality is only OK. Strongly exaggerated base and lack of clarity elsewhere ... they are nowhere near my Etymotic 4p. Finally noise isolation is very moderate ... which is good for using them on a street or at work but not good enough for public transportation.

  5. Sennheiser CX300-B Earbuds (Black)

I rate these an F for function and design and an A for sound quality. The buds are difficult inserting into the ear canal, the left earbud cord is about 15 inches shorter than the right which makes it easy for the left bud to exit the ear frequently and the rubber bud covers falls off the actual bud frequently. All of these are horrible design flaws. The earbud jack wire has a 90 degree turn instead of plugging straight into the iPod jack like the Apple earbuds do. This is an odd and inconvenient design. The material used to coat the earbud wires creates a rubber against rubber sound and is transmitted through the earbuds when walking or moving about. The sound quality is excellent through all frequencies. However I would not buy these again due to their design and will probably go back to the Apple earbuds.

  1. MDR-E828LP is a much better. I brought both. MDR-W08L is not comfortable. Feels like it is going to come off any second. Sound is not good. I will not buy this one again.

  2. I have several of these Sony earphones. I use them with my iPod Shuffle because I don't like the iPod ear buds very much. I also use the earphones with my Walkman. They are light and comfortable and the sound quality is surprisingly good. Since I wear the earphones while jogging, their lifespan on hot summer days is limited--usually about 90 days in the summer, longer in cooler weather--but the price is so reasonable, I figure the headphones are still a good value.

  3. They are ok when plugged into a PC, but at higher volume on an ipod, they tend to crackle. Also wish the wire was about 12 inches longer.

  4. I have had these headphones for many years now. The ONLY complaint is that they do not last more than 18 months. HOWEVER - the sound quality is INCOMPARABLE. Throw out your iPod ear buds, or the other earbuds. These Sony headphones will change the way you listen to music. For me - I am very active in the gym and need something that goes with me while I run or lift weights. The earbud types are constantly annoying to me. I visited Target recently and could not find the replacement for my most recent pair (BTW- they probably did not last longer only because they are sometimes kept in the heat of my car in FLORIDA) so I purchased the Sony earbud type and I couldn't STAND THEM. If you sweat, they will fall out of your ears and forget it if you run.

Anyway, these Sony Headphones are the way to go. Don't let the price fool you. But you may want to buy two at a time, just in case!

  5. Can't beat the price for these great sounding headphones. Very light plastic construction which fit snugly in ears and on head. I run 4.5 miles at a time and this headset stays put. One caveat though is that they are not hinged anywhere hence do not fold and will not fit in a small pocket. But they are flexible enough to squeeze into a larger one.

  1. My husband travels a lot on airplanes and likes to watch DVD's on his laptop while flying. These were his present and he loves them. He's tried others and these have by far been the best.

  2. I purchased these headphones to use with my scanner at a NASCAR race. I had been using a set of regular headphones at IndyCar races and had difficulty hearing the radio over the engine noise, even with the volume turned up all the way. I got the headphones a week before the race and tried them with my Sansa e260 MP3 player. The effect of the noise canceling was amazing. The sound of the air conditioner and air purifier were gone and I only had to set the volume half as high as I used to. The true test came at the track. The stock cars were far noisier than the IndyCars and the engine/exhaust noise was just piercing; I could feel the insides of my ears vibrating. I put on my Panasonic headphones and turned on the noise canceling. The engine noise was much cleaner, without the irritatingly sharp exhaust note. I still wanted to hear the sound of the engines, but I didn't want to lose my hearing. These Panny headphones did the job well, letting me hear only the best of the engine sound. Just like with my MP3 player, I only had to have my scanner volume set at 50-66% to clearly hear radio conversations. I never thought I would buy such fancy headphones, but now I see that you get what you pay for. These Panasonic headphones are worth the money, and they are far cheaper than Bose.

  3. NO benefit at home, but in a moving vehicle, I have been pleasantly surprised at how nice it is to have the noise cancelling. I like hte light weight of these, but the slender cord worries me in regard to its fragility.

  4. I was desperate for a good pair of noise canceling headphones, both for travel and for use when I'm using my treadmill. I overdid it on the research and decided on the AR ANC7 phones. When they arrived, the sound was great, but I happened to take them off and found that the entire room I was in was filled was sound. The leakage was such that I would share whatever movie I was watching with the entire plane. I returned them and got the JVC HANC 250s. These were totally disappointing, as the sound was mediocre and the noise canceling was non-existent. I returned those and tried the Logitech noise canceling headphones. I was pleased with the noise canceling but wasn't floored by the sound quality. I returned them anyway because they were "recertified" and there was a short in one ear piece. I finally tried the Panasonics and was very pleased. I found them to be comfortable, the noise canceling worked very well, and the sound quality was as as good as any except for possibly the ARs. The sound leakage was there but not nearly as bad as the ARs. And these were the cheapest phones of any I tried. I feel that the Panasonics are the best choice in the sub-Bose price range.

  5. These are the finest noise-cancelling headphones that I have ever owned. I compared them, using my iPod "Classic" 160Gb, to a friend's $300 Bose headphones and found no difference. I highly recommend them.

5 comments about JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (White).
  1. I received these headphones as a gift in December 2007. These headphones have a great sound - crisp with lots of bass - and they block outside noise very well - but the wires in the plug eventually became loose, and though for a few days I was able to "jiggle" the cable to get sound, they eventually quit completely. I was disappointed when they stopped working, since I did like the sound. I'm pretty cognizant of not "pinching" the cable when I would wrap my headphones up around my iPod, so as to not put any extra stress on that point. While I can't say I was rough with the headphones, I can't say I was most gentle with them, either (used for commuting, walking, working out, etc.). They quit in June 2008.

I was going to buy a second pair of these, but I decided to try the Coby headphones - after all, six bucks is worth a try - and I have to say that the Coby headphones have the same quality of sound and noise-canceling ability. I'm not an audiophile by any standard, and my hearing is about average, so if you're trying to decide between the jBuds and the Cobys, go with the Cobys. If you need the different size silicone earbuds (I lost four out of six due to my "throw in the bag / pocket / gym bag" treatment),

  2. I've worn these type of ear buds before and was used to how the old ones fit in my ear. These keep falling out, even trying each of the three rubber discs that come w/the buds. What's more, apparently there seems to be a wiring issue because one of buds "cuts out" on a regular basis. I'll definitely go back to a Sony product next time. These weren't worth the money.

  3. These are the best earbuds I have ever used.
I can totally screen out the outside noise and ignore the phone if I want.
    GREAT!

  4. I just received these ear buds and I am quite disappointed. I do not expect these to last very long at all. The sound is not the problem for me, it's just that it seems to be of poor quality materials. The cord itself is very, very thin so it's already apparent that the wiring is not very well protected. When I put the plug into my iPod if I even slightly twist the plug while it is in the jack I will get a lot of static. Not worth $20.

  5. i like these, they are good ear buds. i use them nearly EveryDay on my ipod. the sound is good, and they hold up nicely. ive only had to replace them once and that aint bad considering how much i use them. ive bought several different kinds of buds and so far these are best value ive seen for 20 dollars. if ever they need replaced i gladly buy them again

  1. I think my wife enjoys these more than I do because now the TV isnt up so loud ! They are ok, once in a while with out warning the power light turns off and I get an ear full of static but over all I am enjoying them.

  2. Sennheiser RS120 926 MHz Wireless RF Headphones with Charging Cradle

I bought this headset to watch movies and/or listen to music on a computer while walking on a treadmill at the same time. Without them, I either had to have the pc speakers blasting, to hear above the treadmill's motor, or lip read the dialog in movies. Both examples were annoying and unacceptable to me.

Pros: The headphones solved both problems. The stereo sound quality is good, and they were easy to setup initially too. So I'm satisfied with my purchase for these reasons.

I should mention that I paid for ground shipping and expected them to take more than a week to arrive. However I received them in just a couple of days. I would definitely recommend this company.

Cons: I dropped two stars off my rating for two reasons though. First, the product description said the headphones would work up to 300 feet away from the base. And I paid more for that added feature. However, I get static just moving from one room to another--less than 50 feet away.

Secondly, the headphones are adjustable as far as how high or low they fit on the head and ears, by sliding the ear pads in or out of the head strap. But they don't have any adjustment on how lose or tight they grip the head, and consequently fall off whenever I bend over. Needless to say, I've given up on using them outside for gardening, the other reason for purchasing them in the first place.

  3. Purchased the ear phones so that i could watch TV without interfearing with what my wife was watching in an adjacent room. Works like a charm.

  4. I bought the wireless headphones(sennheiser 120) for my husband
He loves them. He had a pair of Sony but likes these much better.
He likes to set on the deck in the afternoons and lister to his favorite
    shows. Very good buy

  5. These headphones were easy to setup out of the box. The only real minor challenge was to manually tune the headphones to receive audio. After tuning, the sound comes out great. As other people have mentioned, there is a low hissing noise when no audio is coming from the source, but it's minor. I can walk around my apartment with these headphones and the audio comes through pretty clear though I've had instances where the sound did cut in and out momentarily---probably interference from some external source. The phones are comfortable to wear because it has good padding and is light weight.
