  1. First let me say that this is my second pair of Sound-Squared earbuds, I have several MP3s and wanted a set for each! Also let me say that I am a Photographer of wildlife and birds, and I am very particlar about quality! The company does not spend a lot of money on packageing, instead they spend it on a product, It is of top quality from the tip of the 3.5mm plug to the earbuds themselves. The sound is incredable, I listened to Barbara S. first and then to Queen and from there to Elton and Garth, no matter what I listened to they produced sound quality like being at the concert, sharp and clear with a great bass. I would say that this is one item you should have for any MP3 player, or any other listening device, they are confortable even after wareing them for hours! I jogg for about an hour each morning and they also stay in with no feeling of ever falling out. I give them a 5 star for price quality build and sound, and by the way they were received in no time at all giving the company another 5 star for speed as well as cost of shipping. Oh by the way I am 66 and a very hard batchlor to please. Jimmy

  2. They are okay, but too much emphasis on bass. The other frequencies are muffled, and at times lost, as a result. I like a good quality sound reproduction in my music, not any emphasis on a particular frequency range. The cord also produces an irritating, scraping sound through the ear set when you move and the cord rubs against your clothes. I can't recommend these to anyone who desires to listen to music as presented by the artist without distortion.

  3. The Sound-Squared ebuds rock. Sound quality is very good and the sensitivity results in great preformance, however the strain relief on the plug is unbendable which resulted in the wire breaking in 3 months time. Also the wire is not soft which causes a problem in storage. They were always tangled.

2 comments about Apple M9128G/A iPod Remote Earphones iPod Remote And Earphones.
  1. i think these were good. i don't pretend to be an expert but these served my purpose. 2 things, they tend to fall out of your ear if you try to share them with someone and 2. don't put them at the bottom of your backpack, they WILL break

  2. I bought this remote about a year ago when I first got my mini. I primarily use my iPod when I am riding my motorcycle. I use the remote during the cooler months of riding when I am wearing a leather jacket.

The mini sits in a pocket or strapped to my arm, inside the jacket. I run the cord down my arm and clip it to the cuff of my jacket where I can control it with my hand. Although some have complained about the length of the cord, I think it is the perfect length if you want something to actually be remote - as in distant. The earphones plug into the end of the remote - I end up running the earphone cord back up my sleeve and out the neck of my jacket - it might not be a bad idea if there was also a piggyback connection where it plugs into the iPod so that you could run the earphones from either place.

There are four buttons on the remote: play/pause; skip fwd; skip rev; and, volume. The simplicity of the remote and the recognizable shapes and layout of the buttons lend it to easy, tactile operation - which is perfect when you are in a situation (like on a bike) where you can't give a lot of attention to fiddling with something. I do wish that it had some navigation capabilities from the remote, but that's a minor quibble. I have had no problems with the remote failing or having any other problems.

One reviewer wished that the remote was lit. If you have an iPod, you know that power is precious. I don't think it would be worth it to spend pod power on lighting the remote - not even a little bit - besides the buttons are sufficiently tactile that I don't think you really need to see the remote.

As for the headphones - forget them and go get something else. They don't sit on the ear very well and the sound is fair but not great. I did go through a few pairs of in-ear phones from Apple and Sony - but now have a set of Shure E2C's - which are an enormous improvement and more durable than either of the others.

  1. What is in the box:
1 pair of 11mm Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket Earbuds
    1 extension cord - about 3ft long
3 sets of rubber ear pieces - 1 small, 1 medium, 1 large
2 sets of foam ear pieces - all same size
    1 drawstring carrying bag

I own both the 9mm and the 11mm FMJ earbuds and the 11mm is quite an improvement. These are louder and the bass has more boom to them. You will not be disappointed with the bass on these things. The quality of material also seems to be better when compared to the 9mm. The cord is sturdier and chrome plated rather than just a rubber cord. The cord is about 3 feet long which should be long enough for most people. The extension cord adds about another 3 feet which extends long than my entire body.

I have never used foam ear pieces before, so it took me some time to figure out a way to fit them in my ear properly. Before I was just shoving them into my ear like normal earbuds and it felt a bit uncomfortable. The real key is to squish the ear pieces to make them thinner, then put them into your ear and let them expand back after a few seconds. This allows a much better fit and an easier time inserting them into your ears.

I have only one minor con. The 9mm featured a in-line volume control slider that is missing in the 11mm version. This is only a minor gripe as I don't consider volume control to be a major feature.

You'll never have to worry if they break, because all Skullcandy products comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Overall, the 11mm FMJs exceeds the 9mm in almost every possible way. From sound quality, to accessories, to craftsmanship quality, it is all an improvement. Unless you find the 9mm for cheap, I highly recommend to go straight for the 11mm Full Metal Jackets.

  2. I bought the Skullcandy earbuds (in gray) for my iPhone, to replace the awful ones included with the phone, and am thrilled with the sound, quality and really everything about them. Highly recommend!

  3. I bought these headphones for my girlfriend. She likes to run on her treadmill and also outside around the neighborhood. The headphones she was using before were her junk ipod ones. The problems she had with the ipod ones were: they couldn't stay in her ear whilst running, they had poor sound quality which in my opinion makes running with music stink, and the cord seemed to get tangled up all the time.

This product solved all of those problems and also surpassed out expectations on sound quality. I put them in and was amazed. I'm very happy with my purchase. Yeah, they were pretty expensive, but I figure buy it once keep it for life. These things definitely seem like they are going to hold up for a long, long time too.

p.s. it comes with a cool carrying case and neat stickers! haha.

  4. First thing, let me just say that people who complain about there being too much bass have forgotten what music is SUPPOSED to sound like. These headphones are absolutely incredible. I have been listening to my ipod more than when I first bought it three years ago! I will never go to another brand. I'm sold, completely.

  5. I ordered a pair of these to use at the gym with my iPod and also with a music system we jack into while spinning. They sound great. I treat them very well but I can't believe that people use these while doing extreme sports.

I have gone through two pair in 4 months. The volume control failed in the first pair. Skullcandy replaced them but it took forever. They never reply to your e-mails or website comments which is why I gave them 1 star.

The second pair also started to fail at the volume control. So I used DeoxIt on them and that cleared it up. Don't sweat on the volume control or you will have to clean it with something because it will start to have spots that don't work and sound will drop out. After about 1 month of use the jack failed. I would have to twist the cord to get them to work.

Now this is just from using them at the gym. Not skateboarding or snowboarding or any of the stuff they show the guys on their website doing.

When you do the second RMA, they hassle you with they don't cover accidental damage. They make you send the entire pair in this time. Then you wait 4 weeks and hassle them with e-mails and on their website and they never respond but they finally ship you a new pair. So 6 weeks after I sent them in I get a new pair.

I'm sure these will break just as soon as the last pair. But for what they cost I will keep sending them and hassling them. These don't even last as long as a cheap $10 pair. I could buy 6 pairs of those for what these cost.
