  1. The "behind-the-neck" design on these Philips headphones is fantastically comfortable. I wear them daily, either at the gym, at the office, or with a biking helmet. The sound quality, when paired with my iPod Shuffle, sounds good to my ears (although I'm no audiophile...).

  2. I bought and returned several headphones. I love the thread like wiring system in the HS520... NEVER tangles for me...love that part. I had a Koss before and got sick of the tangles at the gym. The sound quality is excellent especially for the price. I am looking for another pair now and really am finding it hard to find something in the same price range for this good a quality of sound.

  1. These are ok. I just picked them up for $10. The earpiece is a little softer than others I've tried. Sound is consistent with paying only $10. They seem a little flimsy and might not hold up for the long term (again, only $10). Good to have the volume on the cord which not all at this price do. I'll report back later. Not sure exactly what "Bionic" and "Digital" mean on these.

  2. The ipod ear-buds are garbage. They sound terrible, won't stay in your ears, and most of all hurt your ears. They look like they would do the trick. The design is good but the material are not. The are too flimsy and cannot be adjusted to work as you would think. Back to the drawing board for these things and in the garbage can for mine.

  1. Comfort is okay, but the audio is terrible. Even if I have my pc audio options maxed out, along with the volume control on the headphones, the sound is still very low. .

  2. I bought a Walkman recently which I'm happy with, however, I hated the headhpones that came with it (they hurt my ears, gave me a headache, and did not stay in place while jogging). I ordered these and I am so happy with them. They sound better than what came with the cassette player and are sooooooooo comfortable that I almost forget I'm wearing them (they stay in place while exercising). At this price you can't go wrong. I'm getting a second pair.

  3. I like them, the fit pretty well, sound quality is very good, though I would expect higher from Altec Lansing. Still by far the best in it's price range.

I wouldn't recommend it for production A/V use, but for online gaming, online talk features in IM software, as well as just a regular set of headphones, it's a good product.

  4. I'm going to be brief. For the cost, they're okay headphones at first. The "headband" is a little irritating at first, but you can grow to ignore it. The volume control is a nice feature for quickly turning down the music when a coworker complains. However, the problem lies in it's durability. After approximately 3 months, the volume control casing split in two, exposing the small board and wires inside. Promptly giving it a quick fix (super glue), it worked fine again. Another month or so after that, the wires on the inside of the cable started to split, causing nasty scratches in the music that continued to get worse, and worse, and worse. Now, this was in an office environment, not getting bumped around while jogging, flung around by kids, or getting eaten by the dog. Normal wear and tear.

I would buy these again if my other option was sticking my arm in a woodchipper, but that's about it.

  5. I love these headphones, they're amazing for only $10 and the volume control is really handy.

  1. I purchased these when my JVC NC100 set was stolen, though neither comes anywhere close to a Bose NC headset, the Maxell actually outperform the JVC over-the-ear variety. The JVC had an unpleasant overly loud hiss from one side and lower output from the second... I would have returned them if they hadn't been stolen. The Maxell NC3 with the NC off gives a weak audio but not overly poor. With the NC on, the audio is bright and surprisingly good. The noise cancelling is far less than what is offered by Bose and other higher priced units, but for around $20 it's better than I expected. Sitting in the4 forward areas of an aircraft, the cancellation gives a pretty good ride, music from an MP3 player or movie player is very usable and volume levels are about half what would be needed without them. Still plenty of aircraft sound comes through but still better than without the noise cancelling. As you move toward the rear of the plane, the ambient sounds increase and though the phones still help, they're not fully up to the task and you'll have to crank up the audio a bit more than forward levels. I'd guess that overall 40-50% noise reduction is what you'll experience with these.

They work surprisingly well to reduce airconditionalr and fan noise in the office.

Comfort: While they're OK for two or three hours of use, you'll want to ice your ears after a 5 hour flight.

If you only fly occasionally and generally short flights and are very budget concious, these are for you. Longer Flights, Better Budget? Go for the more expensive offerings from Panasonic, Sony, Audio-Technica, JVC or if you're flush, go for the Bose- they really are amazing.

  1. I am satisfied with the performance of these headphones, but the enclosed installation instructions of the infrared sensor are not detailed enough and need improvement.

I had trouble getting good reception from my DVD system until I learned from a local installation shop that the infrared sensor should be mounted at the same level or above the headphones in the vehicle.

  2. The product arrived as advertised, works well with my previous transmitter so I didn't even have to go to the trouble of installing a new transmitter. The spring load on the earpieces is a bit strong, but I've got a big head. Oh, well. Overall, very happy with the product and service.

  1. Finding high quality headphones for a low price is a hobby of mine- I have 25 year old stax electrostatics, a pair of high end panasonics, sonys, and zalmans. And to add to my list of prestigious companies would have to be beyedynamic. these are great, dynamic headphones that have impressive specs. they fit very well; making a great alternative and improvement to ear buds that may have come with your portable music device. good deal with plenty of cool colors to choose from... buy one for you and others for friends!
