  1. Before I found these, I went through at least 5 sets of headphones: over-the-head, around-the-back-of-the-head, over-the-ear, in-ear, you name it. The only ones I kept going back to were my dorky over-the-head ones, solely because they didn't fall off like all the others. However, I decided to give these a shot just because they looked a bit more conforming than the other over-the-ear options I'd tried previously. Sure enough, these are the headphones for me. They come with 3 different over-the-ear attachments (one of which is sure to work for you) as well as 3 different ear bud attachments to ensure a secure fit. These headphones also have a fairly short cord, which I've found to be both a pro and a con: less tangling and hassle of tucking away the cord, but also not quite long enough to tuck your ipod in your back pocket while you're listening. However, having found headphones that actually stay securely in my ears is worth that trouble, in my opinion.

Love these-- they're affordable, functional, comfortable, and wonderful.

  1. Just got these, and I must say I LOVE THEM. I've had trouble with past IEMs--it can be frustrating to get a proper fit, and I think some folks who try them don't understand how far they need to go in one's ear to seal and deliver proper bass. It definitely takes a while to get accustomed. Once you get a proper fit, they sound awesome. I also got a great deal by shopping around. I've also read that these are the same as the E2c, and since I use these E2gs for music only (no gaming) I would not be surprised. THEY ROCK.

  2. these headphones were lovely. i had the one's that were'nt the gaming edition, but then i had a fire at my house and i lost them. i couldn't find them again at a reasonable price. so i looked here for 40 dollars less, they are bassariffic! they block out almost all the noise. it is the greatest buy i've made in my life. :)

  3. I've been looking for a pair of headphones like this for years. I've used these for 8 months now and wear them almost everyday. I ride a motorcycle everyday and I never leave without these. First, the comfort is exceptional. Even with my helmet on, I never get uncomfortable with these in my ears. I've ridden 400 miles at a time without any problems. Even when I need a break from the music, I leave these in because they do such a great job of blocking wind and bike noise. I've used several other brands of canal earphones and none have been comfortable - tolerable at best, but most are painful with a helmet on. The "bulb" you see in the picture rests in the crook of your ear, so there is nothing extending past your ear to get crammed in deep. Second, the sound quality is fantastic. Great bass, mids, and highs. I've heard things in my music I never knew was there and I can't wait to listen more. I can't recommend these enough. I've bought a pair for my brother and may have to buy a pair for my wife because she keeps taking mine.

  4. I ordered these because of their sound isolation feature. These come with a small carry case that I like to bring around along with my iPod. And they also come with 9 different earplugs for you to customize. They have 3 different kinds of plugs each with 3 sizes. They have clear plastic ones, soft black plugs, and foam plugs. I find the clear plastic ones to be way too hard so i tried the black ones which i used for a while and then tried the foam ones. Boy can I tell you, the foam earplugs are genius. They don't look as cool but they work exactly like earplugs. you roll them up and then put them in your ear and they expand to fill your earhole and you pretty much don't hear anything except for your music. The foam ear pieces are by far the best ones they have to offer in my opinion. Other than the superior sound isolation, the sound quality from these are amazing. I own sennheiser pc150s paired with x-fi sound card and they aren't nearly as good as the e2g's with my ipod. If you have the money, buy this and you won't be disappointed. these work for jogging too, its really hard for them to fall out but easy to take off when you need to.

  5. This is my first pair of good earphones. I have always used whatever is cheapest. Now that my IPOD has reached the one year mark and I have found myself using it everyday, I am going to splurge on the E2g because it is one of the lowest priced Shure models sold by Amazon.

  1. These give a great sounds and fit well (nice case too). Good price as well since they are like 150 on Panasonic's website. Unfortunately, it has an asymetric cords, but I have learned to deal with it.

  2. I've collected quite a few nice headphones, and I enjoy trying new products, and with headphones, it's interesting to buy and try other brands/models, since you can get pretty good sound without spending a lot.

So far, I've heard earbud and IEM (In Ear Monitor) models from high end brands such as Etymotic Research, Shure, Ultimate Ears, and others. For more casual use, I've been looking for good earbuds (easier to use than a pure IEM).
After seeing pictures of this earbud from Panasonic, and reading the rave reviews, I decided to give these a try since they are a pretty good deal offered here on Amazon at around $62+

The presentation of these headphones is nice, they feel solid and are funky looking. They come with a metal case which looks like a card case, and it comes with a short cable (just long enough to place your MP3 player in your pocket) but includes with cable extension so you can plug them into your desktop stereo/computer

The metal case looks impressive, but is not that useful as it's thin and takes too much work to put the headphones into it. You have to snap the two headphones together, and insert them into the fitted foam, and they wind up the cable and insert them into the netted section. All too fussy to do on a day to day basis.

As for the sound, I just could not get these to fit into my ear. I tried all three rubber tip sizes. The sound was harsh, with too much treble and a very weak bass. If I really really pushed hard on them to force a tight seal, the sound improved a lot but they my ears started hurting. The bass was very full sounding, maybe a bit underdamped even, but the treble was still a bit too much, a bit too brash sounding. I'm pretty used to forward and bright sounding headphones (I own the $200 Etymotic ER4S which are quite bright and detailed IEMs)

I'm not sure what else I can do, but in the end, I'd have to rank these a distant third place behind the other two high grade earbuds in the under $100 range (Audio Technica ATH-CK7 and Sony EX90). Even when I force them to seal well in my ears, they just didn't sound as good as those other two.

So as always, your own experiences may vary, but I'd advise you to give the others ones a try first before these ones, and buy from a place that allows returns.

  3. I had high expectations for these earphones after reading the first 5 reviews, but I was very disappointed. The sound quality is weak, especially the bass; the lower grade earphones that came with my MP3 player produce a much richer sound. The only positive is that they are very comfortable.

  4. I recently purchased these panasonic earbuds, and I have been very pleased with them thus far, great sound, and very durable. I like that it comes with 3 different sizes to fit your ears. The asymmetrical headphone cord is my only complaint. It makes your MP3 player very difficult to use in some settings. Don't buy these if you want to go running with them. They work for some other athletic activities like biking though.

  5. I had these for about a year before the cord developed a short just from regular use and storage in the included box. They had good sound and were comfortable after I got used to them, but start to hurt after long periods of use. Wouldn't buy again... They've turned me off to the small $50+ in-ear headphones for fear they'll break too easily.

  1. the sound quality is pretty good. maybe its because my head is too big or something, the headphone doesn't fit too well on my head, and don't use it for a long time tho. after all, it's a pretty good deal, although i like the Bose one better, but it's too expensive.

  2. The strange thing is I really like these headphones. The design is good, the build quality is fair, and for DJ headphones they are fairly comfortable.

The only thing that lets them down is the sound, which just isn't up to the Job for a pair of headphones at this price level. The whole sound is repressed, and colored. It's fairly poor at best, not the worst I've heard, but it's poor.

I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending them to anyone. Why the two stars? Like I said they are fairly comfortable and they broke the mould somewhat when it comes to the design.

  3. I have a 5YO pair of Radio Shack "Titanium" headphones bought for $24.95 still going strong, but way beyond average product life, and now discontinued (bad move on RS's part). The MAJOR DIFFERENCE between them and these DJs is the comfort issue; you KNOW you're wearing headphones as the pressure is evident (this may lessen over time OR with some headband tweaking), where the Titaniums are forgotten once placed on your head--both are light weight, but the RS headphones don't "squeeze" your head when wearing them. The SOUND QUALITY of the Titaniums is 20-20K Hrz and provides an "airy" or "spacial" sound stage, the DJs less "airy" and are either 1] flat across across the sonic spectrum OR 2] have mid-range boost/coloration giving me better voice clarity and an increased mid-range presence that I found I liked--all things considered--over the RS phones. I got the DJs for $47.00 w/free S+H as refurbs from an A'.com associated affiliate and at that price, I consider them an excellent value for the money. Creative Labs makes a high end headphone--the Aurvana Live! user rated at nearly 5-Stars--that A'.com offers at the lowest cost w/free shipping (as of the date of this review) that I considered but the price I got for the DJs and their specs were the deciding factors. I recommend these headphones, and would have given them 5-Stars but for the comfort issue.

Addendum to my "Private Listening = 4-Stars" review. The "comfort issue" has been resolved! I reasoned that the spine of the headphone had to be metal and as such, the tension causing the phones to press uncomfortably on the head from both sides could be adjusted by CAREFULLY bending the spine back--widening it--to a tension that made them comfortable to wear AND permitting the around-the-ear cups to fit snuggly at the same time. Guess what? IT WORKED!!! Sooooo...when you read the reviews on this or similar headphones with user comments about them being "uncomfortably tight to the head" be assured there's a cure for that complaint. My rating on the DJ phones is now a full 5-Stars.
