  1. I was looking forward to these, as traditional earbuds fall out of my ears with the slightest jostle or bump. I couldn't figure out how something this big is supposed to fit into a space the size of an ear opening. They are 1"x3/4" big. I passed this around at work and nobody else could figure out how to make them fit, either.

Maybe that's why the only picture of them actually IN an ear is a drawn one.

  2. These earbuds had pretty decent sound but I had two big problems with them.
1/ They didn't fit quite right. Especially my left ear was irritated by these buds.
2/The padding wore out quite quickly around the edges leaving a hard plastic to irritate my ears.

  3. I have average size ears and these fit just fine. They also stay put. Can't say much about wear and tear because I just got them recently. I don't know how you can wear out the foam that quickly unless you are constantly forcing these too hard into your ear.

The sound quality is also very good.

  4. Some people collect figurines or autographs, I collect headphones. I'm not really an audiophile, so to be honest, most headphones sound pretty good to me. They do not all, however, fit well, and fit is where these Altec Lansing headphones excel, in my view.

I primarily use my 'phones when I'm working out, and I tend to sweat quite a bit. I've had Bose in-ear phones that popped out and got all staticky when they got wet (otherwise, they sounded great, though). Ditto on the popping out for my Koss memory foam ones and also for my Philips.

These Altec Lansings, on the other hand, stay completely put when I wear them working out. I don't even feel them in there. I can see why people THINK they don't fit, though, because at first it doesn't feel natural or secure at all. It feels as though they will pop out at any second, but in reality, they conform to the contours of your outer ear and they stay there.

They are very light and, as I said, I'm no audiophile, but I think they sound pretty good. And for the price, they sound and feel great.

  1. I've been using the Beyerdynamic MMX headset for a couple of months now and find it a serviceable piece of audio hardware. It is very easy to use, and lightweight, as well, so for someone looking for a good beginner's headset, this would work quite nicely.

It is, however, obviously built for home use and not for a studio or classroom. The fact that it is lightweight--a positive attribute for the home gamer, podcaster, or VoIP user--means that in another, more challenging environment (such as a school room), its construction is no longer lightweight, but flimsy.

  2. We have used these headsets for our school. They are just fantastic. They have great sound reproduction and the microphone quality is beyond anything out there in USb headsets.

They work very well in on the mac and windows ( but drivers in leopard do not work yet)

  3. This is not a bad headset but for about the same price, I feel this headset is a better one to get:

Sennheiser PC 166 USB Stereo Multimedia Gaming Headset

both in terms of audio quality as well as mic quality and comfort/build quality.

  1. My Bose headphones fell apart at the headband-phones joint, and I didn't feel like parting with another $300, so I picked up the Sonys. They are a little more sturdy, shouldn't break apart in the same way. The noise cancellation works fine, and the noise reduction even when they are off is good (I do follow the FAA rule of turning off all electronics for take-off and landing). The only downside I have noticed is that if you press on the outside of the headphones you get a pretty annoying feedback. It startled me awake the first time it happened. Not a perfect solution, but still great headphones.

  2. I was looking into the Bose noise canceling headphones, willing to pay the big bucks, but read some reviews of these and decided to take a chance and ordered them, I am very happy with the purchase. The noise canceling works great and they are very comfortable. I can't say how they rate next to the Bose, because I was not able to compare, but for the price I am very pleased with my purchase.

  3. I bought a pair of these in FEB'06 for almost $200. For that price you would think they would last more than 2 years, especially when they've only been used about 20 times. Nope last few flights, I get this constant annoying, almost deafening, high pitch blaring with the noise cancelling feature on. It stops briefly when I tap on the ear piece then returns. I even tried new batteries to no improvement.
I called Sony customer care to see if they could exchange them with a refurbished product. Nope, rep told me the warranty was only 3 months! For $200!! WAY TO STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT SONY!
I'm suppose to call Customer relations on Monday-I think I know where that's going.
I won't be buying Sony again unless they replace these. Read all the reviews before you buy, alot of people have had the same issue with this model and the newer NC60.
You're suppose to get what you pay for, not with this brand. Designed by Sony but made in China, cheap labor belting out cheap product, hence the 3 month warranty.
Feel free to email me for an update, [...]
    Thanks for reading!!!!

  4. My husband loves these. He says they are as good as those other more expensive ones.

  5. I just got back from another quiet flight thanks to the Sony noise canceling headphones and my iPod. The sound quality was terrific! It blocks external noise so well that I accidently aggravated a flight attendant because I didn't even hear his beverage offer. The downside is bulkiness which only bothers me slightly for sleeping and is more inconvenient due to the precious carry-on space it consumes.
Its really important to put them on the right way because the ear pieces are slanted making them smash ears when wrong but comfortable when correct. I also found I need to remember to turn them off after use to save battery life which I just wasn't used to from regular headphones.
All in all, I'm happy with my purchase of these headphones.

  1. Item is exactly as described. A word of caution, make sure the headset is compatible with your player.

  2. I have been using this product for 3 years and the only thing that happened like 1 month ago is that the foam ripped but you can buy another 1 for like 1 dollar. I suggest you buy them, perfect for your MP3 player.

  1. Shopping around at a refurbished store, I found these on sale at $10. I bought them, because the original price is $20, so they should be pretty nice. And they are.

    SOUND QUALITY (5 stars) -

The sound on these headphones is outstanding for the price I paid. The bass is very deep, and the treble is pretty clear as well.

    COMFORTABILITY (4 stars) -

The comfort is pretty good. They do seem to press somewhat hard after some hours, but overall, the comfort is good. The headband is very soft, and the headphones are pretty adjustable.

    PORTABILITY (2 stars) -

Ok, get real, anything this size is unportable. They aren't foldable, and I wish they were. I guess I can use h.ears for portable purposes, because the h.ears don't sound as good.

    COST (5 stars) -

The cost was very good. I can't believe I paid such a low price for this quality.

Overall, the EH710 are recommended for people who like quality sound and aren't big travelers.

  2. I cannot beleive the quality of sound from these headphones. Not to mention the price! These headphones sound every bit as good as my *very expensive* Sony Studio Monitor headphones at a fraction of the price.

They have a very rich, well-balanced sound and can handle very high power and punch with no distortion.

I am very, *very* picky about my headphones. They had better be rich and perfectly clean for me to even consider them... and these more than meet my expectations.

And to beleive I get this from a headphone brand I've never heard of, and at a price like this!

    I highly recommend these headphones.

  3. These headphones sound okay. I find the way the cushion sits on your ears instead of around them a bit odd, but it's not so bad. The adapter for larger plugs is a bit poor, though: the smaller plug on the headphone cable fits into it rather too loosely, and after a few weeks it's got to the stage now where it doesn't make contact properly.

  4. I am using one of these headphones for a month now. I am very pleased with overall performance of these cans. It's comfortable for a 3-4 hour straight use. I also feel the construction is solid so, it will stand some rough use for couple of years. Also considering the price I paid (around 10) this piece is totally worth it.

    Goods:
    - Price
    - Decent performance
    - Good construction
    - Long cord (10feet)

    Bads:
    - Leather wraps on the headphone may feel hard (if you are use to soft leather you may find it difficult)
    - Not for audiophiles.
    - Wont fold

  1. These work just as I had hoped. I get a clear, static and interference free sound from my television. The base station transmittion/charger hooks up to either your television or cable box. The headset receives the sound wire free. This allows me to watch tv when my spouse wants some quiet in the living room. Note: in my experience the quality of the audio cable you use affects the sound you hear so do not skimp and buy five-dollar cables.

  2. I Bought these Headphone a little while ago.The Sound is out-standing but that is it's only Truely Good thing.

The Battery System that comes with the Headphones don't last long, at about 1/2 Volume {on the headphones) they only lastabout 4.25-4.75 Hours, with a 3-4 hour rechage time. The Headphone battery cover is weak, and feals and looks like it break quickly if you open and close it often.Energizer Alkaline Battery only last 3 hours at best.Energizer 2500mah Rechargeable Batteries Last 4 hours, witch makes usen them for any long term times imposible.Although Sony Says the Headphones give you a warning that the Batteries are almost dead it has never worked for me.
The Range is very sad. My Bathroom is about 12 Feet away From the Transmitter the Signal tends to Drop in and out from that Short distance.
The Headphone hock-up to the TV is a Poor connectivity. The Headphone Eye Pad Have already Cost me in Replacements sence they are poorly made and have low last time. The Optical Digital Connection Work ok, but the Pass Threw never works no matter how much money you spend in Optical Digital Connecting Cables you buy.For the Cost Sony Charges for these Headphones you'd think the connectivity worked right, and came with a better set of Connector Cables.
The Headphone do fit your Head nicely but only if you keep you head at a 75 105 deg Strait up you look down or up to much the headphones seem to fall off easly. The self Adjusting Head Bad Barly works and The Rubbery Band Grabes your hair and pulls it out, or atleast that what it does to me if i'm not carefull on taken it off.

I Bought Sony Wireless Headphone becouse, the last set of Wireless headphones I got From Sony lasted very Long, and other Wirelss headphone system I got never lasted more than a Year, and unless you want to buy 2 or more Wireless Headphones {so one can Charge while you use the others} or feal very lucky {With the Poorly made/Designed Battery Cover} you can change battery alot.

If you tend to buy these Headphones you will need a sec. pair, and a few ext. Ear Pads.
