2 comments about Koss KEB79 Portable Isolation Earbud (Black).
- These noise isolation earbud stereophones work very well with exceptionally high quality sound. They work great to listen to whatever on the noisy bus or plane or train. They block out too much surrounding noise to be used while jogging around traffic, making it so you may not hear the big truck behind you, etc. The only drawback I have experienced is the built-in mute button sometimes pulls the left earbud out (hence, the four stars, not five). I have found some clever ways to avoid the problem by creatively routing the cord under my shirt or jacket so the mute button hangs from the collar of my shirt or jacket and not by the cord going to the left earbud. Several engineers in our office have tried various noise isolation earbud stereophones and it is a unanimous vote that the Koss noise isolation earbuds have all of the competition beat hands down. You just have to get creative with the mute button and the way you route the cord on this particular model.
- The sound from these earbuds is extremely tinney with NO bass. The sound quality does not compare with the sound quality of the earbuds that came with my Creative Zen V MP3 player. I have returned them for refund.

3 comments about Philips SHE3600 Easy Wear In Ear Headphones.
- I bought these because the necklace/lanyard-style headphones that came with my mp3 player (a mobiBLU Cube) were of poor quality and don't work any more. Because it's a very small gadget, it's a bit annoying to have to fumble around in a bag or a pocket to manipulate it. So I wanted to get another pair of necklace headphones, but the Sony ones are really expensive. The price of these is very decent and the sound quality seems good (I'm no great audiophile).
As stated above, these are meant for mp3 players small enough to be worn around the neck, not to listen to your computer or stereo! If you try doing that while wearing them as a necklace, you'll find the short length awkward.
However, if you don't have another pair around and want to plug them into a desktop device, you can unsnap the plastic bit at the back of the neck by pulling, so the /0\ shape becomes a /U\ (imagine the earbuds are at the lower ends of those slashes), which effectively doubles the length from plug to earbuds.
EDIT: by the way, the sound is stronger when I wear them backwards (i.e. left bud in right ear and vice versa). I guess it's just the shape of my earholes specifically. They don't block background noise, which is good when I'm cycling to work but bad when I'm at work trying to listen to music in a fume hood with the fan going.
- I fell in love with them and the reasons are:
- the fits perfectly in my ears
- they let me use my ipod under my clothes and it's very usefull for me doing sports and taking care from the thieves.
- it's sounds as I need they sound, fine and clear, without noices and loud enought.
- finally, I love the color.
- I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked these little headphones. They were even better than I expected.
The earbud wires goes straight into a lanyard that goes around your neck and then re-emerges at the bottom next to a string to hold your MP3 player. This was absolutely perfect for my device. It's excellent for working our because normally the wire for headphones were always getting snagged on treadmills or my hands which would yank the earbuds out of mt ears. Not with these! Since the wire goes into the lanyard, the wires comming out of the earbuds go behind your neck and the lanyard protects the wire from damage (which is the main reason I end up buying new earbuds).
The sound quality is very good for earbuds. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the buds themselves are a little big to fit comfortably in my ear.
I definately recommend these to anyone, especially if you're like me and have a tendency to snag the wires.

- The shape is very practical and I comfortably use the headphones at the gym. However, the sound is mediocre, even at the highest volume.
