- Bought a pair and i was really pleased with it for listening to the stuff i record on my computer.
my brother liked them so much he bought the same pair for himself...
if you're low on the budget, and you're looking for good headphones that really isolate you from the environment try them.
they have good Bass\mids\highs and they are really comfortable.
- These do sound great in a quiet area, but I assumed being airtight meant they would also help block the noise of the machine shop where I work. There are slits in the shells, and the shells are hollow, so what do they sound like? Like putting shells over your ears. Seashells. But the shells just snap on, so I snapped them off and stuffed them with foam, and now they do what I hoped they would do in the first place. Meaning I turned a 3-star product into a 5-star product, so I gave it 4 stars. And the foam I recycled from the dumpster at work, so I'm happy.

- I have a pair of the Shure E2C earphones and I love them. I figured that a pair of those that I could also use as a headset for my cell phone would be great... Having the audio from my cell phone going to both ears would be really nice... But these things were a serious disappointment
I'm sending these back to Amazon for the following reasons:
1. The Switch box is huge!! No wonder they never show a picture of it in the product description.
2. The volume control is basically useless. At full volume it is fine. The slightest little change on the volume control results in audio so low you can barely hear. Might as well be a switch instead of a variable control. And the volume control knob sticks out so far from the switch box that it is easily bumped. Forget about trying to put the switch box in your pocket, as that will surely bump the volume control.
3. Assuming that you have you phone and your music player in your pocket or clipped to you belt, along with the gigantic switch box, the cables from the switch box to those devices are way too long. This means that you have to either have cables hanging, or bundle them up. Both options stink.
4. The microphone is on the cable that goes to the left ear piece rather than being at the junction of the two earphone cables.
5. The mute button must be held for the mute to work. This is a major pain for people like me that use a headset for calling in to conference calls where you want to have the mute on unless you are actually speaking.
If Shure made this with a SMALL switch box, like maybe the size of a pen cap, put the microphone on the hunk of plastic where the earphone cables split off, had a mute switch instead of a mute button, a volume control that actually worked, and made the cables to the phone/audio device shorter, this would be great. I can't imagine anyone using this thing with the several feet of wires and gigantic switch box... A nice idea, but a seriously flawed design.
- These were alright headphones but they didn't work for me at all. I just got a Helio Hero which is a phone and a mp3 player so i wanted a nice pair of headphones that would also act as a headset. But the headset jack was only mono and I didn't like the idea of swithching back and forth between jacks, plus i didn't really like that there were two jacks so that one was always dangling and I didn't like the big ol' honking remote in the middle. These simply weren't designed with my purposes in mind. The other model, the ones designed for the Treo, was closer to what I wanted but those didn't work with my phone.
- I found these when I was looking around for a new pair of in-ear headphones (my Sony Fontopia's cable broke - again). I was also looking out for a cellphone headset, and so I saw this and decided it had to be good. Now that I've got it, I can say that it *is* good - in some respects. The sound quality is everything Shure is cracked up to be - clean, clear, and crisp. The downside comes in the integration of the two functions - the two leads (to MP3 player and cellphone) are inequal in length for some reason, and the junction/switch box between them is pretty huge - it also contains a nigh-useless volume control, which despite being a dial, seems to have only two settings - regular, and extremely quiet.
In any case, they work for my needs - but if you're planning to jog with them, or keep your MP3 player more than about 8 inches from your phone, you're out of luck. Remember, if a combo device costs *less* than either one of its components, something's probably wrong.

5 comments about Noisebuster (NB-FX) Noise Canceling Headphones.
- After trying several brands I purchased a pair of Noisebuster's more than 3 years ago and I have to say that they are still the best value headphone when you want to disconnect from the outer world in noisy places. I usually wear them at the office while working which allows me to listen to music at the same time at a good quality (I mean, connected to a computer music system, you get very decent sound).
I also own a pair of Bose QuietComfort which I bought on a later date which work prety well too. The Bose are superior if you want to listen to music in a better quality system (I own a Harman Kardon equipment and Bose speakers), but all in all I consider the noisebusters of better value for what I paid and very very close to the Bose on reducing the external noise.
In net, I am definitively purchasing a new Noisebuster pair to replace my first set which is already showing signs of aging and would recommend the NB to anybody.
- These headphones are fantastic. I didn't find them uncomfortable at all. I bought a much more expensive pair AFTER these for my husband thinking they would be even better than these..NOT. These were BETTER than the ones I paid another $75 extra for!
Not only does it make the flight more relaxing, without the constant back ground noise you will not get jetlag! Who knew! My doctor told me this so I tried it out. Absolutely true!! I listen to music with the headphones or just enjoy the quiet. I use them at home and it cuts out air conditioning noise or mutes the TV enough if I don't want to hear what my husband is watching!
It comes with the plug for the airlines or use it with your own music system. Test it yourself, lift the ear piece away for a second or turn the on button back to off. Listen to that roar! Its draining. I won't be without these headsets again! Well worth the money! I can't say that for the more expensive brand.
- I've never owned noise cancelling headphones before. Altho I have tried the high priced brand on several occasions. I put these on during a flight from San Francisco to Miami, and thought that they were nice and comfortable, and very quiet. They also provided good fidelity when I plugged into the movie sound at my seat connection.
But then, I took them off to go to the bathroom. WOW! The plane was NOISY! All the hubub from both passengers and engine noise started to make me crazy, and I could not get those phones on fast enuf! It was then that I knew how good these little critters actually were.
The downside: bring an extra battery!
- Based on previous reviews I had high hopes. Those reviews must have been paid endorsements because the performance was poor and that is being kind. The product does not cancel the noise (air travel) it replaced it with a different type of noise. I tried a pair of Sony headphones on another flight and the quality was truly superior. Also, be prepared to purchase a battery because the one that comes with the product is less than cheap. I would not recommend this product.
- I bought these headphones less then 4 weeks ago and have used them moderately since then. A few days ago I noticed that a piece of the locking clip on the top of the headphones had broken and today I went to unfold them and the whole locking clip broke! The noise canceling ability of these headphones is great for the price and with a decent battery you can get more than 24 hours of use from them. I have never dropped them or done anything that would compromise the integrity of the plastic. So that leads me to believe that the plastic that they used to make them must be of a very low quality. The best noise canceling in the world is useless if you can't wear the headphones that have it.

- the product was a very good idea, and when they were working were wonderful headphones! but as soon as i was listening to them for a week they broke! one ear just stopped working, with no apparent reason!
- Like the previous reviewer, one of the earphones broke soon after I bought them. They are not durable AT ALL.
- I have purchased headphones from these guys before this last batch that I bought, and they were fine (I generally buy 2 at a time). But recently I bought two, and the first pair the chord frayed which led to loss of sound in one ear. Then I switched to using my back up pair, and a week after I opened it, one of the earbuds spontaneously came apart for no reason. Again, the headphones sound great, but they fall apart quick. Not worth the 8 bucks (2+S.H.).

1 comments about RIVET INERNATIONAL GRAPHITE RHYTHM LANYARD W/BLK GRAB FOR IPOD NANO.
- I wanted headphones that offered good sound quality, but I didn't want to reach the hundreds to do it.
I discovered this pair, and I read some pretty good reviews regarding sound quality from cnet. However, many of those reviews also stated that they had rather poor cable construction. I took my chances and unfortunately it seems to be true.
I ordered my first pair from ritzCamera, and everything was great. The sound blew away any other pair of headphones I had ever had, and the price was great. After four days the left earphone went dead. RitzCamera didn't even have me send the product back, and a few days later I received a second pair, with no charge, or hassle. Hopefully this pair would prove that the first just happened to be defective.
This second pair performed perfectly for two weeks. However, the left earphone slowly went dead. As in, I had to wiggle the cable and stand/sit in the exact right position to make sure that things were making full contact. Four weeks after that no amount of positioning my self awkwardly could fix it.
As far as the whole lanyard ability going on, I never used it but, it seemed to be a relatively sturdy set up.
Also, the cables are not insulated in rubber, instead they are insulated with cloth (at least on the outside). This looks rather interesting, but there are two problems. The white cloth gets dirty, and due to the cloths texture a lot of noise is created if it rubs against your shirt or body.
The cloth would hardly bother me if the headphones just had better cable construction.
If that were the case, these would be a great sounding cheap pair of headphones.
-EDIT:
The producer of this product has addressed the cable construction issues noted in this review. They were even willing to replace my broken pair at no charge but the postage of the old pair to them. I have had the redesigned pair for several months, and they are still in operating order. Due to this I would change my rating to 5 stars if I could.
