- I bought the Skullcandy earbuds (in gray) for my iPhone, to replace the awful one included with the phone, and am thrilled with the sound, quality and really everything about them. Highly recommend!

- These are the type of noise canceling headphones which generate white noise as part of noise reduction. The white noise is about as loud as the heating system noise which I was trying to eliminate. Also, the audio was distorted, kind of like a table radio turned up too loud from across the room.
This is the first time that I have ever turned in a poor report on Amazon, but it's prudent to mention the shortcomings of these headphones.
On a brighter note, Amazon makes returns easy - Thanks Amazon!
- The best buy for the price. I did a lot of research prior to purchasing my pair of Noise Cancelling Headphones. These had the best reviews from sites like Forbes, PCWorld, MacWorld the Washington Post. There were a few others too, I just don't remember.
They are very comfortable and the music works when the batteries run out. I fly a lot and these have been a life saver. Much better than the Bose Q2's I had, which broke after a year.
- I purchased the headphones with the expectation of getting noise cancelling and a decent sound quality for a reasonable price. The noise cancelling worked satisfying but the sound quality of the item I recieved was so poor, that I could not see myself using them even for walk around or on a plane, and certainly not for concentrated music listening. The treble level was unacceptably low and even worse when the noise cancelling was on. If I cranked the treble level by use of equalizer, the headphones could play it, but it required a macabre level of equalizer adjustments.
I returned the item claiming it was defect, and bought a pair of AKG 271S, which I enjoy 100% though they are without noise cancelling. As I understand the Able Planet Linx system, it is supposed to increase the treble level, thereby minimize the risk of hearing damage due to the use of headphones, because the increased treble level automatically makes the listener turn down the volume.... Maybe I get it wrong, but that does not make a whole lot of sense to me in terms og quality listening, because it intentionally shifts the frequency balance so to speak. Anyway, it seems to be a patented system, so there might be some reason it it. Bottom line, I don't know whether my headphones was defect because I have not had the chance to compare them with others.

- I'd been dying to get this headphones after all the reviews I read about it. And I finally did. The sound is really awesome, i can adjust the bass from EQ so that's not a big deal...however, the comfort level is definitely a factor.
I'm a petite women (coxswain) and my head is pretty small...and after wearing this headphones for an hour it my ears and side of my head starts to hurt which leads to headache. I can't wear this headphones for more then an hour at a time which sucks cause I work in my cubical 8+ hours a day.
The pink does grab a lot of attention and the sound is pretty good however, you can't turn up the volume too much or your neighbor will be able to hear all the lyrics.
If you want a headphones for short time listening with coolness written all over it then this is the headphones for you. But if you're looking for comfort level..you might have to seek else where for it.
- I bought these headphones after reading some other reviews and overall i'm satisfied with my purchase. I thought it was funny that the same headphones in black were $25.00 to $30.00 dollars more than the white counterpart, more $$$ in my pocket I guess. Anyway the only problem I had with these were the 2 part cord for the headphones. It has a single wire coming from one side of the ear muff about 18 inches long or so and then splits off with another cord. I hate this design because anytime in the past when I've bought headphones with a dual connection like this it ultimately is where the product will fail first. Time will tell if this pair will fail like the others.
- I had these for about 2 months now. They get kind of sweaty if you wear them in the gym... LUCKILY they come with extra ear pads that are white leather instead of fuzzy pink. You cannot change the headband though.
I was really happy to find them here for less than what Skullcandy.com was offering.
The bass in tihs isn't that loud and even though the speakers can play music really loud they are not sound blocking. Occasionally i can get some breakthrough sounds or background music. Usually not.
And When I have them up loud I always feel like the people around me can hear my music too... so that makes me kind of self conscious.
All in all these are super cute and they work far better than I did expect. Do expect TONS of attention rocking these bad boys.... great conversation starter for sure!
- Wow, Skullcandy, what a cool brand name. I own a pair of Smokin' Buds and I have to say that I didn't even know earbuds had the possibility of sounding so good. The bass in those things are unbelievable! So, no need to say how high my expectations were for their $80 headphones. The Ti set is very comfortable and has an inline volume control, an extention for your cord, and a home stereo adapter (all gold plated for less signal loss). I could wear 'em all day long and not suffer from 'headphone head'. At this point, I couldn't wait to pump some tunes through them. I have to be honest here, I was extremely dissapointed. The mids, highs, and clarity are great. That's where it ends. I'm still wondering if mine are broken, cuz the bass is practically non-existant. The overall sound is a bit flat and tingy also. I have a pair of Koss that I paid $20 for at Walmart, and their bass annihilates the Ti's low range. In fact, they have a more, full and robust sound quality all the way around. The only thing the Ti set has over the Koss is the clarity and separation of details. I've heard the Skullcandy Hesh have a richer bass than the Ti, but I haven't heard them. So, I'm not sure what happened with the Ti set or why they would be $80. Just a fair warning, but listen for yourself and come to your own conclusion as everyone has their own opinion. This was mine. Happy shopping!
- Wow, I really wanted to love these. I'd seen them last winter (right before Xmas) but everyone was sold out, and then I kinda forgot about them. So when I stumbled upon them last month I ordered them from Amazon (the pink fur).
They are so cool to look at - and over three songs I did not notice any lack of bass; they sounded just fine to me, just as good as my Eggos and PX100s and Super.fi 5 Pro...well, maybe not as good as that last one. But they are SO heavy! Before those three songs were even over, I could feel the pain on top of my head and dragging down my ears. After 5-6 songs my ears were painfully squashed, too.
I'm going to play around with the fit for a while and see if that helps, but if not, I will sadly have to return them. Too bad, because the price, looks and sound are all quite decent. I could even understand some of REM's lyrics that I'd never been able to make out before!

5 comments about CreativeLabs Creative EP-480 - headphones ( 51MZ0170AA039 ).
- It doesn't sound as solid as the stocked earbuds that came with my Zen Vision M 30GB (I did a review of this player).
I got it and plug it in, as soon as I did, I can hear static sounds as I push it into my Zen. I had a feeling it wasn't going to sound good. I ordered it a month ago and wonder why it didn't ship until I sent an email to amazon and they explained why and had it in two days. The pouch it comes in says Creative Zen Micro. This is the EP-480 for the Micro. Not the EP-480 for the Zen Vision M (Which would make me think the EP-480 has an upgraded sound board or whatever in it for the ZVM.
I'm looking to order another set of headphone because this isn't doing it for me.
It sounds 'ok'. It will do for awhile.
Update 4/29/07
These earbuds don't have much bass. The stocked ones did. I used to be able to listen to my music pretty loud and have it sound great, but with these, It jusy sounds like crap in my ears.
The only good thins about this is, it sounds ok when listening very low.
- these headphones definitely do not disapoint. you are not going to get much better for the price. the sound is great and they fit pretty darn well into your ears.
- I originally had a pair of these that came with my Creative Zen Micro, and I was always pleased with their upper and lower ranges of sound quality and fit. When it came time to buy a new pair of headphones after an unfortunate accident, I didn't look at any others to replace m old ones. The only problem with these new ones is that the foamie covers tend to fall off fairly frequently and it gets worse with use.
- I have found these earphones to be really comfortable, and the audio quality is good. Yes the foam covering has come off eventually but that took some time, and wear and tear. Good value for money.
- this earphones fit my brother's ears perfectly without being very uncomfortable! the music output was great!

This earbuds are as cute as could be, sound great, and are durable, but are very, very uncomfortable. I can only wear mine for about a half hour before they begin to hurt and after an hour I have to take them out---then that's it for the whole day. They are a somewhat soft rubber on the outside but the inside is hard plastic; they are comparable in quality to the earbuds that come with iPod nanos. For the price they are adequate, but you can spend about the same or a bit more and get earbuds that are all this and that you can wear for longer as well.
I ended up buying some "Koss "The Plug" Portable Headphones" for under $20 and can wear them all day; I would recommend something like this instead.
I do like the colors that these earbuds come in, but they are more than an accessory for me and have to be usable as well. The sound quality is just fine for a cheaper ear bud---no complaints here.
Mine often fall out because they do not change their shape to accommodate your ear; your ear must change shape to fit this earbud, hence the discomfort.

- Unlike most cheaper earbuds that I have tried, including the ones that come with an iPod, these will actually stay in my ears.
There are more comfortable earbuds out there, but they cost a lot more (like the Shure e2c, noise reducing ones).

- i got this headphone as a gift, couldn't be better, i'm an audiophile on my sleep :)
this headphone delivers a good range for both bass and treble and the spectrum for both the clarity and its noise cancelling feature makes this a very good companion for travel or in my case for going to sleep. I like to listen to music before going to bed.
The sounds it reproduces egreeses like a surround sound only its on duplex ('',)
amazing, sometimes, it emersed my senses so much i forgot how loud my headphones had got that the noise cancelling feature cancels itself from its own sounds.
Overall, Im so happy to have this as a gift. couldn't be better.
- HOW USED: primarily for flying, but also at my desk w/ my laptop. COMPARISONS: Before settling on the Bose QC-2's, I tested (on flights) the following noise-cancelling headphones: Bose QC-3's, Sennheiser PX-250's, and Solitudes (LINX, ver. 3). All had good-to-excellent sound, plus individual pros & cons. CONCLUSION: which headphone is "best" depends on your tastes, physique, and priorities. PROS (vs. other models): more comfortable for long periods than on-the-ear phones; have the deepest (more comfortable) over-the-ear cups; use normal batteries--you're not compelled to use expensive, proprietary batteries; noise-cancelling component is built-into headset (vs. awkward capsule on wire). CONS: clunky when turning head to side or trying to sleep; ears may sweat in sealed-off cups. Though not perfect, the Bose QC-2's are the best noise-cancelling headphones on the market (for me). Though pricey, they're worth it, making frequent flying far more pleasant!
