2 comments about Philips SBC HS520 - Headphones ( behind-the-neck ).
- The "behind-the-neck" design on these Philips headphones is fantastically comfortable. I wear them daily, either at the gym, at the office, or with a biking helmet. The sound quality, when paired with my iPod Shuffle, sounds good to my ears (although I'm no audiophile...).
- I bought and returned several headphones. I love the thread like wiring system in the HS520... NEVER tangles for me...love that part. I had a Koss before and got sick of the tangles at the gym. The sound quality is excellent especially for the price. I am looking for another pair now and really am finding it hard to find something in the same price range for this good a quality of sound.

1 comments about Rivet Stereo Earphone with In-Line Clip Lanyard and GoClip - White.
- I wanted headphones that offered good sound quality, but I didn't want to reach the hundreds to do it.
I discovered this pair, and I read some pretty good reviews regarding sound quality from cnet. However, many of those reviews also stated that they had rather poor cable construction. I took my chances and unfortunately it seems to be true.
I ordered my first pair from ritzCamera, and everything was great. The sound blew away any other pair of headphones I had ever had, and the price was great. After four days the left earphone went dead. RitzCamera didn't even have me send the product back, and a few days later I received a second pair, with no charge, or hassle. Hopefully this pair would prove that the first just happened to be defective.
This second pair performed perfectly for two weeks. However, the left earphone slowly went dead. As in, I had to wiggle the cable and stand/sit in the exact right position to make sure that things were making full contact. Four weeks after that no amount of positioning my self awkwardly could fix it.
As far as the whole lanyard ability going on, I never used it but, it seemed to be a relatively sturdy set up.
Also, the cables are not insulated in rubber, instead they are insulated with cloth (at least on the outside). This looks rather interesting, but there are two problems. The white cloth gets dirty, and due to the cloths texture a lot of noise is created if it rubs against your shirt or body.
The cloth would hardly bother me if the headphones just had better cable construction.
If that were the case, these would be a great sounding cheap pair of headphones.
-EDIT:
The producer of this product has addressed the cable construction issues noted in this review. They were even willing to replace my broken pair at no charge but the postage of the old pair to them. I have had the redesigned pair for several months, and they are still in operating order. Due to this I would change my rating to 5 stars if I could.

5 comments about Sony MDR-NC11 Noise Canceling Headphones.
- I'm not gonna lie, at first I thought these were pretty great. They fit comfortably and the sound was pretty good. However, I had these just over a month when the right ear bud all of a sudden stopped producing sound. I go to Sony's website to see if they have a solution. Their solution was this "Check to make sure the headphones are plugged in. If problem persist headphones will need to be replaced. Well isn't that nice since the warranty is 30 days. I now truly hate Sony and will not be buying any of their products.
- I like Sony products in general and I completely trusted SONY quality. But this time I'm just so disapointed with this pair of earphones. They are uncomfortable to wear, not worth the high price and provide very poor sound quality. I didn't buy them from Amazon. I hope I bought the fake earphones otherwise I really should be careful with Sony products in the future!!!
- When I first got them, they seemed great - they took out 100% of all the noise around me. The in-ear design cancels high frequencies, the circuit kills low frequencies, and the music covers everything in between.
Now for the bad - they get a little uncomfortable after a while, and shortly after I bought them, the stupid volume knob started to have problems. Sometimes the left channel would drop out completely, other times, both channels would dissapear - I pulled out the soldering Iron last night and bypassed the knob. They are still uncomfortable, and the circuit box is always in the way, but at least they work again.
- If you're looking for headphones that deliver great sounds while cutting out a lot of background noise, these are the headphones for you.
My primary MP3 player is a Playstation Portable. I like having an all in one sorta system (video games, internet, videos, pics, camera...), but was unhappy w/the audio output. Even with Sony headphones that I thought worked great w/my cd player, the sound was too quiet and there was practically no bass. Then I got these headphones... problem solved. Volume problems are all but gone and the bass level is GREAT. If I were to have any compaints about these headphones, it would be that if they're jostled around too much, the sound of the jostling comes through in the headphones a bit too much.
Side not for those looking for headphones that will just make things quiet: these probably aren't for you. If you're a constant traveller who's looking for headphones that will let you get a good nap on the plane ride, look elsewhere. The noise cancelling is definetly best w/music.
- For the price, this noise canceling headset is not worth it. Basically the sound lacks any sense of fulness and the active noise canceling is subtle at best.
If you prefer a headset that is not over your ear, but an earbud then I would go for any of the Shure headphones. They do not actively noise cancel, but the fit is more comfortable since there are multiple options in terms of size and ear foam material and the sound is noticeably better especially the bass.
If you prefer an over the ear headset, I just got the Audio Technica one and they are fantastic. They are not as easy to carry around, but the active noise canceling is comparable to the Bose models out there and at a lower price. All in all, skip the Sony MDR-NC11 or at least set your expectations properly.
