  1. these are my second pair of skullcandy headphones and just AS I EXPECTED they truley rock.

  2. Normally, I love skullcandy merchandise. But these chops feel like headphones from the dollar tree.
The sound quality is mediocre at best.
But the confort it provides is decent given that it stays on your ears because it clips there.

But what really makes these headphones terrible, and hopefully a flaw that most skullcandy headphones won't have, is the lifespan of the plug.
I've taken good care of my chops, and they barely lasted me 2 weeks before the plug began to act up, and die.

    Terrible product!

  3. Over the past few years, I've converted to buying skullcandy products. I have a pair of Smokin' Buds, as well as Lowriders. Both I am completely impressed with and love to wear.

Therefore, when I decided to get some over-the-ear headphones to wear for sports (I snowboard), I automatically went with skullcandy. BAD IDEA. Straight out of the package, I skimmed my iPod for a good song to test them out on. I tried them with Chamillionaire...the bass wasn't even audible. I tried Aerosmith...the high notes were grainy and unbearable to listen to. I tried Death Cab for Cutie...even the middle-ground notes were fuzzy and really made me want to just turn off my iPod.

They're comfortable, I'll give them that...but as for actually listening to anything with them on, probably not going to happen. And, for 20 bucks, I expect way more. Wal-Mart can give me $5 headphones that work better than this! I returned mine today (I bought them yesterday) and spent 10 more bucks for the Nike Vapors. WAY better.

Actually, anything would be better than these...

  4. I bought these as a replacement for some old Sony headphones that I have had for years. Now, I don't any of the ear buds nor do I own any of the other larger versions that this company makes. I do own one set of overpriced earphones that have a very tinny sound (tinny not tiny) that not only won't stay in my ears when I work out, they won't even stay in when I am sitting still. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair of ten dollar Sony's that stay in, have a good sound and block out any outside noise.

  5. I hardly ever write reviews for things I purchase, but these earbuds disappointed me that much...

Bought these hoping to replace some old Sony earbuds (8+ years old) that have pretty good sound quality and are still running strong, but have a tendency to fall out my ears. I already own Skullcrushers (which I love), so I decided to give this Skullcandy product a shot...mistake.

The sound quality of these Chops makes them feel cheap. The only good points I can find about these things are the comfort and the hangers that go around your ears. Waste of $20.

Oh well, I guess I can use the rubber earbud covers on my Sony buds.

  1. These "cans" sound tremendous! In my opinion, right up there with the venerable Koss Pro4AA's but much, much lighter. These aren't audiophile quality but sound great for general and very comfortable listening purposes. The 50mm drivers bring out the music nicely without pumping up the bottom end with a phony "phatness!" The cord's long enough but a little thin, so be careful. For the price these are tough to beat! Enjoy

  2. I have owned many different types and brands of headphones over the years, some inexpensive some very expensive. When I needed a new pair for a mini stereo system I read alot of reviews and picked the Panasonic RP-HT560 headphones. They reproduce sound including bass very well. The only problem I have with these headphones is the cord. It could be of a heavier guage-the original feels a bit flimsy. All in all, for the price they are very good.

  3. I picked up a pair of these headphones overseas and they have travelled several thousand miles with me over the last 6 months. There is no wear and tear yet; they actually came apart slightly when stuffed in my carry on but I just snapped them back together. The sound is amazing for the price, they are my first pair of panasonics in a while and I think Ill stick with them if this is the kind of quality and value I can expect throughout their lineup.

  1. I bought a set of these headphones 2 months ago and they already quit working. They were very uncomfortable and never seemed to fit right. The cord began to come apart almost immediately.

  2. I bought this product and agree with the other reviewer. It lasted one month. Even though it has the Nike logo, they don't support the product. Nike will send you to Philips because it is manufactured by Philips which has horrible customer support.

  3. I've gone through 2 of these in 1 month. On the first, the right headphone stopped working after about 2 weeks. The second pair -- same problem, but only after 1 week. I don't know if they're just from a bad batch or what...

The sound is ok, but they're not that comfortable. They're rough on the ears, and the way they curve around your neck almost inhibits your movement.

For retail of 29.95, they're a major letdown.

  1. These appear to be clones of Skullcandy's Smokin' Buds, So...quality can't quite be assured. I have not bought this product myself.

  2. These very affordable earphones are comfortable and deliver clear sound. Both the bass and treble are strong and the ear adapters really do block out external noise quite well. It took a few days to get used to the earbuds in my ear, but having three choices of adapters really helped. If you want some nice clear sound from your IPOD and don't want to spend $70+, I highly recommend these.

1 comments about Grado Prestige Series SR325i Headphones.
  1. I love these headphones. They come with the 1/4" plug, so you will need to get an adaptor to play on an Ipod. It is harder to find an adapter for 1/4" to 1/8" at any of the mass-market electronic stores. If you intend to get the Grado 325i and want to use them with an mp3 player, order Grado's adapter when you order the headphones. While they will really sound better with a headphone amplifier with an mp3 player, they actually sound very good even without. The amplifier fills out the bass and depth. It really makes a difference with almost any quality headphone, but it is not necessary with Grado all the way up to the GS1000 which sounds even better directly from the Ipod.

The sound is very forward. There is no sense of distance like being in a concert hall. You feel like you are sitting right on the stage with the musicians. They are not as comfortable as the Audio-Technica or the AKG, but if you purchase the comfort rings which fit on the outside of the earcup and fits between the earcup and your ear, they really are comfortable enough. It adds just a bit to some separation which givs you a little bit of a sense of distance.

I also really like the retro look of Grado and that they fit on the ear rather than totally surround the ear. They do not make my head or face sweat. They are also open backed headphones which gives a very nice open acoustic which I generally prefer to the closed backed headphones with the exception of the Denon headphones which are just plain wonderful.

To get to brass tacks, I cannot speak as any kind of expert, but I doubt that the Grado's are really that nuetral which is something the audio reviewers always mention. I do not think that the Grado's sound as colored as the top level Sony--the Sony 5000, but I think that John Grado has been working to achieve his personal ideal of what a very good headphone should sound like. He is imposing a certain sense of his own esthetics onto his customers. I love the way they sound. He may just be smarter than the rest of us and has the courage to say that good taste trumps "science" in setting the sound of his headphones. I do not listen to Grado headphones every day. I tend to listen to the Audio-Technica ATH-AD900 the most. To me, Grado's are like a wonderful desert. I save them for special ocassions. When I listen to the 325i or RS-2, it is always a great joy. The GS1000 is just plain over the top. I really love it. The GS1000 does not need the comfort rings. They are plenty comfortable on their own. You can also get the "comfort rings" from any Grado dealer. That is what I did. With rare exception, I have purchased all of my headphones from Amazon or Amazon Marketplace. It has been a good experience uniformly.

  1. I own an older pair of these, so decided to get another one based on performance of previous model. Like this one better in terms of ease of use (auto tuning), but don't like the headphones because they are very uncomfortable. I have taped the inner tension panel to the upper panel to make them less tight on my head.

  2. These are the absolute worst headphone I've ever owned. The sound is terrible if you can get it working at all. The tuning button feels like playing the lottery, you press it and hope you'll hear some sound. Maybe a few minutes later you'll be fortunate that it will actually find one of the right frequency. Most of the time I can't even get the things working. When it does, the sound is terrible, it's rough with occasional popping.

  3. I've used these fewer than 5 occasions and the plug-in adapter already has some type of short, therefore useless. If you "fudge" around with it enough you may get it to work. FRUSTRATING!

  1. I loved these headphones!!! They are great for those in a band. Or if you are like me and love BASS! It has volume control so you can turn it up higher. These are so loud you can hear them throughout my 2 story house. Its crazy. But ONE thing, The cord is WAYYYYY too long! I was standing up and someone accidentally tripped over them and now they dont work. But overall it is worth the price. Just be careful with them

  2. These headphones are GREAT! From the outside, you can't really hear the bass, but when you put them on, it's simply amazing. These headphones have real bass, and you can feel the vibrations and thumps. Do not think that these headphones will give you only bass, they are also top quality in treble and overall surround sound you will hear things you couldn't hear before. These will impress you, I highly recommend buying them. They are also extremely adjustable for every angle, and the cord is long, but not too long. Lastly, they're comfortable, and look really tight. Buy them, you won't be disappointed.

  1. Item is exactly as described. A word of caution, make sure the headset is compatible with your player.

  2. I have been using this product for 3 years and the only thing that happened like 1 month ago is that the foam ripped but you can buy another 1 for like 1 dollar. I suggest you buy them, perfect for your MP3 player.
