- they look pretty, and if you can get them to stay in your ear they sound adequate. but getting them to stay in your ear is the trick! as the previous reviewer mentioned, the earbud portion does not remain in the ear easily on its own, and the over-ear clips are completely useless. i bought these as temporary replacements for the headphones that came with my new creative player, but i've only had them a week and have been searching for more comfortable new headphones. the in line volume control is nice, though - since i've already used them a fair bit i'll be keeping them for emergencies or what have you, but they won't be my main set.
edit: i attached some foam covers over the earbuds and they actually fit as i think they were intended. now i can appreciate that they have decent sound for little headphones. they *can* be made better, but they don't come that way. three stars.
- the behind the ear hook is a clear plastic that is really soft and has no real hold and the in the ear part looks odd and bulky not the best idea the volume control is nice, and there is good sound
- They shipped promptly, they do what you expect, and they're not cheap junk. Can't say it better than that.
- They fell apart within one week of normal/light use. The headphones that you get for free on airplanes are of higher quality.
- they fit comfortably, but when you get into a hardcore workout they tend to come off because the ear piece is flimsy

- The material is very light, very flexible in a bad way thus it doesnt snuggly stay in place, if I lean my head backwards the headphone touches my neck/upperback maybe it is too big for me yet all my friends did not like it as well.
If you're looking for a neckband go for these:
-Sennheiser PMX70 Sport Line Stereo Neckband Headphones (5 stars)
-Sony MDR-G57G S2 Sports Street Style Headphones (4 stars)
Or vertical style:
-Sony MDR-A35G S2 Sports Headphones (5 stars, so far no issues, a little fragile handle with care)
This is one of the headphones that you should not consider. Many alternatives are out there.

- Sound great, a little tricky to get around my ears and in place. These headphones really need a carrying case of some kind.
- Nice and light. I can wear the phones for hours without discomfort.
They will cause some discomfort IF you push them too far into the ear, but if worn properly they are just fine...
NO instructions came with the earphones.
- The design of these earbuds are something to behold: a delicate clamp that keeps the buds in your ears without actually passing the berrier of the outer ear. The sonic success is more arguable.
Some of the mids sound very accurate and even exciting, and the feel around your ears is quite a departure from standard earbuds and in-ear monitors. But because the buds always remain outside your ear, noise from outside can be an issue. Moreover, these seem to lack the kind of definition I was looking for; the bass was muddy and undefined, and the treble lacks snap.
Maybe the most worrisome aspect of these earbuds has nothing to do with the product itself. A number of Asian bootlegs of the earbud have been marketed online, selling for under a few dollars. They look like the original, but they sound quite different. If you're going to invest in a pair, make certain it comes in the original cardboard box with literature. Otherwise, you can almost guarantee that it's a fake. A respected name like Audio-Technica deserves more more.
- So I've tried many (most every in ear from $60 to $500) and like these a lot. I think they are the best head set if you don't want a in-ear set.
That said, the real problem with these is they are not in-ear. If you press them into your ear to block out ambient noise they sound incredible. The base and treble are very accurate. I got them because the in-ear headsets block out at least 25db and some up to 35db. This is great for sound but bad if you want to hear what is going on around you.
Also, these things are a work of art. Every one that looks at them smiles and want to touch them. They way they fit is awesome.
- My husband wanted better sound when running with his ipod, but the noise cancelling in-ear headphones raised safety concerns for this urban jogger. These hybrids proved the perfect solution. Very light, stay put while running and deliver great sound.

5 comments about Sennheiser HD 215 Extreme DJ Sound Headphones.
- These headphones have a special hinged joint on their right earpice. One intent of this feature is to let DJs move the earpiece aside to monitor ambient club sound. But this feature also works to provide a tight fit for listeners with asymmetrical, odd-shaped heads. I first took notice of this at a Red Sox game at Fenway Park where a large number of Sox fans wore HD215s and were using this feature. They sound great, too.
- These are probably the best headphones I've ever listened to. I don't buy headphones over $120 so I don't know how they compare to the Ultra-high end; but these are certainly better than any other set I've bought. The isolation is REALLY good; I can use these things--unplugged--as ear-plugs for when I just don't feel like listening to anything at all. Some of the reviews about needing a bit more power is correct--but that's to be expected on a set like this. The bass might be slightly weak for some people but I think it's just because the high-end cutoff is so far up there that, in comparison, the bass might appear weak. Some minor EQ'ing fixes that anyway.
- I am not an audiophile by any means, and was searching for higher end headphones for my husband who is. I owned a pair of Koss Porta Pro headphones a few years ago and was thrilled with the sound quality (I mention this because it is the only thing I can compare them to) I put the Sennheiser cans on after seeing my husband's less than thrilled reaction and was shocked by the poor, poor, poor sound quality. Not sure whether or not they might be busted, but for the price tag there is no doubt they are being returned ASAP.
Baffled by the more positive responses here, and I wish my review could be more technical, but there it is. Ladies be warned, this may not get the result you want on Father's Day. As for my husband at least he was too excited and opened his gift early.
- Great Product , The sound is great , you dont hear ambiant sounds and it comes with a leather bag and a adaptator. You can flip one hear so you can hear music on your speaker while listening to the next song , it's really useful for mixing. The only thing is that the bass are a bit weak but well for 100 buck you can hardly get something better! Shipping was really fast ... By the way those are really big so don't except to wear them on the street unless you want everyone to laugh at you. The wire is really long i think i could put my mp3 player in my shoes and still use the headphones
- I purchased recently a couple of headphones but I didn't like them. The I saw this one and it looks so comfortable. So when they arrived I tried them for a couple of hours and they didn't hurt my ears at all. I love them. They are perfect for a DJ too!
The only thing that I find is that there is no bass, but that is good for a working DJ because the music can be heard better.
All in all, it is a great product. Very cool!
