- I have had these a week now and am EXTREMELY pleased ! And no, I'm not a "younger person", lol. Mid 40's and lUv my muZic. I have bought a handful of different earbuds and small headphones for my mp3 players and haven't really liked any of them. Earbuds kill your ears after an hour or so and never really fit both my ears, as they are different IDs. Plus I like to be able to hear what is happening around me.
Use these outside and inside, while in my workshop, sitting at the lake, on the deck, rolling around in the yard and while surfing. I'd use them while riding my handcycle but I don't want to sweat all over them.
They are VERY comfortable, very lightweight, excellent sound quality, ya don't have to set the volume high to hear all the instruments/frequencies either. I listen to all types of music and they ALL sound great on these. Wiring is flexible AND high quality. They are WELL BUILT, fold up and stow in minimal space. Oh yeah, they look cool as well, ya don't have to be a teenager to appreciate THAT... most of us, anyway.

- I think everyone else has the headphone specs covered, so I just wanted to comment on the MacRed color, which currently sells for a spectacular $20.93 here. It's a muted warm plum color with a metallic sheen, which is far better than the fire engine red I thought I was going to get. I would get this color even if it weren't the cheapest one available.
To add a bit to the specs, the sound quality is rich, clear, and very satisfying. The headphones also fit somewhat loosely and awkwardly on my head when I wear my glasses, so I wouldn't strongly recommend this if you usually wear thick framed glasses. The whole thing is made of light plastic, but I expected that from small headphones like these. Overall, I'm really pleased with these headphones.
- I just received my pink Lowrider headphones in the mail today and was pretty excited. That excitement went right down the drain as soon as I put them on. I was expecting exceptional bass and sound and to be honest, that isn't what I got. These headphones were replacing some I bought from the Dollar Store (yes, you heard that right) and the ones from the Dollar Store had MORE bass than these. I feel like I have wasted my money. Although the sound is clear, it just isn't perfect and if these didn't cost 30 dollars (and I hadn't ordered them online) I would gladly switch back to my Dollar Store headphones. Even messing with the equilibrium settings on my iPod Classic didn't do much. If you're looking for exceptional bass quality, believe me, these AREN'T for you. I'd buy them for cheap but not for the price they're asking. It's just not worth it. AND, they keep falling off of my head and they're at the smallest width possible.
At least they're cute.
- These headphones are sweet to look at, but not so hot on functionality. They fit fine, but I'm disappointed in volume quality and control. Your money could be put to better use ... Sony, Bose or such.
- I really love this product from Skullcandy! It hits hard with the bass, as well as delivering well on rock songs as well. It is a great, all-around headphone.
My one beef is that they do fall off fairly easy. Look down, and they are on the floor. I wish it took a little more to get them to come off.
I love the portable fold option that these are made with, but it does such sometimes taking them from around my neck, since the part that bends sometimes catches my hair. Not necessarily the worst thing, but sometimes can be annoying.
Overall a great product from Skullcandy. These are probably my favorite headphones that I own.

3 comments about Sony Mdr-As100W Active Style Headphones (White).
- I purchased these at a major store on a Saturday to replace some $10 headphones by Sony that had shorted out. Price was $99, but I had just got paid so figured, I'll splurge because maybe the sound quality will be great. Was I ever wrong! The sound had no bass and was quite inferior to my $10 model. The cord was so non-ergonimically planned and dangled to my mid-thigh (I'm 6'1" tall). Also, these headphones actually hurt my ears BIGTIME! I returned them for a refund the very next day. In summary: (1) 10 times more expensive than basic model (2) very poor sound quality (3) painful in my ears and (4) monstrously long cord. Did they test this product with any consumers? Man, someone will be getting fired over this one.
- I have gone through several sets of earbuds for my MP3 player, but was never really satisfied with the sound, and none of them fit securely enough to use duing any sort of activity. I decided to get myself a quality set of light weight headphones and picked up these Sony's last week. I am totally satisfied with them. The bass is much fuller than any of the earbuds I have tried, and the midrange and treble much more detailed. When playing music I have heard before it is like listening to a whole new recording. Once properly adjusted, the headphones are comfortable and secure, too, allowing me to use them while engaging in routine physical activity like running, cycling, etc.
- These are actually silver in color, and not white as Amazon describes them (this is the only color that this model is available in). These headphones are probably not worth it at full retail price, so if you can get them at a discount they're not a bad deal. The quality of materials is very nice (much nicer than the other Sony headphones I've used). They are probably a bit fragile however, so I wouldn't buy these if you plan on tossing them around in a gym bag. The cord is also typical fragile Sony material and includes an extension cord so it can be used both for arm band MP3 players, and then extended if you aren't using an arm band.
I like that is only has one cord to deal with tangles. Sound quality is good (not spectacular) but this is meant for working out and if you want that kind of sound quality, you will be paying $100+. It fits well for me at least and is very secure.
For some reason whenever I use these on a treadmill, I will get mini electric shocks to my ear for the first minute or so (probably static electricity from the machine). It is much better than some other workout headphones I use where the shock is much more painful and frequent.

- good clarity and nice 4m long cable - not sure of the benefits of a detachable cable though. however, its not so great as far as wearing comfort goes - the spongy thingie that cups the ears is not soft enough for long wearing comfort. i was happier with the previous SHP805 by the same company.

5 comments about Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket Earbuds, 11mm - Chrome.
- I ordered a pair of these to use at the gym with my iPod and also with a music system we jack into while spinning. They sound great. I treat them very well but I can't believe that people use these while doing extreme sports.
I have gone through two pair in 4 months. The volume control failed in the first pair. Skullcandy replaced them but it took forever. They never reply to your e-mails or website comments which is why I gave them 1 star.
The second pair also started to fail at the volume control. So I used DeoxIt on them and that cleared it up. Don't sweat on the volume control or you will have to clean it with something because it will start to have spots that don't work and sound will drop out. After about 1 month of use the jack failed. I would have to twist the cord to get them to work.
Now this is just from using them at the gym. Not skateboarding or snowboarding or any of the stuff they show the guys on their website doing.
When you do the second RMA, they hassle you with they don't cover accidental damage. They make you send the entire pair in this time. Then you wait 4 weeks and hassle them with e-mails and on their website and they never respond but they finally ship you a new pair. So 6 weeks after I sent them in I get a new pair.
I'm sure these will break just as soon as the last pair. But for what they cost I will keep sending them and hassling them. These don't even last as long as a cheap $10 pair. I could buy 6 pairs of those for what these cost.
- Sound quality is better than the standard issue iPod ear buds, but have to say they do not exactly rock my world like better quality ear phones. OK if you want a small upgrade.
- I really expected to have the button that allows you to take phone calls and skip forward songs, but this doesnt have it. Its just a pair of headphones. No microphone, no shortcut button. Just fits into the IPhone jack. I wouldn't have bought them if I knew this, but they are decent headphone so I am going to hang onto them as backup. Still, I am pretty disappointed. Should have done more research, I know.
- Just because these headphones come with three different sizes of rubber covers, doesn't mean they'll stay in. The design requires them to fit into the ear canal; there's no place for the cord to rest and stay put. They're useless for any activity other than sitting quietly at your keyboard because if you move around, they'll fall out. I rigged something up with an old over-the-ear piece, but its the equivalent of taping your glasses together, i won't wear these in public.
- La calidad de sonido es muy buena el unico detalle es el estuche para guardarlo, podian haber hecho algo mas facil de usar, es muy tedioso guardar los audifonos en dicho estuche, uno pierde mucho tiempo.

5 comments about JBL Reference 510 Noise Canceling Headphone (Black).
- Very nice headphones, specially for the price. Great sound. Noise reduction is not that great though, but the headphone sits very snugly over the ears and blocks out most of the outside noise as such.
- I ordered the 510's to try, as the price was nice. I also recently replaced a pair of Reference 410s due to the fact that I broke a previous pair after 3 years of constant use. The JBL Reference earphones are accoustically the finest earphones on the market for an audiophile with a penchant for classical music with extreme high fidelity on an Ipod or other MP3 device. I use an 8G Ipod Nano Video, an 160G Ipod Classic Video, a 60G Creative Zen Vision M, and a Scandisk Sansa 2G. I take the bus everywhere, so I always have music on me at all times. It is extremely important to me that it sound outstanding.
The noise canceling pod for the battery is clunky, no volume control like on the 410s, and there was very little noise reduction over the 410's. I'll keep them for a long overseas plane trip, but so far I feel the 410s are the superior model all around.
Both the 510 and the 410 are a really cool design, which is what attracted me to them in the first place...almost as high design as the Bang & Olofsun models. They're small enough to not look obtrusive in public.
Bottom Line: Get the 410's!!!!
A Heavy-Duty Listener in Seattle
- Pros: These headphones sound fantastic over a wide frequency range. The noise cancellation is good for the price. They fold up nicely so they're good to travel with.
Cons: Mechanical design is very bad. The noise cancellation DSP is housed in an external package that hangs from the headphones, which gets very annoying. The ear cushion comes off very eaisly. Worst of all, the left ear piece snapped off after only about 6 or 7 months of normal use. Very disappointing.
- These were a Father's Day gift for my husband. He was thrilled to get them - he is a frequent flier and was going to fly the next day. He loves the headphones! These are especially suited for him as he sweats easily and these sit on the ear, not over the ear as most other noise cancelling headphones do. And the price was right!
- I have had these headphones for about 8 months now, and have not had any problems with the build quality of them. They sound great, something that you would expect from JBL, the only problem that I have with these is that they are uncomfortable wearing for more than 30-40 minutes. I thought that the pain would go away, but it seems to just have gotten worse instead of having the headphones "broken in". If you have a small head, then these would be perfect for you, otherwise, plan on having to take them off or reposition them every half hour or so.
With the noise cancelling function, they are fairly good. On planes, they block out all of the engine noise which is the reason why I bought these. However with the case of most NC headphones, they do not block out conversations, they just muffle them (Quite a bit, but not completely).
I rated these a 4 simply because of the pain from wearing them extended periods of time, the sound quality definitely deserves a 5.

3 comments about Microbeam Travel Clock.
- I got this clock for Christmas and put in brand new batteries. A week later the batteries were drained. I tried a new set of batteries - again, maximum life was one week. I didn't use the light except to make sure it worked the rest of the time it sat on the counter in the bathroom. I emailed Brookstone asking if I just had a bad item or if the product was just poorly engineered. Their only response was a canned return policy. And of course I can't return it now since the original packaging is long gone. I will never buy another Brookstone branded product.
- I travel every week and really like this alarm clock. It is great to have a built-in flashlight. I use this alarm clock 4 nights a week and frequently use the flashlight feature. I have had the clock for more than 1 year and have never replaced the batteries. I am buying another one for a gift. The only drawback is that you have to remove the back panel to change the alarm time.
- I bought this clock before deploying in '04 and it lasted much longer than expected. It withstood three deployments to the Middle East and a dozen + camping trips. I had no problem with it in temperatures from -20 to 140 despite a constant barrage of fine sand that destroyed my other electronic items. It even lasted through being dropped several times. Several plus one was too many however.

5 comments about V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds - Rocker Red.
- The V-MODA Bass Freq Earbuds sound great and are very comfortable, but don't seem very durable. I've had mine for a few months now and they've held up to all the abuse I've given them.
However, one major weak point seems to be where the headphone jack attaches to the cable of the headphones. I think it may be due to the fact that the wire coating is quite thin and rather flexible.
Other than the minor durability concern, they are an excellent pair or earbuds that I recommend to nearly anyone.
- The red earbuds lasted less than a month and one ear piece quit working. I've had the blue ones, more expensive and they were great. The v-moda earbuds have wonderful noise-reducing qualities they just don't seem to last. At least the rocker red.
- If you want deep, smooth, and powerful bass in an earphone, look no further.
They don't call these earphones "Bass Freqs" for nothing. Before deciding to purchase these earphones, I've been using the Bose QC2's for casual listening, but was in need of something more compact to go with my iPod Shuffle. After searching Amazon and reading reviews like you probably are right now, I came upon these set of earphones. What made me interested in these earphones was the exceptional bass they offered. After purchasing them for under $40, I tested them out with my mp3 player.
I'll be honest, the earphones took me a bit to get used to, because there really was an incredible amount of bass. Since I was used to listening to perfect mids/highs and mild bass coming out of the Bose QC2's, I wasn't ready for all the bass these tiny things packed. However, after getting used to the sound, I noticed that all sorts of songs shined with their bass frequencies, and suddenly everything sounded different.
This is where you want to consider what you listen to more. Songs that bring more of the mids/highs out like classical or symphony types, or songs that you like to hear a more bass emphasized tune, like some rock and rap. Either way, take the name literally, these headphones really pump out the bass. In some songs it will almost sound like there is a subwoofer in the room with you, which was what drew me to these headphones.
Another plus of these headphones is that they block out a ton of outside noise when seated in your ear correctly. My roommates literally yell at me to get my attention, and soon give up and throw something at me.
There are two negatives that I have seen so far: The cables are extremely thin, so try not to yank them around or get them caught in something, as they would probably rip. But they do fine for casual listening and working out.
The other thing is that you need to seat them in your ear correctly. When people say the bass from these earphones make the music sound muddied, it could also be a result of having it in your ear incorrectly. You need to try different angles and seating so that you find the "sweet spot" in your ear where the mids and highs come out, instead of just hearing the bass vibrate your ear canals.
Overall, I highly recommend these earphones for the bass fanatics, or even the casual listener who likes a little more thump in his music. I would look elsewhere if all you listen to is classical-symphony-mids-highs sort of stuff.
- The V-Moda Bass Freq Earbuds are fantastic! I use them with my iTouch, while working in my shop, or on my tractor. I can hear only crystal clear music, and nothing else! The price was unbeatable.
- These headphones had amazing sound and fit so comfortably. The reason I gave them one star is that they broke after about only 2 months of daily use. The build quality on them was horrible.

- This is quite a bulky item for the Koss plugs, but is just fine for other stuff, like Shure's push-to-play device.
- Purchased this for a pair of Koss Spark Plugs and my iPod Shuffle. Both fit great together in the one case. A bit bulky for the phones alone, but great if you want to pack a couple of small items together.
