  1. Ok, I just purchased this TV and have spent the past hour and a half trying to remove the stand/pedestal. I searched the web to no avail until I saw a review posted on Amazon. So to help all those people with the same issue - you simply remove the 5 screws on the back of the tv closest to the pedestal (there are 6 parallel screws - don't remove the top middle screw - hope this makes sense.) The stand is connected to a metal plate that will slide out of the base of the TV and voila!

More later....once I get the TV hung and turned on!!!

  2. I hope to expand on the potential of this product at a later date, for now it has been GREAT. I have satellite and will expand on the setup to recieve the full potential as advertised by Toshiba.
Fast shipping, well packaged, and good tracking info.

  3. easy set-up. dvd's look great. there is a slight blurring with sports action if your 6 ft or less from tv. a limitation on lcd response time from what i've read. i'd still recommend it to anyone.

  4. I had a few doubts about purchasing this Television refurbished but it arrived in "like new" condition and within the stated time frame. Communication with the seller was superb and they let me know where my product was every step of the way. All in all I am very satisfied with my purchase and will definitely be buying from them again!

  5. Great picture and good value...some issues with a "light" spot on the screen that won't go away. Product support could be much better...buy it and hope there are no bugs...good luck. Great for watching sports!!!

  1. Although when the box arrived it looked like the enclosed TV would be in pieces, it was unharmed. Setup was a snap. Others have commented that the menus are very slow, but I didn't find this to the the case. I connected Comcast expanded basic cable and was able to auto-detect all the analog and unencrypted digital channels. Removal of the foreign-language, home shopping, and unused digital channels from the line up went well, except that there are so many channels it took some time.

I have also connected a GameCube using the component video cable, a Wii again using the component video cable, an Oppo DVD player using HDMI, and an Apple notebook via DVI. All have worked flawlessly. The only negative is that there is NO 1080p content out there right now to judge the true brilliance of this TV. 720p looks fabulous.

  2. This is a great TV. The picture clarity while watching hockey and football is remarkable. There is a slight fan noise, associated with this type of TV, that I didn't have with my old CRT TV. This TV has plenty of connections including HDMI and DVI. I had to use the DVI(computer) connection between my cable box and the TV because Comcast doesn't have an HDMI output unless you rent the cable box that has a built in recorder. If you already have a DVD recorder you may not want to pay $5 a month more to rent one from Comcast. Comcast will give you a DVI to HDMI converter cable that will not work with this TV. The customer service at Sharp in clearing up this connectivity problem was great. One phone call. This was after two trips to the Comcast office and four phone calls to Comcast customer service.
I am glad I bought this TV.

  3. The TV was delivered just when promised. It was a great price and I checked extensively before ordering. I am very pleased with the process.

  4. I am very satisfied with the Sharp Aquos I purchased from LCD Mart through Amazon. I received the product on time and in great condition. I received a follow up call to see if everything was in order.

  5. Have had this TV for over a year now and I still ooh and aah while watching football, or anything for that matter. We have a very open living room with tons of sunlight coming in and you can still see the picture perfectly. Recently tried hooking up my PC to the back which was really neat - it functions just like a world-class computer monitor - wish I could afford one for the office. Fantastic product.

  1. We purchased the Toshiba 52 Regza after researching many brands & models wanting the best set for the money.
In a side by side comparision between the Sony & Sharp Aquos - the Toshiba had a superior picture. I was frankly surprised, initially anticipated the Sony with its much higher price tag would be the best & had intended to purchase the Sharp Aquos but the Toshiba won out hands down in comparision.
Since we have purchased the Toshiba 2 months ago - am completely satisfied with the high quality level of the picture.
The sound could be improved but I use a Bose home theater so the sound eminating from the set is not a major consideration.
Colors are true - black is black & in HD mode its incredible.

  2. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our purchase. This 52LX177 has a commendable picture quality, and makes our older 27" flat screen TV look outdated. We appreciate the 'no reflection' properties of LCD Screen - our well lit aquarium and open blinds in the background do not reflect off the TV - infact you forget they're even there! I have heard of inherent `blurring' with LCDs, but when comparing this with my brother-in-law's 42" Plasma I didn't see any unusual blurring on this set - I believe the minimal blurring I saw on selected programs was in the source rather than the TV. One thing I'm still trying to figure out is the difference between 120hz and 60hz - so far they both seem the same even in fast moving action scenes, although I'm sure there is some inherent advantage in 120hz that I haven't noticed yet. The viewing angle is great.. even if I stand adjacent to the set, every bit of the program is as clear as when seen from front of the TV! Now I can't wait to get a Blue Ray player once those come down to an affordable price, so I can enjoy movies in 1080p! I would recommend this TV to anyone.
