1. I bought this TV in January 2007 and I love it. The picture is phenomenal. A friend of mine bought the smaller version of this set and loves it too.
   At this point in time (late Nov 2007), though, the newer models are out and so this one is likely outdated or will be discontinued soon. But if you can get one for a solid discount off the new models (say $1500?) you wouldn't be unhappy.
   
   And as many others have written, set the Picture Mode to something other than Vivid for a more natural, pleasing view.



2. I've now owned this tv for 14 months and have found it near perfect in every regard. The only "let down," is that non-HD shows are not as good as they were on my non-HD tv. That said,I would not go back to my non-HD tv for any price.
   
   As mentioned by other reviewers here, the sports broadcast are particularly outstanding. Numerous visitors to my house have been blown away by the 50" broadcast of college and NFL football games ... they're simply incredible to behold. I've simply not seen any other HD tv with a picture as rich and sharp as this Panasonic. I've heard the latest versions, with super black color capability, present a better picture, but their cost is 6-7 times what people are paying for this 50" plasma ... and that speaks volumes about this Panasonic jewel.

   Let me add one thing about Amazon. I purchased this through Amazon and it was my first big ticket purchase through them (obviously higher priced than today). I saved roughly $500.00 buying through Amazon. I paid no sales tax, where I would have paid 7% in Florida. I also saved an additional chunk of money as it was priced lower than Best Buy et al. I was pleased by the entire transaction, and Amazon even credited me $100.00 as the priced dropped soon after I ordered it. I was very impressed with Amazon, have since purchased some smaller items from them, and will be purchasing soon some high end Canon camera and lenses through Amazon. This Panasonic Plasma has a great quality picture. I do not see how any brand can have a better picture than this. I was torn between Pioneer and Panasonic, but now so pleased I chose this brand and model.



4. I have other plasmas, but this is the best picture I've seen. Excellent value. If you spend twice as much you can probably get a 1080p that has a better picture, but that will only have value with bluray because cable and satellite won't give you enough resolution now to push this TV.



5. Good - The picture is fantastic.
   
   Bad - I had to have it repaired 32 days after I bought it. Good thing it was still under warranty. 18 months after I bought it and now out of warranty,it developed a thin black horizontal line all the way across the screen about 8" up from the bottom. Cost to repair - $1600 !!!! This is more than I paid for it. Poor quality like this for a product that is this expensive is absolutely inexcusable.

1. Only reason I purchased this TV was because it was fairly inexpensive. I put it downstairs for the kids to use. Of course the TV is not as good as a plasma since you need to be directly in from of the DLP projections, but for the kids it is good.
   
   Stick with the LCD and plasma Tv's if you want a family TV.



2. This is a great HDTV for the price. Picture quality is outstanding.The only drawback is the sound quality is average and the remote control is poorly designed. I tried to have my Direct TV remote programmed but it was not compatible with this model.



3. Be prepared to pay the "DLP Tax" annually. That is one lamp each year. Toshiba knows that these lamps will not run 6-8000 Hrs. 2000-3000 is normal. I have spoken to 3 different Toshiba Authorized repairs centers and hey all verify that a year is the average lifespan of these lamps.



4. I have a Toshiba 42HM66 Model # TV. We like the picture quality of the television but the sound is lacking - can't increase the way you want. The one major problem is we have had it 13 months now - and have to change the DLP Lamp - which costs over $300. This television we figure has about 2800 hours of usage on it. These lamps are advertised usage over 3000 hours - that's so false!!! I am so upset and know that i have to purchase a new lamp every year - i think not - I think i am going to sell this television and buy a SONY!!!! oh yeah - the customer support ith toshiba was no help either - good luck!



5. I wish I knew before I bought this TV for my dad. I think I paid $799 for it just 15 months ago and the lamp has to be replaced. Until this point I was happy with Toshiba products(I have a 42" LCD and two HD-DVD players) but now...How can you justify a TV that costs $1000 retail having to have a $200 part every year? Of course the warranty expired 3 months ago. An extended warranty may have covered the new bulb but you have to make sure, for $50 bucks or so the 2 year warranty would cover 2 bulbs at this rate and save about $400.

1. Sylvania LC320SS9 32-Inch LCD HDTV
   My home office TV went on the fritz and I needed a video fix but quick. (I live in my mancave!) that said, I'm still cheap enough to do a litttle research before hitting the store or clicking on "BUY PRODUCT".
   I should state up front that I am not an audio/videophile, but I am a musician who knows a bit about electronics and a designer so I know "what looks good", (in general). I hit the Sears store and walked up and down looking at the sony and other name brands I'd seen with good ratings on line. then I see this Sylvania, that cost a couple hundred less than these name brands with a picture that matches or surpasses them. I DO suggest you go to the store because the pictures really were of different quality on different sets.
   anyway, after checking to make sure this set had all the hook-ups I'd need, (it has more; HD, VGA, gaming ports, etc.)I took a chance and bought it. I only had so much room, and despite wondering if a 32 inch would have a weird looking picture, I am pleased to announce the picture is just great. I unboxed it, set it on my desk and it scanned my cable channels in about two minutes and I've been viewing in bliss ever since. I've played computer games on it and it works wonderfully for that too. the sound is obviously not as good as my stereo, but it's fine for me or any family living room set.
   I truly thing this TV is a good deal. And although I'm skeptical of TV's made by other companies and sold under a different name, (this Tv is made by Funai), I'd buy this set again in a minute. I'vew been reading comments about the difference betwwen 780i and 1080I. Although this TV accepts 1080i, apparently that doesn't mean it will display that. But that is meaningless to a non videophile like myself. the picture is ten times better than my 1999 trinitron and not too different from the 52" HD picture on the set we have downstairs new sony. While an expert can pick my review apart, I'm sure, if you want a good tv picture at a good price, this is a good choice.



2. I had been in the market for a new TV for roughly 6 months. I only had one on loan from someone and my time was close to running up. Luckily there happened to be a sale on HDTVs by sylvania at Kmart. So I picked one up and set it up. The picture is great, and it even has energy saving features[HOORAY!]. It has a great amount of outputs, 2 HDMI, VGA, 3 Video/Audio, S-Video and co-ax. It even has a 3.5mm jack so you can plug your computers audio in with the VGA. All in all its been going good for the last month.

1. Beware of the " Box Store "is all I can say. You literally can save five to seven hundred dollars buying this model online. No tax when buying online. Usually free shipping also.
   I reviewed scores of makes and models of plasma,DLP's,and Lcd out there and the Panasonic TH-50PX600U 50" was the right one for me. If you want a plasma go with this Panny. Great HD picture. I was amazed and the standard definition at 480i. We hooked the Play Station 3 up to it via HDMI and watched 480 p dvd's (The Departed) up converted to 1080p They looked every bit as good as Blu-Ray disc (X Men). Lots a features and easy to use onscreen guide.



2. I purchased this plasma 10/05/07 and I love it!!! It has plenty of inputs for all of my components, couple it with a home theater or strong HTIB and it will blow you away. Be sure to buy a good Hdmi cable and surge protector and you are good to go. Make sure that you have some help with assembly because the tv is HEAVY.

I buy this tv by amazon just over $1500.But when i on the tv i was stant about the picture clarity & sound.For a medium size room you don,t need any home theater system.Some reviewer say that it makes lots of heat but i don,t think so.Whenever i touch the tv or try to feel it ,it alweys feels me very cold.More then a year of research finaly i decide to get it.First i think to get sumsung-5064. 4. Shipping 4 days late;however, in perfect condition. Set-up easy, great picture right out of the box. 720P picture is very good, maybe the 1080P would be better; however, for the money difference, I feel the 720P is the better buy at the present time. Maybe in time, of course the 1080P, would be a better way to go. Sound quality on this TV is great! Overall, I think this is a high quality TV and you can't go wrong on this particular model.



5. I bought this HDTV in late June 2007. I have absolutely no regrets. People can talk 1080p all they want unless you have HDDVD or bluray there is nothing out there. There isn't even that much HDTV on cable or direct tv yet. This set has great sound, if you don't have a home theater system with this TV you won't need one the sound is that good. The picture is out of this world! What you can get on cable in hi def will make it so you won't even want to watch regular tv again. Six months in and I have no complaints everything works as stated by panasonic. The sd card option is great, it makes your photos look BIG with no loss in quality, as a matter of fact they look better! I hooked up an inexpensive upconvert DVD player and my old DVD's look better than ever. This month I purchased an Onkyo HT-S894 HTIB Onkyo HTS894 5.1 Channel Complete Home Theater System w/ Single Disc DVDand now my livingroom is like a movie theater. The effect of sound and vision is out of this world I could not be happier! All of my family and friends love it. Well that about says it all, if you are considering this TV and can still find it get it now you will never regret the purchase. The newer model Panasonics which are more expensive are not as good as this model.

1. After many months of careful product research and price comparisons I finally opted to go HD. Truthfully, I had second thoughts about getting rid of "ole faithful"-a 1999 36" Toshiba, which has not required one bit of maintenance nor experienced any downtime whatsoever since I've owned it. Nevertheless, the time came to jump ship from SD to HD, especially since I subscribe to most of the sports packages DirecTv has to offer.I chose correctly. The Sony 52" Bravia is a magnificant package-somewhat more pricey than their competitors-but certainly worth it. Outstanding picture quality and a very easy remote to navigate. Instead of mounting on the wall I chose instead to place "the monster" on a solid cherry finish console TV/components table manufactured by Hooker Co.It warmed the family room immeasurably and looks like it truly belongs. DirecTv quickly and accurately changed out the dish and receiver, and Firedog completed the install with my Sony surround system and combination VCR/DVD player.Trust me when I say you won't go wrong with the 52" Sony Bravia purchase.



2. I am a semi-professional photographer and I'm very sensitive about image quality. This TV replaced an existing wide screen tube TV that was working fine, so I was able to take my time and fully research a replacement. To cut to the chase, this TV represents the current state of the art in image quality. Period. No compromises.
   
   First, as to screen size. Make sure you take the time to explore the various web sites that discuss the proper screen size for your viewing location. You'll probably be surprised at how large a screen is recommended. I was initially looking at screens in the mid-40" range, but after doing the math it was clear that the 52" was the answer. And they were right, this 52" is perfect for my viewing room -- you get immersed in the film.
   
   Second, image quality. Sony has always been at the leading edge, but I carefully evaluated the competition. Samsung came close, and the Samsung TV was a bit cheaper, but the Sony had deeper blacks and more saturated colors; not by a lot, but it was noticeable. Now here's the important part. A lot of the TV's look great when displaying a Hi-Def picture, and that's what they have connected in the stores, but the proof of the pudding is how the sets present non-HD images. The Sony XBR wins this one hands down. It's not even close. Don't make the mistake of not evaluating the non-HD capabilities. You might be very disappointed once you get the set home.
   
   My only complaint about this TV is that it does not have true picture-in-picture (PIP) because it only has one tuner. So the ability to split the screen and watch two channels at once isn't available. While I'd like to have that capability, it's a fair trade off for the spectacular image quality.
   
   In summary, this TV simply has the best image quality available today. Connect it to any HD source, particularly Blu-Ray, and it will take your breath away. It's a bit more expensive than the competition, but saving a few hundred dollars would be a false economy. You're going to own this TV for years and it will only cost you a few cents more a day to own the best -- it is definitely worth the cost of admission.



3. I actually bought the XBR4 version, which I didn't really see much difference between the XBR4 and the XBR5 except for $300. I did all my research and shopped around for months. I finally had my choices down between the XBR4 and the Samsung 8 series. The XBR4 won out, just by the fact that it doesn't have a shiny screen and doesn't have glare all that much. The picture is phenomenal, it's great for playing my XBox 360 in high-def and it's got more inputs than I'm gonna use cause I got everything running through my stereo. No complaints here except that's it's pretty heavy. Hanging it would be a 2 person job, I barely got it up on my entertainment center. Other than that, this is the best TV out there,in my opinion.



4. We have had this Sony Bravia 52XBR5 for 8 months and it is the best TV picture we have seen. It arrived in great condition, easy to hook up to the satellite receiver. It made viewing TV a pleasure just to see the detail.
   
   It does take two people to move as one cannot lift it by using the bezel.



5. Superb picture, everything works from home theater sound to ordinary DVDs (on an upscaling player) to the Red Sox. Price through Amazon marketplace was excellent for the date, and vendor went out of his way to make replacement of the first set delivered in a damaged box quickly and without hassle.

1. The HDTV picture is sharp and the colors are crisp and clear. Flesh tones are excellent. Standard def picture is very good. DVD picture is very good. The viewing angle is good. Sound is very good. The controller and the on-screen menu are easy to use and follow. I highly recommend this t.v.



2. The LG 37 is one of a very few 37 inch LCD units that are full 1080p displays. For those of us who want the best HD picture we can get, this is a good choice. The picture is clear and crisp and the audio is typical of sets of this type, which means if you want great audio, add a sound system. I found the controls somewhat hard to decipher, but once I got the idea, fine adjustments to color and sound were easy. I had no problem finding hanging hardware. Trivial complaint is the large red off light that I can do without.



3. The TV came as promised. Very quick actually. No issues with packing. Set-up was pretty easy. Getting the picture quality up to the same quality as my girlfriends Sharp Aquos has not been easy though.
   
   I started by swapping out the HD cable box, and, then had the cable company come out to the house to check the signalling. I upgraded to HDMI cabling but while the LG has a very good picture, i don't feel it is as high quality as other reviewers had suggested.
   
   The remote works well, easy to figure out.
   
   Overal all nice, but not superior.



4. I did a ton of research on LCD and other flat screen TVs prior to purchasing this, I really wanted a full HD TV on my 37" screen despite the fact that many places said that on TVs smaller than 45" the difference wasn't noticeable. I got what I wanted and so far I love it! Great picture and great sound also!



5. The picture is good on this TV, but the remote is very user unfriendly....small buttons close together and all alike. It is in a bedroom and almost impossible to change channels in the dark. Also I don't like the way the channels are set up. After each channel there is a dash and a 0 or another number that makes no sense to me whatsoever. It is set up in four channel types: TV, DTV, CADTV, CATV....why I am not sure...it is just confusing to me. I guess that is why they price was reduced on this unit. I should have sent it back, but I found that too much problem. Had I read a review stating this information I would not have ordered the TV. I cannot recommend it.

1. I went to a couple of our local big box stores and took a look at all the flat-panels of around this size as a second TV.
   
   Pros:
   This model (and several other LGs of various sizes that we saw) definately had the most pleasing 'out of the box' picture quality. Several others had less vibrant images or narrower viewing angles or both. The Sony screens had very vibrant images that were pleasing from a distance, but suffered from jagged edges due to poor anti-aliasing. The image on this screen has great color, great contrast, and excellent anti-aliasing. That means the picture is not only great in HD, but also very pleasing in standard TV resolution.
   
   Other factors favoring this HDTV are a great build quality and a screen that does an excellent job of maintaining brightness and clarity when viewed off-angle - even off-angle high/low.
   
   Cons:
   If I have one minor issue, it's that there the aspect ratio control includes no 16:9, proportional (non-distorting) zoom. Programs are transmitted in dozens of different formats these days. It's not that unusual to find a program that matches the full screen aspect ratio, but has a significant border on all sides. We have another HD set that allows me to zoom the whole picture up without any change in aspect ratio (because changing the aspect ratio would distort the picture). This set does not offer that adjustment.
   
   My only other minor nit-pick with this product is that we have, through our local cable company (Cablevision), a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250 HD cable box. Although it's a breeze to hook up to the LG, using a single HDMI cable, the remote on the cable box does not have a code to program it to control the LG brand. Although I've found alternate codes that give most of the functionality, I cannot use the mute button on the cable box remote for this set. Although this is certainly not LG's fault, it is another minor inconvenience.
   
   Conclusion:
   All things considered, we're very happy with this HD screen. The small negatives are certainly outweighed by the excellent image and build quality - the most important measures of performance.



2. Well, we picked the TV up at a special sale at BrandSmart a few days ago, and at first it seemed like a great bargain. But here are the few things we didn't like about it: when I connected HDMI DVD/5.1 surround sound system to it, I found out that it loses the signal every time you have to pause the movie for whatever reason. Going back to unpausing it didn't work always- it would lose the signal and just the sound would come on, then I would have to shut it down and start it again, and sometimes that didn't help neither. Very disappointed! This happened with both HDMI connectors. The other major issue we had was the TV must have a very narrow viewing angle because when we put it a little above regular viewing position (we used it in the bedroom and when you lay down you can't really position it straigh on level with your feet, it has to stay a bit higher) the clarity went out and the picture looked like an old film negative, where you see silhouettes in places where black color was involved and you'd have to stand up and have to watch it at a "straigh at your eyes" angle or the picture suffered. That was the final straw. TV went back, and for a couple of hundred dollars more, we got a Samsung, same dimentions, but the difference is just unbelievable. Same position of viewing, no picture problems at all... The price was right, but this LG leaves a lot to be desired.



3. Finally time to upgrade from the portable black & white. Had a little Christmas money & started shopping around. First was looking at the larger sized Olivia's at Target & Kmart. They seemed like quite the realestate for the $. Checked around & after listening to some of the online horror stories on returns, I got a little spooked. After a lot more review reading online, everything seemed to point to Samsung & Toshiba. Started checking them out at Circuit City & they looked fine, but the picture of the LG seemed to really pop, compaired to the other two. Had not planned at all on LG, but was really taken by the side by side picture comparison. Didn't seem like it mattered which size you were looking at, LG seemed a little better. Hemmed & hawed for a couple of days & thought I'd go see what Best Buy had to offer. Wasn't all that up on Best Buy & really wanted to give C.C. the business, but Best Buy had a reboxed unit for a really great price. Again, tried to be very subjective on the picture quality as they had all three brands & darn-it, no matter what size you looked at, from the big 40somethings on down, LG seemed to have a picture that was more alive.
   I really wanted to get a bigger screen, & after watching the Super Bowl on it, it's not the best for watching sports on - size wise - but I felt quite good with myself for not having to put anything on the credit card. Paid off is a much better feeling.
   So, it's been several months now, have pretty well mastered the set & am still quite happy with the purchase. It's a really great looking set, you can get some pretty impressive sound out of the stock speakers, you can see it from some extreem side angles - happy all around.
   Lot's of inputs, but have only used the DVD & VHS hookups so far. I'd definitatly recommend this little LG. - As a side note, just got back from a hotel in Colorado Springs that had LG 42"ers in the rooms. The maintenace guys told me that the ones they got had issues with high elevation. Might want to check into that, if applicable.

1. I ordered the Toshiba 23HLV86 for x-mas. It came on time and all was as advertised. I like having the DVD as part of the TV as it saves space and minimizes cords etc. Only negative is the delay as you switch station to station - it takes longer then my old TV to switch.



2. TV and DVD player work great. Picture is clear and sound is good. I ordered a good bracket to hang it on the wall. When you order a bracket make sure you buy a good one so it hol;ds the TV level.



3. This is a perfect space saving bedroom tv. The DVD player is awesome and plays any disk you put in it - Divx, jpegs, mp3s, etc. Awesome for playing all those torrent downloads on something other than the computer! Sure the channel changing takes a little bit of time, but no more than most other lcd/hdtvs. I haven't noticed the heat being an issue - I have it wall mounted on a tilt mount - it does get a little warm, but it's not melting paint or anything!



4. This is the perfect TV for my small den (approx. 9' x 12'). It fits inside a bookcase so it does not intrude on the room. Picture is great for both TV and the DVDs. This item is exactly as advertised - no complaints from me.



5. We had high hopes for this combination TV/DVD player and it gets very light use in my daughter's room. Unfortunately, it has had problems over the past 3 months, not turning on at all, and after several weeks of "sometimes" working, it no longer powers on at all.
   
   Save your money and buy a Sharp or Sony.
