1. I was looking for something to raise my center channel speaker off the floor (it won't fit on top of the TV) and these stands were perfect. It comes in a set of two, designed to get larger speakers off the floor, but one works fine for my one Center channel, and I've now got a spare stand. :-) For the price I found nothing that could come close. Only thing I'd improve is to add a way to pivot/tilt the upper platform of the stand to get the speaker angled towards the listner.

1. i am glad i chose the height i did. the imaging of sound is at our eye level. plus the wire for the speaker is very conseal then most and the base is perfect in size so you dont tip over your speakers.
   
   i also recommend you using velcro instead of what comes with package. the adhesive is not as durable.
