1. i am glad i chose the height i did. the imaging of sound is at our eye level. plus the wire for the speaker is very conseal then most and the base is perfect in size so you dont tip over your speakers.
   
   i also recommend you using velcro instead of what comes with package. the adhesive is not as durable.

1. upsides:
   looks pretty hot with the rest of our furniture.
   is a little smaller than i imagined, so it fits well into the space i'd thought it might be too big for.
   
   downsides:
   didn't get the correct pieces, and had to contact the vendor and that took about 2 weeks, so if i was in a huge hurry, that would've stunk.
   took over an hour to set up, which is all sorts of crazy.
   quality and cost of item are incongruous.
   
   overall:
   i got a touch less than what i expected.

1. I bought this and the Salamander Chameleon Geneva cabinet from Amazon. The active cooling rear panel snaps into the rear of the cabinet, and has slots at the top and bottom to run speaker and power cables. It's a little difficult to install, as it's a very tight fit. Once installed, it does a great job of keeping the electronics cool with the auto-sensing thermostat that sits atop your electronic equipment. The two fans are quiet enough that I don't notice them running unless I am right next to the cabinet.
   
   Overall, I think this cooling panel is a good idea if you want to enclose your home theater receiver and other electronics in a cabinet without the risk of overheating. I think it should be about half the price, but the fact that it's custom fit for the cabinet makes it a good complement for the Chameleon series cabinets.
