1. I love this tv stand. I looked for a long time for something different. I didn't want a huge entertainment center or the same tv stand everyone else has. I wanted something that was well made too. This one fit my needs to a T. It's very stylish looking, has great shelves for components as well as a top shelf to put candles or books, etc. Take a look at the dimensions too. It fits very nicely in any area, doesn't take up a lot of floor space and adds nice vertical height. I put this together by myself although it would be easier with 2 people. It's very sturdy and adds such a great look to my living room. I bought mine in black and it looks so great. This stand was also much less expensive than most I looked at and it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this product.

1. I bought some Ascend Acoustics speakers - the larger size units, to make a two-channel system. I decided to go with these stands, as they make the speakers look good - like studio monitors, I guess.
   
   I couldnt get lead shot conveniently, so I filled each with two containers of copper BBs, which worked perfectly for weighing down the bottom. I used blu-tak poster type adhesive in five small balls to adhere the speakers, and while a large force would knock them off, even if the speaker/stand units fell onto the ground, likely all would remain affixed.
   
   These stands are very sturdy, high quality, yet simple and nice. i wish they would put a bit more weight in the bottoms from the factory, but then again, shipping would be more expensive.



2. There are a lot of speaker stands out there, and I feel like I must have looked at all of them. These fit my color, cost, and height requirements, so I ordered a pair. They arrived intact, though the packaging was questionable. Assembly was fairly quick and easy. The bases are made of MDF, I think, and painted matte black. This hides minor scuffs, I've found. The three support tubes are hollow steel painted glossy black. You can fill the tubes with sand as I did. You also can fish your speaker cable through one of the rear tubes, but be sure to do it before you put the sand in! Oh, and if you are going to use sand or some other fill material, buy small quantities--it doesn't take much to fill the small tubes. The top plate is black steel and mounts with screws. Some adhesive foam pads are included to decouple your speakers, but I used generic wall putty. Fit 'n finish is good, and with the speakers mounted, the stands don't tip very easily. All in all, these solid stands do the job without drawing much attention at a great price.
