1. I searched long and hard for a long time to try and find a solid wood piece of furniture to set my television. Everythign was either too expensive, too ugly, or just the wrong color. I finally decided on this, and overall, I'm glad I did. It's much more attractive in person than in the photo. The color of the photo is actually a lot warmer than real life. It is not honey tone by any means.. Which was luckly what I wanted! HOWEVER.. :( Even through the package was packed in 4 layers of padding, cardboard, bubble wrap, etc.. the item arrived with a split in the side of the wood..... After the bother of unpacking it, there is no way in hell I will be returning it.. I have contacted Gothic Cabinet Craft to try and see what they can do and will update this review when I find out. I'm hoping they can refund some of the cost since the resale value is considerably lower because of this cosmetic damage. Other than that, and teh circus of fun it was to unwrap the darn thing, I'm happy with the purchase.
   
   **UPDATE** The people at Gothic Cabinet Craft handled this situation VERY well. I was given a prompt reply and a phone call. Two options. 1. To send me some wood putty and stain, plus a $35-40 check so I can repair the crack. 2. I assume was to send me a new stand.. I never heard the second option because the first one was accepted. No need to throw out/deal with trying to sell the first stand, and waste the butt load of packing material that would need to be recycled once again through shipping a new stand. I am pleased with Gothic Cabinet Craft's service.
