1. I really like the look of this stand! I'm getting a 42" Flat Panel LCD TV along with it, and after searching around online and at stores, this was in my opinion the best value. I bought it on a Monday, and even with the slowest shipping option (free shipping), I received it that Thursday!
   
   The assembly of this stand is pretty straightforward, and shouldn't take more than an hour. If you get this stand, which I recommend, just make sure to really pay attention to the directions and the orientation of all the pieces, or you'll have to backtrack a few times like I did!
   
   Two negatives that I have with it:
   
   1)(Small negative) It's a little low for me. If it were a few inches higher, it would be perfect. But even at its height, it's still fine.
   
   2)(Big negative) Along the same lines...with the way the support bars are designed, the shelves are not tall enough to fit DVD's in upright!! Whats the deal?? You'd think if you were to design a TV stand, you would at give the shelves enough height for DVD's! Technically you can fit them in there, but you have to place them behind that horizontal chrome bar, and then make sure you have enough space to tilt each DVD at an angle in order to get it out...sheesh! Either that or just stack them on top of each other, if you don't mind it.
   
   Besides those two low points (no pun intended :-) this is a nice stand, and overall I am glad I bought it.



2. Came in a couple days with free shipping. This thing looks awesome in my living room. the shelves are a little short, but the overall height puts my tv at perfect eye level. Holds cable box, stereo, ps3, nintendo wii, and 42" ambilight with style. (could also squeeze in a dvd player or vcr if needed) The instructions suck, but thats to be expected with any furniture you assemble.

1. My only complaint about this unit is that the doors are a little difficult to line up. The door hinge screws are real small and the holes that you screw them into are kind of tight. I used a small, phillip-end, jeweler's screw driver, but I also ended up reaming the hole with a small drill bit so that the screw can go in easier. I recommend a good, sure-grip screwdriver with a small phillip bit to do the job. Also, when I finished assembly, the doors had a tendency to scrape against the bottom of the cabinet stand. I suppose that problem could have been avoided if I had lined up the doors better, but what is an amateur builder to do?
   Overall, I am satisfied with the unit despite some minor, construction flaws that could have been avoided with better tools and a better builder. The unit is very attractive looking as I prefer the media storage units with doors rather than the open racks. I highly recommend anchoring the unit to the wall for safety reasons. When the unit is full of DVD's and/or CD's it can tip over very easily.



2. I love the look of this cabinet. It's a sturdy cabinet on carpet and on regular floor. The outer parts of it are solid. My problem with it is the fact that the shelves are particle board and that they bend severely in the middle especially with the shelf being loaded with dvds to the maximum. Even my shelf with few dvds on it is bowing and my two extra shelves also bend, so it wasn't a defect. The good part is that this holds so many dvds, and it is a great buy since other dvd/cd holders that hold 200+ dvds usually cost much more and look terrible. So I would recommend that you buy this, and cut some real wood to size, paint it, and use it instead of the provided shelves.



3. While I have always followed the age-old adage of "You Get What You Pay For," I have to say that I was hoping for more, even in this price range. While I am no stranger to assembling furniture such as this, my cabinet had several pieces that just didn't quite line up and, consequently, caused me to re-drill a few holes.
   
   Additionally, while the black veneer is of the quality that one would expect in this range, it was already separating from one of the corners after only a week of ownership. Nothing a little wood glue didn't fix, but it's still a disappointment.
   
   Lastly, the cabinet is very wide but has a very shallow depth, causing it to be fairly unbalanced if you aren't careful about where you place your media. I initially loaded the cabinet at the top and left the bottom empty. It tipped over forward, spilling the contents and creating quite a mess. I shudder to think of the consequences if it had fallen on a child or a pet...



4. Took a little time to assemble, but came out great. I always use woodglue in the seams that I can. The shelves do bow and the doors rub on the bottom, but not enough for me to complain about. For the price I have to say I am very satisfied.



5. There were many misaligned pre-drilled holes. I had to disassemble and drill new holes. Unit is still mis-aligned; doors scrape the base. Shelves sag. Very flimsy. I have done woodworking for many years and this is one of the worst projects I have seen. Sorry I bought.

1. We just purchased this TV stand (somewhere else) and LOVE it! We were concerned that our DVD player and speakers may not fit into the unit but to our surprise everything fit perfectly and we still have plenty of room for DVDs. Our 42" flat screen looks great and we have lots of room on the sides which is what I wanted. I was worried that it would make the TV look small but it does not. The middle door has a screen over it instead of glass which would be great for speakers. One thing I love here is that they make this part sort of optional and the screen can be removed and another piece of glass (not included) can be placed there instead to match with the other two side doors.
   
   It was quite heavy and bringing the box up to our 3rd floor apartment was interesting. When I first looked at the assembly directions it felt like a daunting task but after organizing all the parts and making a game plan it wasn't that bad. It took us about two hours to put together. The parts are made of a very thick and heavy weight particle board with thin wood paneling on top making it look almost like solid wood with slight grains and knots. The fact that it is not solid wood is what is keeping the cost down (sort of). Though I would have preferred solid wood construction, this is the next best thing. This stand has weight and looks like it is solid. We are very pleased with the end result,
   this is a very elegant and beautiful piece of furniture!



2. This thing is huge and very heavy. FedEx was lucky I was in the house when they made the delivery, because for sure, the driver would have a sore back after carrying this fine piece of furniture. It took me I think a little over 2 hours to assemble this item. Everything was perfect when it comes to placing the screws, doors, hinges, etc. Seems like this was perfectly outlined and planned in the factory for consumers to assemble all the pieces together without any glitch. My goodness, when it all came together, it looked like it was made from solid wood. Fine piece of art.
   
   Now for the negative. This is the deciding factor for consumers whether to get it for looks over funtion. When I placed my Pioneer Elite 84 in one of the racks, whoa, I cannot close the door and this piece lacks in depth. For those people with the new huge audio-video receivers,I would say measure them first before buying this piece of furniture. Heads up to all of you guys, depth is a little less than 18 inches.
   
   So, what i did is cut the back thin wood portion to give way for the receivers connections (back of the receiver). Now, I can close it after making some modifications on the back side. Ok, the result after making some modification. If you place this furniture on a wall where people will not see the back side from the sides, you are good. But if the back portion can be seen wherein wire connections are noticeable, you may see a little part of the back portion of the receiver hanging out because of the cutout I made so I can push back the receiver further so I can close the door.
   
   My verdict, I gave this only 3 stars since the company failed to consider the depth of big and huge audio-video equipment. Did I make a bad decision for buying this product, my answer is no. For the price of it, I think I am alright though making some modification. This is a case to case basis for audiophiles wanting all their equipment flawless. For some, this is a good buy, but for others, it may be a pain.

3. We found the TV stand on Amazon, but wanted to see it in person at the store before purchasing. This item was available and on display at Circuit City and we ultimately purchased it there for ~$400.
   
   I agree w/ R. Villa that the depth of the A/V cabinets is shallow for some of the largest equipment out there, especially once interconnects are made. As I've had to modify past entertainment centers as the other reviewer has noted, this was not unexpected to me.
   
   The unit was packaged nicely and is very heavy. Assembly instructions were fairly easy to follow and once assembled the finish is very nice. Stand has a rich, contemporary and elegant look.
   
   The unit fits our 61" Samsung DLP perfectly.
   
   Very pleased with the purchase.



4. Great stand. Would have gotten 5 stars except I had to rearrange the backing for my pioneer elite reciever. Its easy enough to make more holes in the back though. Great looks!



5. While the quality of the item seems slightly above the norm, customer service from this company is dreadful. My new equipment sat around in boxes waiting for a replacement for a damaged shelf that was delayed, then delayed again, by mix-ups on the company's part. Their refusal to budge an inch from their standard process, even though it meant further delay for a very unhappy consumer who had gotten tired of run-arounds and excuses, is a far cry from the real customer service I've experienced elsewhere. I will never buy another TechCraft item.

1. this vantage point is a sharp looking shelving system. this is the second one i purchased. I could not find it cheaper anywhere not even on Ebay. not hard to assemble but you have to read the instructions carefully. i have one in my basement and bedroom. the 180 degree swing it has is great for off setting the shelves. the track has a place to store the wires. not a lot of room but it depends on how many devices you have hooked up.



2. Sturdy, looks good, and the swivel function really helps when hooking up the TV, AV amp, DVD player, etc. Keep in mind when drilling holes that they all need to be vertical and centered in stud.



3. This Shelf system was very poorly designed and not very robust. The shelves are held up using only a friction method. The entire assemby is free to rotate and never stays straight since nothing locks it in. Two brackets are provided but the bottom bracket does not support ANY weight which makes it useless. The system "Design" is just not robust enough even though the materials are.
   
   I had to add several features to make the system more robust and ensure that it is stable on the wall. Also, the channel is not even large enough to fit enough cables for a Cable receiver and DVD player. It's just not worth the money even though its cheaper.



4. Everything was as supposed to be. The wire management slot isn't that usable for large cables. Installation instructions could be better.



5. Overall, I am pleased with this product.
   It is able to support my Yamaha receiver (top shelf), SAT receiver & DVD player (2nd shelf), and XBOX (3rd shelf). The main support that holds the shelves doubles as a conduit to hide the wires but it is not large enough to hold all the electrical, speaker and various other wires you may wish to put into it. I do not recommend this item if you have a very large stereo receiver as there is a limit to the amount of weight the glass shelves can support.
   This unit is very sleek and goes well with any contemporary styled room.

1. Great stands to have for your Bose 201 or 301 bookshelf speakers. They are very sturdy. Won't tip over. I think the price is high for 4 sheets of metal and a couple of aluminum tubes, but what else can you do with your speakers if you don't have bookshelves or a large entertainment center. The black and silver blends in well too.



2. This product is stylish and functional. Solid black finish matches most decor schemes. The product "hides" the speaker wires. Very sturdy. This product is an excellent match for the Bose 301 speakers.
