  1. Don't expect any service from a third rated company.
If you are buying a big ticket item or an expensive item, don't go with Samsung.
They will not help you when it breaks down even when it's under the warranty.
They will delay it until the warranty is over.

  2. stay away from amazon, filled with rippers offering low cost for products and who gets screwd, you do and amazon isn't doing anything about it, also don't trust this site http://www.escrowd.com it is a fake site made up to take your money, do not trust it as it isn't listed with BBB as a business in Paris France

  1. We were planning to buy an HDTV for sometime now. My wife did a whole lot of research and we zeroed in on Sharp. Good brand, great looking TV and not as pricey as a Sony...
We have an apartment and the initial few movies took us time to get used to...then we started loving it.
A friend of ours came over and recommended that we need to get a HDMI cable. we got the cable and man what a difference!!!
The picture quality on DVD's is just awesome...I tell you this is a great TV and we love it...we bought it directly at TigerDirect..great site...good service and no complaints...

PS: Dont waste too much time in research....Sony, Sharp and Samsung should be your final three

  2. Since we bought this tv, we have had nothing but problems with it and with Sharp. During the first month, we returned it to the store due to a banding issue. During the second month, we called the company to use the warranty to return it again due to the same banding issue. They sent us a new tv which came with yet another banding issue and dark vertical lines that looked like a burn in. We called the company to use the warranty again and they decided to send us the new model(64U), which we just received. This is our 4th tv which is not a new one, but a refurbished one, that came without the correct mounting screws and without a power cord. The only thing Sharp said they could do for us was send us the cord & screws, so in the meantime we are left without a tv.

  3. I was delighted when I received my new 42" Aquos. Everything I expected and more. Unfortunately after about a week it started to experience the banding that I have read about in other reviews. I called sharp, they asked me to send about 5 or 6 digital pictures of the line and give them a couple of day to review them. Three days later I called them back and spoke with a representative who informed me tje TV was going to be exchanged and upgrade it to the LC-42D64U from the LC-42D62U that I had ordered. Because of the holiday season the shipping took a little longer than I would have liked but received my new TV in about two weeks. I was very impressed that they were so helpful and that my TV was replaced. I would not hesitate buying anything else from them.

  4. Keep in mind this tv is a replacement for a 13 year old 20" panasonic tv/vcr. This Aquos was a replacement for the first one I ordered. I ordered a 32" one but it arrived with a cracked screen (thank you UPS!). I contacted techforless and they said they didnt have the 32" model in stock anymore, so they cut me a deal with this one, which is from the same series. It took over a week to receive the new tv, so if you're in a hurry keep that in mind when getting an order through eagle service. I ended up paying about $900 for it. I have this tv in my bedroom, so it's a little too big. set up was very easy and the picture quality is superb. After hooking up my xbox 360, I couldnt get any sound to come out. This was fixed by purchasing an HDMI cable. Gaming is awesome on this set along with watching dvds. I dont have a Bluray player yet, so I cant comment on how good that will look.

  5. If you have tons of money to spend, of course get the best in the market - Sony Bravia series. If not, this TV costs a lot less, but has almost as good image quality as those.
I got a 32" Aquos first, then I fell in love with the TV. I realized it was too small. Instead of returning it, I bought another one - this one. It was an excellent decision. Now it sits elegantly in my living room and provides us entertainment every night. I use it to watch HD channels (free ones...if you have an antenna, you can receive many HD channels) and I use it to watch foreign TV shows (I have a slingbox hooked up to the TV in another country). Of course, you need to connect a pc to the TV......
Overall, I love the TV and my family LOVE it too!

  1. Great deal. This is definitely the poor-man's plasma. The enhanced definition is almost as good as the HDTV versions. For the money, this is a great value, hands-down. If you are considering this product versus a non-plasma just go for this.

It has a beautiful picture, hangs beautifully on the wall and looks great but it does make a little noise on whites and when on in general which can be a little bit annoying! All in all, I rate this a healthy 3.5 stars.

  1. We put this TV on our kitchen counter, under the cabinets. The TV is nice and compact, but has a very sharp picture and good sound. The TV fits perfectly under the cabinets, and has an atractive appearance. Compact footprint takes little space. The remote control is easy to use and works well. Very easy to install and to use.

  2. Can't say enough about this great little set - terrific picture, easy set-up, outrageous price . . .LOVE IT!

  3. No problems, everything works out of the box -- only problem no Tivo code, but at this price - It's GREAT!!!

  4. This TV was purchased for my bedroom. The picture is great, small footprint which I like also. The only issue is that you have to almost be sitting on top of it for the remote to work correctly. At times I'll try to lower the volume and it goes up, raise it and it lowers, atttempt to turn it off and the volume goes up, etc. I'm afraid to press the menu button as the garage door will probably open.
    Just inconvenience.

  1. I just wanted to say that this has an AWESOME Picture! I took the advice of my friend who is the General Manager at a local Big Screen Retailer and bought this yesterday. I also bought a 37" Panny Plasma 2 yrs ago, from him, and this picture Blows the plasma away! Of course you have to be on a High Def. channel... but when you are.. its amazing! I watched the Rose Bowl Parade this am from start to finish. I have never watched a parade b4 in my life.. but it was like I was there! Now I have a really good dvd player.. but the pic is not all that even tho its upscaled. The way to go would be the Blue-Ray when they drop mid summer in price. Thats gonna give you the real 1080p resolution picture that these tv's want. Till then I am stuck watching anything in Hi-Def and I actually mean ANYTHING. Its just simply beautiful! Enjoy!

  2. I bought this set in Jan of 2007. It was in a showroom next to a Sony XBR3. Both had excellent PQ, but the MITS was a grand less. Having had the set for more than a year, I must say that I haven't had so much as a single problem with it. The picture both SD and HD (through DISH network) has been outstanding as well as over the air(I get Chicago stations)signals in HD. I actually went back and looked at the next years model(the 52244) and didn't like the PQ as well as the 231 series. If you can stil pick up this set-jump!
