  1. I bought this tv about 1 year ago and thought it was a good deal for the money, the picture its great with satellite tv, although it did have some sound issues.
The other day My 2 year was watching a video and all of a sudden we heard a huge pop saw flames in the back, and then it started smoking and burning. I called customer svc to complain, a supervisor called back the next to apologize and they said they would send a brand new tv, but i am still waiting.

  2. This is my second one. The first one lasted 3 weeks and started turning itself off. I took it back to the dealer and like an idiot decided to try another one. It worked for 13 months and started to do the same thing the first one did. Magnavox said there were no recalls and I was out of luck since it was a month out of warranty. I don't know yet what it will cost to fix but after paying $1000.00 for it and it lasting only 13 months, you can be sure that it will be the last Philips/Magnavox product I purchase.

  3. Seemed like a good deal until I noticed that the HDMI input didn't work. It's been in the shop now for a week. I'm hoping it just get replaced or I get store credit at Circuit City. Buyer beware, you get what you pay for.

  4. I got this product last August and it is still working to my satisfaction. I admit there are some kinks that are minor flaws to me, such as the picture turning off then on every so often, and the component cables are under the back portion rather than behind the screen. However, I got this for around $700 out of box from Circuit City and as a college student, this was a good buy considering I don't have a huge income. It's better than the regular television I had and watching HD programs and playing my PS3 (with HDMI cable) makes the pictures look amazing. Even my DVD's look better b/c of this widescreen television. I customized my picture and sound quality to my liking so I have no complaints there. The sound problem that others have did not concern to me. Like I said, I'm still in college so this is a good alternative for me until I can afford to upgrade to an even better product that I can play in my own home and get some BOSE speakers. My advice though is if you can afford to spend money on a new HDTV, do your research and pick a product that has better quality than this television. Good luck in your searching!

  5. I liked this tv a lot.. but one month afer the warranty expires, the picture goes out.. i get the sound, but absolutely no pictures... magnavox indicates that it needs repai.. I take to get it fixed and was told over $600 because display and controller need to be replaced! I did research, and found many similar situations with magnavox on the consumer complaints website... i looked for complaints with other manufacturers and couldn't find as many nor as recent as those listed for magnavox... i do not believe it to be an isolated incident! if you do buy, get the extended service plan with it... I didn't get the repair done and opted to get another TV....

  1. Good for what it is and what it costs. Just right for its intended use in my laundry room.

  2. Very happy with the picture. Would prefer smaller size speakers on the sides, as they make the TV look much bigger than the screen itself.
One time it started broadcasting ABC in Spanish......with all commercials in English and all adjacent channels in English. Cable company had no answer. By next morning it was fine, so I can't hold that against it.
Good choice for the $$$, although it is not HD. Very light and easy to move.

  3. I got this for my exercise room. I bought it along with a wall mount, and put it right in front of my treadmill. The picture is pretty nice, and it has plenty of inputs for hooking up to a dvd player, etc. The only real complaint I have about it is that it's not very loud. If I'm jogging, i have to crank the volume up to max and still have some trouble hearing it sometimes.

  4. Beautiful clear screen I am very satisfied with this purchase as it was easy to purchase set up and use. Thank you, JFMelville

  5. Well there isn't much to talk about. The TV is great, the instruction is welf explanatory.

  1. This has been a great TV. Very clear picture. The white glove setup was a real plus. Especially like that only a card is needed for HD rather than a settop box.

  2. This is a nice TV for the money, but mine died during the warranty period and it has been almost 2 months and still no repair. Multiple emails and phone calls to Toshiba tech support/customer service and the local authorized service provider has resulted in the major run-around and no fix. I still have no idea when the unit will be returned to me. Back ordered parts were received DOA and had to be sent back, tech people cannot figure out what is wrong with the TV, yet Toshiba refuses to do the right thing and replace the unit. I will never purchase another Toshiba product. And if you do and it needs service, be prepared to be without your product for a long time. Sorry, Toshiba, this just isn't good enough when people spend their hard-earned cash with you!

  3. Let me make this short. Beware when Toshiba says FULL 1080P, good chance it is not! Bought the tv and hooked up ps3 and no 1080P. Called up Toshiba and got some real bulls__t! Liars, and will never buy from them again!

  4. Hi, people.
I've just talked to toshiba center and they told me the TV actually does not accept the 1080p video input. They say it's "1080p" because it always shows 1920x1080 no matter what is the input signal, but it's an interpolation of it... they confirmed that the TV DOES NOT ACCEPT 1080P INPUT SIGNAL.
The TV is fine, but i'm VERY DISAPPOINTED with its description. This "1080p" name is a durty sales strategy. I was looking for a true 1080p television (that can truly accept a 1080p input) and i bought this one and now i would spend at least 400 bucks returning the TV and buying a new one... result: i'll keep this TV, but unsatisfied... i've been made a fool.
If you're gonna buy this product, be aware of this issue.

  5. I bought this TV last Spring and am very pleased with it.HD and regular DVDs look great running on a Toshiba A-2. I was kind of upset because I thought I was getting 1080p but not the case. That kinna pissed me off cause I saved up to get the VERY best I could afford and then find out 1080i is the limit on this baby. Still a killer picture tho.
