- I picked up this TV from Circuit City just before Labor Day. It is basically the same spec-wise as the 650 series. The only differences are 1 less HDMI port (3 instead of 4), a contrast ration of 40,000:1 rather than 50,000:1 and no infolink. For those who don't know, Infolink allows you to hook up the internet to the back of your tv via an ethernet jack. You are then able to pull up news, weather, and stock info from USA Today. This is all it lets you do though. Infolink does not allow you to download firmware, view web pages or anything like that. This is a great TV. 120Hz is amazing. It almost make it seem like the characters are right there in the room with you when you are watching blu-ray movies. The quality picture is great, the menu system looks nice and is easy to use, and for those who like lots of control over picture settings, to get their picture just right, this tv has a ton of different adjustable setting options, allowing you to adjust the backlight level, the black level, 120Hz processing level, gamma, white space, color space, color, contrast, brighness, sharpness, defeatable edge enhancement, and more
- Wow. This is a beautiful set - image quality is stellar - off-air and dvd source, 480, 720, 1080 all great. D-TV signals are amazing. Even stronger analog (i.e. old style NTSC) off-air signals look great. Audio clear and accurate. I've had it about a week and first impressions are really strong. Matte finish really helps if placement is near windows. This is a technological marvel. Menu's are clear, features are great, beautiful looking - I have to say touch of color is realllllly subtle, you can pretty much ignore this - it is classy without needing any extra gimmicks like this. Fast action/sports look great. Lots of tweaks to get a picture you will be happy with.
It is reasonably light weight, has swivel stand, viewing angle is excellent. It is like a jewel! Extremely well engineered. As of today, I think this set is at a price performance sweet spot. Samsung seems to really understands LCD video. If you are average person trying to find a good panel, you should be very happy with this one.

- Easy set-up and great picture for the price. 6ms refresh rate makes the picture blur at times, but happens very rarely. Owned it for one month with no problems.
- I read many reviews some positive and some negative, I went with the positive ones and my own experiences with other Sharp products. I have had a Sharp Aquos LD37D44U 37-Inch LCD HDTV for about a month and must say that I am very pleased with it so far.
The picture quality is very good and it has every connection that you may want on the back. I am using the HDMI connection from a HDTV Verizon FIOS Box.
I have no problems with any lines or dead pixels as some have written about. If you are looking to buy a solid TV and not over pay for a name, then consider buying one of the Sharp Aquos LCD TVs.

- Good basic no thrills lcd tv. Great for a small room, picture quality is what you should expect for the price. Sound is lacking in bass, but ok for the price, could be helped with computer speaker system for not much money. Overall happy with product.
- I ordered this TV for a kitchen and it is a great size for that. I was very disappointed in the non-high def picture quality and sent it back. The other disappointing feature was the poor sound quality. I guess I should have done more homework before ordering.
- I was looking for a small LCD screen that I could use for a smaller bedroom just for easy hookup for my Xbox 360, PS2, and other vintage consoles (Genesis,NES, etc.). The Sylvania 19" LCD was easy to setup and is a nice portable TV for anywhere in the house. Picture is clear and crisp, audio is average but I haven't tried external speakers yet. The remote buttons are sometimes hard to push, but overall a great deal for the price I paid.
- Nice enough TV. I was kind of disappointed because it was advertised with an HDMI input but had none. (This has since been corrected in ad). Speakers are weak and would need additionals if being used in a large room. Picture is clear and bright and it picks up the HD channels in my area just using rabbit ears.
- I received almost the same TV but in a larger screen size as a Christmas present, so when I needed to add a second TV for my bedroom I went with the same brand. Very nice picture, decent sound, reliable.

- The TV arrived quickly and I love it. Great picture and blu-ray and HD look even better. Couldn't be happier!
- This is my first HDTV (I am an electronics engineer so, it took very long for me to buy one that i like). But this tv blows me off. Great natural colors, no bright and deep colors as in other samsung and toshiba Tvs.
The Menu is simple but even then it gives wide range of adjustments. Don't be attracted by the video reviews of the other TVs given all over the internet about the different options you can change on your TV because you know what, not many people use all those menu items. This has got bunch of inputs to it and it also have a headphone jack. I added my Bose system to this TV and it really gives a great Movie Experience.
The edges can be a little too glossy, but if you are a person who likes to keep the things neat, you will love the gloss.
Very useful menu item as skipping the Inputs makes this more versatile.
16 ( 4 x 4 ) Customizable favourite channels make life a little more easy. I bought this TV for the olympics and the NBC gives a HighDefinition Feed using the regular cable(no HD receiver required to watch some of the channels like NBC, TNT, A&E ) and its absolutely stunning. I also get some digital channels that are great. The audio can be skipped between mono, stereo, surround where available.
This is a tv that can be rated more than 5.
Pros: Everything.. really amazing tv.
I cannot believe you are still reading the review instead of going to the store and buying one. But for those who " have to read " here are the
cons: The Remote has to be really pointed to the receiver which can be a pain somtimes and also the channels skip a little slow, but that doesn't bother me.
note: avoid plasmas they give out toomuch glare.
If you are looking for a tv at this size, it really doesn't make a lot of difference between 720p and 1080p/i. it only matters when you go for a more bigger tvs.
And as an electronics engineer , i can safely say, that Sharp carrys one of the greater tv screens if not BEST.
Hope this review helps.
Please email me with questions. more than happy to reply.
- This is a very nice TV. I have had this tv since about 7/30/08.
Pro's: The TV has a very good tuner, I was able to hook it to my basic cable with Comast and was able to get about 16 HD channels and 10 or more digital channnels. I haven't tried over the air tuner. HD channels look great, Standard Def channels look good. I have this set up in the bedroom and it works great for this purpose. 720p is all you need in this size of TV. The Favorite channels you can set up are great, on the remote you have favorites a to c and you can set 4 channels under each letter.
Con: Remote has to be pointed directly at the TV but not too bad
Other thoughts: I still haven't hooded this to my Direct TV receiver yet, so I can't comment on how the digital picture looks like from it! Nor have I gamed on it yet. TV does have a game setting and game timer!
If you are in the market for a 32' LCD and want a quality brand name for a good price with plenty of options this is the one for you!
- Could not find this model locally. Ordered from Amazon and had it in less than a week. Very happy with the transaction-would buy it again.
- I have only used this TV attached to a HD Sat. Great picture right out of the box, I have not changed settings at all.
The sound is adequate for a small room or a quiet environment but I intend to use the optical output to hook it up to my 5.1 sound system. (nice feature!)
It's amazing how light this TV is. Under 30 Pounds? The 27" glass TV this replaced weighs about 70.

- The picture is beautiful, but the fumes from the set are noxious.
The odor gets overpowering and nauseating after the TV is on for a short while. We turn the set off and air out the living room. I am trying to research whether the fumes are a health hazard or not, but it certainly does impair our enjoyment of this two-month old set.
We can also feel the heat radiating off the 65"screen.
We have a 42" Sharp LCD Aguos set also with no odor or heat problem. We bought the 65" model based on our good experience with the smaller set.
I intend to contact Sharp and hear what they have to say about it.
This model's volume control function doesn't work until after the set is on for a minute. After that it works fine.
Considering the price of this set, these problems should not exist. Be forewarned.
- We purchased the Sharp Aquos LC65D64U in early February, and have found the picture and everything else about this HDTV nothing short of amazing. We shopped extensively and looked at many other large screen flat panels, and nothing compares to this for the money. (Actually, I don't know how anyone could want a more beautiful picture at any price.)
We used our existing high-end surround sound speaker system (originally purchased several years ago for use with a Sony 60-inch rear projection TV, which was great in its day), but upgraded our old surround sound receiver to a new Yamaha RXV863 receiver to complement the newer digital technology. We have the Sharp mounted on the wall, and use a Playstation 3 for Blu-ray movies and a Cox HDTV cable box with DVR for HDTV reception, recording, and playback. We also have a Wii player connected, and its images also look great with this HDTV.
This Sharp HDTV was delivered via Amazon's standard truck carrier, and arrived on time in perfect condition.
This is one great HDTV. We highly recommend it!
- We have a large room with lots of windows so had to go LCD over plasma. I have not complaints over this tv. Picture is amazing, even wathching Hi Def sports channels. The price goes up and down, but keep watching it and go for the 65 over the 50's any day.
- This set worked great out of the box. I am very pleased with picture and sound, as well as the price available on line. I used the Sanus wall mount kit recommended for the LC65D64U. It fits very close to the wall, looks good. Be warned that the bolts furnished by Sanus do not fit the set (Use metric M10-mm30) also had to file the slots in the mount bracket slightly wider to allow for the bolts to fit. I know there are some feature on much more expensive models that might sound neat but for a basic set with a great picture I could not see a cost benefit with another more expensive set.

- Everything we needed for a tv in our bedroom. Excellent picture quality, easy to set up and fast shipping. 5 Stars.
- I am really disappointed with this TV. I have only had this tv for about 4 months and I have picture problems all the time. The problems I have had so far are: no picture at all (just sound), the picture jumping on the screen, the sound going funky, and also just a static over the top of the picture. The only way to fix any of these problems is to turn it off and unplug all the cables and replug them in. I don't know why unplugging the cables works but it does every time. It will usually last a week or two before the next mess up but who wants to keep unplugging cables all the time? Very annoying. I wish I could return it but I guess that window is closed.
- This TV is great! It gets a crystal clear image and is really the perfect size for the bedroom. The only minor downside is that it is a little slow (to turn on, turn off, change inputs) but I really wouldn't consider that a deterrence from buying this. Great price, great TV.
- This television took very little time to get it set up and viewable. The tv arrived, was unboxed and within 15 minutes was being used. We used this tv as a stand alone but it is made to be able to put on the wall. Everything fit well and all parts and pieces were accounted for. The flat screen makes it much easier to watch because there is not the distortion of the picture of the other types of tvs. It is HD capable but at this time we are not using this function. If we were to need another television in the house, we would not hesitate to buy another.
- I picked this TV up at a local Circuit City Outlet for a STEAL, and I mean a STEAL!
This TV has great picture quality and great component connections.
Granted it is not 1080P, but as a secondary office TV it is GREAT!
This TV easily compares to the TV's that are priced at 650 to 800 dollars (Sony, Samsung, etc.).
Instructions are easy to use, and setup is a snap. The only con of this TV is the warm up time during the initial power on.
Toshiba offers a 1 year warranty on Products and Labor. Extended warranties are typically offered through resellers, but it may or may not be required depending on the user, etc.
Pros: Easy to read manual, many component connections, great picture quality, good sound.
Cons: TV takes a while to warm up when initial turn on.

5 comments about Panasonic Viera TH-58PZ800U 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.
- i ordered from buynow.com and paid $2,961 w/free shipping and no tax. i ordered on 8/29 and the TV arrived in one week, which was well inside the promised delivery window. it is a nice TV with excellent picture and good sound. Set up was easy, but i have not yet hooked it to a home theater system. I had been watching panasonic plasma prices for a long time and was surprised to see them discount the 08 so quickly. i agree with the other reviewer that prices are fluctuating a lot for this item, so watch day-to-day. The delivery company contacted me in advance and arranged a 6 hour window which they held to. However, they only had a driver, so my wife had to help him haul in the TV. i would have at least one man (preferably two) at home to take delivery. I am very happy with my purchase.
- When I first saw this unit on Amazon, it was $3499. After talking to my wife, I placed an order the next day and was surprised to find the price to be $2999. Two days after my order, the price went to $3699 and was no longer being shipped from Vann's. Mine was shipped from Vann's and arrived in perfect condition 4 days later.
Anyway, the TV is wonderful. I can't imagine getting a better picture from a TV. The colors are significantly richer and deeper than our other TV, a Samsung 42" LCD that's in our bedroom. The display and degree of color on the LCD, although vibrant, sometimes appear to be sightly unnatural and there doesn't seem to be a way (that I have found) to adjust it out.
The Panasonic color is very natural and there are several user friendly adjustments that make it easy to enhance picture clarity, hue and color.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the set-up was straight forward and actually simple. There are on screen prompts that take the user through the process to completion. The remote is uncluttered and easy to use with larger than usual buttons. Aesthetically, the set and the stand are very attractive.
I highly recommend plasma over LCD and the 2008 Panasonic Viera series over the competition we explored. (Vizio, Samsung, Sharp and 2007 Panasonic).
- Two months ago I bought a 52" LCD TV (not Panasonic) for my family room, so my grand kids could watch TV and play Xbox & Playstation 3 games. The TV was bought directly from Amazon and the shipping was free. When it got to my house over three weeks later, two men deliverd the TV and put it in my family room. They took it out of the box and set it up and pluged it in to make sure everything worked. (It did) They said the white glove service was on all TV's from Amazon. On 08/29/2008 I went to Amazon's web sight and bought my TH-58PZ800U ($2961.99) for my living room and the shipping was free too. My 58" Panasonic TV was actually bought from a partner company through Amazon, called Buy Now Inc., which still honored the free shipping. When the TV was delivered 09/11/2008 (in very good condition), it was only delivered by one man and it was a side walk delivery only. He saw I was disabled and was nice enough to bring it in through my front door and left it in my living room. I unpacked it and set it up two days later. The TV (140 lbs) comes with a stand and it's very easy to set up but you will need at least two healthy people and three is even better. I called Amazon and asked why the difference in my type of delivery? They said, All TV items bought directly from Amazon get the white glove type delivery treatment and from partner companies in most cases it will be a side walk delivery only. Both times the trucking company called a day or two ahead, to set up the delivery I strongly recommed you ask what type of delivery you're getting. I hope this helps?
Now about the TH-58PZ800U Panasonic Plasma TV which I researched for over a month before I bought it. I read all the personal and profesional reviews I could find. I was very lucky to have a major National Electronics store in my area that had a large selection of most of the major brands that made Plasma TV's. I want to be very honest in this review. Three or four other brands of Plasma TV's have come a long way and they looked great. I tried to compare apples to apples by comparing only Plasma TV's because that's what I wanted for my living room. It was very hard to see a major difference in picture and color in alot of todays Plasma TV's on display. I narrowed it down to two or three Plasma TV's in the 58" to 60" range. What made the decision for me was: My 58" Panasonic had a very good picture, colors were excellent, the non glare screen, all the HDMI (4) and other inputs, Panasonics Reputation, Quality and Repair history. I already own a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV that is 5 years old and it still has a great picture. Last but not least, the sound from the TV speakers is great if you don't have a home sound system, which I do, so I checked it out and then I hooked it up to my ow home sound system. The remote control is easy to use and the menu, doing the TV set up, is very easy and quick to do. Right now I have no negatives because I've only had the TV for 5 days and used it for 3 days. I hope this review has helped in some ways.
- I recently purchased the panasonic th58pz800u from amazon for $3019, which I feel is very reasonable (The price has indeed fluctuated between $2899 and $3799 on amazon during the time I was shopping for it). Once ordered, the television was delivered in 3 business days (I'm in CA). Although the amazon website said it would be delivered "white glove", the delivery persons did not have that information. However, when we let them know that's what we were expecting, they willingly obliged by unpacking the t.v., placing it on it's stand, turned it on and left with all the packing materials. Pretty nice! Before purchasing this t.v. which I waited for a while before it was even available, I was considering the Pioneer pdp6020fd, which in my mind is the only other comparable plasma set, image quality and features wise. I opted for a plasma because I felt that it had the superior picture (contrast, colors, sharpness) over all the nicer lcd screens available (120hz sony xbr, samsung, toshiba) particularly when viewing lots of full-range motion (sports and movies), the panasonic and pioneer plasmas handled the edging the most smoothly. I found the Panasonic set to be very close in image quality with the pioneer but for $1000-$1500 less. I didn't care for the samsung sets because they generated so much heat. The panasonic and pioneer sets both don't noticeably change the temperature of a room.
I setup my panasonic with all my sources being piped through my Denon avr2808ci, which upconverts all sources through it's hdmi out. I have a hd cable box (connected via hdmi), a dvd player (connected via component) and a sony ps3 (connected via hdmi) hooked-up through the denon. The 1080i from the hd cable box looks amazing! The 1080p from the ps3 bluray is flawless and the 480p upconverted from dvd looks surprisingly great as well. In each case, the colors are vibrant and the blacks are so black that the blacks in an image are consistent with the black of the screen when it is turned-off. All in all, I am extremely pleased with my purchase of the panasonic and find it to be the finest television I have owned (The t.v. I replaced was a hd-capable 57" sony xbr rear projection whose blacks were actually dark gray...I bought this t.v. for $1500 more than the panasonic set 7 years ago).
In my particular setup, I had to make sure that all my hdmi cables were hdmi v1.3 cables otherwise the denon throughput no signal to the television. Monoprice.com had excellent hdmi v1.3 cables for about $13 each. I was able to get a great bdi stand for it from dynamichomedecor.com which I also found to be an excellent resource.
I highly recommend the purchase from amazon.com primarily because of the included "white glove" delivery, just make sure at the time of purchase that it is stated. I know that vanns.com and other reputable places may have slightly lower prices, but for me the "white glove" delivery really made the whole process much easier and sweeter.
- Look at the picture & forget about the price, other reviews mentioned how much this TV cost, I will not. Why? Because, when your focus is to get the best TV out there the price should comes second. To me, this is the one. I watch this TV from about 13 feet away and have a direct TV DVR receiver connected by monster 1000 HDMI cable. Wow!
Here is a double Wow! Get the Panasonic Blue-ray Disc player DMP-BD30 will do and connect it to this TV set by HDMI connection, get the "planet earth" Blue-ray CD and you will experience audio/video Shock & Awe.
I am not bias to Panasonic, in fact the only Panasonic I ever purchased in my life was a panasonic wireless telephone, 6 years old and still going... So I figured the TV would be as durable, so far so good.
Hey, if price is the issue, an average person will keep a good TV set 5 to 7 years. Now divide the cost by the amount of years you think you will keep this TV. Got it?
Au revoir mes amis, I am going to watch TV

4 comments about ViewSonic N1630w 16-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
- Got the N1630w 15-inch TV for the kitchen counter, but will need to find another use for it because the speakers are totally tinny, even with full bass and treble added, or different sound preferences selected (I think Viewsonic expects you to add external speakers to this unit so the sound is as good as the picture). Unit also sits very low to the countertop, and doesn't have a swivel feature to allow it to be tilted upwards. The viewing angle is critical .. like viewing a projection TV .. you must look straight into this screen or the picture washes out. We propped a dish towel under the front of the stand in order to have the screen looking up at us ... why no swivel, Viewsonic? It won't be good for computers for the same reason it doesn't swivel up-or-down. Analog TV performance is also quite poor, but then we all need to get away from analog anyway. Buy a 19-inch or larger as you can fit into your needs .. this TV is small in size, and performance.
- I bought this TV after reading about the poor sound on the small Sharp. I should have waited for a review here. The sound is annoying (I found the music setting to be the least annoying for listening to voice). The picture must be viewed at eye level, as also noted in the first review. On a positive note it has all the inputs and outputs you would need.
- We have small televisions in our office. We have about 15 Sharp Aquos tv's that we are very happy with, but Sharp stopped making the smaller screens. There are really not that many options for small screen tv's. I read the reviews on the Viewsonic and at first was hesitant, but decided to try one. The picture is very good and since we watch them sitting at a desk, there is no problem with the viewing angle. The sound is not very good, but acceptable for our purpose. I would not recommend this tv for home use unless in low volume situations or use with external speakers as the other reviewer mentioned.
- I am looking for a small HDTV so I can use it as a secondary monitor - this one suit my purpose considering I only paid $199 for it.
PLUS
- Very good HDTV picture quality - I connect it to my cable and the tuner is smart enough to pickup all ANALOG and UNSCRAMBLED HD channels automatically. Overall HD picture quality is good.
- It has one VGA, one HDMI, one component video, one S-Video and one composite video input - pretty good for a cheap TV.
- NO NEED FOR AC ADAPTER!! The power supply is built-into the TV cabinet.
- Sleep Timer
MINUS
- Not very bright at all
- Limited vertical viewing angle
- Limted tilt; does not swivel from side to side
- Anemic sounding speakers / slightly better after I adjust bass/treble
- Mediocre picture quality as a PC monitor
Overall, for $199 don't expect it to perform like a Sharp or a SONY but I give it 4 star based on its sheer value and it's HDTV picture quality. It's a nice addition as a second monitor because you can also use it as a HDTV.

5 comments about Sony Bravia S-Series KDL-46S4100 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- I purchased the Sony XBR4 52" for my living room as this TV was the one that stood out on the wall of 40 tv's at every electronics store I visited. I then wanted a nice TV for my bedroom but didn't want to spend the $$ as I don't watch TV in the bedroom as often as the living room.
After looking at 46" TV's, again I found Sony to be the one to buy.
This time the Sony KDL-46S4100. It has all of the features I was looking for. I was concerned that the contrast ratio was much lower than the XBR4, however if there is a difference, it's slight. Shows broadcast in full HD like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno look outstanding.
You won't be dissapointed.
Side Note: The first TV ordered via Amazon arrived on time via CEVA (Amazon's main shipper of televisions). I didn't open the box for a week as I was waiting for my cable to be hooked up in the bedroom. After opening the box, a large crack on the screen was clearly visible. I emailed Amazon, they sent another TV at no charge and CEVA picked up the first TV. I opened up the box of the 2nd TV and hooked it up while the delivery men were still in house. Everything was fine on the 2nd TV.
- I recently received my Sony Bravia Flat Screen TV. It was well packaged and protected. It worked right out of the box with very little problem in setup.
The picture quality is excellent, even when viewing non HD broadcasts. I would suggest that you invest in good HD conecting cables and if you do not have a HD coax cable connecting from you cable input to the TV, change it. You will see the difference.
- I got the 46" S4100 TV a couple of days ago. Everything looks great except one thing: it takes about 18 sec every time to power on the TV (I looked at the clock and measured the power on time, it's consistently LONG). Not sure what happened to SONY.
- It suprises me that Sony come up with a 46", 1080P at less than $1600 retail. I own a 42" Panasonic Plasma and need to get another TV for the basement, and admittedly I want one bigger than 42" too since I sit almost 12 ft away from the TV. Been looking for a LCD this time because of lower energy usage and reflection problem in my living room.
So I bought this one, which is the entry level S series Sony. I was very impressed with its vivid color and excellent image, especially at 1080i or 1080P resolution. I got over the air signal and the digital tuner in this TV works great. However, right out of the box, you do need to spend some time to adjust the setting (color, temp, sharpness etc...) to get the optimal image. I spent almost a week to set it up to my satisfaction, and may be it is just me, the picture does get better and better over the time.
No clouding effect, no other working issue like the earlier Sony S2000 series or even the XBR2 series. To the extent, I like both the plasma and LCD, they are both good, it is just a matter of personal preference. Like what the Consumer Report says, if you have a 42" TV, it won't matter much whether it is true 1080P or not as it is hard to notice on that screen size. With 46", you will really enjoy it only if you sit far enough or else the picture is grainny.
Several things that I think Sony can get better for the KDL46S4100:
1) The start up time is a bit slow, it takes awhile for the picture to come after you turn the TV on.
2) For side viewing, it is a bit discouraging, the picture appear to be less lively and less colorful.
3) More inputs option will be nice, at the back there is only 1 set of component/S Video/RCA input, means you can only use 1 non-HDMI input only and the rest has to be HDMI. There is additional set on the side for hook up to game/camcorder.
4) a card reader/USB port will be nice to plug in and watch picture, Panasonic has this even at their $800 plasma TV.
Overall I have pleasant experience with it, like always, Sony makes great product! It looks great even without the 120Hz motion flow.
By the way, the Sony is sitting in my living room now!
- The TV arrived as promised. The TV itself is outstanding - awesome picture quality, sounds is great, 180 degree viewing angle, more than enough connection ports and most of all, easy to use remote. I highly recommend this HDTV to everyone!

- My mom needed a replacement TV for her kitchen, had to fit in a fairly small space, so this is the biggest that would fit. The most important thing was that it include a tuner, so it can take a straight cable feed with no box. Also that it do a good job with plain old standard definition, which is what is watched 99% of the time.
This TV is excellent! SD picture is fantastic! HD looks good (I've never seen an HD picture that looks really bad, have you?). Only complaint, slight "glow" around the edges when a black screen is displayed. Mom doesn't notice and does not care, for her its perfect.
Tuner did a good job of finding all cable signals (including the strange 80.1, 80.2, etc channels). But it was also smart enough to go back and DELETE all the ones that are scrambled. So even though the setup takes a while, when you are done, its all set, and you don't have to manually delete scrambled channels, very clever.
Remote control is basic and functional. Nothing fancy, and nothing fancy needed.
Manual is mediocre. In many cases it explains that you have a choice for a setting, but really does not explain what the heck the choices mean! (Do YOU know the difference between IRC, HRC and STD cable signals? Me either). But basically just let it set everything up automagically, and its fine.
Audio is fine as well.
I am very happy with this TV.
- I purchased this product from Amazon in July. Out of the box it was broken. The tv did not get any audio on certain channels. One channel had the video of one picture and the audio from another. I sent it back and got a replacement. BIG MISTAKE. The second one arrived. It worked great for about a month. Then BAM - same problem. On some channels, no audio, mixed audio/video on the same channel as before. Plus, on some channels the audio levels rise and lower for no apparent reason -- so one minute it's fine and then the next thing you know the tv is so loud it makes you jump.
Amazon is not standing by this and will only offer me a partial refund since I called 3 days after their return policy ran out. I now have had to call Samsung and will have to bring it to a service center for repair. Be careful buying tv's from Amazon since they do not stand by the quality of the merchandise they sell. THIS TV IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.
- We were looking for a small 19 to 22 inch LCD for the bedroom. The Samsung had good reviews both here and at CR. Yes, the picture is great. BUT the sound isn't up to par even for a small TV. The stand is a pain to adjust. You are to put the TV face down on something, press against the back, push a button, and swivel the stand into place. (Bizarre.) Then there's the sticker. Who would put a gooey sticker on the frame of a TV? Well, Samsung seems to think it's a great idea. Peel the sticker off and you're left with a sticky residue on the plastic frame. You'll need Oops to remove it, I'm told. (Bizarre, again.) And then there's the tiny little buttons on the front-facing right frame. Accidentally touch the side of the TV to adjust the position and you will likely hit a button and get a menu appearing on the screen.
- Great TV for the price. Quick delivery even when I chose free super saving shipping.
- I bought this for my work shop so I could get news and watch sports. It has been perfect for my use. The picture is very sharp & clear, takes up very little space and the sound is good for my application. Don't think I could have made a better choice!
