- I just bought this TV yesterday and it was pretty easy to setup personally. The sound quality with the speaker is very good. Other LCD TVs I have heard sound like those cheap speakers that are attached to CRT computer monitors.
I was trying to decide between this one and a Sony and I went with this one because of the price (about $300-$400) cheaper and the Sony Bravia only had a 1300:1 contrast ratio. Doesn't really resonate with me to pay an extra couple hundred bucks. The picture is excellent on HD channels. Sports look great so I can't wait to watch the Super Bowl on this.
I did my research for almost 3 months before buying a TV and narrowed it down to a few this month. My technique was going into Best Buy, Circuit City and ABC Warehouse and looking at all the models and then order from Amazon. It's a 1 in 10 chance that the store will be cheaper than Amazon. But you can actually see the TV live and in person to really get a feel for the video quality it produces.
One downside to the TV I can see right now is the refresh rate. I believe it's 8ms. We were watching Smoking Aces on HBO HD and during a few of the high-paced action scenes, there was some noticeable pixelation during those scenes. But the TV recovers nicely once the action slowed down slightly so it's good at handling moderate screen action.
Another is that standard definition channels don't look good. There is a good amount of pixelation and a very noticeable difference from HD to SD.
If you can't spend a lot of money on a TV but want something big and with great video quality, definitely take a look at this one. The HD quality is up there with the big boys and extremely better than the no name brands like Vizio, Olevia and Insignia. They are bargain LCDs for a reason.
- This baby is now on sale at Target for $648! Plus if you sign up for a Target RedCard it's an extra 10% off for a total of 583!! So far, it looks great. I cannot wait to see the HD channels once I get the box hooked up.
- I too just got it from Target. I've had it about 3 weeks and everything is great. Good picture, good sound. Couldn't be happier.
- I bought this tv from Target never having owned a HDTV before. I did a little research and compared this model to others of the same size. My old television was a Magnavox and it lasted forever. In fact, the only reason I bought a new tv was because I wanted something larger. I gave the old one to a friend.
This set needs few adjustments out of the box. Most of the factory settings should work just fine for the picture and color. Others complain about the buzzing that the set makes. While I've heard this before, I had to stand right above the set and mute it to hear what everybody was talking about. It's hardly noticeable.Others complain about the quality of the sound that comes out of the factory speakers. If you change the sound settings to virtual surround sound in the TV setup, you'll be fine. I noticed a huge difference.
The remote is kind of small. It would have been nice if a universal remote would have been included with the set. The number of inputs is more than sufficient (2 HDMI, 2RGB, PC, 2RCA, and some other thing for a S cable that I don't use. I would recommend this set to anyone looking to buy an HDTV. Be prepared to buy RGB cables if you don't already have them. They make a big difference in picture quality.
- i bought this tv from wal-mart for $750 with an extended warranty...it worked fine for about 3 months, then just last night the speakers started crackling....this morning i turned it on and there was no sound....the speakers just stopped working altogether....took it back to wal-mart and, of course, there are no more in stock...i just had to settle for a refund...now i guess im going to save up and try to upgrade...it was a great tv while it lasted....i guess you do get what you pay for....im bummed.

- Although when the box arrived it looked like the enclosed TV would be in pieces, it was unharmed. Setup was a snap. Others have commented that the menus are very slow, but I didn't find this to the the case. I connected Comcast expanded basic cable and was able to auto-detect all the analog and unencrypted digital channels. Removal of the foreign-language, home shopping, and unused digital channels from the line up went well, except that there are so many channels it took some time.
I have also connected a GameCube using the component video cable, a Wii again using the component video cable, an Oppo DVD player using HDMI, and an Apple notebook via DVI. All have worked flawlessly. The only negative is that there is NO 1080p content out there right now to judge the true brilliance of this TV. 720p looks fabulous.
- This is a great TV. The picture clarity while watching hockey and football is remarkable. There is a slight fan noise, associated with this type of TV, that I didn't have with my old CRT TV. This TV has plenty of connections including HDMI and DVI. I had to use the DVI(computer) connection between my cable box and the TV because Comcast doesn't have an HDMI output unless you rent the cable box that has a built in recorder. If you already have a DVD recorder you may not want to pay $5 a month more to rent one from Comcast. Comcast will give you a DVI to HDMI converter cable that will not work with this TV. The customer service at Sharp in clearing up this connectivity problem was great. One phone call. This was after two trips to the Comcast office and four phone calls to Comcast customer service.
I am glad I bought this TV.
- The TV was delivered just when promised. It was a great price and I checked extensively before ordering. I am very pleased with the process.
- I am very satisfied with the Sharp Aquos I purchased from LCD Mart through Amazon. I received the product on time and in great condition. I received a follow up call to see if everything was in order.
- Have had this TV for over a year now and I still ooh and aah while watching football, or anything for that matter. We have a very open living room with tons of sunlight coming in and you can still see the picture perfectly. Recently tried hooking up my PC to the back which was really neat - it functions just like a world-class computer monitor - wish I could afford one for the office. Fantastic product.

- I bought this TV just over a year ago because out of about 40 televisions on display, this one had absolutely the best picture quality of anything in the store. For picture clarity, color and display, I give this TV 5 stars. However, after only about 9 months, we started having minor problems, such as, when the TV was turned off, the picture went off first and then the sound about 15 seconds later. We didn't think much of it until the TV was about 11 months old and one morning it was "stuck". You could watch the TV, and even change channels with the Satellite dish, but the remote didn't work and the volume couldn't be adjusted nor could you change the mode (ie. to put it into video mode to watch movies). We brought it to a TV repair shop and they said that the "brain" was not working. The part was still under warranty, but the repair shop was very reluctant to work on the ILO because they said that ILO is VERY slow at reimbursing for parts under warranty. I spent about $85 on the repair (labor only - not too bad). Another minor drawback is that you cannot synchronize this TV with your cable/satellite remote (so that you can just use one remote) because ILO is too new and it is not recognized by the sattelite company's remote (DirecTV). Anyhow, it is not surprising that, in a time where cell phones and other electronic devices only last a year or two, that this is a pretty common problem. All in all, this is a great tv if you are fortunate enough to get one that lasts.
- I gave this the lowest rating possible, you just have to do an internet search and see why. This was given to me as a Christmas gift in 2007, bought from Walmart ($700), less than 6 months, I noticed distortion of the picture in upper left hand corner. So, I went on the web looking for causes/problems. Did I ever get a wake up. Warranty not covering, I thought I will make the best of it, my problem was minor compared to others. Well today, turned tv on, heck of a racket after a few minutes, picture is all distorted and tv shuts off. Completely waste of money, Amazon take note of this!!!

- Our old (2000) Sony had a bad picture tube so we looked for a replacement. We found the ProView which has the same specs as some of the high priced HD LCDs and opted to save money and buy this TV. It has been an excellent purchase. The digital channels are sharp and clear and even the regular channels are better than we had with the Sony.
We particularly like the remote for the set. It is nicely designed, the weight is perfectly balanced, not difficult to learn to use and has a variety of settings so you can use it with cable TV or a dish.
This brand was unknown to us, but we wouldn't hesitate to buy another ProView it has exceeded our expectations.
- I work in a electronics depaptment in a major retail store an let me tell you this little guy blindsided me. When I first saw this product I dismissed it much like everyone does because of its name. After seeing what it can do I was really suprised. First off this the overall design of the set is great. A deep black reflective surface gives it a very beautiful look. The buttons on the front aren't buttons at all, they're actually touch pads. The sheer amount of inputs on this thing is insane. It has 2 composite, 2 component, 2 HDMI (VERY IMPORTANT!), 1 S Video, and a SVGA input. It also has digital and optical sound outputs. The picture amazing. It transmits up to 1080i. I have a HD DVD player hooked up to this thing and it blows everyone away when they first see it. This set is not made by some no name company. It's actually made by Xerox. The contrast ratio is incorrect on this page. The contrast ratio is actually 1200:1. Anyone who is worried about buying one of these sets don't be. I swear up and down by it and try to sell as many as I can to my customers.
