- I'd have said I loved it. Excellent sound (without additional speakers); awesome color and sharpness with DVD and HD cable. Lots of little "extras" like variable sleep timer (up to 2 hours), timer settings (I've been known to use this as an alarm clock), dimmer options, ambient room lighting automatic adjustment option, many device inputs, and more.
HOWEVER. There's always a "however," isn't there? Mine is just 5 days old. I thought it was by far the best TV for the price (and I got mine very inexpensively indeed, thanks to my extended warranty on my old television). Then, today, it went white. The entire screen (even the black "bars" set around a 4:3 picture - I don't like to distort the image, so I leave bars) is a purplish-whitish-grey and it doesn't matter which input setting I use. Other televisions hooked up to the same inputs are fine - I checked. I wasted hours trying to get Customer Service or Technical Support at Sony. Finally, I contacted my vendor for a replacement, which they agreed to provide.
If it had lasted years, I'd have said nothing. If I had done something to the television, like dropped it, spilled something on it, or pushed some bizarre button sequence on the remote, it would have been my own fault. But I just got this thing five days ago, and the screen went white in the middle of my viewing a DVD. FIVE DAYS? That's a new low. And NO customer support from Sony - which just added insult to injury.
Since I have no way of knowing what actually went wrong with the screen, or how likely it is that I'll have this problem with the replacement, I will give this two stars (instead of one). But be careful if you choose to buy this item - and make sure you get a warranty!

- OK product. Less sharp than expected but when full digital arrives maybe it'll be even better. Easy installation. Good delivery
- I bought my first Samsung tube 720p HDTV back in 2005 for $650 brand new. It was a 27" piece of gold and I couldn't believe how sweet the 360 looked on it. Fast forward 3 years later to flat panel LCD TVs and I'll tell ya...Samsung has not lost their talent when it comes to making HDTVs. I have my Wii and 360 hooked up to it and the 360 looks amazing. The glossy black finish is so nice. The tv really sticks out. The only thing I don't like about the TV is that it only has 3 preset color modes and I know on other models there is a game preset mode that is pretty sweet. I can fine tune the colors myself though, if I need to. Other than that I have no complaints about this fine product.
Oh, I didn't mention how good the Wii looks because...well, it's a Wii and only plays at 480p max. Metroid Prime 3 looks no more than decent on 480p. But connect a PS3 or Xbox 360 to the HDMI port(s) and you'll be in heaven.
I definitely recommend this TV to any gamer who is on a budget. I was looking at the 32 inch of this model but I was like $80 short and didn't feel like driving 45 minutes back to my house to get more money, lol. This TV is WELL worth it. 5 stars for Samsung.
- Samsung has always been great electronic products and it's mostly all I buy. This TV is great and really love it.
Thank you!
- First let me say that I bought this tv for my bedroom. We had a cheaper LCD tv (Emerson) in our room, but it broke after 1 year and can not be repaired! So we have been searching for a few days and it was a toss between Samsung and Sony. We went with Samsung because the picture looked better. I am very pleased that we did. I love all the features and the picture quality. HD is awsome. Glad I spent the extra money for a "name brand" model.
- I love it! I went from a semi-antique to this and what a difference! I don't have it hooked up to an HD feed (Dish wants an arm and a leg for that) but it's enough better that I don't feel I need it. Picture quality is excellent! I hooked the sound up to my boom box and it will blow you out of the room. Not that I need it that loud (yet) but it's nice to have it so I can turn it up to hear it everywhere in the house.

5 comments about Toshiba 19LV506 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with Built In DVD Player White.
- Have been looking to upgrade a kitchen set and add the DVD player all in one shot. Reviewed and looked at a number of sets from all the usual suspects. This one got the selection due to price, features, name and quality (have 32" "tube" TV and DVD player that are Toshiba as well as past laptops). Ordered on a Wednesday received on Friday (Supersaver is superfast!). We have enjoyed it so much we end up watching more TV in the kitchen then ever. DVD player is great and the whole setup was so easy. Our basic cable included 15 HD channels that the tuner picked up immediately and we were watching our first at home HDTV shows and concerts (love HDNet) right away. This will push me into a larger set in the living room a lot faster than I thought as the difference in picture quality is so much better that all I want to watch is stuff that comes in HD. Oh well X-mas is right around the corner. Picture quality, as you might guess is great, ease of operation has been no problem for this babby boomer. Just a great 19 inch combo that fills the bill on what you would want out of a 19 inch.
- Looks great, works great, installed with wall mount in the kitchen for 180 degree viewing. Meets all our expectations.
- Looks great. Has much better picture than comparable home brands of same size from Best Buy, etc. Replaces a bedroom 13" CRT w/VHS player. Brings in off-the-air analog and digital signals just fine. DVD picture quality is great, too. I've read other reviews which said sound quality was sub-par, but we think it's fine for our purposes. I'd recommend it to a friend.
- The picture quality on this TV is excellent. I am currently on analog with substandard cable and a splitter in the attic (older house) and it still shows a nice picture HOWEVER the sound quality is not good. It is very disappointing. It takes the points away from the very nice picture. I have to turn the sound all the way up (100%) sometimes just to hear it good. I've never had to turn the sound all the way up on any TV. I am sensitive to sound. I'm usually turning sound down on TV's. I even mute commercials because I don't want to hear the sound. The sound I do hear is "tinny". I've played with the bass and treble and balance on the menu but it's still not what I feel it should be. I have cheaper brand TV's where the sound is much better. I'm so disappointed because I have a 37" Toshiba LCD TV in the living room and the sound on that one is fine. Don't know what happened here. I've considered returning it but I already threw the box away. I should have waited.
- We replaced an older panasonic 15" w/dvd in our kitchen with this unit and it was a big step up. No more squinting at scores in the lower corner from the third bar stool. Image quality and color saturation are very good. Artifacts from quick movement in HD media is fairly well controlled. Cabling on the back was clean and simple if you use a 90 degree connector for the cable. The only feature that does not measure up to the rest of the features is the audio. It is not that it is too soft as some people have written. It is that the sound spectrum for some sources seems clipped. It is not significant and there are audio out jacks if this is important to you. The bottom line is that we would not hesitate to buy this unit. It is well made and works well.

5 comments about Sony Bravia S-Series KDL-46S4100 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- This was my first LCD TV purchase; I bought it after being quite impressed with the picture on the floor model at Best Buy, and nearly blown away by the clarity of the sound coming out of the speakers. (The latter was an important factor for me, because I don't want to invest in a home theater sound system just yet.) After three weeks, it hasn't disappointed at all. HD cable programming looks great, my Xbox 360 (via HDMI cable) looks and plays fantastically, and I'm somehow even getting a decent picture out of my old crappy DVD player. Standard definition cable programming is hit and miss; some channels look a lot better than others, for reasons I'm unsure of, although even the worse ones are certainly not bad enough to stop me from watching and enjoying them too. The sound is indeed amazing; I can turn down the volume to near-minimal levels and still hear everything that's happening on-screen (speech, music, and ambient noises).
I'll note that there are three HDMI inputs, not two as the "Product Details" section above seems to indicate.
Finally, I'll note that the two negative reviews below (as of the time of this posting) deal entirely with Amazon's delivery service; they say nothing substantive about the TV itself, which is a shame, because in my opinion this set is very high quality and (at its price) therefore a very good value.
- My fiance and I are very happy with tv. Its the nicest frame/bezel Sony has made to date. Plenty of options and connections for the average tv watcher, but not enough for a media guru. We got what we wanted. Of course the engine could be faster but you cant wait for the next tv to come out or you will miss out on enjoying today.
- After spending much time comparing wide screen televisions at numerous electronics stores, many hours of internet research, and soliciting opinions of friends, I finally chose the new Sony Bravia S Series 46" TV. I am extremely happy with my choice and the whole purchase experience. The TV picture quality is excellent and the savings in tax and shipping through Amazon was an added bonus. The 'white glove' freight company shipped within the hour they said they would be at my house, and then they delivered it safe and sound to my family room. Instructons were clear and setup was a breeze. We were enjoying the TV in surround sound mode in about thirty minutes. If you are on the fence about HD, LCD, brand, etc... as I definitely was, you can confidently take the plunge with this TV. SONY has finally gotten real with the S series price point without compromising picture quality one bit.
- Bought this TV after about 3 months of research. Watched all the TVs in Best Buy, Circuit City, Frys, etc., for hours. Could not get past the picture quality of this TV as compared to other models on the wall. And sound quality was by far the best among the TVs I looked at - important if you don't plan to use a home theater system. Stand and look at this TV in the store and compare it to the other TVs and you'll see what I mean. Picture quality seemed more natural and less grainy than other brands on the wall.
Before buying I breifly considered some 120 HZ models, including the Samsung 650 and the new Sony, all at around $500 more than this model. As for 120 Hz, I just couldn't tell a difference on broadcast HD/TV, and while the difference on movies was obvious, the effect seemed unnatural. Made films look more like live TV - interesting to watch, but just not a true movie experience in my opinion. I'm not knocking 120 Hz, just didn't feel like it was for me.
Connected this TV to a Sony progressive scan DVD using component connections and got incredible picture quality. I guess BlueRay via HDMI would be better, but honestly I can't imagine how. Still on analog cable at the moment with only a handful of digital HD channels available - all of which look fantastic. Converting to Verizon FIOS next week and looking forward to even better picture quality.
As for setup, I went from the box to watching TV in under 10 minutes. No alteration of the default picture settings was required in my opinion. I do recommend using the "standard" picture mode. "Vivid" is cool at first, but hard on the eyes after a while. And you will probably want to boost the bass a little on the audio. Standard definition channels, as viewed on any HD TV, will vary in quality. I found most standard def channels to look pretty good, and I think Sony does the best job overall of cleaning up the picture.
Remote is simple and easy to use, and I've found the on-screen menus to be reasonably intuitive. For me it had plenty of inputs: 3 HDMI, 2 component, 2 composite, and a PC. Also has a single audio out which can be used to connect to an A/V receiver or (I presume) a home theater system if you have one.
The only two cons I have found for this TV are: 1) after you power it on, it takes about 7-10 seconds before the picture comes on -- but my old Sony did this too so it wasn't a big deal to me. And 2) you can't scroll through channels quickly, you have to move one at a time. Not sure if this is unique to Sony or if all TVs do this. But if you're using a cable or satallite box, then this won't matter to you anyway.
Bottom line -- great picture quality, decent sound, affordable price, easy to setup and use, no complicated fine tuning required, and a brand name that won't embarrass you when your friends come over. Go see one in the store and then trust your eyes, you won't be disappointed.
- Sony Bravia S-Series KDL-46S4100: Arrived quickly from Kentucky (Amazon). The "White Glove" delivery service was performed fine, although had to remind delivery person to please take the packing material. TV performs flawlessly.
Amazon should better explain their no-interest use of Amazon card; which I took advantage of!

- I was interested in purchasing the S series 46 inch Sony Bravia, I finally located a store with a display so I could see it before I made my purchase. Thank God I did! This V series was next to the S series so I could do a side-by-side comparison. The V series had significantly better color depths and saturation and just all around better picture.
The store had an HD movie playing so I could see those differences, but the deciding factor came when the credits rolled up the screen. Every other HDTV on that wall, including Samsung, Sharp, and others had some 'choppiness' while the credits ran. This Sony 46 inch V series was the only one on that wall where the credits were completely smooth as they moved up the screen. That's not to say there aren't other televisions out there that have smooth scrolling, but most don't.
If you're considering buying the 46S4100, you should be sure to compare the picture to this 46V4100 in person before you do. It was definitely worth an extra few hundred bucks. And since I bought it on Amazon, even with shipping it was a few hundred bucks cheaper than I could have bought it at any electronics store.
It also has a lot of inputs, several in back and one of each type in the side for easy access. The sound is very decent for TV speakers. I hooked it up to my receiver to use the surround sound, as I'm sure most people will do. But if you have to use the TV speakers these really aren't bad.
The included TV guide is fine for the network TV, but it will only show a few channels. In my case, it showed the first couple cable channels that are mixed in between network channels so it doesn't even show CBS or FOX listings. Not a big deal since I use my Tivo and it shows the full programming listings.
Oh yeah, my Sony PS3 games look amazing on this TV. And Blu-ray movies are out of this world! Worth every penny!

5 comments about Toshiba 32AV500U 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
-
Last week our <4 yr old 32" Panasonic CRT set decided to stop working for some unknown reason. Though not exactly in our budget, we were forced to buy a new TV. It was time to upgrade to an LCD flat panel.
To make a long story shorter I was looking at the Sonys and the Samsungs when my wife spotted this Toshiba.
The good:
1) "By today's standards" the price was right. A lot of bang for the buck... so far.
2) It has multiple inputs for my older components as well as room to upgrade to newer ones, plus
3) The picture looked great.
4) It weighs less than 30lbs, a far cry from the CRT set it replaces. I can handle this one by myself.
5) Glare has been a problem in our home. This set has completely eliminated that.
6) Not a nice wood veneered cabinet, but the I have to admit that I like the piano black finish much more than I thought I would
The bad: (C'mon. You knew it was coming.)
1) I don't want to have to turn on the amplifier every time I watch the evening news, so I have to say that the built-in speakers leave a lot to be desired, even for TV built-ins.
2) I found the set-up to be challenging. It took me a few days to come up w/settings I could live with.
3) As one who remembers the "instant-on" TV craze it seems to take an unusually long time for the set to decide whether or not it will light. The Panasonic's (CRT) amplifier would come on almost immediately followed by the picture. When powering up this set, nothing at all happens for about 10 secs. It acts like an old tube set from the '60's. Is that normal for these?
That's about it, both the good and the bad as I see it so far. I only hope we can expect to get more than 4 yrs from this one.
- I've had this TV for about a month now. I watched the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup in HD a few weeks ago, and it was probably the sharpest sports broadcast I've ever seen. Colors look great and the blacks are pretty close. The built-in speakers are acceptable compared to some other off-brand 32" models, and are not too tinny or fake. The warm-up takes 5-7 seconds and the lag between channels is about a second. I have analog cable tv so this may vary with your results.
The only problem I've had with this is the VGA input from a computer. Depending on your use, this could be a big trade off. I have a Sony SZ laptop, one of the best ones they make. If I input the signal from the Sony, I can see a square develop in the upper-right corner of the tv that's about 7 inches wide and 4-5 inches high, which will disappear after a few seconds. This happens frequently if I play an AVI movie fullscreen, but if I burn that movie to a disc and play it on my Philips DVD player through the composite inputs, it looks fine with no squaring. It should be noted that I played 'Gears of War' (PC game) and it didn't exhibit this problem. I also see it if I scroll vertically through a webpage quickly, but only for a split second.
In summary, I'd give this Toshiba 3.5 stars overall, and round up to 4. I really don't watch much tv which will probably be its intended use among purchasers here. The VGA problem is extremely annoying, but I mostly use it for stock trading/reading articles on the internet. Also I plan on giving the tv away to a relative when I leave the US later next year, so no big loss. But if I had to do it over again, I'd probably pay a little more and get the 32" Samsung. I did a search and found two other people with this same problem, so I don't think it's an issue with my PC or its configuration. If I had an HDMI or S-Video output on my laptop (I don't), I could try those instead.
- got this as a gift 4 my daughter, she loves it,says it has a great picture
- I went to my local electronics store, planning to buy the Sharp LC32SB24U rather than this Toshiba. The sales person suggested, before buying, I do a side by side comparison view of the Toshiba 32AV500U and the Sharp LC32SB24U. The Toshiba was $40 more than the Sharp, and I figured it would be the typical upsell.
But comparing the image quality of the Sharp and Toshiba, the Toshiba won hands down. The Sharp definitely had a more "washed out" look, while the Toshiba picture was more vibrant with blacker blacks and greater contrast. I doublechecked that both sets were tuned to the same HD source, etc. Anyway this demo was enough to (up)sell me and I bought the Toshiba. It has been great.
This unit is for the bedroom and I don't regret getting the 32" instead of a 26".
I didn't know much about QAM tuners before buying, but what that means is that I can connect my Verizon FIOS cable directly into the TV (no converter box) and receive digital TV channels, some HD channels, and all the digital music channels, all without needing a converter box. Obviously with a converter box you get a better user interface (onscreen interactive program guide) and many more channels, but for the moment I am happy using the TV with direct cable connection (no converter box) and saving a few $ per month.
HD picture quality is so much better than regular digital TV -- if you go to the expense of buying an HDTV (like this one) you really need to hook it up to receive HDTV or you are missing a whole lot.
I am not a videophile or audiophile but have to say that I would recommend this Toshiba very highly to anyone looking to spend between $600 and $700 for a 32" HDTV.
- TV was nice for a year and a half. The video board burned out which in turn blew out the lcd screen. Was only used about 4 hrs a week. Repair shop said it would cost as much as a new TV to fix. The tech also said it's poor design by Toshiba making the video board and screen as one part. Be careful, it's cheaper than the higher quality for a reason. My Sony has been around for 7 years, no problems.
I had extended warranty and they refunded me the entire cost of the TV instead of bothering with fixing it. That was surprising, so it must be a known common problem with Toshiba.

5 comments about Samsung LNT4081F 40-inch 1080p LED LCD HDTV with LED Motion Plus.
- Fantastic puerchase. I consider it the best of the best, including the L.E.D.backlight system which us unique with Samsung.....
- Samsung's highest-end 81 series of LCD televisions are the very first to incorporate a backlight made of hundreds of LEDs instead of the usual fluorescent tubes. The many benefits are immediately visible in its amazing contrast and color quality that finally matches that of plasma screens. Many reviews all agreed this is the best LCD they've seen, and in my own purchasing research it is very easy to see its quality next to others in the store, and ultimately that is why I bought this over any other model.
By selectively varying the brightness of each backlighting LED, the TV is able to have a much larger range from black to white, achieving a contrast ratio never seen before by an LCD.
In addition, LEDs produce a purer white, and allow the screen to display a wider range of colors (color gamut) than any fluorescent-backlit LCD.
Finally, the LEDs can be flashed at a very high rate of speed to improve upon the 8ms response time of the LCD itself, matching or beating the motion of 120 Hz panels.
Meanwhile, the TV uses much less electricity as a plasma and even other LCDs, and should be immune to any burn-in and lifetime issues associated with plasmas.
The TV has everything else you would expect at this high end: A spectacular LCD panel with very little off-axis brightness change, Three sets of HDMI and analog inputs, and of course a beautiful deep black glossy bezel and stand.
If you're looking for where to start with color settings, start with Movie mode, Warm 1 color, and a gamma of -3.
- This TV is simply amazing. I pretty much never leave a review on an item I purchased even if I love it. But this has prompted me to do so. That LCD blur is pretty much no existant on this tv. This is the deepest black and the whitest white that I've ever seen. It's so black that it appears that the TV is off!! Outstanding colors. You will need an ultra-high speed cable to see where this TV blows others away. It is still amazing without Hi-Def signal and even using the regular A/V inputs. But why spend this kind of money if you can't fully utilize this TV's abilities.
- I have the TV for 2 weeks now. It is the best TV I have - great picture and easy to set up I also noticed that the MSRP of the TV is only $1999. It was $2999 about a month ago. If you can get it for less than $2000, you won't be sorry.
- Bought this TV from a regular retailer a week ago, and it is truly the best of the best. The colors are incredible, the detail is magnificent. If you have the budget for it, buy this one, no other compares. Colors are natural and crisp, details are sharp. Pair it with a new TivoHD and HD from your cable company and you'll never watch TV the same again. It offers lots of controls to fine tune the picture and sound to just the way you want, whether it's dynamic and contrasty, to warm and natural. This TV has it all! Thanks Samsung!!!

- Placed my order with Amazon. It showed a shipping date, but the tv actually showed up before. The delivery company set it up made sure it worked and offered to take the box away. The price of the tv actually went down twice in a month both times i called amazon and they reduced the price each time. The TV has a great picture. Could'nt be happier with it.
- This particular model has a reflective surface (though it is an LCD). It's not glass like a plasma, but it is much more noticable than my 40" non-120Hz TV (especially when the TV is off). If that's the difference, I'd recommend going with a non-120Hz if you are looking for low reflectance off of the screen like in rooms with a lot of windows. Also, I'm not much of a fan of the 120Hz refresh rate (though it's supposed to be the new wave in HDTV).
That said, the picture quality is fantastic and the size is great - I think I prefer this to going to the movie theater.
- delivered with a gash in box, but no damage to the panel. This set has the gloss finish. Many of the newer models have a semi-gloss, which seems to be a better comprimise. It depends whether you are willing to trade a a little extra pop for some reflections on dark scenes. It is definitely not a bright room set, but I returned an otherwise excellent matte finish toshiba because it didn't jump out at you.
I was disappointed in the color tweaks available as compared to the Toshiba with the same panel. Fortunately, the colors are not that far off. One of the fine tune color settings does not even work when you change settings, and have heard others mention this too.
I have noticed problems with motion, especially in film mode there is the mini-blind effect. With AMP on low, it looks pretty awesome for most things.
I have not as of yet encountered the dead pixel liines some have complained about.
Bottom line, if you want the really wet look, go for this set. If you just want a great picture go for the A550 or Tosh 530. The 120 amp is just not worth it if you cant use it.
- I love this tv. It has a great picture and simple to use. I compared to many other brands samsung has the best picture functions easy to use.
- Yesterday i went to Best buy to purchase wireless router and i said to my friend, lets go see if they have my TV! Sure enough, they had the same tv for $1000 more!! Same model, same everything. Best buy is a rip off. I told a co-worker about my TV and its sensational picture and the price reduction Amazon was offering and he went and bought the same TV!
Im going to be straight with you! You are interested in this TV, you are thinking to yourself, this seems risky.. Its a lot of money and AMAZON? Is it wise to order a TV from AMAZON?!?! I will tell YOU, next time i buy a TV, it will be from AMAZON! sensational service, and savings.
Now about the TV. Absolutely stunning. I was watching the ATL Braves with the 120hz on high and i could see nats around the batter, bugs and flys all over the field. A friend of mine said, "this is unbelievable, i wonder if my TV can see these bugs."
I had a "men-den" aka "man-room" party the other day to watch sports, drink beer and what-not. During half time, someone said to me, "Whats so special about this TV? High definition is just a hype-trend."... "GASP.." said my friends... i looked at my buddy and he said, "show him..." I knew what he was telling me to do. I switched inputs to my blue ray player, pulled out the infamous PLANET EARTH and pressed play. The rest of the night we watch the clearest picture known to man. After the night was over, my friend whispered to me, "You proved your point... Now, where can i get this TV?"

- For its price and for the output delivers , this is a great TV. This Model provides great color output and with a little bit of tuning , I was able to get amazing clarity and color differential. I bought this TV after a great deal of research and am happy to have picked this model.
- This TV is fabulous...I read all the other reviews before purchasing because we were definitely concerned with glare- as the TV is in our family room with a wall of windows. We've had absolutely no problem with glare at all- literally NO glare. The picture is great, very clear...especially with HD channels. We had been looking for a flat screen for years, and after all the research and looking- we're definitely more than satisfied with our purchase.
- I searched well over a month before deciding on this particular TV. One of the major factors was that it had to fit into a space no wider than 46 inches in my entertainment center. Most 46" TVs I looked at were too wide or too shy of the space I wanted to fill. Being about 45.5", this one fits perfect. It has a great picture as well. Of course, you do have to subscribe to an HD provider before realizing what a great picture it has. Of note, I found this model in some stores at a much higher price. This one was delivered and set up free of charge through Amazon. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with the decision to purchase this TV.
- After several weeks of research and many years of waiting to finally buy an LCD TV, I finally decided on the 4669F. I bought it through Amazon, and couldn't have been happier with the transaction. The delivery company was great to deal with and everything went smoothly. I was truly amazed when we first turned the TV on; it was definitely beyond my expectations. The picture was incredible and the matte finish on this model really does make a difference. We hooked it up to our DISH and surround system via HDMI cables and had no problems at all. Everything looked and worked as expected for about 3 months.
Then one evening we spotted a red dot in the center of the screen. I immediately opened up a trouble ticket with Samsung and within 2 days I got a call from a service rep to set up an in-home appointment. The tech came out looked at the unit for all of 30 seconds and told me he was ordering a new panel. They never explained what was wrong and I didn't ask since I was just happy that it was covered under warranty. I the panel was just replaced a few days ago, and since then it has started to make popping and crackling noises. This occurs mostly when it is powering up or powering down but also sometimes while we are watching TV which is quite annoying.
Although Samsung service has said they will come out again to look at it, I have to say I am a bit disappointed. This was a big purchase for me and I was not expecting to have problems this soon. I know that issues can occur with anything, no matter how much you paid for it, but it still stinks. Although the transaction with Amazon was fantastic, I can't help thinking that if I had paid the extra money for tax and purchased it at a local retail store, I could have exchanged it and not had to deal with multiple repairs. Hopefully all of this will be resolved soon so I can get back to enjoying my beautiful TV.
- I am speechless when it comes to the picture on the TV, especially whenever I play my Blu-rays on it. The picture cant be anymore clearer. The sound is just fine. I have had no problems what so ever with anything so far. Great product. Keep it up Samsung.

- I bought this TV about 4 weeks ago. It is great, no problems or issues with it. Great picture. I've had friends with sony's and sharp's over and they swear it is a more superior picture than theirs. I read all the reviews for this and was worried about possible problems with having to flash the chipset, but not one single problem. I guess the earlier production models had some issues. The 15000:1 contrast ratio is awesome, and the new models are posting 25k and also 100k. It can from a company called Vann's. It took 5 days to get by way of ground shipping. I had an all around pleasurable experience with Vann's and Amazon.
- I originally bought the tv a year ago. I wanted to give it a full year before I could put my honest opinion on here and I must say WOW. ALL of the HD channels look amazing, xbox 360 is a wow, blu ray holy cow. Everything is so vivid and crisp. Not sure what the price is now but if you are looking for a 1080p TV that is proven you should buy this one.

i have had my tv for about 3 months now, and i am constantly amazed at it's clarity and depth of color. the black is black and the white is white. no funky shadowing. no weird pixels, or discoloration. maybe the 40" screen was a slight overkill in my little one bedroom apartment, but i have been overkilling all my entertainment since i was 13. it just comes naturally. a lot of purchasing a tv is preference once you sort out the bad products from the good, and this is definately a good tv. i have seen it next to sony bravias, and phillips big screen plasmas,(not to mention all the other un-noteworthy tv's) and so far nothing beats it on realistic smooth continual color. P.S. amazon's delivery service sounded very scary, but the price was so low i had to try. i am glad i did because it was actually quite amazing. it arrived very promptly and they actually had to wait on me to get ready for it. they sent it to a distribution center in my area (Nor-Cal) and called me to set up a delivery time. they wanted to bring it the next day but i needed more time to clear space so i had them bring it the day after. it arrived right on time in perfect condition. we plugged it in right there and tried it on all my hardware, and i then signed off on it and never looked back.
- We have been very pleased with this TV. The picture and the sound are excellent. I would recommend this TV to a friend.

I bought this TV for myself and then recommended it to my Mother. Now we are both enjoying vivid, bright, and colorful LCD High Definition TV. The TV is gorgeous on the stand. The sound is rich. One of the great surprises was that without a high definition cable converter box the TV finds and displays the available High Definition channels on its own. Yes the picture would be better if I did have it connected to a digital cable box but for no additional fee I can view High definition TV because of the built in converter in the TV.
I have given it 4 stars as my other high definition CRT tv still beats the LCD TV in clarity and detail.
