- The first sign something was wrong was when the price went up while it sat in my online cart. Since it was still a good deal and it was the only 42 inch that would fit on my shelve I decided to buy it.
I choose to pick it up at the store with my 5 and 6 year old . I approached the sales clerk and passed him the receipt. While waiting I hear a gagging noise coming from my son. He's throwing up all over the floor, as I'm helping him I hear the same gagging noise coming from behind me and look to see a sick clerk rushing off to the bathroom.
Everything calms down enough to get the tv home. Excited I grab my old Tv which is 100 lbs and put it on the floor, well actually on my finger. which hurt like hell and brought on a mild case of Tourette's.
I lift up the new tv and try and slid it on the shelf which is about 5 foot up and built over the fireplace. I can't get it to fit in between the shelf and ceiling. Come to find out the Tv is not 27" as stated under the spec's but close to 30".
My kids start giving me a hard time since they were missing Sponge Bob Square pants. Leaving the Tv on the floor I to a quick hook up and wallah, nothing.
Crap, now I have to read the directions. ok now everything is hooked up and nothing. so thinking I shorted out the cable box I call the cable company and they happen to have a tech in the area. He stops buy checks a few things and notices I never reconnected the cable line back to the box.
So I now have two tv's sitting on the floor and a empty shelf. I really do not know anything about the Tv yet but maybe when it shrinks a little I can watch it on the shelf it was supposed to fit on.
- Great tv! takes up little space, looks great and sounds great! The brightness is amazing and the HD is awesome! I use hdmi cables for an upconverter and hd cable box.The picture quality on regular channels is better than samsung, sharp, misubishi. Analog cable is clearer but no hd capability. It has a built in hd antenna but it quit workin after a few months. Cable hd offers way more anyway.I have had a few blochy moments but overall I can't complain, I do wish I woulda spent the money and got full hd capability though. Also if your payin for heat you can turn it off, this baby gets warm! Not too bad though, better than anything philips or sony has to offer!
- I got this tv for a screaming good deal (Under $800 - NEW). We do not even have cable in my house so I was weary of purchasing a HD TV. We went from getting 7 channels to 52 channels! I was amazed. Not only does it receive ch 2 and ch 5 (which never was possible before for us where we live), it receives 2 variations of channel 5! The picture quality is absolutely amazing so far. I haven't even had a chance to watch a Blu-Ray Disc yet! We are surrounded by forested areas and have a tree cover over the house, so I can't believe how well the receiver works. The sound is also incredible. I actually want to watch TV now. Hopefully, it doesn't make me a couch potato!
- I am happy that most people who gave good reviews for this tv are happy, sadly I am not one of them. I bought this tv back in march 2008. two months later, a red vertical line showed up on the screen. I called Lg since of course it is under warranty and they sent a repairman to diagnos the problem. turns out the entire screen had to be replaced. so, they replaced the screen and that very night, I notice two purple spots as well as 3-4 other shadowing spots on the screen, this really angers me because the second screen was ordered directly from LG. I am in the process of trying to get a refund and I want to get another brand of tv. I am sorry , I have heard that LG products are good but In my case , it has been nothing but a bad experience and I cannnot recommend this tv.
- ok. Lets say this: another impulsive buy. I had a bad day, next thing you know, I was gazing at tvs in best buy. I didn't know much at all about the differences 720, 1080, plasma, lcd. etc etc. So I learned as much as possible in say, a 4 hour time span and this was the tv I picked. I also loved the sale price(would NEVER buy one unless it was on sale, so I had the pick of the litter...of what was currently on sale at the time). I'm glad I got LCD, it's more energy efficient then plasma. Plus, I'd always heard plasma horror stories about the screen breaking. I wasn't TOO worries about 720-vs-1080, but I'm a very easy to convince girl. As long as I was talking to the right person who didn't scare the crap out of me about the differences, I was all set. Plus I don't sit around analyzing the grass on the football field, which is apparently where this difference REALLY matters(to the men who like sports). I could barely tell the difference between any of the 50 tvs on the wall. Just knew which was brighter and had nice colors. I've had the TV since...maybe april or may and I really enjoy it. I watch dramas, ghost hunters(it's great for actually being able to see the minute ghost they're referring to) and well, generally I watch a lot of tv(though I'm not proud to say that). I've gotten used to the HD channels really hogging my dvr, but seeing it full screen is much nicer then the box in the middle from the regular channels. At first i didnt get WHY HD was sooooooo much cooler(especially to my boyfriend) but eventually I hopped on the band wagon. I can analyze the muscles of the guys on prison break much better now. Thank you LG. gotta love HD. It hasn't malfunctioned, is great for playing the wii, and though at first it seemed way too big for the living room, I have now adjusted quite nicely and really really heart <3 my tv.

- We purchased eight of these for our company to use as large informational displays. They seem to work alright, and have all the inputs that we need. In our case it's actually a benefit that they don't come with tuners, that way we're not paying for something we're probably not allowed to use here. Seems to do a good job of up-sampling, but not all resolutions (especially those larger than 1366x768) seem to be able to be displayed.
Only reason it's not five stars is that it would be nice if the unit would turn on automatically when it receives VGA input.

- Facial color was poor no matter what I adjusted.
Aspect ratio was incorrect in some modes. For example with a high definition picture the aspect ratio was 16:7.5 instead of the correct 16:9. When "Wide" was selected the aspect ratio changed to 16:10 still not correct.
The TV is advertized as being HDTV although there is no mention of HDTV in the manual or on the box. The box contains the words High Resolution. The quality with HD signals is not very good.
The instructions in the manual to do the necessary scan for stations is hidden on page 22. Should be up front considering this is one of the first things to do.
Unit is being returned for refund.
- Its all good...I have used it a lot since my day of purchase.
Best part is that I use it as my PC monitor and switch btw that with TV(there are not many with this combination and for this price)
What is missing-
1. Aspect Ratio...it is a tad less..but for a 19inch TV..I wouldn't expect much

- This is one of the best LCD HDTVs out there. I have never seen a more clear picture. And the price is well worth it. Gaming is great with this and my XBOX 360. Get it while it's still here.
- I found this TV at a KMart on clearence for $510, great buy I must say, goregous picture as soon as it warms up (takes a minute or two, a little longer when its fresh out of the box) features are great and the price I paid was unbeatable. Highly recommend, only problem I have had is the universal remote that came with my cable box cannot find a code to use with it.
- I bought this on a whim for $499 on Black Friday. Didn't set out to get one, but happened to be in line when someone else changed his mind. I normally research the heck out of these kinds of purchases but took a chance due to the price. If given a do-over, I wouldn't change a thing.
Pros:
-Typical LCD TV advantages (lightweight, low power consumption, low heat, no radiation, thin)
-Very bright
-Nice sound from the built-in speakers
-Easy to set up
-Internal HD antenna to pick up HD air signals (I used a $20 antenna to watch the bowl games before my HD service was installed)
-Great HD display on 1080i
-2 HDMI inputs
-2 component inputs
-S video input
-RCA inputs
-PC input w/sound
-Easy to switch to letterbox feature for non-HD shows (which look bad when blown up to full screen)
Cons:
-Takes a long time (relatively) to display the picture when you turn it on
-Takes a long time to cycle through the input devices--you have to go through all of them even if they aren't active
-For some reason, wide shots sometimes look a little fuzzy during sporting events, though this could be caused by my cable provider
-I could not find the proper code to program my remote, but my cable company sent me a 'learning' remote that allowed me to manually set each function. This could be a pain if you don't have that option
Summary:
If you can get a deal on this TV, then it should satisfy you. It's hard to beat for the money. Not all HD channels are equal, so it will take some time to figure them out (I'm still learning). Once you do, the difference is stunning. The resolution is such that it exposes the flaws of non-HD channels, so be prepared to change the settings for those. Also, I would recommend using component inputs or an HDMI input for DVD's or you are going to have a noticeable decrease in picture quality. Be prepared to deal with the hassle of finding a proper code for your remote if you want to consolidate remote controls.
- when i received the order the box was all beat up and one of the strapping were off - so i returned the item and when they picked it up the bottem of the bax was falling out - mind you i never moved the box from the time it was delivered to the time it was picked up - not a good experience

- This set has 1280 x 1080 pixels and not the full 1920 x 1080 that a full 1080p set has.
Although this set doesn't have the same black levels and clarity of the full 1080p plasma sets coming out now from Pioneer and Panasonic, the colour levels are accurate and deep.
Hitachi's plasmas also rank well with Consumer Reports for reliability, but at this price you might not care.
If you don't have the money to fork out for a full 1080p plasma, you will probably not want to look much further than this set.
- No human eyes can tell the difference between 1080i and p. I have seen them side to side and there is no difference! While it is not bleeding edge, you will love this set. The picture is astounding and vivid. I hooked it up to regular rabit ears and it had no problem with local channels at 1st auto program. I paid $999.00 for this TV and got a great deal (after thanksgiving - black friday sale). The stand is fine when you consider the weight of the TV (100 lb) and works fine when you turn the TV. No one is going to turn this fast... due to size.
- Had this set for a year, and no buyers remorse! It really was the best looking tv at the store. Looks unbelievable with hd directv even better with blu ray. I would highly recomend this set, and with the money you save, buy a blu ray player{i recomend a playstion 3}. Seriously, buy this tv! Looks better than sony or samsung. Buy it.

- This tv does in fact have high failure rate I know I purchased one
January 2 2008 and the tv would turn its self off after only minuets
of watching. Little trouble shooting with Philips shows that the unit had power board failure. Also when you would turn the tv off only the screen would sometime go out the power board would remain on with led lights on the board still Glowing. you can view the green led lights on the board by looking through the vent holes from the back. When the is turned off the lights should go off PER Philips. Sometime mine would sometime they would remain on after turning the unit off.
I returned the tv for replacement and the second tv did the same exact thing the TVs were MFG only one month apart. I wounder how many people have this same set that are not even aware of the power board not shouting off? If I had two sets with same problem you know there has to be many out there with same falure.
This tv looks great that is what sold me and the price and the name Philips. I got my refund and purchased a Samsung. after all this and dealing with Philips. When I see the name Philips I turn my head. Never again will I purchas a Philips brand again
- I wish I had done more research on Philips repairs before we bought our 50" plasma 16 months ago. Just Google "philips repairs" and get ready to read the horror stories. It's amazing a company can stay in business nowadays with such poor customer service and products. They look good, but don't count on them to last.
- I bought this tv and i could not be more pleased with it, it work's great, & has the best picture i have ever seen, It's connected to fiber optic and the picture looks like it's real, I have one in my coach and it gets bounced around a lot and it plays as good as the one in the house, the way I look at it if high End motorcoaches install it in there units it got to be a great product.Hey they do have lemons out there.
- I was a bit skeptical when I read some bad reviews on this TV but the price was too good to ignore. I have owned it now for a week and I am more than happy.
The picture quality is awesome, even the non HD chabbes are great. The remote is simple to use and light.
I hope my TV lasts longer and based on the picture quality and price, I will give this 5 star!
- This TV had a beautiful picture, for the first 5 months then died. Mfg. Warranty specifically states Philips has the right to send out a refurbished TV as the replacement, it took 2 months to arrive from Ohio. The replacement lasted 33 days and began to turn itself off. Contact w/Philips Cust. Service, again they stated per policy, they want to send another refurbished model or a LCD TV instead of the plasma unit. Research indicates this mfg. is no longer making plasma TV's for US distribution, parts and repair are almost impossible even on a 5 month old TV, opps, 33 day old TV.
Recent discussion w/ six independent repair services has informed me this model has been, and I quote, "a dog from day one"...
It's football season and my brand new big screen is no longer working!! This TV has been broken more time than it has been operable since I purchased it in Dec. 2007... SAVE YOUR MONEY, BUY ANYTHING ELSE, DONATE IT TO CHARITY, BUT DON'T GIVE YOUR HARD EARNED $ TO PHILIPS!!!

- This TV is incredible! This is my first LCD TV, and I was really afraid of things like viewing angle, image distortion. However, this TV has erased everything from my mind, especially when I put a DVD. Another plus is its size: perfect for a bedroom! Great choice!
- This is the most awesome tv. The experience of watching programs in HD on this set is like looking through a window at things as they happen right before your eyes. The contrast and picture quality is unsurpassed. Setup was so easy and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Amazon had the best price by far and even sent me a refund when the price dropped $100 within the first month after I bought the set.
- this is one great tv. the picture, sound, and over all experience is wonderful. i searched around for all different brands of lcd hdtv that were flat screens. in the end, no tv had a better picture and price than this tv.
i always thought playing xbox 360 was fun in general, but hooking it up to this tv makes that experience phenomenal.
This tv is well worth the money (I would have paid more if Amazon's price wasn't so low haha).
- I am able to review this TV because of the savings Amazon provided over in town pricing on another TV we purchased through them, the Samsung LN-T4069F (you will also notice some cut and paste of the review I did for that TV as many of Samsungs feature set are the same on both TVs). The savings alone on our other purchase made this purchase possible.
I did the mandatory research (as most of you have) before purchasing this TV and am extremely happy with my purchase. Having the LN-T4069F for a bit allowed us to have our faith in Samsung confirmed.
I was worried about the shipping process (and damage horror stories) on this unit as it was shipped UPS (vs. Eagle on the LN-T4069F). However the worries were unfounded. The unit arrived in perfect condition.
The TV is excellent for this category. The picture is awesome in HD. SD does not look very good compared to a CRT, but for a 26", it is not nearly as bad looking as a 40". I am one of those people that refuses to stretch a 4:3 image to widescreen so the size of the 4:3 image was important to me, and on this TV (because I found no specs or mention of this on any web site) the non stretched 4:3 picture is 13" H, 18"W which is 22" Diagonal. This is secondary TV for us, so unlike the need for 120Hz on the LN-T4069F for gaming and watching motorsports, we chose this standard LCD since budget was an issue. Although I have not played video games on it, there is the normal LCD motion blur in fast moving action, to be expected but not as bad as I thought without the 120Hz feature.
The sound is good for TV of this size. You have decent stereo separation, and the TruSurround XT does a nice job. Small speakers like these do have decent sound, nice for built ins, but don't expect any bass.
Cons:
Unless it is a hidden feature that I have yet to find, you cannot custom name your inputs. Even my 27" Panasonic TV purchase in 2000 allowed you to custom name your inputs to whatever you like. On this TV you have only presets choices (such as HD STB, Game, DVD, etc). You can't input things such as Xbox 360, Cox HD Cable and the like. It is hard to believe a feature like this missing, but I won't downgrade the overall score of the TV for something so small that really has no bearing on the quality of build and picture of this unit.
The base does not provide any swivel or adjustments at all, it is a fixed unit.
- I purchased this for a bedroom and have it on a wall bracket. It was easy to install, has good sound for it's size and the picture is great.
Only comment is on some older TV shows the backgrounds can be a bit too dark. I've tried playing with the setting but it doesn't help much. I would recommend this Samsung. It's a good TV at a great price.

- I bought this TV back in July. It is the best purchase I've made. I am a supporter of Panasonic products, and this TV surely lives up to my expectations. I was debating between the Samsung and this one, and when you broke it down, the Panasonic had the same features at a better price then the Samsung. Overall the picture quality is amazing, HD is amazing, the menus are user friendly. What I also liked about this TV is compared to a lot of the other Plasma's I looked at, the heat output from this unit is by far the least. I know some of my friends who have plasmas and you can feel the heat radiating off of it as soon as you enter the room. I highly recommend this TV to anyone who is looking for a good tv and a decent price.
- I absolutely love this television. It has 2 HDMI, 2 Composite and 2 component inputs which allows me to hook up 3 different gaming consoles along with my Dish Network all at once.
At first the picture is a little to blurry for my taste on standard definition channels. But if you play with the picture settings you make sure you dont stretch to fit, you can make it look very nice. And the HD channels are amazing! I was going to buy a surround sound system but in my apartment the speakers on the tv are suffucient.
Like many others i have done extensive research on which tv to buy and based on price and specifications i was correct, THIS IS THE BEST TV YOU CAN BUY FOR YOUR MONEY!
- This TV has far exceeded our expectations! The picture quality is excellent...esp. with an HDMI cable. I definitely don't feel anything is lacking since this is 'only' 720p. I can't see how the picture could be any better! The sound quality is superb as well, even when not running it thru the home theater system. And, even though this model does not feature an anti-glare or anti-reflective filter/screen like the updated model does, it poses no problems. We have a wall of windows, and once the TV is on, you can't notice the glare, except for on the bezel.
All in all, this was a great purchase, esp. for under $1000. It is definitely worth the money. Oh, and the white glove delivery was great, too.
- I orderd this Item 42PX75u over the internet and the item came 3 days early on shipping and we plug the set into our Dish network. We have the clearest picture I have seen on a TV . I would recommend it highly and also amazon. com. P Erwin
- I simply love it! HD TVs are awsome!
If the closed captions could function while using the HD feed (for regular TV or cable, not DVD or other feed like this) this TV would be perfect.I think this is because this technology stills developing.
If you are one of those who don't really mind the CC's not coming up on you TV, then is the perfect TV for you!

- I got this TV on Thanks Giving from 6th Avenue..So far so good...Looks like its worth the price...
- Got this TV at Christmas Time at Ecost and got the wallmount too for $606 total. I got it on the wall and found the sleeptimer didn't work so had to call the Soyo company and it was hard to understand what they were saying and had some stupid ideas why it didn't work but after the 3rd try I got ahold of someone who knew his tvs and worked me through how to put the code in and it worked!! The company is in California. Otherwise, I LOVE my LCD HDTV!!!!
- Haven't recieved this TV just yet but I ordered it yesterday, will write more once I get it in a week or so. The price was just right.
- I got the first set in February of 2008 but had to return it since it had 1 bad pixel which was a bright green dot near the top center of the screen. I had no problem returning it to the vendor which was great "wegotbetterdeals" and I highly recommend them. The reason I am not upset was because the Amazon details of this product were incorrect. Both the sets I received must of been updated models even tho they were SYTPT3227AB 32inch models. This model has (3) HDMI ports, not one and a 8ms response time, not 12ms as stated in the description. Needless to say this more then made up for the first set I received with the bad pixel. Set has been working great as of 4/24/2008 and has a quick startup time. Only issue I had was with my Cablevision remote won't operate the TV as well as many other universal remotes I tried. Solution is to buy a "Learning Remote". I am using a SONY RM-VL600 and it was under 30 bucks. Also has the option to turn the TV and cable box on and off with one button if you program it. Hope this helps everyone.
