- I bought this computer december of 06', on black friday, i ended up getting this tv at around $500, at the time the closest thing was over $1000.
there is one word to describe this awesome tv... perfect.
maybe its the amazing 1080i picture, maybe its the ability to play all my pc games with stunning clarity (crysis,COD4,FEAR) and have this act as a double monitor, or the Xbox 360 1080i graphics, im not sure, but everything i wanted or wished i had from a HDTV i got with this one.
- After having this product for 5 months, the picture went dead and volume wasn't always working. Kept taking longer and longer to actually turn on and I could only tell this when the volume was working since picture was already out. Called Syntax customer service and they notified me I had to ship my old tv back to them so they could look at it. Took 3 weeks for them to ship the tv back (with a different remote, not sure why). Worked like normal again for about 2 days. Volume doesn't always work. But I didn't bother to call syntax back since it was a pain. I recommend not buying this tv or buying a very long warranty from the store. Looking for another tv and spending the extra money for a better brand, like LG or Sony).
- That's what it means! I've had mine for about a year. No problems, great picture, average sound (you always need a home stereo or surround system to get the best from TV sound). Menus take a little getting used to. Just one HDMI port for your DVD or BD player - so get a multiple switcher if you need more. Most of us don't.
At $600 currently, this is a steal. I paid nearly $800 then. You can spend two or three times as much and get a little more, but not much more. If you already have a much bigger screen TV, this will be great for another room. If this is your choice for a first digital HD 1080i TV, congratulations - you are on the right page.
No paper user manual. Upgradable ROM via USB port. Make your relatives and neighbors jealous that they paid so much more for a lesser performing HD TV.
- I have had this TV for about 5 months now and have used most of its features. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. The picture and audio are very good. I had a Superbowl party and all my friends watched the game on this TV and very were all quite happy. My only complaints so far are:
1) The TV takes some time (around 10-12 secs) to start up. I wish it booted faster
2) The remote control is not compatible with my Comcast DVR; so i need to use 2 remotes
Given the low price of the TV, I am happy to live with the above mentioned shortcomings. Ofcourse, you know this is not a "top of the line" TV. But if you looking for good quality for an affordable price, you would like this TV
- Don't buy a Syntax Olevia! I bought one and it died almost to the day the warranty went out. Customer service said I would have to pay to ship it back and pay the parts and labor to fix it and that would cost over half of the TV's cost. They wouldn't offer to help with anything and they said they lost my registration card, the same one they used to call me with to ask me how I liked it a week after I bought the TV. So all I can do is to post this to every blog I can to try to inform others.

- I'll put this here because I'm not subscribing to some goofy forum just to give a review, and all the Verizon Fios customers are trying to figure out what's up. They are giving these away free with their service bundle, but can tell you nothing, I mean nothing. They don't have to because people are willing to walk on coals to sign up. Straight scoop, picture is great on this tv. All the options in the world, so you have to mess with the setup a bit. Hint: choose picture option vivid. Fios is way good enough, standard without HD, on this 19". I say save your HD money for the big screen set. Hooked up Phillips 5982 DVD 1080i upconverter to this, $59. Way cool resolution and picture. Check out the reviews on that. Also, the sound truly is inadequate, but not a problem, because every 19" is way inadequate. No worries. It has a headphone mini jack output in the back. It also has optical audio out in the back, but that is way overkill for a 19". Back to the mini jack. Hooked up Cambridge Soundworks, $79, oh my my. You can hook up any PC speakers to this. Went direct, no additional volume control needed. You control the sound through your blaster. It cuts off the TV speakers, like you need those. Also, this TV has the same specs as the Aquos version, except no goofy magnetic remote control. Oh, yeah, use your Fios STB remote to run the TV, DVD and STB. It works great. Follow the insructions provided by Verizon on the remote control, make all the units turn off and on at the same time.
- Purchased at Circuit City at a great price but you get what you pay for.
1 month after the purchase the HDMI port no longer worked and 3 months later the set will not power up. The warranty is 90 days parts and labor and 1 year parts so in order to fix the set I will have to shell out more than I paid for it in labor costs. Currently pleading with support to pay for the labor since it's only 1 month out of warranty.
- When I finally received my free HDTV from Verizon (about three months after it was promised) I couldn't wait to try it out to see if it really worked. All I can say is WOW! Loaded with features, beautiful picture when used with FiOS, easy to use--well worth the wait.
The set fits in great where I wanted it to. It's not the biggest TV in the world (what do you expect for free?) but it's a great little set.

- I have had this TV for just over one year now and I love it. I wanted to check out HDTV and not spend over $1,000 and this set was was what I went with after researching my options on the net. I have been very pleased with my purchase and the over the air HDTV is fantastic, especially for sports. My only regret is not getting a bigger set, but I plan to in the future. You have to teak the color settings and the sound (turn the bass up to 85 or 90 and the treble jsut below it) but I think this set was a great way to experience HDTV with out breaking the bank especially since you can pick up one of these sets for $100 more or less than I paid. However if want something for your living room go with the 42 or 50 inch version. Trust me you will love it.
- PROS:
A Great looking TV for a first time HDTV buyer who is looking for a reasonably priced TV but doesn't want the quality of the TV to suffer. The picture quality rivals that of more expensive brands of TVs such as Sony, Samsung, etc. Easy to navigate menus don't scare away the buyer who isn't familiar with tuning their TV. Easy to read hookups in the back eliminate any confusion when setting up your tv. This TV is also a great computer monitor as it supports a HDMI to DVI hookup.
CONS:
The sound quality and level of this TV is the largest setback to it. You'll find yourself consatnly fighting with the volume level of the TV to find the best sound for whatever it is that your watching. This can be remedied by purchasing yourself a hometheater system if you have the extra cash.
- I work at Sears as a TV salesmen and im a college student. So I know a few things about televisions. I am one of the better part time salesmen in our store but anyways.
Being a college student, I didn't have alot of money to throw around. Im 18 years old and wanted an HDTV to play my Xbox 360 on. All I have to say is I made the right decision.
Being around TVs for 6 to 8 hours straight can get annoying but it does give you alot of time to look at each set and see the differences in quality and price.
The best two looking television in the 32 range LCD are obviously the Sony Bravia KDL-32S3000 32" 720p LCD HDTV sets or the Samsungs. Yes they do look better but they by no means look $400 better than the Vizio. So weighing out all my options and wanted to stay under the $700 range it was either the Vizio, Sylvania, or the Olevia. This was the no brainer of the year. The Vizio looks so much better than both these sets and the worst thing is the Vizio is cheaper than the Sylvania.
I also got a great deal on it. For one the signing manager was told to put the old display Vizio on closeout and a new one in its place. I was like I wanna buy this TV tonite so he put the new one outta the box on closeout and left the old one there. So I got a 629 dollar Tv for about 500 plus my associate discount.
Once I brought the TV home I was immediatly satisfied. Going from a 13 inch SDTV (although it was LCD) to a 32 inch HD TV was incredible. After tweakings of the settings my 360 games looked just as good as they do on my uncles Samsung. This shows that if you are technically able you can spend far less on a TV and with some setting adjustments make it look like a 1000 dollar set.
There are some reasons I gave this TV a four though. For one the sound isn't very good. I use a surround sound system by Yamaha that was about the smae price of the TV haha. If you don't have a surround sound I do suggest you turn off the Simulated surround sound in the menu. It waill make the TV sound a little better. The only other negative with hte television are in dark movie scenes they tend to look a little muddy. Not horrible but not as good as they should.
All in all at 599-629 (500 with tax for me ;) ) dollars this is a great Televison set. I do suggest if yuou buy this at least buy the 300 dollar Yamaha home theatre system with an included reciever. Yamaha YHT-380BL Home Theater in a Box (Black).
- I have owned this TV for about 9 months now and it is great. Very nice picture with Digital Cable and the HD channels looks amazing. I bought this from costco and paid around 650 for last thanksgiving. My parents have a high end Panasonic plazma and this was considerably cheaper but the picture and quality is only a little less, very good value. I would buy again from Vizio.
- Purchased this VIZIO 32" LCD/HDTV from an independent dealer on March 19, 2008,and was blown away. Setup was quick and simple. Less than quality picture on regular analog sdtv, but viewable. Looking forward to upgrading to HD cable. Once I hooked it to my pS2 and toshiba HD DVD player on the 1080i setting, the picture and sound was totally awesome. Receive a few on the air HD channels;reception great! My regular DVD videos are crisp and clear. Absolutely recommend to anyone who's in the market for an lcd hdtv of this magnitude: great new name, product and value. Will defintely buy VIZIO again!

- First, contrary to what another reviewer has said, this is a full 1080p set. This is our first flat panel television and we are happy with it so far (but have only had it two days). Set up was easy. The picure is great (and we have looked at 1080p Blue Ray picture on the set using Playstion). Reflection is not bad at all. Very well designed remote, except that it has no lighting and no glow. This set is in our bedroom, and the power swivel was just what we needed so we can see the set from the sitting area or from bed. A word about the "white glove" shipping. This left something to be desired. There is no tracking info available. Amazon was telling me to expect delivery by 11 January but it showed up without a call or anything on January 5th. Lucky we were home. The delivery men at first balked at bringing the set up to our second floor, though they eventually did it. Still -- a lot less hassle than trying to bring a behemoth like this home from a store myself!
- I got this TV , very good condition , cheaper than Bestbuy or Circuitcity , delivery very fast , no shipping, no tax and I can injoy Christmas . TV very good picture and good shape . Thank you amazon.com . I will be back soon .
- Hitachi P50S601 50-inch Full HD1080 Plasma HDTV
I am very impressed with this unit! The pricing for this unit was also found to be "exceptional" via Amazon, compared to local Retailers.
Picture quality is A+, Ease of setup A+, Antiglare A-, Sound is also impressive B. I'd recommend you get yourself one of these!
THANKS AMAZON!
- This is my first High-Definition TV and I'm glad I bought it. The picture is beautiful and I didn't upgrade my satellite box yet. I could only imagine what the picture will be like when I do. The sound is great too. The power swivel is cool and easy to install. I highly recommend this plasma to everyone!!
- I got this TV a couple of months ago, but didn 't want to write the review before I make a truly run on it. I am watching it on daily base of course, and I am amazed. Sure... if you go to retail stores and look at a Samsung or a Sonny you will find that the image quality is better, but have a look at the price tags... You will see what I mean. For the $1500 this was far the best choice and I don 't regret it.
You can get a samsung or a sony or a panasonic for the same amount at 1080p but it will be 42". To truly see the image difference at 1080p you really need the above 42". There are some features that amaze me:
1. Swiveling base, controlled by the remote!!!
2. Different settings for different time of the day!!! Superb! I have a lot of light in the afternoon and very little in the morning. That feature makes the brightness adjustment a button away!
3. 3 HDMI's and 3 Component. Too many, but I am glad!
4. Excellent sound quality. From the TV or by using the optical audio out.
5. Connector to popcorn machine to pop corn right when the movie starts... Nah... Just kidding. I do however connect it to my laptop for gaming, and the color quality is unbelievable.
One little bug a few reviews noticed, is the speakers, that can be used as central speakers in a 5.1 surround, but there is a delay which is annoying. There is an option to change the timing but it only goes forward. But it is a minor minor bug...

- I love it.
- I bought this item because the price was right and the features were what I was looking for, but I can't say I'm really wow'd by it. I probably should've sent it back, but I'd already tossed the box by time I realized it really wasn't that great of a machine.
I love the sleek fit... it's thin, fits very well under my cabinet, and the swivel of the TV is perfect. But the sound quailty is a bit tinny... and sometimes you hear a bit of that vibrating rattle sound when the volume is turned up a little loud.
The picture is really iffy as well. It's clear, and I like that the bright/contrast/color controls are handy on the side of the screen, but I've found it hard to get all three adjusted just right. Picture always seems a little too dark or over-exposed looking... and as is typical with LCD I suppose, you really gotta be looking at it at just the right angle to see a clear, properly lit picture.
Overall, for the money it'll work out okay. But I'm wishing I'd waiting till I could afford a higher quality product.

- I love this product ...it is a great thing to have inthe kitchen under the cabinet while cooking and cleaning...I may buy some after market speaker to connect to it...if the room is larger the sound doesn't travel well...I had one in my first house and when we moved I bought another one...
