  1. Okay so I bought this tv about 6 months ago... Yes it is a decent TV for the price but there are a few draw backs. First of all there is not a single HDMI... There is a digital tuner trust me I already used it. My TV is already breaking... It has trouble sometimes switching from 480 to 1080... It splits my screen in half but if it you turn your TV off it resets itself... It is a good TV tho... If you are looking for a cheap LCD HDTV then this is a good choice.... It has a great picture quality and is fairly easy to use...

  1. Yes I use this gaming TV as a monitor with Vista. I use this to: browse the web, watch DVD movies and play video games. My video card does 1660x1050 and this monitor can do 1900x1200 at 85Hertz. It took a little fussing to get this to work properly but I'm satisfied with the picture. Web browsing is acceptable. I notice a difference between running it at 60Htz and 75Htz which is the best my video card can do. I think I'll upgrade the card soon. Movies are great!!! The quality of the picture is great. Games I have to say are mediorce. There is a gaming mode which has a low latency refresh rate. I used this with Age of Empires 3. I didnt notice a difference between gaming and regular mode but then again the game is not that graphic intensive. I got this for 1300.00 which I consider a fair price. This is my first HDTV so I wanted to low ball a smaller size before I get a larger size. With 1080p this will remain i my house for a long time. I'm finding that the new LCD HDTV's coming out, improve the refresh rates to 120 hertz which upgrades the picture quality remarkably. All in all this was a good investment for the price.

  2. My husband and I extensively researched the field before making the leap to HDTV. I looked at the reviews from Consumer Reports and He wanted a TV that he could plug his laptap into for programming and watching downloaded movies. This is a beautiful set that meets our needs.

  3. The main selling point for this TV is a lag-free gaming TV. And guess what? It's just that, lag free! In extremely time-sensitive games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, you can play these games with zero calibration out-of-the-box, no matter which input or screen resolution you use. It even supports 1080p with Component, a big plus for us Xbox 360 users that don't have an Elite.

Picture quality is good, sound quality is good, and everything else about the TV is good. The only thing is that you only have one HDMI and one Component port for the "Vyper Drive", so you should consider an HDMI, Component, and/or Composite video switch if you have multiple consoles. The other inputs are fine for your non-gaming needs such as DVD players and such.

Well worth the money if you're a serious gamer.

  4. This is my second LCD HDTV to use with my HTPC for games/movies/web browsing/etc. I upgraded to this set for the 1080p resolution. My previous Samsung LCD also had dead pixels... this one had none!

While 1920x1080 resolution is a beautiful thing, you MUST tweak the settings after hooking it up to your PC.

First, press "View mode" on your remote and enable "Dot By Dot." This will eliminate overscan and fuzzy text.

You'll also want to decrease the sharpness, unless you enjoy looking at JPEG compression artifacts. Hit "MENU" and change it to -5 for optimal viewing.

I also recommend flipping open the bottom portion of the remote and using "GAME" AV MODE... it's much easier on the eyes when you're sitting right in front of it.

This LCD is a solid buy and I am not disappointed.

  5. This TV is wonderful. The picture is so clean and sharp. It is a very good investment. I also have a 42-inch and a 32-inch HDTV Sharp LCD 1080p
Very easy to install, and packaged very well

  1. OK. I've essentially written the same review on Amazon and a few other vendors selling this product. I "still" believe that it's a discontinued product because Toshiba is pushing it's 120 mghz product and has entered into a relationship with Sharp for future sets. This may well be a "good marriage". But from my perspective, I've had this set nearly two months now and have read the reviews and specs on it for several months previous to purchase. The price now (well under $ 2,000) is an EXCELLENT buy..."for now". The set is thin where it counts and HUGE where it counts! People literally stop talking when an HDTV channel is on when viewing this set. It's that good! No banding. No ghosting. No "blurring" with fast action (tennis, golf, hockey, you name it). Regular DVD replay is excellent and you have options to improve the picture quality of those DVDs, if you love movies! Standard TV is good and more than watchable. Just go to Best Buy or any other retail outlet and see any of the "Regza" Toshiba sets (which may soon be discontinued). They truly outshine all the competition ... Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Phillips, et.al. Then you can SEE for yourself. But if it were me, I'd buy this same set all over again. You're going to pay a lot more and get a lot less otherwise, if you pass up this Toshiba line.

  2. I recently purchased the REGZA 52RV530U LCD HDTV. I am very happy with the performance and picture. The screen size is manually adjustable which I really like. My Sharp Aquos adjusts automatically to the input it recieves. Overall the picture quality is excellent and I believe matches the higher price sets. Fast motion is in no way blurry and I can't see any blurring at all.

Beautiful set I would highly recommend.

  1. I have purchased both CRT and LCD Viewsonic monitors and now this 720p HDTV. It's inexpensive and does the job but I expected more. I dislike the "stylish" stand with tiny narrow neck as the monitor wobbles easily. The remote and connector layout is a identical to the Envision. The menus are also identical. It appears a company in China makes The TV for various companies like Envision and Viewsonic. This is a problem for me as both lcd tvs are in the same room. This Viewsonic is the first purchased LCD to have a dead bright pixel. The screen is bright and clear with the usual slight light leak at the top edge. The speakers sound shallow so I don't use them. I have the PC sound connected to PC audio in with powered speakers connected to headphone out. This provides full range clean sound for both PC and TV. The tuner is great for HD content programming from a roof mounted antenna. Only the remote and power cord come with the TV. I had to buy a vga cable.
I'm returning it only because of the dead pixel, flimsy stand and remote that is identical to Envision's.

  1. After looking at LCD televisions for months I kept coming back to the Mitsubishi,I still like the picture over others I looked at,I am not a professional electronic person I just know what I like.

  2. Great TV. The Non-Glossy screen while not as pretty as the Samsung's functions excellent in a room with a lot of windows. The picture is great particularly when watching CARS in 1080i; although the Miss USA pageant was never so enjoyable as it is in HD. When it gets a good signal (non-broadcast 1080) I never see any pixelation or blurring in really fast motion otherwise the picture is always perfect (Broadcast and On Demand (the latter usually having the best quality)).

What is particularly important is until Comcast gets more channels in HD, this TV makes SD (480) look great too. An added bonus is while a tad deeper than most flat screens at nearly 6 inches, you can get a lot of screen when more limited by width and height; and if you are going 1080, you are probably going to want the screen closer to you any way so an inch more depth is no problem (Most 52" TVs are nearly 54" wide while this one is only 48")

Only complaints are: 1) the HDMI ports on the back are hard to access if you are using thick monster cable. If you get a less thick cable, no problem. 2) The screen doesn't tilt forward and back on its base (but does swivel to face more left or right); if you are wall mounting I suppose that doesn't matter.

Great TV and amazing for the current price.

  3. + Great Picture, stunning color. As good or better than XBRs
+ Perfect size and sleek design. Is really smaller than the 46" XBRs
    - 120Hz Processor? Merely a 120Hz refresh rate? -Doesn't smooth out movement the way the XBRs do, very misleading :(
    [...]
    - HDMI inputs are a tight fit
    - Speakers do suck. Sounds hollow. -A compromise for the sleek design.
    + Great Value.

  4. I just took delivery yesterday from Amazon. The pricing is the lowest on the net and comes with free "White Glove" service (The delivery is inside your house and set up). The set-up is very simple and we were up and running in 15 mins.

The picture is exceptional and the HD is terrific! I would rate this set as a 5 star, but as one other reviewer said, the sound system is horrible. The sound is "Tiney" if that is a word? Tried all the sound settings and nothing helps. Perhaps it is the small speakers with this set? I would recommend to anyone considering this set to also purchase a good sound system to go with it. I am!

Other than the sound being so terrible, the set is the best I have seen. I have checked the net and sen all the sets at COSTCO, SAMS and Best Buy, and this picture is the best and so very awesome. Perhaps the 120hz helps, but I would not hesitate to recommend this set, but to also recommend an external sound system. As two of us here have mentioned it, you should be aware of the failings of these poor quality speakers that come with this set. That said, at this price, you can get a great sound system and still come out ahead.

  5. I purchased this TV less than a week ago, only after getting a great deal. So far, I'm pleased with the overall product. It is a very silm TV, as far as LCD's go. The frame design is very thin and plain; for some, this may be a good thing, for others, not so much. The speakers are absolutely terrible! As far below mediocre as the sound is, Mitsubishi could have saved some weight on the total unit and left the speakers out altogether. I would highly recommend using this TV with some sort of external A/V system.

I have yet to purchase a Blu-Ray disc player, or even an up-converter for my current DVD player, however, I did see the HD performance at the store. It was comparable to all others; that is except for Samsung. Samsung seems to have all other brands beaten in terms of overall picture quality and clarity.

  1. This TV is amazing. Perfect size for my bedroom and beautiful image. Sound quality is mediocre but a $80 pair of speakers will fix that. Overall this is worth every penny.

  2. This TV is my very first HDTV purchase, so to say my HD upgrade.

Sure, it isn't 1080p, but it gets up to 720p, which is, in my opinion, good enough for the money you'll spend on this TV. The menus are slick and simple to navigate and the inputs are all clearly marked. (Some of the inputs go in on the back, while others, like HDMI, plug into the side.)

To put it straight: If you are looking for a good intro or upgrade to HDTVs, then I'd really recommend this TV. It is perfect for a bedroom or for some living rooms. It is a sleek, good looking TV and is well worth the money spent on it.

  3. I personally love this TV and the picture and sound that it gives. However I must state that the TV it was replacing probably should be in a museum. We have not as of yet upgraded to HD service and are still working on our usual cable service. love the picture which is a huge upgrade from what we had before. Personally the speakers are also great for me but again that is most likely because of where we started from before we got this TV. I love the fact that I am able to have both my DVD player and my Wii hooked up at the same time. The graphics when playing the Wii are great. The colours are crisp and bright. I would recommend that you change the colour settings to what you like as soon as you get it as it makes a huge difference. For the price I would say this was a great TV I am sure if you are worried about the specs etc then yes you could do better but you would also pay a lot more too.

  4. This has been a Great product No Problems,Easy to Hook-Up.Not as Clear as a Plasma but For a LCD HDTV I think it has a High Quality Picture.

  5. I also have a Sharp 20 inch LCD HDTV (non-Aquos) which I have enjoyed for 6 months. I would give it an A-. The 20 inch was purchased to replace a 20 inch Sony Trinitron (analog tube TV). I really needed a bigger screen since I typically sit about 8-9 feet away from the screen. This new 32 inch LCD HDTV is just right. However, it seems to be MUCH darker than the 20 inch Sharp. I had to adjust the settings to get the screen where I wanted it. Now I feel the picture is just shy of a Samsung or Sony, but the Sharp price combined with the internal HDTV and QAM tuner pushed me to the Sharp. It is easy to use and the stand is quite strong (no wobbling). Overall I am very happy with my Sharp TVs.
