5 comments about Sharp Aquos LC46D43U 46-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
- My husband and I couldn't be happier with our choice of the Sharp Aquos. The picture is great, sound is decent and we love it! I would highly recommend this TV and the price cannot be beat (we purchased through 6Ave Electronics thru Amazon)
- I have the d43u lcd by sharp. This is a bangin flat screen. It is suppose to be entry level, however, I couldn't tell. The picture is great out of box and better calibrated. Standard definition is great as well.
- Though considered inferior to 1080 46" models, being only a 720, after viewing this gem's picture quality in a major department store I was sold. Now becoming harder to find I acted timely and am now enjoying HD programming in total satisfaction. Some standard channels will take a little adjusting, but the picture quality seems to be constantly improving day-after-day. And according to test results in recent issues of Consumer Reports, there isn't much difference in 720 and 1080 picture quality amongst the better brands under 50"s.
You'll see the HD superiority after subscribing to it from your cable or satellite provider. And even without an upgrade in DVD players, your movies will still look noticeably sharper. A real bargain purchase.
- I'm noticing while brighter background colors are displayed, and the subject is darker I'm receiving faint gray horizontal lines on the brighter background. It doesn't matter what device the image is coming from, upconvert dvd player, cable reciever, or xbox 360. Its less noticeable on the HD cable signals. Has anyone else discovered this or is this just an isolated case?
- I bought this tv at sears after months of consideration, i work there so i looked at them almost every day, i finally got it for a good price and i havent looked back since! The xbox 360 looks amazing and i watched sin city on it last night omg its amazing. I ordered some hdmi cables on amazon i cant wait to see the improvement, it is all ready great.

5 comments about Panasonic TH 58PZ750U - 58" plasma TV - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV.
- This TV is awesome. Picture quality, brightness, viewing angle and resolution cannot be beat. HD (now defunct) & Blu-Ray & XBox360 via HDMI are tops. I didn't know what I was missing... until now.
- I have had this TV set up for a couple months and have to say it is absolutely stunning. For my money the best sets are either the Panasonic or the Pioneer. In side by side comparisons, the Pioneer was a superior set. The pioneer was also more than $2000 more money. For the savings I was able to upgrade my audio system to play the latest sound formats. The Panasonic is definately the better value. Vann's shipped the TV the next day and it took a little more than a week to get to my house. Very happy with the purchase.
- Outstanding Picture. The only word that comes to mind is 3D. I feel like I can each into it and grab the Empire State Building at the opening of the local news. I traded up from a Fujitsu 50" Plasma that I felt was an excellent TV but this blows it away. So now not to get into a lot of technical stuff, buy this and you get an very impressive looking TV, a picture that would cost you 2K plus extra to beat and that is even a "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing. All the features you would ever want in a TV including an SD slot for viewing your photos right out of your camera, and at least in the case of VANNS (the retailer that shipped mine) you get high line excellent service all the way. This purchase was probably one of the best I've made in years
- I've had the 58" set up and running for a couple of weeks and could not be any happier. All the good things you've read about it are true. It's big, it's heavy, and it is the best plasma on the market.
I had a hard choice between this plasma TV and the XBR5 Sony LCD. Either would have been great. I'm glad I went with the larger plasma, no regrets. I watch a lot of sports and movies, and this one is the best.
One of the main reasons I choose this Panasonic over other TV's, is a feature that the manufacturers don't also talk about, but I feel is extremely important. That is the 'finish' on the TV's screen, gloss or matte. The gloss finish on most plasmas is real bad, and you can be distracted by objects relected on the screen. The matte finish on most LCD's is great. This Panasonic is somewhere in the middle, and very acceptable.I understand that the 2008 model of their 58" plasma is even more matte. I would not have waited any longer when I bought this TH-58PZ50U model, it is fantastic. Buy one or two!
- When installed and connected to a DirecTV Receiver (HR-20 700 HD-DVR): The top showed a jagged white line when set to the "Aspect" called "Full" - The ONLY ASPECT choice to look at the picture witout distortion. Changed from HDMI to Component with no results. Finally changed the DirecTV receiver with the identical HR-20 from another room. It worked -- FOR A WHILE, Then the white staggared white line at the toP re-appeared. The next morning,TODAY, I turned THE TV on and the jagged white line is gone - so far. It has worked for 8 hours without the white line at the top. I don't know what to make of this but I have a 30 days reurn policy from Ultimate Electronics in Denver. They have been cooperativE - so far. Anyone have any comments?

- This TV is great. The picture is beautiful. I shopped around in stores and on the internet. Get this TV, you won't be sorry. The HDTV channels are stunning. And, the Standard Definition channels are good. It seems that technology has surpassed technology with HDTV. I was talking to a TV salesman the other day and he stated that three years ago he had five HDTV channels on his TV, today direct TV has over 90. I believe by the end of the year their will be more. The tecnnical specifications on Amazon list this TV as having 8ms response time when in fact it is 5ms. The blacks are really black and the brightness is great. Buy this TV!!!

1 comments about SOYO DYLM2284 Citrine Series 22" Wide TFT LCD Monitor.
- I needed a monitor, picked this one mainly based on price, and am very happy with it.
The screen is huge. This replaced 20" LCD, and feels much bigger than just a 2" addition.
The stats are impressive, and the performance seems to match claims. I don't play high end games on it, but everything that has been on the monitor has looked great.
My monitor has one burnt pixel. It's in the lower right corner....half an inch up and 3 inches form the side, an excellent place for a burnt pixel and very acceptable. I've seen much worse on far more expensive monitors.
Complaints? The only one is that the blue light below the screen, which is there to tell you the monitor is turned on, is too bright. I don't even know why it's there to begin with.....isn't the picture on the screen a good enough sign? This a minor issue overall, and this light is on every LCD monitor you buy. It is fixed with a piece of black electric tape.

5 comments about Olevia 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
- I bought it at Office Depot for $799. I was skeptical...price so low and didn't know the brand. What a surprise! Great picture and quality. When I see other HDTV's and compare price and picture, I can't believe what a steal this is. I have used since 2007 and no problems. Except PIP...still haven't figured out how to use. I would not hesitate to buy other products by Syntax/Olevia.
- When I say huge, I mean it. We upgraded from a 32" to this, and couldn't believe the size difference. Watched my first movie in 1080p and it is incredible.
Set up some of the settings in "idea", and could not believe how amazing the picture comes out for the price. I'm definitely a fan of these TV's, and would recommend them to anyone looking at cost vs. value.
- I bought this TV after reading through a lot of positive comments in an online forum. It was actually bigger than I originally wanted, but the price was less than the smaller sets I was considering. I thought it would be too big for my space, but I am very glad for the size now.
It has performed very well for the past 4 months, and I am extremely happy with it.
It is just a little bit heavier than similarly sized sets, and you do need two people to lift it safely.
I compared the set side-by-side to a Sony in a store. The Sony does have some darker blacks, but nothing close to being worth the $800 difference. There are some menu options to boost the black up on the Olevia but I find I lose too much detail. I personally think the hyper black of the Sony looks too fake.
Be sure to set the lighting setting to "dark room". It makes a huge difference. If you have a Disney or Pixar DVD (better with Blue-ray) there is a calibration section on the menu that can help you tweak your picture.
The sound is pretty good. It helps to boost up the base a bit. I've never even turned my volume up to 1/4 of the way and it is plenty loud. Its not a lush stereo sound, but it is good and clear.
The frame of the unit is a nice matte black. My parents have a Samsung with the shiny frame and I find it to be very distracting.
Pluses:
It has an HDTV tuner, so you don't need the fancy cable service. I have the uber-cheap limited cable, and all the local HD stations come through the cable without any special equipment or upgrading the service.
Additionally, you can get an HD antennae and skip cable altogether (unless you want the extra channels - you need to have a cable box and HD service for those).
It has a one year on-site warranty, but you need to send the warranty card in within 30 days or you lose the on-site feature! They allow you to register online as well. Do that so you don't forget.
You get plenty of inputs. 2 composite, 2 component, 2 SVHS, 2 HDMI, VGA, VGA component, and cable.
Downsides:
There are a few, but none are too terrible.
The manual is on a CD. This can be a pain if you want to look something up quick.
The inputs run up the left side of the back of the unit. Some of my cables were a little short to reach the top of this very large set where their particular inputs are. The TV is very stable, so having cables plugged in at the top doesn't pull it. Having the inputs vertical makes them very easy to reach though.
The menu settings take a few minutes to get used to. If changing the source input, you do need to scroll through all the unused options with a bright blue screen. When the signal drops out from a DVD or VHS the screen goes bright blue. My old tv had a setting to change that to black, but I couldn't find any on the Olevia (those are the times it is nice to have a paper manual). The dropouts hardly ever happen though.
It takes a few seconds to start up - again, with a big blue screen. Once you get used to these, you don't really notice them
There is a little blue light that stays on when the set is off, but it is off when you are watching it.
The worst thing for me is that the remote doesn't have an auto shut off if something is pressing it for an extended period. I always have books on my couch burying the remote, so I've gone through 2 sets of batteries now. I've switched to rechargeables.
- Don't buy a Syntax Olevia! I bought one and it died almost to the day the warranty went out. Customer service said I would have to pay to ship it back and pay the parts and labor to fix it and that would cost over half of the TV's cost. They wouldn't offer to help with anything and they said they lost my registration card, the same one they used to call me with to ask me how I liked it a week after I bought the TV. So all I can do is to post this to every blog I can to try to inform others.
- When I bought this TV it was through Tigerdirect through Amazon and the price (with shipping) came out to $925. That is an amazing price for a 42" 1080P TV. The picture is excellent, though I'll be the first to admit a $3000 Sony's picture would top it, but I can't complain for the price.

5 comments about Sharp Aquos LC26D43U 26" LCD HDTV.
- I wanted to buy a small tv for the bedroom. 26 inches screen is just the right size for a small room. I picked Sharp and can't stop watching it even having much bigger panasonic in the living room. The quality picture is perfect, easy to use all the options in the menu.
- Very disappointed in the picture quality, even after using an HDMI cable.
Colors very bland and washed out, picture not very clear. Absolutely nothing outstanding about this expensive TV. Even less than mediocre. Small size screens are usually a lot clearer, but not this one.
Was looking to buy a 46" & 52" for my other rooms, went with Samsung for both.
Wow, what a difference!
- Great product, excellent picture, easy to install. I really like the HDMI connections. Connects easily to Direct TV receiver. I would reccomened to anyone.
- Received TV quickly. Plugged TV in and setup was easy. After 5 days we had to unplug the TV and when we plugged the TV back up the TV no longer worked. There was no picture and no sound. Strangest thing I've ever seen. Seemed unbelievable.
Brought the TV in for service and the whole board controlling video and audio sound was burnt out and had to be replaced.
After only having the TV for 5 days I thought Sharp should have taken the TV back.
Sound is satisfactory. Remote control is easy to use. Non HD channel's clarity is decent but can't be stretched to fit so there is a black border around the picture. But that does not diminish your picture watching.
Basically, we are happy with the set.
I'd recommend the TV to a friend.
- I do not know how I did it but this TV did not have the one feature I needed on it. (I will not debate where that issue lies)
Although it was stated at the time of order the TV was in stock and would ship in 2-3 days it did not ship for 9 days after the order. The cross country shipping took longer than expected.
The TV arrived with a plastic shrink wrap over the manufacturers standard packing like you would get if you bought it at a retail store. That does not seem to be a safe way to ship an LCD via UPS ground but it appears to have made the voyage in proper working order.
The LCD TV had been opened and the box had some sort of stickers or labels removed after being cut off the cardboard.
My return was processed after being threatened with a 20% restocking fee and told if it was not in "as new" condition the refund was not going to be given. Nowhere was that mentioned when I checked the "stores" policy. The only information given about a restocking fee was if an item was returned with out an RMA which I was given.
When all was done the refund was given and no restocking fee was applied. This is the last time I will order something such as a LCD TV online. I would rather pay $50 more with a local big box retailer and take it home the same day, be able to return it without shelling out big $$ shipping to return.

- ViewSonic's high-performance N2635w 26" widescreen LCD TV flips you in high-definition. slow video response, low brightness. Build a complete high-definition home theater by connecting a DVD pl and contrast ratio deliver crystal-clear slow action flicks , gaming console, HD set top box and more with the multiple video and audio connections. HDMI with HDCP ensures long-term compatibility with emerging technology. Advanced Clearpicture Electronics enhance contrast, define details and boost color for amazingly lifelike images. Built-in 20-watt Dolby Digital sound completes the experience. For a total multimedia experience that your neighbors will envy, choose the ViewSonic N2635w.
- WARNING! If you want to be forced to watch stretched (distorted) image, (with a few exceptions of some HD digital channels), this ViewSonic model is the right TV set for you!
The two tuners on this HDTV receive both digital (w/ or w/o HD), and analog channels. When tuning to the analog and to some of the digital non-HD channels, the originally broadcasted 4x3 images are stretched to fully cover the wide screen size of 16x9 ratio of this HDTV set. This "linear image distortion" causes people to look fat and the overall image very unpleasant to watch.
After going through the manual, I could not find any setting selection to correct this problem. (Some LCD HDTVs have setting options like "STRETCH", ZOOM, SIDE BARS, etc., but not this one).
I called ViewSonic customer service, and, after being on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that "this is normal" and "there are no settings to correct this problem", and then the call was somehow disconnected (did they hang up on me? I don't know!).
NOTE: Not all of the TVs are like this one. I have one LCD HDTV that automatically switches between the 3x4 and the 16x9 ratios, according to the broadcasted image and the settings performed through the TV setup menu. The only time this problem cannot be corrected is when some (abnormal) TV stations intentionally broadcast an originally distorted image in HD, which may occur in 1 or 2 stations within 100.
Be aware of this problem before you fall in a trap and buy LCD HDTVs like this ViewSonic N2635W!
- This isn't a bad TV. I paid $380 for it brand new. The TV does take a bit longer than normal to change channels, but the video (head-on) is very crisp. Of course, from side angle, it is not the greatest, but I have it in the basement (game table, workout gym, lounge area) and it is on a swivel arm, so I can swing it around based on activity I am working on.
Contrary to other reviews, I've had no complaints so far. Then again, I've only had it 2 weeks, but its a beautiful TV, great picture using cable, decent size 26" screen, the audio I've connected to my basement wall-mounted speakers...I'm VERY pleased!

5 comments about Philips 19PFL5422D 19-Inch LCD HDTV.
- Nice small 720p tv for bedroom in small cabinet. Wife can watch from bed (~10') distant. Easy setup. TV has solid feel/look. Remote has nice feel to it also.
- This model TV is really great, easy to set-up and start watching right away. Beautiful picture too, even without HD-TV hook-ups!
- I shopped for a small set for the kitchen at Walmart and found this to have the best picture of the bunch in the size range. The first unit I brought home had a menu glitch where it would go haywire and even block out access to the action of the physical buttons along the top of the TV. This may have been due to a software glitch, or in retrospect, it might have been due to me laying the TV down along the control panel surface to install the cabling (which awkwardly direct downward). This problem also took a few days to pop up and may have coincided with me programming my DirecTV remote to control the TV. I'm still not sure. In any event, there was no way to address this myself (resetting the unit and calling Philips did not result in a solution), so I returned it. The replacement has given me no issues.
As of now I'm not running an HD signal into the unit, but it does a nice job with the standard DirecTV signal. My impression from the HD signal in Walmart was that this TV looked exceptional, and I have a very discerning eye for artifacts, hues, etc. In fact, it looked as good as many of the better HDTV sets in larger sizes.
Overall the unit looks great. It has a nice glossy black border reminiscent of Samsung models and has a sturdy glass base that is very sharp.
I have noticed the slight "haze" or backlight leakage that a few have noted, but to me it's not a deal breaker or really all that noticable. I do notice it because I notice most defects in even the best HDTVs, but it's hardly worth knocking the set down significantly, and most won't even notice.
The sound is about what you'd expect from a small TV. It's serviceable, but not great. I presume that most people don't buy a TV to have wonderful internal speakers, so I don't think this is all that noteworthy. If you want superior, rich sound, simply buy a set of amplified speakers. Since this sits in my kitchen, I think the speakers are more than sufficient.
As to input connectivity, there is basically one of everything: HDMI, component, S-video, VGA, and composite. Yes, it could be better, but I can't imagine this is anyone's primary set running numerous HD inputs, so I found it to be sufficient for running an HD satellite signal.
I think many reviews have too high of expectations, so in this case I look at the set in terms of value and function. For a smaller set that will function as a gaming/bedroom/kitchen unit, it's ideal. Sure it has minor faults, but I don't believe there is an HD option at 19" that doesn't.
- This TV was to replace a little under-the-cabinet model in our kitchen, and the counter space size was perfect for a 19" LCD. I reviewed many newspaper ads featuring lesser priced models; then thought I'd check on-line for price comparison. It was there that I got caught up into the product reviews, and glad I did. This model was the highest rated of any 19" LCD with a little higher retail price as well. The Amazon.com price was over $40 less than our BestBuy store including shipping. (BestBuy indicated they were sold-out on-line). The Amazon delivery was on-time, set-up was incredibly simple (even for a non-techie), and the picture/sound is fantastic. The cosmetic design is very sharp too. Definately would buy another one and highly recommend it to anyone.
- It's a fraction of the size advertised, only 16" long, the image is hard to see, the sound is tinny and doesn't project, and to add insult, they don't even include any cables with the TV!

- When my 10 year old big tube TV bit the dust, I knew it was time to move into the 21st century. This is a great second or third television for the bedroom. Not too big, not too small. Just the right size. Very good HD picture quality. Remote is easy to use, HDMI ports are a nice bonus for the price. The sound quality is not the best, but the controls and the input/output connections are ample and allow for almost everything needed to show through a monitor/TV screen.
- This is a great tv for the price. It is not the biggest thing, but perfect for the bedroom. The delivery was fast and it arrived in one piece. I have no complaints. The only thing that I didn't like about the tv is that the picture gets dark when you are not viewing from directly in front. But that is the price you have to pay for a lcd and not a plasma.
Overall, great tv, great quality, great service. I would definitely purchase from this source again.
JI
- I was told the TV had some minor surface scrathes, but the TV arrived as good as new..very happy with the purchase.
I will consider buying re-furbished again!
- I used the product reviews and a trip to my local big box store to select the Samsung 2353. The set is supported by Dish Network and shows a great picture. Thanks to all who post their reviews.
- Bought this just before I went into the hospital. Got out and had it hanging on the wall in the bedroom. PERFECT. I was so happy. Sharp crisp images and full screen ;)

- I bought this for over in Iraq and they dont ship to APO so that sucked. but I got it here eventually... The sound isnt that great so investing in speakers wouldnt be such a bad idea. The picture quality is the best and at 19" it isnt taking up all the space of a DLP TV. Its 1080p High Definition makes movies and games look and sound amazing.. I was impressed for $300. specially since most TVs over here cost way too much. Example for anyone heading over here -- $100 for a 13" But the sound is all I wasnt satisfied with the TV and speakers solve that.
- I just setup this TV not expecting much for such a great price compared to the other TVs of this size. Bought this on the last recommendation and that it has the built in tuner! Picture is wonderful, setup is the easiest (I was a little apprehensive of the other TV reviews, but since I just wanted something small for my home office, this fit perfectly and far exceeded my expectations. I wish I had another space to fit another one of these!
