- Beautiful colors and outstanding clarity. I do not subscribe to cable or satellite and use a rabbit-ear antenna. I bought this TV a few months ago to replace a 27-inch picture-tube set which worked well, but I had to keep fiddling with the antenna to get adequate reception. With this HDTV set I just set the UHF loop ONCE and that was it. I don't have to use the long VHF dipoles at all, as all the digital channels are on UHF in my city (as in most places). I am getting a lot more channels than before: for example the local FOX affiliate has an HD channel as well as an SD channel. Same with the other three major networks. I am catching some local/community channels that I didn't even known existed. More and more local digital broacast channels are being added. The resolution is great (much better than cable). I live within 15 miles of most of the TV stations in the area.
Delivery by Amazon was great and the price was fantastic. The XBR series is supposed to be the top of the line SONY but I couldn't see a significant difference in clarity when browsing in the local electronics stores.
- This is one of the best tv's I've seen. High quality. Especially nice for olympic beach volleyball.
- sony can only give me another refurbished TV. I was disappointed. I was going to get another Sony LCD TV at smaller size since Sony is such a trusted brand. now switching to Samsung. Hope theirs is better.
- I just love this TV - this replaced a 32 Trinatron that was 8 years old. It was easy to setup and the picture quality is great. It works with all of my devices and was easy to hook up to my stereo.
- from the description of the product. The TV is more than a TV, it is also a large screen monitor for my computer. The picture quality is high in HD, and is good in standard digital. The TV also has many other capabilities with picture and sound. I highly recommend it.

- I have always purchased Sony TVs, even since my family got its first Trinitron. The Sonys are always a notch above other TVs, which is why they cost more. That being said this might be the cream of the crop when it comes to TVs. Get this TV and you can literally tell your friends that your TV is better than their's, sight unseen. They might hate you for it until they come over and see it for themselves.
The images are sharp, as you would expect them to be. Going to the store to see it doesn't give it justice until you lower the brightness and the contrast on the TV. Because stores always blast all the settings to full, distorting the picture into some super bright blob. Get it home, calibrate it to the proper contrast and brightness settings and then sit back and enjoy. The picture will blow you away.
- This is a very good buy. Easy to set-up and operate. Colors are great & images are extremely clear.
- This set is gorgeous, and I don't know why I waited so long to buy one.
The picture is truly unbelievable. The only negative was the set up, Maybe because my husband and I are over 50. If you are also, get someone to hook it all up for you. You will love it.
- Like many, I trolled the reviews of this set for a while and deliberated between this and the Samsung. I settled on the Sony for a few reasons:
Anti Glare Coating
Picture Quality seemed a little more natural
Style of the set
Brand name
Most people have read the technical aspects of the set - it performs very well. I have it hooked up to Comcast HD and the picture quality is excellent. You do need to calibrate the set so search the internet and get better settings than out of the box - but overall you will be amazed with the PQ.
The only reason I didnt rate it 5 stars is there is still some motion artifacts with the set. I consider 5 stars a perfect viewing experience, and this set comes close, but there is still work to be done.
HD Cable looks great
SD cable looks so-so
Blu-rays look AMAZING
PS3/XBOX 360/Wii all look awesome
4/5 - would buy again.
- I did alot of research before I bought this television and it has the most amazing picture and color. I would recommend to anyone you won't be disappointed!

- Don't listen to any people who do NOT give this 5 stars; it's a great TV.
One of my favorite things about it is that I'm picking up channels in HD!!!!!!!!!!
Let's go into video games. The wii can now go into widescreen mode, and the 360, which I mailed to MS for RROD, will be able to play in possibly 1080i.
I can't wait for my 360 to come back so I can play Gears, Halo 3, and Lost Planet (if you got a 360, I highly recommend these 3 games)in HD!!!! Overall, this TV is the ultimate buy.
- This Lcd HDTV for the price has great PIP which isn't advertised as much as it should because you can be watching TV while working on computer via internet.

- For under $300 I have nothing but good things to say about this TV. It supports all of the video outputs that I have. Both my 360 (component) and PS3 (HDMI) games look great on it, and so does "I am Legend" on Blu-ray. The size is perfect for my room and easy to move. All in all, great TV.
- So far this is my second one i have a 32 inch and this model and both of them are the best, they were both very well priced and are great quality.
- this hdtv Has very great picture quality and it Show 1080p HD on my Directv Hd Reciver and not to mention the PS3 Looks Great On This Tv With HDMI and the ps3 picture quality is 1080p Full HD,Great Price For 265.I Highly Recommend. The only Thing Bad About This Tv Is The Lack Of Sound quality The Speakers Sound cheap and Has No Bass In Them But i Bought A Surround Sound And Madden 09 looks so Clear And Real and it sound like im Really There with This Tv.

- 15 Lcd Flat Panel Tv, Black
I have the LC 15AV7U which has the speakers on the sides. Still a 4:3 format. The picture is great and sound is good for the small speakers. Okay for a small setting. If you want to connect to a surround sound system, the LC15AV7U has a Digital Coax Output for that purpose. It also has a headphone jack if you want silence. Good TV. Mine has both ATSC and NTSC tuners.
- I already own a older Sharp 15 inch TV and have had no trouble out of it so I picked out this one and have had great service so far it has a great picture and the sound is fine I don't think you can go wrong with this one the price is great and shipping is free and no Tax.
- My TV stopped working after less than 3 months (convientiently 2 weeks past the 90 day labor warranty). To get it fixed I would have to pay at least $150 in labor and shipping on a TV that cost less than $300. What a racket!! How could I ever trust another Sharp product after this experience. What has happened to product quality?
- I am very happy with our decision to purchse this TV for our kitchen. I read the reviews regarding poor sound quality and almost didn't purchase this TV, but I'm glad we did. The sound is fine and the picture is great.
- The tv is the perfect size for my need. The sound is tinny and the picture is ok - not great. It was very easy to set up and program with just a cable cord.

- I set this TV up for a friend and the factory settings are not all that great. I changed the settings to VIVID then turned off/low ALL the noise reduction, gamma, black, etc filters with color temp at warm. Sharpness down to 20. With those settings, WOW!!! I was blown away with the picture quality on blu-ray discs via PS3 (Layer Cake, 5th Element, TMNT). Absolutely gorgeous picture. Played Battlefield Bad Company and it was a crisp, sharp, clean, beautiful picture. Gaming looks great!!! If you are looking for a 32" set, this is THE ONE! Best 720P 32" out there. Never seen anything better for this price.

- PROS
Video:
Consistent high picture quality across all resolutions, but at times consistently over saturated at 480i analog. With available custom user settings, the SE94 allows one to set a custom preset 480i color compensation. All the following were reviewed via Cable TV setting, DVD player or using the [...] test DVD.
color balance
image movement
still
sharpness
free of artifacts: jaggies, ghosting, image runs, especially in fast motion video
These are the settings I've tested:
480i via analog TV signal or digital
480p standard DVD output and digital TV
720p Broadcast HD digital
1080i Broadcast HD digital
1080p DVD output upconverting
Sharp's advanced video features are set at default, most are OFF. The test DVD showed a small amount of red color bleed and slight staggering in anti-aliasing tests, but no moire patterns.
I compared the video with input provided by a Sony NS700H/B DVD Player. The video is inferior via composite but there is little difference in images between component and HDMI inputs. I compared audio RCA cables instead of component cables on the component jack and was surprised by a slightly degraded picture, so slight it would not be noticed unless it was compared against HDMI.
HDMI offers some convenience features: it auto selects the HDMI input once signal is detected, and turns off the device automatically once the TV is turned off.
Tuner:
Includes NTSC, ATSC and QAM tuner. The QAM tuner allows access to 'open' digital channels, not advertised by the cable company.
Shipment:
Via Amazon ordering, deliverer carefully followed sign off instructions to the letter: allowed me to examine the condition of the box at delivery, open box, and examine contents before I signed off on the delivery.
Setup:
Quick and easy. Attach speakers then mount stand, all screws or bolts supplied with tools. Plug into AC and cable coax, and the SE94 automatically detects signal and begins EZSETUP process. Follow onscreen instructions and when done, the TV is ready to watch cable or air broadcasts.
For Input jacks, equally easy. Just snap on the cables as color coded or the HDMI, then select INPUT from the remote until you receive signal from the device. On HMDI devices, it auto detects signal and auto selects that input first.
Setup is unique per input. The SE94 remembers the volume and video setting of each input.
Packing:
Very durable and sturdy. The lower half of the box serves as a stand until you can assemble the enclosed stand. Importantly, the styrofoam pads never go farther than the metal frame of the LCD panel, and thus do not touch the glass panel anyway. It would be wise to save the box in case this TV needs to be returned, its very customized to the TV and difficult to provide the same protection for shipping as this box.
Instructions:
The Sharp manual is not as well written as a Sony manual. It seems to require more careful reading, whereas Sony's has always been user friendly.
Cables:
None supplied. I used or bought cables elsewhere.
Faux leather trim:
Is almost invisible, other TVs with shiny metallic borders often get dulled by fingerprints, the faux leather appears cleaner longer because it hides dirt better.
CONS
Remote layout poor but provides access to all the TV's functions: related or frequently used buttons are not grouped logically together and often small; it can't be operated without looking at the keys, e.g. the universal controller has a toggle that lights up LEDs when its set for DVD, VCR, TV etc., whereas on a Sony, these are all unique buttons, and easier to find and press.
Bands: Using the detailed [...] TV tests, slight bands were detected on my SE94 using 'grey scale' test, its otherwise most invisible. On some LCD TV forums, there are reports of sizable bands in the SE94 series that are annoying and can be seen in regular video. Just how common these are is unknown.
Volume is a tad weak: at 15Wx2 its rated stronger than many competitor LCD TVs yet it output is weaker compared to my old analog TV. The emulating 'Surround' algorithm of Sharp is not as 'surround' as the SRS algorithm.
CONCLUSION:
Given the audio issue, I'd rate it 4.5 Stars versus 5. The video is so stellar, it more than outweighs the audio drawbacks. Buyers should be cautious that reports of banding has been reported in the SE94 series, and it can be very troublesome.
- Very good picture. The high-def image looks amazing. I've only had two small problems with it. First, I'll sometimes hear a high-pitched noise when changed from a digital channel to an analog channel. This goes away if I switch back to digital, then to analog again. Second, I've had the picture not display when turning the TV on. To fix this, I turn the TV off, wait for a few minutes, then turn it back on.

1 comments about Mitsubishi LT-52149 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Integrated Sound Projector.
- For several years I have hunted around electronic stores for a good television and sound system. Every salesman told me that people will spend thousands on a screen, but barely anything for sound. This made no sense to me. I ended up with a 5.1 Denon surround system to go with my 27" tube television. Then Mitsubishi releases the first high-quality flat screen television with an integrated sound system that actually produces surround sound. It is an impressive set.
Set-up is fairly easy, as when you first plug in a cable from your DVD player or Cable/Dish, a screen pops up called, "Auto Output Sensing", which guides you through each device.
VIDEO: The border of the LT-52149 is surrounded by a 1" black frame and a 4.5" bottom which includes the Integrated Sound Projector. The screen is a matte plastic that barely reflects any light, even when exposed to lots of indirect light. LCD screens are also lighter than Plasma and are more energy efficient. The setup is fairly intuitive with an array of adjustable features such as contrast, brightness, tint, sharpness, color range, etc. all which produce a truly realistic and vibrant color. This model contains an `international color standard' that supports 1.8 times more colors. I can tell just by adjusting the color setup that this flat screen color quality far surpasses anything I have seen in a store. Television transmission (I use Dish Satellite) is very good, but DVD movies are as crisp as anything I have ever seen (I have a SONY DVD/SACD player). You can also adjust the screen ratio to fit your style, such as stretch (Letterbox), stretch plus, narrow, zoom, and expand and standard (Full Screen). I was surprised to find there is no "Picture in picture" feature, but my Dish Satellite has a similiar feature. The 52-inch screen is best for rooms that are 20' feet or more in viewing distance, but the clarity and tight pixelation is suberb.
AUDIO: This is what put this system over the top for me. Without wires and 16 small projecting speakers at the base of the screen, the LT-52149 produces an amazing surround sound. Now I have a 5.1 surround system which produces specific sounds from specific speakers. The Integrated Sound Projector produces a surround sound by transmitting the sounds to different walls and areas of your room. The setup can be customized by use of a colored plan diagram on the screen showing your seating position and the angles of the sound. You can adjust center, left, right, left (surround), right (surround), etc. until the sound is balanced according to your liking. It is not as pure as having a specific speaker producing one channel, but it is more of an all-encompassing surround sound (called Pro Logic II Simulated Surround Sound). It's actually a more realistic surround sound as opposed to a studio recording where different instruments come from different positions. I'm a hard-core audiophile, so I like both versions. If you just want a brilliant sound without the hassle of several speakers and wires, you'll be amazed. Plus, if you add a subwoofer, the richness of the sound is complete. I recommend a Yamaha or a Denon subwoofer and both can be purchased for less than $100. You really do need a subwoofer to experience the full range of the sound.
COOL STUFF: Besides a fairly easy setup program, the LT-52149 comes with lots of extras.
*There is a USB Photo Port easily accessible on the back where you can plug in your camera or card reader to watch a slideshow of your favorite shots or video.
*There is a clock setting to turn the television on or off according to your preferences.
*If you have children, you can `Lock' programs by their Ratings or Time. You can also lock the remote control - period.
*The remote control can be used to control other devices (DVD, VCR, DVR) by using the enclosed IR Emittor (these are small transmitters placed by the remote signal receptor of your desired device).
*The system is `Blu-Ray', MP3 player and gaming compatible.
*There is a free TV Guide Daily service available as well.
*However, this system does not come with the `kitchen sink'.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before you begin, you need to know what cables to buy. Call the manufacturer of your DVD player and ask them if your model is CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) compatible. If it is, you need to buy/use an "HDMI to HDMI" cable. If it is not, you need to buy/use a triple color-coded "Component Video Cable" (connects High & Standard Definition A/V components). All these items can be purchased locally or on Amazon.com.
I am a bit surprised at how long it took any manufacturer to come up with an integrated sound system with a high-quality flat screen television. This system does the trick and more!
