  1. The monitor part is perfect (great picture) easy to use, great size. For me dvd & tv are alittle out of focus. Some people may not notice. If you back up a bit it looks better. I'd recomend trying this tv out. Also- its "dc" 12volt so you can use it in a motor home.

  2. Out of the box months ago and still can't get it adjusted. From 12 feet away the sound is tinny and acceptable only if the bass is turned way up and the treble is turned way down. The picture is not crisp and the background is too black. If I adjust it brighter everything turns washed out. I expected more. I use it with ear phones and over a treadmill so it is acceptable for the price.

  3. I have owned this for over a year and when my laptop was stolen I connected it to a PC and it works fine. It's SAP function works and the sound was ok. I also have it conected to my local cable company so it does both functions. TV and PC monitor.

  4. the t.v. is a nice little television and it is loaded with features. I purchased it for my daughter after lightnening took out her 20 inch and she is happy with it. thank you.

  5. The TV broke a few days after receiving it. They sent me a new one at no charge and paid for the return of the broken TV. Only problem is that their warrantee on the TV would not start on the date I received the replacement TV. My warrantee on the replacement TV would start on the day I received the defective TV. Not very fair.

  1. This TV is beautiful, very easy to set and operate and has a great picture.

  2. Service is a big problem.
I ordered this TV on 6-3-08 and was pleasantly surprised when it was delivered on 6-5-08 from TigerDirect. Unfortunately, there was no audio at all when it was hooked up. The merchant requires any warranty service be handled directly through Toshiba; fair enough. Several days elapsed when Toshiba tried to find a service to come repair it. I was advised of that shop's identity and phone number. I contacted them and was told that a part had to be ordered (although they never have personally seen the set I presume they may know their business). Since then, I have been told repeatedly, by the repair service and manufacturer, that the part is on backorder. The net result is that as of 8-14-08 I still have no audio (but have a very expensive paperweight) and no firm idea as to when or if this will be resolved.
    Be careful!

    UPDATED. (9-7)

I now have a functioning TV! The defective part was delivered and has been installed. Turns out it was a bad motherboard. The picture and sound on this set are now great. However, the above caution still stands. The delay was unconscionable.

  3. [...]

This TV arrived with a defective screen. I do not live near a major city, so it took EIGHT weeks to get my TV approved to send off, actually send off, and get back. NOW it is great - has a beautiful picture, and I am totally please with it.

But, I will NOT buy a large item like this online again, as EIGHT WEEKs is ridiculous to have spent my money but have no TV.

  4. We've had the Toshiba REGZA 37RV530U HDTV for about 3 months now. We got it to replace an old 19 inch TV which was just too small for our new bedroom viewed mostly from around 15-20 feet away. The upgrade to 37 inch was dramatic, we can actually read the DirecTV guide from bed now!
Picture quality on the 37RV530U with our DirecTV Satellite receiver (digital, standard definition) has been very nice after some adjustments, which this TV has plenty of. The surprise has been the over the air High Definition local stations (720p), which look superb on this TV. I attached an old bow tie type antenna we had, not expecting much, but surprisingly we receive most of the local SF Bay area stations in HD. It was a pleasure watching Olympics late night from bed in HD!
This TV also has a VGA input for attaching PCs, which works well for a TV. Have not tried anything at 1080p yet. I wish it had picture in picture, but most LCD HDTVs don't. Overall been very happy with this purchase, well done Toshiba.
For those who might want to save some money, you can go with a 720p HDTV and not sacrifice much unless you have a blueray player or a PS3.

  5. We are completely satisfide with the TV and also the service we got from Amazon. This was our first time ordering and the speed with which we got the TV was great. Saving on shipping was a real plus. The delivery person brought the TV in, hooked it up to the cable and left. No problems at all. The pictures on the TV are great - sharp and clear. There is a few second hesitation when you go to a different channel, but this to us is not a major problem.

  1. I found the buying experience through Amazon's authorized retailer to be great. I was a bit nervous about spending such a large amount of money with a retailer I knew nothing about but the transaction was perfect. As for the TV. I don't know much about the tech side but the picture quality is outstanding. I did start out with the analog cable but upgraded to digital 1080p and found the money is well worth it. The TV needs to be fed the high quality signal to perform at its best.

  2. I've only had the Sharp Aquos LC52SE94U a few days, but here is my initial impression. First I'll say, so far, I'm very happy with this TV.

    Good points
The Sharp Aquos LC52SE94U has an extremely good picture quality (of course), and very bright. Even on standard cable it looks very good.
When watch analog channels you can see a small amount of pixelazation cause by the low resolution on a very large screen, but you really have to look for it.
When you watch HD channels the picture is far better than you can imagine.
The Smart Stretch option which causes 4:3 to be viewed at 16:9 works really well, often it is difficult to tell the screen was stretched.
A bonus to me was when I scanned for channels I found I have about 50 digital channels and at least 10 of them in high def. This is good news, I just have standard (analog) cable.
Very good sound quality using the factory speakers, not audiophile quality, but as good as any TVs speakers I've ever heard.
The screws and tools you need to mount the base and the speakers on the TV come packaged very nicely together. Very professional job of packaging.

    Low points
I was disappointed to find the Aquos did not have channel labeling (on analog channels - digital channels self label). I use this feature a lot, and I have grown use to having it on my past TVs. So, now I'm forced to write my channels down on a piece of paper so I know which is which (of course this is a moot point if you are using digital cable).
The menu control to disable a channel is cumbersome at best.
I don't like the way the power cord plugs in, it doesn't seem very secure for a unit designed to hang on the wall.

  1. This product was perfect for me. The delivery time was right on time. It only took 5 days to arrive. Everything was in perfect condition.

Pros: Perfect 1080p tv which is hard to find with a 32" model. PLays blue-ray games and movies great with exceptional picture. The blacks are very black and virutally no cloudiness that I can see. Excellent number of inputs. Menus look very nice and easy to use.

Cons: None that I have noticed so far and I have ownweed it one month while running a ps3.

All in all. If you are looking for a nice 1080p TV but don't want some thing huge. This tv is perfect. I have limited space but still wanted the best picture I could get and this TV is great. The price was amazing aswell considering all the specs that it has. I think this is the best deal for smaller LCD TVS out there right now.

  2. I've owned this set for several weeks now and am very impressed by the overall picture quality. The images are sharp, the blacks are reasonably deep, the colors are well balanced, and there is no backlight bleeding. I recommend turning down the backlight to 50 or less (mine is at 40) to get the best picture. Sound quality is only mediocre but I use mine with a 5.1 surround system, so that is not a problem for me. I don't know how this set compares to Sony or Samsung because those sets will not fit in my cabinet, the Toshiba does - which is another plus for people with tight spaces. BTW, the dimensions given on the US web site for the set are incorrect - they slightly overstate the actual dimensions. Go to the Canadian website for the correct dimensions if this is critical to you. Also the owner's manual is available through the Canadian website.

  3. This is the Best Picture I have ever seen on a 32" Flat Screen. It comes with alot of stuff I dont' know how to use any of the inputs but Picture is Great and Sound is extremely good right out of the box not hooked up to anything other than the cable.

I am very pleased with my purchase. The going $879.00 is well worth it for this TV. I was going to go cheap in the $550 range but decided to upgrade and Am I ever Glad I did.

  4. Fair warning to anyone thinking about buying Toshiba. If you are investing in LCD and expect to have the TV more than a year Toshiba is REALLY a bad buy. I purchased a Regza 32HL66 in October, 2006. The set was manufactured in July 2006. I bought it sight unseen because I had always had such great product from Toshiba. In April of this year I noticed a slight gray strip near the top of the screen. Now I have three nice deep gray stripes of running half the way down the screen!! I talked to Toshiba and they said I should have bought an extended warranty. That's ALL they said! No apologies or you must have gotten a bad set, etc.! Well at lest I do know I should have boguht the extended warranty but it's too late for that. In my opinion, when the company got involved in HD DVD their quality went to hell. So all I'm saying is buyer beware.

  1. I've had this tv for a few weeks now and am very pleased. I've had more expensive LCDs previously (Sony and Samsung), and personally I don't notice a difference in quality. Easy to use features, sound is good, looks good. Only downfall is that there are only 2HDMI inputs.

  2. From the time I ordered till this very moment (three weeks later) both the shipping and the TV are perfect.
Great HD picture and great sound. Yes get this one, and the price was perfect too!

  3. I recently purchased a Toshiba 42AV500U 42" LCD Flat Panel Television, and I was blown away by the performance and quality. Every channel looks good, and the HD channels are spectacular. The definition is sharp, the color is rich and the sound is crystal clear. I'm considering buying a 26" for the bedroom, and will definitely look at Toshiba first. I am very happy with this television, and for those who want high quality, a nice ample screen size and are on a budget, let me highly recommend this television as the one to own.

    5 Stars!

    John

  4. Bought their 42" Regza last year for around $1,100. Just bought this newer (updated) version on sale for $798 locally (American TV). Great value. Excellent all around. 720p? Have seen their 1080p Regza and can't tell the difference. Connections were not a concern for me as it is to be used JUST with HD satellite.

Doubtless the switch to all 1080p has affected the marketplace and the 720's are being dumped. My old eyes will never know the difference on a 42 inch set.

  5. Pros:Great TV.Excellent Picture and Sound.Great Price.Excellent Delivery.Universal, easy to program, remote control (I programmed 2 devices in les than 5 min).I mounted it on the wall using a Peerles Universal Tilting Mount, also very good.
    Cons: None so far.

  1. This is as good as it gets. Great TV and a great company to do business with. The TV came by special truck and was setup by them in a few minutes. White glove service all the way. Oh, did I fail to mention it was the lowest price as well. $700 less than Best Buy!

  2. After lengthly investigation, we bought this instead of an LCD Sony or Samsung because we though the LCD screens might get damaged too easily by our small children. After a month or so of use, we are very pleased with the Panasonic plasma. Great picture. No evidence of burn in. No significant problems with reflections, partly due to where we happen to use it. Only two small gripes: 1) For some goofy reason, Panasonic puts the channel up/down toggle on its remote controls where the volume up/down usually goes (on the left side), and its volume up/down where the channel up/down usually goes (on the right side). The remote is otherwise nicely designed. 2) The TV includes an SD card slot, which you can load up with photos, etc. They look great, but there is no random play feature on it, so if you have 500 photos on the card, you will always see Photos 1, 2, 3, etc; but never see Photos 498, 499, 500!

  3. I've had my Panasonic TH-46PZ80V set for about a month now and love it. It has an amazing picture and none of the glare issues I've read about in other reviews (and our living room gets a lot of direct sunlight during the day). I'd recommend this set to anyone. I especially love the insert my camera SanDisk for an instant slide show. The set even automatically orients the picture. Amazon had the cheapest price, free delivery, and they even unboxed it and set it up. Amazing service. Thanks Amazon.

  4. We recently bought the Panasonic Viera 46in plasma TV. The price was good and the delivery time excellent. The TV itself has an excellent picture and the controls (remote) are easy to use. Set-up was a breeze. This was our first time to buy a large electronic from Amazon. We are very pleased with the experience and will consider other large electronic purchases in the future.

  5. The picture is great. I thought my buddy's HP plasma was awesome...i didnt know anything. the surround sound even sounds great, though don't expect much in terms of bass. I have a double window about 4 ft from the TV and i havent felt any glare problems at all. I use FIOS, and my friends with comcast are stunned.

  1. OK. I've essentially written the same review on Amazon and a few other vendors selling this product. I "still" believe that it's a discontinued product because Toshiba is pushing it's 120 mghz product and has entered into a relationship with Sharp for future sets. This may well be a "good marriage". But from my perspective, I've had this set nearly two months now and have read the reviews and specs on it for several months previous to purchase. The price now (well under $ 2,000) is an EXCELLENT buy..."for now". The set is thin where it counts and HUGE where it counts! People literally stop talking when an HDTV channel is on when viewing this set. It's that good! No banding. No ghosting. No "blurring" with fast action (tennis, golf, hockey, you name it). Regular DVD replay is excellent and you have options to improve the picture quality of those DVDs, if you love movies! Standard TV is good and more than watchable. Just go to Best Buy or any other retail outlet and see any of the "Regza" Toshiba sets (which may soon be discontinued). They truly outshine all the competition ... Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Phillips, et.al. Then you can SEE for yourself. But if it were me, I'd buy this same set all over again. You're going to pay a lot more and get a lot less otherwise, if you pass up this Toshiba line.

  2. I recently purchased the REGZA 52RV530U LCD HDTV. I am very happy with the performance and picture. The screen size is manually adjustable which I really like. My Sharp Aquos adjusts automatically to the input it recieves. Overall the picture quality is excellent and I believe matches the higher price sets. Fast motion is in no way blurry and I can't see any blurring at all.

Beautiful set I would highly recommend.

  3. After buying and setting up this set, it powers itself off twice a day at the same times. I made sure the sleep timer and game timer were both set to zero, but still happens. Such a shame because the picture quality was far better than the other sets at the showroom. This is the 2nd Toshiba TV I had go bad, so I probably won't buy this brand again. My other LCD TV is an Emerson and has had absolutely no problems at all. The Toshiba is going back and I'm getting another brand.

  1. Nice picture especially after a little fiddling. It looks a
lot bigger than I thought. Easy to hook up and the sounds not bad.
Its a good looking TV. Shows well in a bright room.

  2. Sharp, beautiful picture. My daughter and I set this up in minutes. Lightweight set, yet large picture image. Very slim! Excellent white glove delivery, also.

  3. I received my tv with a damaged panel. Thankfully, Samsung provides free in-home repair for their products through their authorized repair agents. It was a good experience, relatively hassle free, and now the TV looks as good as it should have to begin with. It has all of the basic functions that you'd look for, including 2 HDMI and 2 component inputs, and a host of picture settings. The sound is fine but not thrilling, and chances are it's a bedroom tv (my situation) or you have a surround sound hookup through the digital audio out. I am very pleased with the depth of the blacks, as at 8,000:1 the contrast ratio is as high as many plasmas were just a year ago. The color accuracy is quite good (once you do some calibration to your tastes) and the dedicated brightness setting helps you customize it to the brightness of the room you are in. I haven't noticed any false conturing nor any motion blur, as the refresh rate is also good. Though maxing out at 1080i/720p, at this size the extra dollars for 1080p are really wasted. Save your money there and get a 19-in LCD for the kitchen! My simple, yet favorite, feature is the input recognition. No cycling through all possible inputs to get to the one you want; only active inputs come up when cycling through your sources. Nothing really negative to say... other than the lag between turning on the set and getting a picture, but that is a common LCD trait. The TV's design is attractive, has all of the features you really need, and was a really reasonable price (thank you Lightning Deals!). I recommend it.

  4. Easy set-up and connections. Once I attached the HDMI cables it looked great. Very pleased with the picture. From purchase to delivery ,(through Amazon), it was a very satisfactory experience.

  5. What can I say? I got this TV for dirt cheap. I got it hooked up via component cables through my cable box and the picture looks crisp! I don't know why but my cable box doesn't have an HDMI outlet, but it does have 2 firewire ports and a USB port, WTF?! Shame on Cox Cable. I do however have HDMI hooked up through my PS3 and the picture is far superior than my HD Cable. The speakers are surprisingly good, especially through HD sound on Blu-ray, can't ask for more for a bedroom TV. Very satisfied with the TV and Amazon delivery.

3 comments about Sony Bravia M-Series KDL-37M4000 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.
  1. I purchased it somehow mislead by other Sony Bravia reviews.I even bought 3 year extended warranty, since I was convinced this is a good TV.I sold my 42" Visio plasma TV, since it was too big for my bedroom and since it was plasma, too "hot" in terms of power consumption and heating effect I was getting in my bedroom (Florida).I sold it to my friend and boy, I really am sorry now!The picture quality of this 37 inch Bravia is a shame. First of all the lack of decent black levels showing the picture as it would be a watching through "milky cloud" - I'm unable to get a balanced contrast/brightness level. It's either to milky or the contrast is blown out of balance.
Also, colors are unnatural.Since the blacks or dark colors are showing cloudy too, it' easy to notice all digital artifacts that are associated with a compressed imaging coming from cable television (and I really do have excellent TV signal, coming from Verizon FIOS TV digital box).
It's very modest to say, that getting this TV 2 stars out of five is generous rating.
Overall lousy performance, washed out colors, poor contrast and impossible to get balanced picture.
The only good this TV is doing for me is not heating my bedroom...since I'm not watching it almost at all.
Buyers Beware!I would love to replace it...

  2. I purchased a Sony KDL 37M4000 after doing quite a bit of research on 720p LCD TVs. It was the largest size that would fit an existing cabinet, and I'm not a gamer, so I didn't need the 1080p XBR6 for quite a bit more money. I have it hooked up to a Comcast HD Cable Box and a Sony PS3 Gamestation for Blu-Ray discs.

The picture is excellent, particularly in the vivid mode for sports and concerts. It can also easily be calibrated using the remote menu settings to give you exactly what you may be looking for. The blu-ray discs are fabulous at 1080i, but frankly, the Standard Definition DVDs show almost as well at 480p. Also, contrary to what I've read about some LCD TV's, the viewing angle is extremely broad; there is not a significant loss of content from anywhere in the room where the TV is located. I am using component video inputs rather than HDMI inputs, and I have purchased a couple of HDMI connectors which I will eventually use just to see if there's any difference, but the display with component inputs is wonderful. If there is any drawback at all, it's that I can't use the TV remote or cable remote for the PS3 player, but that is a minor quibble indeed. I'd recommend this TV to anyone who wants one for around $1100.00 out the door.

  3. I am not at all satisfied with this SONY product. I could never get a bright picture. the picture is all hazy with low contrast. I am returing this product at the expense of $100 for shipping.

5 comments about Sharp Aquos LC32GP3UW 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, White.
  1. This is my first HDTV. I bought this TV to replace my old SDTV and my fairly new dell monitor. The game options also peaked my interest. As a computer monitor it has met all expectations. I have large space to work with and everything looks great. I haven't played many games yet but I haven't seen any ghosting in TF2, Vampire: TM, or Audiosurf. Be sure to set the view mode to Dot to Dot when using this as a monitor, it looks best that way.

I have my WII, PS3, and PS2 hooked up also. WII and PS2 games look just as good as they did on the SDTV. I am only using the PS3 as bluray player/dvd upscaler at the moment. Bluray looks great and DVDs look a lot better than they did on SDTV.

Over the air HD looks great. SD over cable looks good to unwatchable depending on which channel I watching. Unfortunately the channels I want most are not offered in HD yet by comcast. The scifi channel is extremely bad and is the channel I care about the most. I might cancel my cable until they have HD for it. There is no SD channel that looks better than it did on my SDTV. You will want to keep this in mind if you are watching mostly SD.

The best thing about this TV is it has inputs up the wazzu. No need to buy a $50 to $100 hdmi switch box with this tv. Note also the component inputs are 1080p as well.

The bad thing about this monitor is that there is no DVI input. I am using a dvi to hdmi cable for the computer. This is the only way to get the resolution I want. Another poor point is the way you change inputs. They way it is setup makes using a universal remote hard. They didn't include a separate button for each input. Instead you have the cycle through to the one you want. There is no way for a universal remote to know which input you are currently on so you can not setup a macro to switch to different devices because the remote will never know how long to cycle through inputs to get to the device you want. If each button input had a button assigned to it using a universal remote would be easy. Minor problem but enough to take off a star for me.

One more thing that is bad about this tv. There is no Picture in Picture or Picture Beside Picture. Given all they packed into this TV I find this odd to leave off.

Even with the problems I think this is a great TV. No ghosting or banding. No dead pixels. Just the right sized for my small apartment. Not perfect but darn close.

  2. The only drawback is high price, but SHARP LC-32GP3U has the best picture and sound quality of any 32" LCD TV currently on the market. 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution works great as PC monitor using DVI-to-HDMI cable. Very slick design. No regrets.

  3. This is my first and only HDTV. I do have to say it is by far the best I have ever owned. I normally buy high end TV's and this is certainly one. Picture quality is great, and the user friendliness is easy.

  4. Sharps AQUOS LC32GP3U exceeded all my expectations. After an intense education process about HD TV's. I knew I wanted a good picture (even with an antenna only) along with enough hookups and choice in hookups for my VHS, DVD, Games, etc.. Sharp really accommodated my main concerns without buying added equipment or cables for what I already had. This LCD really accommodates every hook up possible except DVI, the newer upgrade to HDMIx3 was not needed for my use because I'm not using this as a computer monitor. The ability to hook this up to a computer and use it for on-line use was also an appealing option. The swiveling base as also a nice feature as well as the slim design and extra side hookups for easy access for games camcorders etc. From the moment I pulled this out of the box to full set up it took less than twenty minutes. Very easy to work and I didn't need to rely on the manual or a professional to install my TV, as a single female I didn't need a strong man to pick it up for me either. I highly recommend this TV and may even purchase another one for my sons games. The only draw back is watching VHS, which is not set up for HD quality. Even liked the analog stations, but not as well as the HD. I am not disappointed at all.

  5. Excellent product with good sound from the speakers in front. The LCD has the ability to recognise the active port and is capable of displaying PS3 games in 720p & 1080p when connected via HDMI. The regular DVD's also have better clarity and sound.

A good product for a person wishing to operate a gaming system on, highly recommended.
