  1. Yes I use this gaming TV as a monitor with Vista. I use this to: browse the web, watch DVD movies and play video games. My video card does 1660x1050 and this monitor can do 1900x1200 at 85Hertz. It took a little fussing to get this to work properly but I'm satisfied with the picture. Web browsing is acceptable. I notice a difference between running it at 60Htz and 75Htz which is the best my video card can do. I think I'll upgrade the card soon. Movies are great!!! The quality of the picture is great. Games I have to say are mediorce. There is a gaming mode which has a low latency refresh rate. I used this with Age of Empires 3. I didnt notice a difference between gaming and regular mode but then again the game is not that graphic intensive. I got this for 1300.00 which I consider a fair price. This is my first HDTV so I wanted to low ball a smaller size before I get a larger size. With 1080p this will remain i my house for a long time. I'm finding that the new LCD HDTV's coming out, improve the refresh rates to 120 hertz which upgrades the picture quality remarkably. All in all this was a good investment for the price.

  2. My husband and I extensively researched the field before making the leap to HDTV. I looked at the reviews from Consumer Reports and He wanted a TV that he could plug his laptap into for programming and watching downloaded movies. This is a beautiful set that meets our needs.

  3. The main selling point for this TV is a lag-free gaming TV. And guess what? It's just that, lag free! In extremely time-sensitive games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, you can play these games with zero calibration out-of-the-box, no matter which input or screen resolution you use. It even supports 1080p with Component, a big plus for us Xbox 360 users that don't have an Elite.

Picture quality is good, sound quality is good, and everything else about the TV is good. The only thing is that you only have one HDMI and one Component port for the "Vyper Drive", so you should consider an HDMI, Component, and/or Composite video switch if you have multiple consoles. The other inputs are fine for your non-gaming needs such as DVD players and such.

Well worth the money if you're a serious gamer.

  4. This is my second LCD HDTV to use with my HTPC for games/movies/web browsing/etc. I upgraded to this set for the 1080p resolution. My previous Samsung LCD also had dead pixels... this one had none!

While 1920x1080 resolution is a beautiful thing, you MUST tweak the settings after hooking it up to your PC.

First, press "View mode" on your remote and enable "Dot By Dot." This will eliminate overscan and fuzzy text.

You'll also want to decrease the sharpness, unless you enjoy looking at JPEG compression artifacts. Hit "MENU" and change it to -5 for optimal viewing.

I also recommend flipping open the bottom portion of the remote and using "GAME" AV MODE... it's much easier on the eyes when you're sitting right in front of it.

This LCD is a solid buy and I am not disappointed.

  5. This TV is wonderful. The picture is so clean and sharp. It is a very good investment. I also have a 42-inch and a 32-inch HDTV Sharp LCD 1080p
Very easy to install, and packaged very well

  1. This is the real deal. Nothing else in this price range comes even close.I have mine hooked up to Direct TV HD. Landscapes colors are perfect. Peoples skin tones are spot on. The sharpest resolution I have ever viewed. Easy to hook up. The THX certification seems to have raised the bar for all other sets. For those trying to decide between LCD and Plasma don't let the issues about distrations from the reflection of objects on real glass scare you. I have a well lighted living room with lots of indirect light and glare is not a factor. The picture seems very natural and organic as compared to the synthetic look of LCD. The speakers and audio are better than average but not exceptional. Perhaps Panasonic will someday combine a THX certified sound system with the THX certified monitor. Swivel stand is a nice feature for no extra money. Very, very satisfied.

  2. The 46PZ800U is everything I was hoping for in a HDTV. Beautiful picture, easy to hook things up to, and a great looking addition to my living room. The size was perfect for a long narrow room (17x11.5). The CEVA delivery people assembled the stand and then placed it in its permanent location, had me connect my HD cable box to it. (yes I was excited about getting the TV. Got the HD cable box 2 days ahead of time, Blu-ray player and HD dvd player were sitting here waiting along with the cables to hook them up)We tested the TV and then when everything was working they asked for my signature. Overall the whole experience was great and I would reccomend Amazon as a Wonderful way to get a new Panasonic TV. PS price on Amazon was over $300. better than any other price I saw for this model.either in store circulars or on-line. Last, I chose this model mainly because of the over 5000 gradients of color, the single sheet of glass construction, and the THX certification.

  3. I bought the Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ800U 46" 1080p Plasma HDTV because of the THX certification and the reviews on cnet, I was not disappointed. The picture is highly adjustable, but the four preset options are very good for watching different inputs. For example when you select the game input it automatically increases the brightness and color, for watching BR movies it gives you a warmer setting. The only disappointing part was the delivery. The delivery guys were dirty, leaving marks on the floor and walls. They didn't know if they were supposed to attach the stand, and when they decided it was necessary they did not seem to take great care with the TV. In the end everything worked great.

  4. This TV is superb. HD images are amazingly clear, and the color is awesome!

When I was looking to buy an HDTV, I was worried about how bad standard def images would look. SD images looked pretty bad on a lot of the HDTVs I had seen. However, this TV does a fine job cleaning up SD images, and I don't notice any artifacting unless I'm only 3 or 4 feet from the TV. This is pretty important, because a lot of programming is still only available in standard definition.

This TV also has great sound. I know that's not something you normally look for in a TV. However, I live in an apartment, and I don't plan on getting a kickin' sound system anytime soon, because I don't want to disturb my neighbors. The speakers on this TV perform nicely instead, and the bass is pretty dang good.

    Overall: highly recommended.

  5. I purchased this TV about a month ago and I was holding off on my review because I wanted to break in the set first (yes, you should still break in plasmas in spite of what the manufacturers say). I am at about 250 hours on the set, and I have to say that it is the most realistic looking picture that I have seen in a flat panel. I would even put it right up there with the Pioneer Kuros. Fleshtones are incredible and there is no oversaturation of colors. I simply used the THX mode and made basic adjustments using the DVE calibration disk on Blu Ray.

I had initially purchased a Samsung LN46A650 LCD. I liked the set but I just felt that it wasn't quite as sharp as my Samsung 42 inch 720p plasma. Also the colors were a touch too oversaturated. Amazon returned the set with no hassle and delivered the Panasonic in its place.

Initially the Panasonic also did not look quite as sharp as my 42 inch Samsung although the picture was less noisy. However, right around 200 hours or so, the picture really sharpened up. Now that the set has some hours on it, the picture is just amazing! The only other set that I have seen with a better picture (and not by much)is a 60 inch Kuro. The only thing that the Kuros have over this Panasonic is that they are a touch sharper.

This Panasonic is a phenominal buy if color decoding and a realistic picture is most important to you. If you're looking for a panel that has a bright, punchy picture with colors that are slightly cartoonish but that pop, go with the Samsung LN46A650 lcd.

PROS: Phenominal color decoding, incredibly realistic looking picture, fantastic price
CONS: Picture could be just a touch sharper, speakers are mediocre

  1. I've had this TV for a week. Hooked it up to a Comcast HD/DVR via HDMI. HD channels are spectacular as you would expect. Seems to do a good job with SD channels. Black levels seem perfectly fine to me. Overall design is very attractive with hidden speakers and a simple thin chrome strip across the bottom and a light that glows red when in standby and blue when on. Sound quality is very good for a TV. Picture quality was pretty good out of the box. I did reduce the backlighting and red a bit. Liked that it has both a USB and VGA input in this price range. Got it for $1215. Photo viewing is good. Can play background music and slide shows from folders on the USB drive. The remote says its universal, but I cannot get it to work with the Comcast box or my Toshiba DVD. Did get my Comcast remote to work with the TV so not really a problem. No regrets. Would buy this again.

  2. I just purchased this TV from Circuit City on sale yesterday for $1099. Right out of the box, the picture was fantastic. I did tweak it a little--brought the brightness up a bit and the color down at bit, and it looks really good now. I have Time-Warner HD service connected via an HDMI cable--it's awesome. The black levels seem very good to me, and the clarity of the picture is excellent. The non-HD channels are very clear too, but obviously not as good as HD. I have the audio runnning via a digital optical cable to my Sony receiver. I did test the speakers on the TV itself--OK sound--not gonna rumble your living room, but that doesn't matter to me because I will never use them.
So, in conclusion, LG has a fine product here--look at this one compared to Sony or Samsung--it is just as good or maybe even better in my opinion, because you'll save yourself $300-$500 over the price of those models.

5 comments about Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR4 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV.
  1. I shopped around for over a year before I made my decision to buy the Sony. It was always more expensive than the other televisions in the 52 inch size range, but to my eye it always looked the best. I have had this set since March 2008, simply becuase I wanted to give ample time before leaving any sort of review.

In short, this television is hands down the best I could have bought for the money spent. Since there are a myriad of options to tweak the picture, I found some extremely helpful calibration tips at [...] that make the blacks very deep, and the colors vibrant. I currently use this television with my PS3 connected via HDMI, my TWCable HD DVR STB connected via component and optical cable, and my XBOX 360 connected via component and optical cables. The SD programming from the cable box looks ok, but it really shines with the HD content, especially Discovery HD, which broadcasts exclusively in 1080p. Blu-Ray, of course, looks amazing, although I must say that I opt to leave the 120hz Motion Flow option off when watching movies as it detracts from the graininess that, IMHO, gives film its soul. On the other hand, it works wonders for nature programs (EHEM, Planet Earth). Given the amount of reviews already here, I'm not going to go into detail as to why I love this television so much and just say that I agree with all the kudos that this set has garnered from all the other owners.

The only real issue I had with this set was with dead pixels early on. About five weeks after purchase (Fry's Electronics, in-store pick up), I noticed a little cluster of dead pixels in the lower left corner of the panel. This was nothing serious as it wasn't in the direct viewing area of the screen, but I was still perturbed simply because I spent so much on the set. After a call to Sony customer service they directed me to 3 different Sony certified repair shops, one of which I called and explained my situation. They sent a repair man out to look at it that week and he verified that it was a bad panel. He called Sony from my living room, verified the problem, and had a new panel ordered within ten minutes. Unfortunately the 52 inch panels were on back order (because apparently dead pixels are a common issue from the Sharp plant because of faulty adhesive between the panel cover and the liquid crystal)so it took almost a month for my panel to come in. Once it arrived the repair shop called and scheduled a day to come and replace my tv. The gentlemen were extremely professional and the work only took about 40 minutes. This was almost three weeks ago, and my television looks absolutely gorgeous. I admit that I was bugged with this whole situation, but given the way it was taken care of I can let it go.

All in all, I know three other people who own this very same tv, and we are all in agreeance that it blows all other LCD televisions of this size out of the water. In fact, I loved this TV so much that I bought the KDL-32XBR6 for the bedroom. Great product from a company who knows quality. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would, even given the issue with pixels, recommend this set to anyone looking to upgrade from a CRT or simply go to a bigger LCD.

Oh, and on a side note. This set looks much better when mounted on a wall. I kept mine on the included base for a few months, but then decided to hang it since a) my little 19 month old kept touching the panel, and b) it's a little wobbly when the securing strap (provided) isn't used. I found a great deal on a wall-mounting kit at [...] (where I also bought all my HDMI cables) and it works great. Just FYI.

  2. I recently made my biggest purchase ever from Amazon---a sony XBR4 lcd. I was worried that it may be damaged in shipment, but FED EX did a great job! There wasn't a scratch on the box.

The TV is amazing and lives up to it's high CR rating. I bought an lcd because our room has plenty of windows and lcd's do better in well lit rooms.

The HD picture is awesome thru Direct TV satelite. As you can surmise,I have been well pleased with this purchase.

  3. I have had this unit for about 3 months now, loved it so far, great pictures, easy to use. 480i pictures actually looks better on this TV than any other televisions I have seen. Yesterday however, I noticed a strip of vertical line on the dead center of the TV that spans from the top to the bottom. It has to be a few pixels wide because I can see it from 25 feet away. So, I called the customer service number listed on the menu, they are going to send an authorized repair person to get it checked out. I am happy with the service, but not happy with the investment choice I made. I paid twice as much for this TV thinking I will not have to go through these product defects.
I will update this post after the authorized personal from Sony looks at it on July 1st.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Got a call from the Sony authorized dealer, they are ordering the LCD panel, will arrive in about two weeks.

  4. After dealing with a "less-than-reputable" dealer online for the Sony XBR, I decided to go with Amazon's source for my 52" Sony XBR4. I got a very fair price and excellent delivery service. Communication about the status was excellent and they delivered the TV in a timely manner. The TV is just breathtaking. I purchased a 50" Sony plasma TV years ago and am amazed by the technological improvements in picture quality in just a couple of years. The picture quality and detail are so sharp that it almost looks 3D up on that large 52" screen. Again, I have no regrets going with the Sony knowhow.

  5. Love this TV. Excellent HDTV video quality. Very good Standard picture (not many TVs of this size can do that). Initial TV configuration is not very straight forward, but once figured - picture is amazing. I wish all Sony products to be like that.

  1. I have the 22 inch version of this model line (Samsung LN-22A330) for my bedroom, and am VERY impressed. The picture quality is fantastic, and it has settings where you can fine tune the settings for individual channels.

I have it on every morning for the news while I'm getting ready for work, and every night as I wind down and fall asleep (very appreciative of the person who first installed sleep timers on TVs).

I like everything about this unit, including the "tools" function on the remote for the most-used items in my house (including the sleep functions). There are "fun" settings, too...where you can choose not only your energy savings level, but also what type of image you're watching...a "movie" versus reg tv....it deepens the color beautifully without actually changing the colors.

The only item I find disconcerting is the sheer amount of time it takes to respond to turning the unit 'on'. Once you hit Power, just ignore it and ...................................................THEN you'll hear the tones turning it on (tones may be set at different volumes and even turned off if you poke around in the menu long enough to find it).

Given time, I'll certainly get used to the amount of time it is, but for now it's bothersome as there is no other indicator that you actually hit the button correctly (the light on the power button on the tv doesn't flash at first, nothing).

If I needed to replace this 22" unit for some reason, I'd buy the same model again in a heartbeat. Very pleased with Samsung's 330 line. Excellent value for the price for a bedroom tv.

  2. no complaints except that the volume on this TV can be a little too low.

  1. I love this tv. It has a great picture and simple to use. I compared to many other brands samsung has the best picture functions easy to use.

  2. Yesterday i went to Best buy to purchase wireless router and i said to my friend, lets go see if they have my TV! Sure enough, they had the same tv for $1000 more!! Same model, same everything. Best buy is a rip off. I told a co-worker about my TV and its sensational picture and the price reduction Amazon was offering and he went and bought the same TV!

Im going to be straight with you! You are interested in this TV, you are thinking to yourself, this seems risky.. Its a lot of money and AMAZON? Is it wise to order a TV from AMAZON?!?! I will tell YOU, next time i buy a TV, it will be from AMAZON! sensational service, and savings.

Now about the TV. Absolutely stunning. I was watching the ATL Braves with the 120hz on high and i could see nats around the batter, bugs and flys all over the field. A friend of mine said, "this is unbelievable, i wonder if my TV can see these bugs."

I had a "men-den" aka "man-room" party the other day to watch sports, drink beer and what-not. During half time, someone said to me, "Whats so special about this TV? High definition is just a hype-trend."... "GASP.." said my friends... i looked at my buddy and he said, "show him..." I knew what he was telling me to do. I switched inputs to my blue ray player, pulled out the infamous PLANET EARTH and pressed play. The rest of the night we watch the clearest picture known to man. After the night was over, my friend whispered to me, "You proved your point... Now, where can i get this TV?"

    -C

  3. This TV was beautiful for 7 months, then it died. The Geek squad has been out a few times replacing one part at a time trying to figure out the problem. In the meantime, I'm out both a TV and $3000.00. Thank God I at least bought the extended protection, even though they don't seem to know what they're doing. Honestly, if you pay $3000.00 for a TV, it should last a little longer than 7 months. Samsung, no thanks...I'll try Sony or something else next time.

  4. This TV really change my viewing ecperience its me me wow. it look really great even just looking at it i must say one og =f the bes designed in town.
so far no dead pixex work very flowlessly.

  5. I never regrets this purchase, though it is too early to say what it would be in the long run. I had an extensive research before going for this product within my budget. though the item was from the warehouse, it had all it's new look and also it came with new literature.

5 comments about Samsung FPT5094W 50-Inch 1080p Wireless Plasma HDTV.
  1. This is the first W-HDMI product I have ever seen actually in the market. It uses 802.11n for the wireless link. The video quality while not perfect is actually pretty good. One observation is their is not ANY connectors on the main Flat Panel Display unit. If for some reason you actually wanted to connect an HDMI, Component Video or any Audio / Video device directly to the Flat panel you would not be able to.

  2. The picture is beautiful and with the wireless box, connecting and removing equipment is extremely easy without having to move the main screen. Color representations are rich and true. Very happy with this television. It was a little scary being on the cutting edge with this technology but its been more than worth it. Also makes a very attractive piece of furniture.

  3. I had a few reservations like others who have reviewed this product, but after having it in my home for a week, I am completely sold on this remarkable TV. All inputs for this television are in the set top box that broadcasts the video signal, the only cord you need to attach to the television is the power cord. The picture is stunning in HD and almost as great with digital and analog broadcasts. There are enough user settings built-in to satisfy demanding videophiles and still easy enough to use for your average technophobe. Works like a champ with all my other A/V equipment, too. I can't see any degradation in the picture due to the wireless connection. In comparing televisions in retail outlets this Samsung had a better picture than almost any other set available right now. My reservations about getting something so advanced have been completely laid to rest. This is the way television was meant to be. It cost a little more than what I planned to spend when I started looking, but it turns out it was worth the extra expense and more. What else can I say, I love this television!

  4. If you are looking for a beautiful picture and sound, flexibility in placement, and WOW factor don't look past the Samsung FPT5094W.

Purchased this TV at the end of June after having little luck finding much on the web other than the 4 reviews here on Amazon. After I placed my order I did find 5 reviews on Bestbuy for the 58" version of this TV which caused me to experience buyer's remorse while waiting for my TV to arrive. I'm happy to report that within an hour of the TV arriving and being setup, all regrets were quickly replaced with joy. The picture on the set is beautiful. I own 3 Panasonic plasmas in the 37" to 42" range and the picture is easily equal to if not better. HD programming pops on the Samsung and during a 4th of July party we recieved comments from at least 30 people about how beautiful the picture was.

Now the best part. The wireless capabilities are incredible and allowed us to hang the TV over our fireplace which is on the opposite wall from our outlets. We have our DirecTV HD DVR, OTA HDTV antenna and PS3 connected to the wireless AV unit stored away in a wooden cabinet approximately 17 feet from the TV. Everything works like a charm...even with the doors closed. Being cable free except for the power cord provides the ultimate in flexibility and looks. We have experienced no issues with picture or sound quality with the wireless capabilities. I have played games like MotorStorm and Resistance Fall of Man on the PS3 with output set to 1080P and everything looked and sounded perfect. Personally I think the reviews on BestBuy were written by installers who are scared that this technology will take a bite out of their profits. If I could make one improvement, it would be to allow any input in the picture-in-picture. Currently it is limited to OTA antenna.

If you are looking for a beautiful picture and sound, flexibility in placement, and WOW factor don't look past the Samsung FPT5094W.

  5. I just got this TV delivered to me today. A couple of pros: This is the nicest looking flat screen TV I have seen. The picture and sound are both fantastic, and I haven't even gone HD on it yet. However, within 30 minutes of owning it, I noticed a few problems.

    1. That little box in the picture where you plug in all your cables? I didn't realize that thing is the size of a cable box or DVD player. This is obviously my fault for not realizing the perspective of it in the picture, but I'm sure others will make the same mistake. I thought I'd be able to tuck it away somewhere. No can do. I've actually decided to put the TV on top of it, cause it is actually as wide or wider than the stand, contrary to what the picture would have you believe.

    2. This TV doesn't have a game mode because it is wireless. The wireless transmission to the TV causes a slight delay in seeing what you just did on your video game. For example, I have a Wii. After I roll a bowling ball down the lane, it takes about one second for me to see and hear it on the TV. So I need to move my Wii to my old TV, which is disappointing. This brings me to problem 3.

    3. You can plug just about anything into the wireless box, including an external hard drive through which you can pull up MP3's and photos on the TV, which is awesome, but you can't plug anything into the actual TV except the power cable, so there's just no way to solve the gaming problem. I bought it without planning to hang it on the wall. Other than the fact that it comes with a stand, it is completely meant to be hung on a wall.

    4. You kind of have to mash the buttons on the remote for a while before it does what you wanted. You can't just tap a button and the channel changes. You have to really get after it. I get the feeling that it's having to communicate back and forth with the box to get things done. This will probably be solved when I get a comcast box, but I'll still experience a delay.

Other than those issues, it rocks. But if you're a gamer, I'd get a non-wireless LCD.

  1. I have had this TV for about 6 months now, and I have been very happy with it. My only complaint would be that to change sources you have to cycle through all of them. There is a way to select them through the main menu, but it takes you just as long to get to that menu as it does to cycle through them.

I thought glare would be an issue since it is installed in a room with a patio door, but I rarely notice the glare. The glare is significantly less noticeable than the CRT it replaced. The CRT used to drive me crazy. I think the flat screen coupled with a tilting wall mount is a big reason for the difference.

Sometimes it seems to have a slightly greenish tint to the picture, but I think that is mostly associated with the source. I only notice it every now and then.

I do worry sometimes about burn-in, but I have not had any issues yet. I don't treat it very special (watch shows in letterbox & with side bars regularly), but I am conscious about not over-doing it and I try to vary things. I would say I'm only slightly more careful than I was with the CRT.

Overall, I'm glad I did not buy an LCD instead. At the time I got this I would have had to pay about $600 more for an LCD with similar performance.

I sit about 8 feet from the screen, and I think it is a perfect size. In some scenes you actually feel like you are flying.

  2. I love this Television. The picture is great, everything is great EXCEPT the sound. For some reason Sampsung put the speakers on the side, so that its way louder in the room next to where i have my TV. This isn't that big of a deal for me, but it is for people watching TV in the room over. If you put this tv in a spot where its not near another open room with a tv it will be fine. But other than that i love this tv and great price on amazon. Also amazon shipped it extreemly well, the last TV i ordered online, not through amazon.com, came broken.

  3. We've had this TV for nearly 6 months now, and I love it. The picture quality is great.....it accurately reproduces the signal that is sent to it.....and that is one thing to keep in mind. If you just play standard definition stuff on it, you just get standard definition pictures, albeit very large.

But if you send it HD video, it looks great! The set looks good, and the image looks good as well.

It was easy to set up, and the swivel stand the TV comes with is decent. We wall mounted ours after a couple of weeks (the wall mount was delayed.....not thru Amazon). Just remember it does take 2 people to wall mount a TV this large.

The shipping through Amazon's carrier was good. It showed sooner than anticipated. The carrier called to schedule a delivery time, and they hit that time right on the nose.

There are 2 tiny downside issues...but I believe them to be common to all large plasma screens. The sounds is not all that great, but frankly, if you're going to install a TV this big, make sure you also run the sound through a seperate sound system. That's the only way to get a real home theater experience. Also, the TV gets pretty warm........but that's a function of plasma technology.

All in all, this is a great TV with a stunning picture, at a pretty reasonable price.

  4. I have always been a huge fan of Amazon, but this was a terrible experience. I purchased this TV on the Amazon site, but the actual seller was Butterfly Photo. The price of the product was good, although I think the $200 shipping fee is far too high. The TV was delivered after setting a time and date to do so, but $200 only gets the TV into the front entry of your home, and not even an extra 20 feet to the family room where I intended to put the TV. $200 also does not get you your TV unpacked, or the box hauled away. Nothing. You get the TV dropped immediately inside your front door and that's it. So I had to unpack it, get it into the family room by myself, haul away the box (which is enormous, but which also does break down) and wait till someone else came and helped me lift the TV onto the stand. The set up was easy.
The picture was great--for one month. Then on three consecutive days the picture would go black, all sound would go off, and the power light would come on and off repeatedly. I wrote to Amazon, which said--"contact the seller." I contacted the seller which said "we don't take returns, you need to call Samsung." I called Samsung and they gave me a reference number and a phone number to call for a service dealer. I called the service dealer which put me on hold for twenty minutes, then disconnected me. I then called back and the service dealer denied having a reference number for me. Then they found it. Finally I spoke with someone who was pleasant and helpful who scheduled an appointment for a service call. At the appointed time a very nice fellow arrived to fix the tv, opened the box with a new power source in it (which had been shipped by Samsung to the service dealer), and discovered that the box contained the wrong power source. Another week passed before he was able to come back with the right power source and the TV has been fine for the last three days.
This power problem is apparently so common that both the troubleshooting manual and the Samsung web site refer to the symptoms which my TV displayed. After suggesting such helpful tips as unplugging the TV and letting it sit for a minute before plugging it back in, the final "tip" is "The TV is using its power management system." That's it. The TV may be using its power management system, but it's using it to go black and lose sound. There's no description telling you what that means, or how to deal with it. Instead, you first write to Amazon, then to the seller, then call Samsung, then get hung up on....You get the picture (so to speak.) Next time, I'll spend the extra money to deal with a local retailer. The TV does have a really nice picture though, which is why it gets two stars instead of just one.

  5. The TV ROCKS!!! No more to say here! One of the top ten HDTV's of 2007 according to cnet and I agree.

A small glitch with the company contracted to deliver it. As other reviewers have stated, be proactive and call the company early and often to make sure no delivery issues exist. That said, once the issue was resolved (a data entry error that started with Amazon actually) the tv was delivered professionally with free white glove delivery. I never thought I would spend so much money on a tv on Amazon but I have to admit, they had the best price and included free white glove delivery so I went for it and haven't regretted it.
