- This is a good product, but being that i am a old school Sony product user the one feature that i really miss on their new dvd/cd players is RANDOM PLAY MODE come on, would it have cost Sony a whole lot of money to include this feature on this latest dvd/cd players 5 dics models instead i had to buy the 300 Mega Storage model to get this feature, but what about those of us who still like the 5 disc carousel model with random play? have we been kicked to the curb.? I mean come on a player without random play is like Popcorn without the butter something is missing badly missing. So if you guys at Sony read this please put this back in your players O'RANDOM PLAY WHERE FORTH ART THOU?
Ted
- I bought this as part of a home theater system. I'm not an audiophile and don't watch TV, just a movie or two each week. I like the 5 disc carousel because it allows me to play about a week's worth of Christmas music from MP3s burned to discs. My old CD carousel won't do MP3s.
The remote didn't work out of the box. Many functions are only available on the remote, so this isn't exactly a minor problem. I sent it back immediately.
In return for my brand new DVD player, Sony sent me a "factory refurbished" unit...no other options. Now I first got a "factory refurbished" something back in the 1970s. That one was obviously broken before it was packaged for resale. I have NEVER had a "factory refurbished" unit that worked properly, and this DVD player was no exception.
The used one they sent me worked about as badly as the new one. My ancient Panasonic was working fine, so I just hooked up the Sony to play said MP3s at Christmas. I eventually learned that the Panasonic does not like DVD-Rs very well, so I sent the Sony back for repair a second time. It came in two weeks ago. Absolutely no difference.
I called Sony and they said they would send me a shipping label (it had cost me over $40 so far to ship a unit that is retailing today for $110). A week later I called Sony and the guy said he would e-mail the shipping label "right now." I called back the next day, was put on hold, and then disconnected. When I finally got through, I would not let the guy off the phone until the label hit my e-mail inbox.
I will wait for the unit to be returned (Sony's turnaround is quite good) and see if it works. I won't bother with it any more if it doesn't -- just not worth it. But I will certainly never buy another Sony product.
Oh, by the way: the "universal remote" that came with the home theater system? It's defective, too. Operates the tuner/amp but cannot be programmed to operate anything else.
- I bought this player to replace my old 5 cd carousel changer. For me it was a bonus feature to have DVD playback. Sony's priority is the DVD playback, not CDs. My favorite function on my old component was the "all disc shuffle" function, which was also a button on the component (no TV needed for the display). This one can only shuffle within one disc, but I don't see the point in that. I also don't like where the remote sensor is because I have to leave the door open to my entertainment center to use the remote. This defeats the purpose of a closed door that keeps little hands away from the equipment and media.
- I bought this player for two reasons. If you enjoy music, having to constantly feed a CD tray becomes a little irritating. Don't overlook the convenience of a multi-disk player. Just load it up and it plays for hours. I also wanted a player that would upsample standard DVDs to my 1080p television. This feature works flawlessly. On most movies from 8-10 feet away it is hard to tell the difference from the output of my Sony Blu-Ray player I bought afterwards (I hate to admit this, but it's true). I've had no malfunctions with this player. The only thing that bothers me is the build of the CD tray itself. It seems a little flimsy, but the general build of the player is solid and the case is actually metal. I am very satisfied with this product.
- I have had this unit for just about two months now. Video is fine from the DVDs. I am not quite the A/V connoisseur as some reviewers are - I'm significantly less discriminating. But it looks as good to me as any I have seen. I don't generally use it for anything else - just watching DVDs, though it does claim to play a lot of other types of disk. The things that I dislike about this DVD player are as follows:
1) The unit is extremely slow. Powering on, and especially when starting any DVD. It says "loading..." for much longer than any other DVD player I have used. Perhaps this is required in a unit that plays very high quality, but to me it is just annoying. Some DVDs take 30 seconds or more just to load and show anything at all. Too long in my opinion!
2) Another reviewer mentioned how difficult it is to see the numbers of the slots when the tray is open - and that's an understatement! Maybe it is these "old eyes" of mine, but where my entertainment center is there is no direct light shining down, and I can't tell what number is next to the slots in the tray without shining a pocket flashlight on it. No exaggeration - that is the truth! Also each slot number is between two slots and I have mistaken which slot I used on more than one occasion.
3) The remote control is terrible. I mean really bad! Thin and light, I will give it credit for at least having all the necessary buttons in logical places in the remote. (The Panasonic HT-830 I just trashed had the absolute worst layout for a remote I have ever seen. NO Open/close Tray button on top, but instead it was listed in the middle of its 100+ buttons and required a SHIFT press!). The Sony remote for this player for some reason requires that I press every button twice. Changed batteries 3 times and I am only 7 feet away, but it literally takes two presses for each button. Also it is not universal - can't control any other device.
While this is certainly a good player as far as the "neat" features it has - especially being able to swap out DVDs with the tray open WHILE you are watching another DVD - that's a killer feature that I love called Exchange! But the not-so-great remote and the excruciatingly SLOW loading times costs it 2 stars, and give this player a grand total of 3 stars.
For the price, though, it is a good deal.

2 comments about Sony DVP-NC800H/S HDMI/SACD/CD Progressive Scan 5-Disc DVD Changer, Silver.
- Hopefully this review will help clear up some confusing things which first-time HDTV owners may face.
I am a first-time HDTV buyer who recently purchased my first medium-level, 32" HDTV (720p, but can receive 1080i). When I first got the T.V. I planned on seeing exceptional visuals for my cable and for my DVD movies. I knew that an HD signal would be needed to truly see an HD quality picture, however, I quickly got frustrated to see that both standard DVDs and regular reception from my basic cable looked pretty pathetic even compared to a standard T.V. This HDTV I purchased looked great in the store, so I knew there was something going on I didn't understand, so here's a quick sample of what I learned and how it relates to this DVD upconverter.
All of my DVDs are standard (not Blu-Ray or HD DVD). Using a standard Sony DVD player on my HDTV the picture from DVDs was not good. Color was excellent, but the clarity was not good and the resolution looked poor and had a very 'blocky' look (jaggies). At this point the DVDs actually looked better on a standard TV. Cable reception looked equally bad on the HDTV.
Another issue is that when watching a widescreen movie on a 16x9 TV the image will be bigger since the aspect ratio on the 16x9 TV can handle more of the widescreen image. So, on top of the standard DVD having less resolution than a HDTV reproduces, that low-res picture is also being enlarged to fill a 16x9 screen, and as like what happens with the cable, because the HDTV reproduces an excellent image, all the imperfections of a non-HD signal (for both cable and standard DVDs) are in a way being magnified and look worse than on a standard unit.
I learned that as far as cable goes, the picture will not look very good unless you have HD through your cable provider (and you are watching an HD broadcast of course). Digital cable channels look decent...somewhere between standard cable and HD. As for playing movies, obviously if you have an HD DVD or a Blu-Ray player you are not going to have an issue with those formats.
Even though I planned on signing up for HD stations through my cable I almost took back the HDTV because I have a lot of regular DVDs and wasn't planning to upgrade to Blu-Ray anytime soon. Watching my DVDs the way they were looking from my standard DVD player was not good enough. That's when I looked into an upconverting DVD player (specifically this one).
Now, I have read a lot of articles and reviews with people saying that upconverters don't work and others saying it will look just as good as HD or Blu-Ray and both are wrong. After hooking up the upconverter to the HDTV (which was very simple with a HDMI cable and running the 'quick setup') I was watching my DVDs again and was more than pleased and was more than thrilled with the results. For the $120 for a Sony upconverter, it exceeded my expectations (which are pretty high).
With the upconverter, my DVDs looked great on the new HDTV. I personally felt that they looked better at 1080i (which my TV will accept) than 720p which is my TV's native resolution. But this may be a matter of taste/preference. I would say with the upconverter the standard DVDs looked much better than they looked on standard TV, and of course the size of the 16x9 screen makes them come alive even more.
Is the picture with the upconverter as good as a HD DVD or Blu-Ray disc? No. Is it much better than watching a standard DVD on a standard TV? Absolutely. It really is a perfect in-between if you have quite a library of DVDs and don't plan on doing the Blu-Ray thing for a while, and you will still get a better picture from the DVDs than watching them on a standard TV.
In conclusion, while I can only vouch for the specific unit I am writing this review on, I would highly recommend an upconverter without reservation if you find yourself in a similar situation where you have quite a few standard DVDs and are thinking about getting or have already bought a HDTV and are upset by standard DVDs not looking good when being played on a regular DVD player.
I would like to point out however that most Blu-Ray players (at least most Sony ones) also will upconvert your standard DVDs, so if you are considering a Blu-Ray player but worried about not being able to play your standard DVDs, not only isn't that an issue, but Sony players I have read up on will also upconvert DVDs for the HDTV (but please check to make sure that the model you are looking at does have upconversion and check to what level is upconverts to (1080i or 1080p)).
Hope this helps anyone who is a little confused as I was on their first HDTV experience.
As a side note: Some have complained about upconverters not being CD-friendly and I would agree with this in general; the loading tray is somewhat slow, and on some models you can not open the changer tray without stopping play on the current disc. If you are into changing music discs frequently I would recommend getting a separate CD changer just for music discs and then using the upconverter only for movies. This is what I do and it has been perfect and is why I still give this unit 5 stars as an upconverter.

2 comments about PHILIPS - ALL REGION 1080i UPSCALING HI-DEF MULTI FORMAT DIVX CERTIFIED DVD PLAYER. PLAYS PAL/NTSC DVDS FROM ANY COUNTRY ON AMERICAN TV(BLACK)..
- I am using this item for over 4 months now.
All region DVDs play perfect and the picture quality is just great.
It was 4 months after that I found out that there's a problem playing music CDs.
A small noise comes out with the music CD. Some kind of distorted noise.
I played the same music with Blu-Ray player and it didn't happened.
I think there's some kind of collition happeneing when I play music CDs.
Be aware about that.
I am buying a 6 CD player because of this problem.
- This is a top-notch DVD player for those whose tastes in movies goes beyond what is currently being offered by US companies. I personally hate to be at the mercy of what companies think I should or should not be able to watch, and am really pleased to find such an excellent region-free player.
So far, it has handled all my DVDs with no problem. Region 2 Japanese DVDs? Plays great. Region 2 PAL DVD from the Netherlands? No problems. (A real shame that Orson Wells classic "Falstaff" does not have a US release, but that just shows why a region-free player is necessary.)
Aside from DVDs, this player handles CDs, DivX and everything else I have popped into it. It even has a USB port, so if you download anything you can just pop it into a Flash memory stick and watch it on this player.
Sadly, I haven't used the upscaling function yet, because I don't have an HD TV yet. But if it works as well as everything else has on this player, then I assume I have nothing to worry about, and am looking forward to being able to try it out.

- Oh My WORD!!! This unit is GARBAGE!! DOA!!!
We just received this unit yesterday from Sears and
It ate two video tapes. It shut off when we turned it on. It repeatedly ejected the tapes and made some weird noise{{UGGGH}}
Now I have to pay to have it shipped back to Sears because there isn't a store in my area and customer service told me it would take WEEKS before they can have UPS come and pick the unit up!!
At least if I would've purchased it from Amazon, it could've been easily returned at no cost to me.
Like Judge Marilyn Milian loves to say 'The cheap comes out expensive'
Don't be a sucker like me. AGAIN, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
- We mostly liked this product for the first 3 1/2 months -- which cooresponds to the length of time it worked for us. I see others have experienced Sylvania Sudden Death Syndrome even sooner than we did. For the sake of the environment, avoid this product. It will just take up landfill space.
Now to see if we can get my son's brand new DVD (Christmas gift from Grandma) out of the piece of junk before we have its body committed.
- This player works well. I have two issues with it. 1.) the width is wider than 19" called out in the specs, not much wider, just enough to make it not fit in my entertainment center 19" opening. 2.) the remote is complicated, and not conventional. All works well, but you don't get what you don't pay for. I wanted an inexpensive unit as not to wear out the Sony DVD Recorder, and play VHS tapes. That is what I got, and I am happy with it.
- Unhappy can't begin to describe my feelings towards this product. First, the dvd player died. It made a puttering noise after I took out a dvd I had just watched and that was the end. A few days later, the entire machine died. I couldn't turn it on and it ate a tape. Never will I buy Sylvania again.
- Although I am 'electronically challenged' when I called the help number the whiz-kid on the other end of the phone know precisely what was going on just by telling him what appeared on the screen. The machine plays perfectly whenever I use it.

- I really loved this player however it doesnt play while charging, which isnt a great concern since it has a long battery durability, headphones are not included, not a great concern again since it has the jacks and you can purchase that, what bothered me the most is that IT DOESNT HAVE SKIP PROTECTION!!
- This is GREAT DivX player. Phillips seem to be the best at this. Yes it is a little noisy at startup but this is because it is reading COMPRESSED files (DivX format and Mpeg4) and is normal and goes away once the movie starts. I get 6 movies (DivX) on a standard DVD so this is why i choose this player. The battery life is AMAZING and the screen is great. The sound also seems fine to me. I wouldnt buy anything different for my DivX movies. It is also easy to unlock to region-free as i watch a lot of UK movies. Another excellent point is that it will play all my music files (mp3) on a DVD. Be careful as most players will not recognise mp3's on a DVD only on CD so check before you buy! I had not realised this before. I now have around 100 of my CD's in mp3 format and record them onto a single DVD so i never have to change the disc on a drive from East coast to West coast!(I work all over USA). I then plug the DVD player into my truck sound system and use the remote to change tracks etc. Great buy!
- Item came quickly. Packaged well and has all components. Does have a lot of scratches on the cover but the inside looks great. The picture is great but as other people have reviewed on amazon about this item, it is loud when you turn it on and while the dvd gets ready to play and while it's turning off.
- This is my second portable dvd player, my first was an akai 7" which lasted about a year then suddenly stopped working.
This portable dvd player is everything I expected and more. I've had it for at least a year and haven t experienced any major problems yet.
The main feature I was looking for was a multi-regional player which this wasn't but the region-free hack from a previous review fixed that problem and now I can watch all regions of dvd.
It s definitely a great idea to buy a big-brand portable dvd player (eg sony, philips, samsung etc) rather than a random low budget brand - it's worth the cost.
PROS:
Beautiful looks.
Decent display, not as great as i had hoped though...
Long battery life.
Plays many different video and audio files.
Nice remote, with many features.
The included headphones were surprisingly amazing quality!
Includes case.
Worth what you pay.
CONS:
No fast-forward and rewind buttons on the player, but on the remote.
Flimsy disk drawer.
Great sound with headphones, below-average sound without.
Fairly scratch-sensitive, unlike some other portable dvd players.
Whirring sound when disk is loading, but stops when it s playing.
It s very tempting to stop the disk before it stops spinning but I suggest you don t, I think it messes up the player...
- Great quality, doesn't skip when used in the car. Great resolution, has been a life saver when traveling with the kids. Would recommend it.

5 comments about Philips DVDR3545V/37 1080p Upscaling DVDR/VCR Combo with Built-In Tuner.
- recorded our babies life onto disc from VHS using this machine . Can't play the discs we made on other any other DVD player. None!.... Can only play disc on this player! Waste of time! Poor design. very upsetting!
- I was having problems coping from tape to DVD, the DVD would only play on their machine. I tried everything burned about 7 DVD's before I decide to call tech support which was very good. It turned out you can only use either Maxell or Philips DVD's. i when out purchase Maxell's and have no problems. Other then that the machine is great.
- While I have not used all of the functions available with this unit, it does everything it claims that I have tried. It is not as easy to use as other DVD players and VCRs I have owned. Less tecnical folks will struggle operating this unit. The Documentation is sparse on the advanced functions and features.
The remote has tiny buttons, not intuitive, and is very directional.
This unit is a little pricy but appears to be a solid box for the money.
*Recommended*
- I bought this 7 months ago and fell in love with it despite the fact that my machine was defective and kept locking up on me. Customer service at Philips is great, they had me pay shipping to return the machine, then sent a new one out (a month later). This one is great. I can play "finalized" CDs on all my other players, but the chapter marks I added don't carry over. Up until now, it received my over-the-air signal in exemplary fashion, but the tuner has appeared to have given out. I could watch TV while when I had a tape stopped, could watch a tape while recording a DVD from TV, could easily dub all my VHS tapes (in real time). Philips is willing to replace my machine again now that my tuner stopped working, I just pay shipping to them. The hardest part is going without my beloved machine for a month. It's really wonderful when it's working like it should.
- Very pleased with service and product. Fast delivery and great price. item was exactly as described.

- The system is excellent! Discount Jungle is absolutely one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. They went out of their way to please me. Not only did they sell me quality merchandise, but they provided me customer support and courtesy above and beyond the norm. They give meaning to customer service. I will purchase any electronic equipment I need from them in the future.
- I purchased this unit from Discount Jungle. When it arrived, I could not find a cable input/ouput jack on the back. When I called their customer service department, the man was less than helpful & told me that I would have to pay a reshelving fee if I were to return the item. After "haggling" with the "customer service" department, they did offer to forego this reshelving fee. This purchase was not worth the hassle & aggravation. I sent it to my daughter who has her own business & deals with electronics on a daily basis. Phillips is usually a good product. I think it was the supplier. I will not purchase electronics online again.
- The delivery was very very fast, the quality of merchandise was great- only thing I didnt like was NO INVOICE was included
- If you have an old tv without the red/white/yellow inputs, you will need an external rf modulator to use this combo unit. But nothing in the Phillips literature or website mentions this. Amazon sells rf modulators, and they should cost about $20. Also, if you have a Verizon FIOS cable box, you have to place the rf modulator between the cable box and the tv. I don't know about other cable boxes. I had gotten the impression from the FIOS install guy that the cable box had to be the last element before the tv. But I couldn't see the combo unit signal until I moved the modulator "upstream". It's something particular about this combo unit. I used to have a horribly messy setup with DVD player/RF modulator/VCR/cablebox/ancient TV, and it worked fine. Now I have cablebox/RF modulator(with new combo unit input)/ancient TV. All is finally good. (I keep the ancient tv instead of buying an expensive, delicate, easily scratched/stained, tippy new model because of a young child with heavy toys, sticky fingers, and magic markers.)
- Electronics sometimes confound me and I just wanted something easy to work and of good quality so I could play my new DVDs and fav old VCRs; so I read lots of reviews on Amazon before picking this little refurbished sweetie and couldn't be more pleased. The price was good, free shipping was a bonus and the seller shipped really quickly. I hate driving around town for a bargain but I love the convenience, ease, and customer reviews on Amazon.com., so I made the choice of this Philips combo and glad I did.

5 comments about Sony HT-SS2000 Component Home Theater System for Sony Blu-Ray Players.
- Took forever to hook up with a zillion wires. Ran the auto feature. When connected to my TV only one speaker produces sound althouh all of them made sounds during the auto setup. Did not contact Sony support. Last time I did I received an answer to a question I did not ask and the solution to a problem I did not have. Apparently my problem was not listed on the cheat sheet that the Tech (yeah, right)was using.
- My wife gave me this as a birthday gift because I gave myself a 40" HDTV and I'm a huge fan of movies. BUT!!! When the package arrived, there were no BluRay logos anywhere on the box. I didn't open it but checked in amazon, and surprise: it's one of the best selling "BluRay Players" but it is just a home theater, the BD player is not included (no wonder the price).
- Save your money on this item. I thought this would work great with a new HDTV and Sony Blu-Ray. It sounds cheap and looks cheap. It has a very bad tinny sound. Save your money and buy a better system for your new DVD player.
- Great sound. Easy setup. However the name is very misleading. I thought it included a Blu-ray player but it only MATCHES the Blu-ray player that is sold seperately. I admit it was my fault and bit on the bait.
P.S. DON'T buy a Blu-ray player. Very limited unit. Spend the same amount on a Playstation 3. It can play Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs. It is also internet wireless ready and I can access Netflix online and my home computer to display pictures and video.
- MIND YOURSELF THAT THIS ITEM IS JUST A RECEIVER, IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY PLAY DISKS HOWEVER THE SOUND IS CRISP AND CLEAR, EVEN THOUGH THE SPEAKERS WERE MADE WITH TIP PLASTIC AND THE MENUS ARE CONFUSING BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE THEM ON THE TV (VIDEO OUTPUT) YOU HAVE TO CONFIGURE EVERYTHING IN THE LITTLE DISPLAY THIS SYSTEM HAS. ANYHOW IF YOU HAVE A PLAY STATION 3 TO MATCH THIS RECEIVER, WE ARE GOING TO BE HAPPY. IT WORKS FINE. MOVIES ARE CLOSE TO BE REAL (SOUND AND VIDEO) THIS ONLY IF YOU ALSO HAVE A 1080i or 1080P TV MONITOR. CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE, BUT THERE IS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENTS BY (SONY)

5 comments about Panasonic DMR-EZ37VK DVD-Recorder/VCR Combo with ATSC Tuner Black.
- The DVD/VCR Recorder has performed excellently. With its many features it offers many useful items to get great recordings. I still have more to learn which will only improve its value.
It has done everything it said it would do and what I needed it to do, plus more.
The price for the (rebuilt with warranty) Panasonic DVD-VCR Recorder was real bargain. I paid 1/2 of what I would have paid at a retail store for the same item.
Its integration with my Panasonic TV was easy and quite effective.
Wonderful picture quality. Easy programming to record various channel at various times. Easy labeling of recorded programs.
Very Pleased
- The combo would be great if it didn't come broken. I have since tried another one and it too is broken and the company that sent this one, Outlet, in L.A., sold this one to me as a brand new one and it also is broken. I cannot reach Outlet as their phone # is NO LONGER IN SERVICE. Just great! Panasonic has agreed to fix this one for me. Although I will be without it for a month while it is being fixed, I am hopeful that I will get one that works and will be able to rate it's preformance. I hear they are good. This is my only reason for trying to get one that works. I am hoping for the best.
- The downconverted video that it records doesn't look like HD, but it is a noise free, ghost free recording, which is what I expected.
Just FYI, it will not allow you to record any digital broadcast to VHS.
- Delivery was prompt and quality was like new. The unit is solid and sturdy and works fine. You may not get all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done.
- I have used the DVR daily for just over a year.
Pros:
DVD RAM format superior to +/- R
Digital Tuner
Overall features
Cons:
No HDMI on this model (some have it)
Slow (annoyingly so) to change channels
Unreliable
Prone to lock-ups requiring resets
Who should buy this unit? Avoid this unit, especially used ones.
The unit regularly crashes requiring a reset. It does this about once a month. This was okay to deal with. Just after a year of owning it the unit refused to eject a cassette I had checked out from the library. I searched the internet and found this was a common problem. I opened the DVR and manually ejected the cassette and it was fine, turned out it was a jammed cassette (I don't know why it couldn't eject it instead of throwing error codes).
A week after the cassette problem, the unit failed to eject a DVD. Same problem, looked on the internet and saw this was a fairly common problem. No electronic device should be this much fuss, especially one that cost me $280 new.

5 comments about Toshiba SD4100 DivX Compatible Single Disc DVD Player.
- When you think Toshiba, you usually think of great, solid performing products. However, this DVD player is just OK. It was very easy to install and I was playing a DVD in minutes. Though, I noticed that the machine has a slow response when you want it to do something and makes this slight clicking sound when I skipped chapters. The image quality is good and it works. It's good as a low end DVD player.
- Unfortunately, this product has flaws that can not be overlooked, and I returned the next day.
1. There is no position memory for DVD stopping, to return to your last spot of viewing, once the disc is removed. In fact, after 22 minutes in the stop mode, the player shuts down and you lose the disc position. When watching shows over several days this is a must.
2. There are several view modes to resize the screen picture, but none of them work on my widescreen TV, with this player. The 1.33:1 all stretch and fill the screen. The older 2.35:1 that are not formatted to fit the screen all remain narrow and can not be expanded or zoomed. I tried the same discs in my older Panasonic DVD player and I was able to fill the screen, shrink, etc. I tried every combination available and many discs. I use the view mode quite a bit for older TV shows and concerts on DVD.
3. The remote response is lacking and it is very small. It needs to be pointed at the player straight on. My other equipment allows remote use from any angle and even off the back wall.
I realize this is a low priced player, but the most useful options are not there or flawed. The picture quality and sound through my monster cables were quite good, but did not compensate for the flaws.
Hope this helps. j.
- I have had this DVD player for about a month now. I have had no problems. The only thing is I wish the eject button worked when the player was off. When you want to get a DVD out you have to power it on then hit the open button. Should just be able to hit the open button with the power off like my other DVD player that I own.
- I purchased this DVD player because I wanted a simple player that was easy to operate. Unfortunately, the DVD player was broken with a defective on/off bottom. After trying several times, I did finally turn it on. But just once. Numerous times later, I still haven't succeeded in turning it back on again -- to retrieve my DVD stuck in the player.
Toshiba does not allow you to return the DVD to the retailer for a refund or exchange. Instead, I was told to send it to Toshiba for repair. One week later, I am still waiting for them to send the pre-paid shipping label. It is going to be weeks before I will have a DVD player to watch DVDs on.
- I just got this DVD player for my birthday and I like it a lot. It has a stylish look and plays great. I have already watched 3 DVD's and each looked great on my screen. I like the remote and it's easy to locate and use buttons. I recommend it. :)
