- The product was at a good price, arrived in good condition in a timely manner.
- Great product for the price. It is perfect for the kids on a long car trip.
- I received this order very quickly and the player works nicely. It has a good picture but sound is bad and tinny unless you use good earphones. That makes it like watching the big screen, when close to it.:-)
- We purchased this DVD player to fly cross country with the children. Player is good quality picture and sound. Problem is there is no notification that battery is low. All of sudden screen goes to stripes then black and the battery is dead. Seemed like battery life is much closer to 4 hours than 6, never got past 4 1/2 hours of playing time.

5 comments about Coby Electronics TF-DVD7006 7-Inch Widescreen TFT Portable DVD Player.
- We had a 3 month warranty on the 2 we bought last Christmas. 1 broke after 4 months and the other after 6 months. Coby offered to service them if we paid $18 each (money order only) and shipped them ourselves- we sent them and never saw them again. we won't be buying Coby brands again.
- I got mine at a really good one day price from a local Video store. So far, so good. I'm happy with the performance. However, I kinda agree with the one reviewer on the battery/AC. I'm used to plugging in rather than relying on an internal battery. The battery so far plays thru a 2 hr movie (may have played longer but I recharged after the movie) Unless it plays back to back movies I would prefer AC. I'm using it for travel so time will tell.
Glad I was warned about not running AC and battery together!
- If you know anything about brands, you know that Coby is as cheap as you can get in price and QUALITY. The unit I received did not have its LCD pannel aligned properly so there was a white fuzzy border on the right and bottom edges of screen. The motor is also unusually noisy - so much so that you have to either crank up the volume to high or wear earphones to aviod hearing it. I contacted Customer Service by email a month ago and never heard back. For any service even under waranty, they expect you to send thing back at your expense WITH a check/money order for almost $20 for shipping/handling. I regard this policy as worthless considering the thing isn't even worth $20. One last thing to convince you not to buy - you cannot watch moves using the included AC adapter as this will fry the onboard battery! So you either have to charge the battery in the unit for several hours then operate off the battery only, or remove the battey completely from unit (involves taking unit apart). A joke all around and horrible product. DON'T BUY!
- I am very satified with this product - I like it's sleak look - the functions are terrific - the sound and clarity are excellent.
- This is a basic player - good for kids and affordable. I only had it for 1 month before my car was stolen along with this DVD player.

5 comments about Sharp Aquos BDHP20U 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Player.
- I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. I especially like the ability to download firmware updates from the Sharp website to my thumb drive and upload them directly to the player. Other manufacturers have to send disks out to you with the updates which is time consuming and, as I understand it, you have to request the updates. They are not automatic. Not so with Sharp. No problems whatsoever and I've had the unit 3 months.
- Returned Samsung P1500 for Sharp Aquos HP20U. OMG - what a difference. Biggest problems with P1500: 1 - No second digital audio source. Already using Optical for TV digital sound and amp only has one, but Sharp had a Coax Digital that matched up perfectly (like my upconvert had done),
2 - Sharp plays DVD+R, +RW -- Samsung does not (I needed this function),
3 - Sharp remote is much better designed, easier to read and use,
4 - Sharp has much better on-screen menus
Output quality is similar, so far. First night out Samsung hung twice and had to be restarted. Load times seem similar, too, but Sharp can be set to make them ever faster.
- After reading some slightly negative reviews, I think it will be unfair if I don't write mine.
I have owned my Sharp for almost 6 months now. Have run the newest BDs available, just yesterday I watched 'vantage point', awesome picture and sound. Loading is pretty fast too, I would say less than 40 secs. Have never faced a single problem whatsoever. Sharp just posted a new firmware but I won't load it unless I see any probs with my existing one. I did play 'Jumper' and I did not have any problem.
Call me lucky or whatever, I would blindly go for another Sharp BD player if I had to make a decision.
- The player as a player for movies is very good. However, if you are making your own videos and burning them to BD-R disks, this system does not play. I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to get disks to play without any luck. I have the latest firmware and still no luck.
- I bought my BDHP20U in Feb 2008 and it worked OK, if almost glacially slow (minutes to power on, roughly a minute just to open the [empty] tray) until July when, following one of Sharp's software updates (two previous worked great) the machine would no longer power on. Sharp apparently has quite a bit of experience with this kind of thing (not necessarily comforting) and quickly emailed me a link to a FedEx page with shipping labels -- unfortunately they sent it on Wednesday evening (while I was out), and it expired at midnight /the same day/! So it ended up taking TWO WEEKS to explain that I needed replacement shipping labels. Then things went quickly, but they shiped it back to the wrong address and it took three extra days to get it from FedEx.
After all that fun, it worked fine for a few weeks, then one night after watching a movie, it powered down when I asked it to eject the disc I'd just viewed. And it won't power on again. I'm not looking forward to repeating the repair cycle again, especially since it now seems likely I will be doing this every month from now on (if not more often).
It is a good thing that the price on this is coming down, because it certainly isn't worth the $362.49 it cost when I bought it. In fact, I expect to buy another BluRay player (from anyone but Sharp) as soon as I can afford one.

- I bought this for 25 bucks at a store a few months ago... Two months after my purchase it broke for absolutely no reason. It would play a DVD for a few minutes then shut off or freeze.
Don't waste your money- pay a little extra and go with a brand name!
- DO not buy this product...piece of junk...spend a few extra dollars and get a decent brand.
- I Highly recommend this Item, but the sellers must be accurate with the description of this product, because the product is neither Multi-zone nor Multiregion,so the customers can confuse getting the wrong DVD Player because of the wrong description, this DVD Player Plays only Region 1 Format .
I hope this information Help the Customers to Avoid confusions
Thanks
- The item was as described and came with its cables and remote. It also was shipped quickly. The seller however did not respond to the email I sent them with a question about the item.
- This was the least expensive DVD player I could find on the web but it is great. I've been watching it every day. Gorgeous picture and easy to find controls. I don't care much for the remote which doesn't duplicate the DVD's controls but I don't intend on using the remote much anyway. The seller, Wholesale Distributors, was very courteous in helping me find the right item after I ordered the wrong one (DVD player but no screen). I recommend this product.

- Product came in a poorly wrappped box and a defect on one of the sound output channels was found. I will never buy refurbished again. Am disappointed.
- Maybe there is some clue in the description of this item but it needs to be more clear that this does not include a tuner. At least the box had a big sticker on the outside warning that it does not have a tuner. Might be a nice 5-star item if you're hooking it to a cable box, but I had to return it unopened.
- I thought Philips was a great name so I bought this one. Didn't last a month before I heard a pop once night and the thing was dead as a hammer. Didn't realize until after I bought it that it has NO TUNER. You can only record a composite video signal but nothing off the air. A real ripoff.
- This is a very simple and straight forward player. It's light, basic and full featured. If you still have VHS tapes it's a great way to go. I have mine hooked up to a digital cable tv and I haven't had any problems setting up for a movie as I've had with others in the past. It has wonderful image quality, sound is great, I'd definitely recommend it!
- I bought one of these & I have to say it's really bad. The set-up is complicated. The remote has every button you can imagine but you can never seem to find the one you want because the layout is complicated & not functionally organized. Bigger issues. The VCR player quit after a very short period of use. Next, the remote quit working. Without that, the DVD functions don't work because there's no manual option. This thing is a piece of junk.

4 comments about Sony DVP-NC800H/B HDMI/CD Progressive Scan 5-Disc DVD Changer Black.
- I bought this unit for someone else and helped them set it up. Other than making sure it worked, I have not had much experience. The picture looked very good on a Sharp LCD Hi Def TV. My only complaint is that it is very slow loading and changing discs. Other than that, it seems like a good buy.
- I don't usually buy something that hasn't first been tested by Consumer Reports but I needed a new DVD player and I preferred one that allowed more than one disc to be loaded at a time. I couldn't believe how remarkable the picture was on my HD tv. Granted I haven't ever seen an HD movie being played on an HD player but this picture appears to be just like HD. I have not had any problems watching a movie. I am a teacher and I tend to watch movies only during the summer and it has received a lot of play time. I highly recommend this product.
- As my first upsampling DVD player this unit has an excellent picture and seems to be able to play any DVD we feed it. Unfortunately the lack of lighted buttons on the front panel or the remote makes operating this unit in the dim light of a viewing room difficult. I'll definitely pay attention to this feature, or lack thereof, in future purchases.
- The DVD is ok but does not allow to play Mexican DVDs, even when they are not copyrighted to begin with.
I called Sony support and they said that all their DVD have region restriction enforced. They indicated that there are 6 regions in the world, and if I need to play DVDs from any of them, I need to buy Sony DVD player for each one of them.
It is sad to see Sony restricting what DVDs I can play in the USA. They are like BIG BROTHER. They are forgetting that they are in the DVD Player business, and this is non-sense.

5 comments about PHILIPS DVP 5140 MUTI REGION CODEFREE DVD PLAYER WITH DivX & MP3. PLAYS PAL/NTSC DVDS FROM ANY COUNTRY ON ALL 110V AMERICAN TVs..
- Fast delivery, item arrived in excellent condition. This Philips multi-regions DVD player plays it all! I am very satisfied to have purchased this product. You insert the DVD (no matter what region it is) and it plays it without bothering of any kind (no code to enter, etc..). The only drawback I can find is that there is no fast forward or rewind on either the remote control or on the DVD device. Besides that, I only have good words to say about the product. I strongly recommend it !
- If you want to play all DVDs regardless of format and region coding, this is a high quality yet inexpensive unit. Unlike the prior two Sony DVD players I owned, this one does not freeze up when the memory buffer or whatever gets messed up. I have no complaints.
- I really like my player, I was able to put in a region 2 DVD in and it played at once. The only thing that is a draw back is as others have said before me, the remote responeds slow. It looks very good with my other electronics and it plays all my DVD's including recorded ones.
- A good DVD player, and all you need to do to watch foreign DVDs is enter the manufacturer's backdoor code.
- I had tried other manufacturers, but they "died" after a few uses. I am now able to watch a DVD from the UK anytime I'd like.

5 comments about Samsung DVD-F1080 1080p Upconverting Compact DVD Player.
- This is a great DVD player. After I finally got my TV set to the right conf. the DVD player is pretty simple. I can tell a big difference in the movies we watch. Would recomend this to anyone.
- Don't buy this if you have DVDs from other region. This player is impossible to unlock. I have several DVDs non-region1 and now I can't watch them.
I'll have to buy another one that is multi-regional.
- Don't let this size or price of this DVD player fool you. It is a superior product to all its larger, more expensive competitors. The picture is outstanding, and it is easy to use. We bought it for vacations in our Airstream but like it so much we might buy another for our home.
- The picture is definitely not HD, but is much better than a normal DVD. Had a little trouble during set up with my Hitachi 42" plasma and a few audio problems but have worked around. Plays most of the downloaded CD's, AVI's etc from my Mac computer. The unit should serve me well, especially for older DVD's until I upgrade to Blue Ray. The unit is well worth the money.
- I actually like this better than the one that came with my home theater system. it has a 64x fast forward which is so nice and fast when you want to get back to a place. the upconverting is impressive and the size is a real plus for small spaces.

5 comments about Panasonic DVD-S54K 1080p Upconverting DVD Player.
- I got this to team up with the Panasonic 42" Plasma Viera tv & it really makes my dvd's alot sharper & clearer than before on a regular dvd player. Why buy a Blu-ray player & spend all the extra money on the Blu-ray dvd's when you don't have to?
- great picture quality, so far watched 2 movies and they looked incredible. much clearer then a reg DVD player@ 480i. the only fault that I see is the tray is a little flimsy. I would recommend this DVD player.
- I own a DMR-ES25 Panasonic recorder and wanted a player with DVD-RAM capabilities. However when I hooked this up to my 1080p LCD TV through HDMI, I noticed that the resulting picture was noisy and much worse than the 1080i upconversion coming from my old Panasonic's HDMI output. There was practically no noticeable difference between the 480p and 1080p outputs when watching DVDs. It was as if there was no upconversion. I even experienced occasional video and audio loss. BTW I was using the same HDMI cable to compare my DVD recorder and this unit, so I don't think that was the issue here. The menu screen had superfluous white dots in random places.
Also the tray is flimsy and it's hard to get DVDs out. I ended up returning it. I either got a bad unit or the quality of the upconversion circuitry is just not up to par compared to older generation Panasonics.
- I'm a technological semi-geek. I can get most things to work. But so far, this machine is not as easy to use as I thought it would be. It plays store bought DVDs, mp3s and audio CDs well. The upconverting creates a modestly better picture with its HDMI out than my ancient former DVD player (10 years old) did when I played it through its S-Video out. The Viera link works with my Panasonic TV, which as far as I can tell only means the TV turns on when the DVD player goes on; whether you can consider that a plus is debatable, but you can easily turn the link off.
What I have yet to get to work are mpeg-4 files from either DVD discs or CD discs. The machine says it can't read the discs. I'll keep tweaking. But it looks like that on paper the previous generation DVD player from Panasonic, the S53K, actually had a little more versatility with regard to disc formats.
- Hey, I got this DVD player about a month ago on the recommendation of AMB Media Services and it was well worth the cost. This player was recommended to us after our latest crappy cheapo DVD player started acting up. I just had to clear off the space on my teeny tiny TV cabinet so that this long, flat machine can hog all of the cabinet top space, but so far, I think it's TOTALLY worth it to get a DVD player that works all the time, everytime, and I'll never go cheapo again!

5 comments about Philips PET702 7-Inch Portable DVD Player.
- A+++ We live far away from the city so all of our drives are now quieter with this new purchase! We love it!!!
- The PET702 total battery life is less than 2.5 hours and it takes about 3 hours to fully recharge it before it can be used again. You cannot play any DVD's during battery recharging using the included A/C cord or car charger. It has only one headset jack, so sharing the player on an airplane is impossible. For long car trips and hotel stays, you'll need to play DVDs using your laptop computer and power cord to watch more than one movie. I could have purchased an additional rechargeable DVD player battery to get maybe 3 to 8 hours additional DVD viewing time however, the extra battery would cost between $40 - $80 more and it's just not worth the trouble.
- its an okay product to have..bought it for my grandaughter to travel with..my only fault with this product is it doesnt stay charged long.. you can plug it into to charge, but not if you have your tomtom pluged in..
- DVD player arrived in just a few days in excellent condition. Player is very sturdy, easy to operate with a very good picture. The sound is a little low, but this could have been the dvd.
-
Considering this is a reburshied product its in good condition, all the features work, and the quality of the picture is good. It met all my expectations of being able to watch movies when not at home. My only regret is that it can't show movies that are in Blue-ray or high defintion format, the way yopu can see it from a TV.
