  1. This system gives my old sony amplifire a kick in the butt. It blasts out the sound and makes it feel like you are actually in the movie. But that was for the speakers included with the system. For even more fun, I added two speaker from my old system and they each were 240 watts! Which gave my system a grand total of 880 watts! When I turned the the volume to the max, I literally felt the vibrations in my whole body! In fact, the wall which was next to the subwoofer had all of my fine glasses on a shelf, when I looked over at the shelf, a few glasses were already on the floor, so I had to move the sub. Great system, but even more better if you add more speakers.

  2. i hooked this system up in my bedroom and it sounds great it isn't loud enough for the living room. i connected it to my game systems and it sounded like i was really in the car.

  1. I thought mine was a lemon from the start but from the other reveiws I see I am not alone. I sent it back for repairs in the first year. (a piece of inards came out with a dvd when I ejected it) It has major problems reading discs of any kind. Currently it will not play DVD's at all. I now have a $30 player for that. A few months ago the volume went out. I now play everything at 60 or 70 volume where 30 used to be loud. Not so bad except that every once in a while it realizes where it should be and blasts for a second or two. Scares the you-know-what out of everyone especially the dog! Latest problem is one of the speakers (or wiring) is on the fritz. It constantly goes in and out. Did I mention that the screws that hold the wires into the back of the amp lost their thread bolt inside of the amp within about a year. Nice thousand dollar paper weight...

  2. We were looking for a home theater system for our condo and BOSE GS II is an ideal fit. The distance between the speakers and TV is very important. This system (as the BOSE salesperson told us) is built for apartments or small rooms. Sound quality is amazing as long as you are within 10-12' from the system. DVDs work like a charm and this system has added a new dimension to watching television. I will definitely recommend this system to you if you are looking for a home theater system for your apartment.

  3. The law firm of Meyer & Associates has been researching a potential class action case against Bose, Inc. regarding an alleged defect of the Bose 321 systems resulting in CD/DVD drive failure during normal use. If you are experiencing this problem, and are willing to assist with our investigation, please contact me at 1-866-827-6537 or www.dmlaws.com and fill out a form so that our firm can evaluate your situation.

  4. I first starting looking into the Bose 321 system about 3 years ago; however, once I read the reviews I backed off. Instead I bought an Onkyo home theatre system and was quite happy with it.

Fast forward 3 years and my Onkyo was no longer working properly. So, I started looking around and I saw that Bose made a second generation 321 system. Even though it's a lot more than comparable 2:1 systems, I read better reviews for it so I decided to get it.

I have to say that I've been very happy with the Series II 321 system. The sound is incredible and it is a lot better than my previous Onkyo. I've had this for about a month and I'm very, very satisfied with it. Quite honestly, I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews with this product.

Anyway, if there's anyone that's on the fence with getting this, get it and you won't be disappointed. Cheers.

  5. I have owned the 3-2-1 system for 1 yr, 1 month and 1 week. The DVD player had to be replaced after 6 months of occasional use. Last week it failed to operate again, 6 weeks out of warranty. Also, no audio from the cable/sat setting ! The audio from my plasma TV speakers is equally as impressive in my LARGE living room. The AM/FM gives poor quality reception compared to a simple kitchen am/fm under the cabinet! DVD players are not expensive. I was impressed by the demo at the store, with a Bose DVD- at home it left me cold. Like PT Barnum said, 'there is one born every minute' Be smart and avoid this product and shop for a decent dvd/sound system.

  1. Hey, it's got a powered/active subwoofer, and some stylish looking speakers. The only trick is that the controls for the subwoofer are not external. They are set thru the DVD menu, but the settings remain constant, whether watching TV, a DVD or the radio. Once I was able to get the bass turned up, the sound was very impressive, especially considering the price. I get a lot of compliments on the look of the speakers, and the subwoofer is a really good size.

One caveat: DO NOT purchase a refurbished Philips item of any kind. The WORST customer service on the planet is thru Philips for their refurbished items, although their customer service for new items is comparable to other companies.

I don't have a super expensive system, but it sure looks & sounds like it these days.

    I have:
Sharp Aquos 32" LCD HDTV LC32D43U (love it!)
    DirecTV HD DVR HR20
Philips Home Theater in a Box (HTS3450--blk) Includes prog. scan DVD player and a jpeg/divx/mp3 player (NOT refurbished)
    Toshiba VCR
Whalen Entertainment Center which includes a LCDTV mount
Silver/Black Rear Speaker stands and wall mount speaker mounts for front speakers

  1. I actually missed the UPS delivery by minutes and was so eager to get this I drove around looking for it because I wanted to get it so badly.....Having this system setup in my basement which is 19x19 really fits in well.

It took me sometime to set it up , I was just amazed over the finish of the speakers and the receiver and DVD were nice too.

Cut to the chase...It works great, sounds great and for this price you dont pay enough to complain unless its DOA. I do feel it is a bit underpowered and can be confusing at times picking the best sound scheme.

The sub is really nice and offers the perfect amount bass without clobbering the rest of the output. The surrounds are finished perfectly in a piano black gloss , the mounts are functional { I did not use} but I did love the "coasters" which were placed under the fronts.

I was waiting for a great deal on this , I even wanted to call and haggle with tiger direct for free shipping but when I saw the weekend special email offering free shipping and a $499.99 price tag I just knew it was meant to be.....Go ahead buy it, It's well worth the money

  1. The Bose 321GS system is great. I took it out of the box and setup was very simple. I was listening to great sound from my TV in no time. The sound is great from the front. It does really sound as if the speakers are behind me. The vendor shipped the system right away.

  2. I have never even heard of anything this bad. The first one we got froze after 15 minutes of DVD playtime. We brought it back and the store replaced it immediately, without question (maybe we were not the first). The next one we got turns off spontaneously from time to time, which we could live with. We could also live with the bad TV sound, the bad CD sound, and the bad AUX sound through our computer. After all, it's optimized for DVD, and when we play modern, digital DVDs, the sound is almost as good as the demo in the store. If we can find a way to bypass the system for every other kind of sound input, we'll be in business. (but then we'll need speakers). Maybe someone can help: lately when we play our great-sounding DVDs, the picture goes to a grainy blue-ish black and white image. Now it is useless for everything, and we want our thousand dollars back. I hope we get it, but I have a feeling we're going to get a "repair disc" in the mail instead. If you respect yourself, don't buy this system.

  3. Similar story to others, only mine at least played DVDs for 18 months b4 the dreaded Format Unsupported start showing up. Now all I have is an expensive 3 speaker system that sounds good at times but at other times you can't hear voices. It was overpriced to start with but I bought into the Bose name thinking it would be quality. What a joke. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, anything else would be either cheaper or more reliable or both!

  4. For the people who are about to buy this product; Bose has a big name is world renound, but to me the base of the System is very poor. You could to barely hear the base of music. We had an onkyo system that cost us about $200 and the base of that is more satisfiying. The system in a Honda car is more satisfiying than this so called "Great System." So next time when you are thinking to by Bose, Think before you waste your money on this product.

  5. This system is absolute and positively JUNK!! Do not buy this product. I cannot even believe the hype that this product gets. Will never buy another BOSE product again!! Hope this helps.

  1. Excellent product for those who want good sound, but not the complexity or expense of buying individual components. Only issues in installation involved activating the subwoofer, and a lack of clarity surrounding making the audio connection.

  2. Unfortunately, the wireless function stopped working after one day of use. Nonetheless, I'm assuming that I just got a dud, and I'm giving a good review based on my experience while it was working. Other than volume lacking a bit as others have mentioned, I was very pleased with audio, picture quality, ease of setup - and disassembly :( Also worth mentioning that aesthetically, the unit is beautiful.

  3. Just installed this system. Have a total of 4hrs listening time on it, but I am pretty good at setup and sound adjustement. My previous system was a Sony Dream System(BTW, DO NOT BUY ONE!!!)and though it was a COMPLETE PILE OF UNRELIABLE CRAP, it sounded GREAT! The Sony's highs were significantly better than this system.
    PROs:
    1. Easy set up, no wires to snake everywhere. Rear speakers mounted on wall easy and box hidden under couch.
    2. SUB is AMAZING! This thing is nearly too much!
    3. Beautifuly crafted and finished(looks more expensive that it is!)
    4. Quick CD changes/swaps/and play feature.
    5. Surround is flawless. No delay, no 'unresponsive'. You would swear they were wired like a traditional system.
    CONs:
    1. I havnt been able to 'clean up' the sound. I like clear and crisp, and thus far, I havnt gotten it. That is a big dissapointment for me.
    2. Reciever is HUGE!
    3. Lack of PERSONAL sound adjustement(Treble, Mid, Lows, etc...).

Overall, this is a great product. It does exactly what it says, it is easy to set up(yes, sub included!) and it looks great. Just look at the reviews....if all you can find to complain about is the 'manual being too small', then it MUST be good!lol Now....if only I can figure out how to make the highs come out...

  4. I'd like to review this item but I have yet to receive it. I placed my order on March 15 and was told it may take two months for delivery after I ordered it. Two months came and went and was given a new estimated delivery date. That date has also past and I'm now being told by Amazon that they don't know when they'll get it in stock and they'll email me if they ever do. Meanwhile they still have it for sale. Why continue to take orders for an item you can't fulfill?

  5. I bought this system through buy.com first and received it at home defective: the sub-woofer doesn't switch on (zero light, not even the red one while waiting for shynch). So I returned to the system to Buy.com and decided to buy it from a more reliable website ==> Amazon.com
Unfortunately the new system has the same problem.. and I made sure it is not my mistake while I set up it...
So now, I will bring it to the reparation center. Otherwise, I would spend the shipping fees and loose it for the second time.

Hope this story will help you.

    Emanuele
