  1. We've tried 4 different driveway alerts, and I can say this one is by far the most reliable. We've had it up for a little over a month, and it has alerted us to probably 95% of the vehicles traveling up our lane. Very few false alarms. We're happy with the product to date.

  2. I first purchased a Chamberlain "The Reporter" alert, returned it, and then purchased the Dakota alert. The Chamberlain is very cheaply constructed, difficult to adjust, and I could never get it to give reliable alerts, despite numerous adjustment attempts.

The Dakota is by far superior in terms of construction, performance, operational options, and ease of adjustments. It's well worth the additional $75. My only complaint about the Dakota is that it is extremely sensitive, even at the lowest settings, so I had to play around quite a bit with location and angle of the mount before I eliminated most erroneous alerts. When I called Dakota to ask for setup advice, I reached a technician who was actually very knowledgable about the technical operaton of the unit and therefore, quite helpful.

  3. My driveway is about 300 feet long and we do not have a visual of the entrace. If someone enters the drive, we neeeded a few seconds to secure our overly friendly dog. In most instances the alarm has functioned well. However, it does sound when there is not a vehicle or person in the drive. We do live in a rural area and there is a lot of wildlife. I just wish it was able to sound only when a car or person is detected. Too many false alarms.

  4. This product does exactly what I wanted it to do. It let's me know when anyone walks around the blind side of our house. Extremely easy to install.

  5. secluded driveway and could never hear when someone came up the driveway. I really like this product and so far the quality seems to be great.

  1. These earbuds are by far the best ones on the market for the money! The sound quality is phenominal! They cancel out sound really well even though that was not their intended purpose. They sound great on all kinds of music from hip-hop to large orchestral classic style music. The amount of bass that comes from these little earbuds rival my pro dj grade headphones. By far some of the best head phones on the market. If you are reading this and you have not bought these yet, go and buy a pair right now!

  2. I bought these for over $100 from the apple store, but they lasted barely three months before one side went out. They look good and are stylishly designed and come with the remote answer/hangup button just like the original iphone headset. The sound was average. Quite acceptable, but not as good as my Shure e2c in-ear phones. Definitely recommned looking elsewhere if you're going to subject these to anything but the gentlest usage.

  3. My V-MODA Vibe earbuds have lived up to the hype. The bass response is wonderful and to leave out great reviews of the mid and high ranges would be a crime. Overall, they have brought my Zune to life and of course my vast music collection is now all the more enjoyable!

  4. Really enjoyed these because they sounded great, but didn't last more than 3 months. The coating around the wires started to peel away at both the earbuds and the jack. Really disappointing considering the price. Won't buy these again.

  5. A fantastic product!!!! Music sounds so much different with these than the ones usually included with mp3 players. I have 2 of them and it is very good value for the price!

  1. I listen to music with alot of thumping bass and my earbuds, while they are ok, dont quite provide that uummph you get when you hear it coming from a stereo. I am heading on a long trip and I figured since I will be traveling alone and my only companion will be my creative zen vision:M, why not treat my ears. I read the reviews for this, and then went down to my local electronics superstore and tried on a bunch of different types not feeling satisfied in the least with anything I saw. Without having tried these on because they didnt have an open box model, I bought them on the strength of the reviews and opened them as soon as I could. I was pleasantly surprised. They are visually very cool looking, much cooler looking than every model I saw at the store. They are comfortable, and they sound great. I like that it has a volume remote so I can keep my MP3 player volume at a low level and just turn the headphone volume all the way up to conserve the battery on my player. When I do feel like rocking out, Turn both up and the bass is ridiculous. I love it. For the price I payed, I am quite happy. And the cord is long enough so when I am at home and listening to music through my PC, I can sit a comfortbale distance away. Overall, a fantastic buy.

  2. Has anyone tried bose headphones, or even heard about them? I have them, and the quality is immense. But this review is not about bose is it? I have tried many skullcandy's and not all of them are perfect. But lemme tell you, these are. Firstly the sound. As i said before it has the amazing rich, strong, clear sound of my bose's, but it also gets x10 louder, and has even better bass and clarity. I listened to Hawthorne Heights 'Ohio is for lovers' to test it out. I play it, and the guitars sound amazingly clear and the bass sounded amazing. I switched it to Linkin Parks 'A Place For My Head', and I couldn't believe all the noises I was missing with my iPod Headphones, and the guitars tone sounded so realistic, I couldn't believe it. The best part is the $45 price tag, compared to some of the popular brands with their $140 headphones, like my boses. Also, the comfort and design amazed me. On the site i thought that the Zebra Pattern (I got the red and black ones) would be ugly, but it matches perfectly, and doesn't 'Stick Out' At all. PLUS THE HEADPHONES FEEL GREAT ON MY HEAD. The silky travel bags a plus too haha. Last but not least, the warranty. Any defects you get the product back free. Any damage caused by ANYTHING, ex. running your skullcandys over with a hummer, will get you %50 off anything in their online store which can cost over $200 at the most i think. This is the best buy I have made in the last two years AT LEAST. Buy this product now if you need headphones. There is no way you can find a better choice!

  3. Note: I own the Metallica Death Magnetic version.

BUYER BEWARE. This piece of junk is NOT sound canceling, and it can clearly be hear by other people in the room. The quality is below average compared to buds, and rest on the ears weirdly. The "amazing bass quality" that people rave about is sub par. Do not buy, go sony instead.

  4. hey, this is my moms account, and i am her son. I just recieved my skullcandy hesh literally 10 minutes ago. i gotta say, right out of the box these things are great, the bass pumps through your head and i swear i didn't know some of my songs had inter-symbol parts in them untill i listened with these. as i am wearing them now with NO MUSIC i can barely hear myself typing, these are great noise canceling headphones and they go all the way around my ear.

this kick the crap out of earbuds and i suggest them to all.

    peace.

  5. I just received these headphones like literally 20 minutes ago. and first impressions are great, I love them! i plugged them in and ofcourse the sound was good. on some songs it was less than amazing but thats because the quality of the mp3 isnt that good. Man they look hot thought, they are like the best looking headphones i have ever seen. i have some bose headphones also and i already like these better. i would and probably will recommend them to many people. GO AND BUY THESE HEADPHONES!!!

  1. Works great with Sky Caddie. Just plugged it into my DELL Vostro and it worked right off the bat. Drivers autmatically install.

  2. We bought this to replace one that we had to give to my brother. It is overpriced but works fine

  3. This adapter is is the US version of the ATEN adapter, UC232A. Same adapter just a different label. I have used this adapter to connect to modems on Windows, 2000, XP, and Vista computers. It is the only VISTA compatible adapter that actually works on VISTA (that I have tested). Unfortunately the VISTA driver does not come on the CD. You will need to download the driver from IO Gear's website.

The adapter also has OS X drivers but it DOES NOT function on OS X with modems. It will not work. Best to use the Keyspan running OS X.

  4. I bought this device in hopes that it would emulate as a serial port and work with Cisco Rollover Cables. It works! I can hyperterminal as COM8 or COM9 and make changes on various Cisco switches. Used it all day at work and did not have a problem.

I don't believe in using the CD media provided. I downloaded from the website and did not have one problem installing drivers.

I have also read that it works for OS X to do Cisco work. So happy it works. I wish laptops still had Serial Ports installed on them.

  5. I have spent hours and hours testing these devices. They work fine under most circumstances. They are low power devices as explained in a review by somebody else. Put one of them on a computer and as long as the electrical ground is good between the computer and the device sending and/or receiving the data, they work flawlessly. Also, they have problems with long cable runs. If you put two or more on a computer, you can be assured that your system will crash as soon as you start sending large amounts of data through both devices. You system will crash even if the data are not sent simultaneously.

Oh yes, forget support from IOGEAR. You will either get a non-answer or no answer.

5 comments about Griffin 9401-TUNBDSB TuneBuds (Black).
  1. I use these at work to help me focus because I work in an open environment and get easily distracted. I also wear them at the gym for hours and couldn't be happier because of their comfortableness. My only recommendation is to make sure you are diligent about keeping the buds in their case when you're done using them. Otherwise, the rubber around the wire could tear, which is what happened to my last pair.

  2. For years i avoided "in the ear" style headphones because they simply would not stay in my ears. I've been using Sony Street Style, which have large pads and go behind the ears. They are good, but can be uncomfortable if you wear glasses.

My Sony headphones did not fit my new iPhone jack, so I decided to try Griffin. These have three different sizes (yes, some people have small ear-holes!), and I found that the smallest size fit me well. They go in your ear much better than the standard flat Apple earbuds, and they stay in place, even when jogging.

Another benefit is that they cancel outside noise very well. Very useful when you are on a noisy train... but be careful - you might miss something if you are walking around a city!

Sound quality is good - not as good as my Sony Street style, but its acceptable.

This is my second pair. My first pair served me well for months, but eventually they died (sound cutting in and out). I think all headphones eventually die this way - the chord becomes frayed at the end and when you move it around the sound goes with it...

Overall - comfortable, decent sound, worth the price.

  3. These worked great for me for about a month. I was amazed at how much sound was blocked out--I was able to listen to my Sansa at about half the volume as with my old headphones. The reason for the two stars is that the wires lost connection right where the Tune Buds plug into the MP3 player after just a month of use. The cords really do seem terribly thin, and there is no stress reliever at the point where the wires lost connection. It's a pity, because this is otherwise a great product.

By-the-way, Amazon was great about the problem. I just missed the return period, and I sent them an e-mail explaining the problem. They graciously agreed to take them back and give me a refund (although I'm still waiting for the refund, but I just sent them earlier this week.)

  4. I expected these to be pretty good based on the other reviews. There were plenty of highs, but NO LOWS at all! Absolutely no bass. I was really disappointed -- assume they were defective since everyone else seems to think these are decent. At least Amazon let me send them back and refunded my money. Yay Amazon!

  5. It has no lows but A LOT of HIGH which is IRRITATING! It sounds like someone scratching a chalkboard. Don't buy this item! Find one that's more sensitive for your ears!

5 comments about Apple Radio Remote for iPod (White).
  1. This is a really great product, it works great and is easy to use. Nice to listen to FM radio when you get sick of your own music. If it had AM radio as well as FM I would have given it 5 stars.

The price direct from Apple is outrageous, but you can usually get it Amazon at a much better price.

  2. This worked great while it worked. Have had it about 1 1/2 years and it just stopped working (volume control cont. to work). Too much money for something that doesn't last. Read similar complaints on Apple website while trying to troubleshoot.

  3. Not very useful around my area. Doesn't receive FM well at all.
    Too many wires.

  4. Definitely the Apple Radio Remote is a great asset
for the your aped but has plenty of room for
    improvement.

    1. Reception is not that great, and if you are confined within walls forget about listening to the radio.

    2. An important feature is missing!
You should be able to switch, from this remote,
between listening to your iPod's playlist and listening to the radio. Instead you have to go to your iPod's menu and select MUSIC or RADIO and that sort of defeats the purpose of this "remote", doesn't it?

Still very happy with the new and useful feature it adds to my iPod.

  5. $50 is steep for a mp3 remote, radio tuner or not. I decided to bite the bullet and pick it up anyway as I new I would get tons of use out of it at work. Which I did for about six months. Around the 5 month mark I noticed that I'd have to push the buttons two or three times before they'd register the command. Then it started to not carry the sound through, I would have to unplug it and plug it back into the ipod. Finally, it just stopped working. A co-worker bought one a few months after I did and his stopped working about a month ago.

I expect that kind of "craftsmanship" from a third party, knock off, company. I paid the extra money for quality and something that would work seamlessly with their product. I'd think twice about buying this device, or at least wait until it gets closer to the $20 range.

3 comments about Creative Labs Leather Case for Zen X-Fi (Black).
  1. This case is sturdy, looks good and holds the Zen X-fi 16BG w/ LAN very snug. The stitching seems very strong and well done, leather is high quality. There are also magnets (inside the leather) to match the nine central buttons to keep the case closed.
What I do no like about the case is that the screen opening in the leather itself seems a little small.
So, you have to push your player all the way in to reach the power button on the back, but in doing so, you almost completely cover you Play/Pause & Configure/Options buttons. Then the problem crosses over, so that if you push the player back a little to the left, then you do have full button access, but then you have cut off about 1-2 cm of the screen and you no longer can see the power button, and now the external speaker is half covered by the case...

So I don't know any other fault of this case besides the leather opening for the screen.
(The magnets could be a little stronger, the case does not stay closed very well. A button/Velcro or something might have been better... I don't know)

  2. build quality is good, durable. appearance is respectable. did not find the power on/off/lock or screen to be hampered in access in anyway as previous reviewer did. magnet holding face cover down works sufficiently.

obviously deficient in that there is not access to sd card slot nor is there a cut out for the external speaker (so cover will muffle the sound). and, it could use a clip.

2 stars only because of silly design errors.

  3. I am very happy with this product. It fits the MP 3 for which it is designed and is well made. The slot for the SD card could be better aligned withe actual opening on the device.

5 comments about BOSE (R) In-Ear Stereo Headphones.
  1. Yes theses headphones sound great!......But they are not as snug fitting in the ear as I would have liked. They come with three size "jellies" and even though you can mix and match them, they just never fit snug. I know they sit in the "bowls" of the ear but that lets in a lot of unwanted outside noise. They do have great highs and mids. Bass a little wavey at high volume

  2. for the record: the sample picture on the descripiton of this product shows the OLD model of these...the current ones redesigned by BOSE have a black and white chord and more confortable fit.

anyways, i have had these for over a month now i figured it was time to give them a review. i had the Sony IN-ear bud style headphones before these, and it took me a while to get used to the way these sound. now that im used to them...these things are powerful both in sound and performance, wayy more powerful than my old sony's!!!! the chord is solid and sturdy as is the actual material of the earphones, the rubber buds WILL stay in your ears because they are of sticky rubber material. so they wont fall out with sweat.

Now it has been said that these have way to much BASS....my veredict: They have Powerful rich deep sounding bass, that sounds fantastic on the low end but interfere just a BIT on the MIDS, meaning that depending on the music you listen to, the artits voice might sound a bit loud and cause vibration. however they DO NOT HAVE WAY TOO MUCH BASS, just enough. The HIGHS are so clean on these phones that you will forget about any type of distorion on the bass. I dont know if they are worth $100 (i did not pay that much) but these things do have superb quality and are definatelly expensive. Bose has definatelly made a good product here, and YOU WILL ENJOY THEM. are there better headphones out there??? ofcourse but these are really good for the price and are not overshadowed by more expensive ones.
    SO TO SUM IT UP:

PROS: Powerful and abundant bass, crisp clear sound especially on the high ends,(these things sound VERY GOOD) Sturdy and excpensive material, chord will resist strong pulls, Rubber Buds DO stay in your ear(try different sizes if they dont), nice color and quality.

CONS: The headphone jack is big(i dont know why bose made it so big)Bass may cause a bit of distortion on the MID freqs. are not noise cancelling(although this is not needed for these earphones, simply turn up the volume and you wont hear any outside noises) Buds pick up dust(because of sticky material)(none of these cons are significant enough for me to take away stars, there are more cons than flaws)

OVERALL: if you are an average listener you will be very happy with these, the standard ipod earphones are crap compared to these. and if you are an audiophile like me, you will also enjoy them even with its tiny bass flaw. VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED!

  3. A big problem with in-ear headphones in general nowadays is the bass not being strong enough. Bose, with the creation of these headphones, has proven that it IS possible to have TOO MUCH bass. So much bass that the treble gets drowned out even after extensive adjusting of the equalizer settings to compensate. Not only does it sound bad, but it actually might be dangerous - while listening to these headphones, certain frequencies of bass lines would give the sensation that it was rattling my entire skull.

Another noted problem is that these headphones are NOT loud enough! My mp3 player of choice is a Sony a728B and the supplied headphones are notably louder at 20 than these Bose are at 30 (max). I was comfortably listening at the max volume and wanting more after a while, whereas I couldn't get past 23 or 24 with stock headphones without being in serious pain. I didn't have any volume restrictions done, these are a WEAK pair of headphones.

Forget about jogging with these headphones. Even with the supplied lanyard the weight of the headphone itself is significant enough to fall out of your ear after 10 or 15 strides. While I realize these are not meant to be lightweight running/jogging headphones, I just thought it was important to note.

These headphones leave something to be desired.
A strange combination of too much bass and not enough general power added onto the rather steep $100 pricetag leaves these headphones not the greatest choice. Shame on you, Bose. I know you can do better than this.

  4. First thing you have to know about me is I love Music almost all types from rock to rap and Classical to jazz to country etc, even a little Latin. I've been looking for the perfect head phones for my 160 GB IPod since I got it about a year ago just after it came out. First off the head phones that come with the IPod are garbage. The base sounds really bad. I got rid of those right away. Next I tried 12 - 15 dollar Sony ear buds but the base was nothing special. Not bad granted but nothing special. I then found the Sony MDR-EX55LP in ear head phones and thought I was done even the salesman at the store said don't waste your money on the Bose the Sony head phones are better and cheaper. One day I was in my local mall and wondered in to the Bose store. They had a pair of these in-ear head phones to try out. I said what the Hay it's worth a try. Let's see how the sound compared to the Sony's I already had. Boy was I shocked. They where a hundred times better. The sound is so much richer and clearer. When I bought my pair about a month ago I even found out that the problem with the base in most hip-hop/rap tracks I had been having was no longer there. Now grated that is not 100%. Try the track "A Milli" by Lil' Wayne and the base problem is not completely gone but 95 percent of the time is almost non existent. also I'd been having a problem at work where my Sony head phones would get very tangled up in my pocket while on the job witch I feel it very bad for the ear buds and Bose offers a free carrying case the solves that problem. Over all the best 100 Dollars I even spent! My ears have been thanking ever since.

  5. Good:Sound great

Bad: I've had these bose headphones for about 2 months now and i've managed to lose the gel ear pieces twice as they fall off very easily. These headphones DO NOT STAY IN THE EAR if you plan to move your head at all, while wearing these ie walking, running or coughing for that matter don't buy them.

3 comments about Sony VHS Cassettes 160 Minute (8-Pack).
  1. The quality in EP is terrible. Its dark and fuzzy. Stick with the 6 hours(sony).

  2. I wish there was a negative star rating. Bought 150+ videocassettes Sony brand, before learning that they were all [garbage]. In SP mode, very poor (wavery, then poor pic quality, and quick wear-out). In EP mode, COMPLETELY UNUSABLE (white fuzz and tracking chaos). Our tapes came from a number of different stores, both local and internet. Variant Sony VHS products as well, although mostly their so-called premium quality line. EVERY tape was bad. The only common denominator was that they were being output by a factory (or factories) in Mexico. Sony have little to do with making these tapes, I think, other than slapping their name on them, and tricking the consumer. We own a Sony VHS player, a Sony DVD player, and a Sony mini-stereo system. But our Sony electronics purchases, those already came slightly previous in time to all the torture Sony caused us with their Heche en Mexico landfill fillers that they call vhs tapes. It's confusing why Sony have chosen this route of using -- and trashing -- their name/image in order to dump this broken junk on the quick buy market. Shouldn't they realize that it will just make folks hesitant then to go for the major purchases of the Sony name? Or do they expect us to somehow know in advance when it's a real Sony product or when it's just Sony conning us?

  3. I've used these video cassettes for years. I've always loved that I can fit so many hours onto one cassette. They are also great for repeated recording, if you like to record shows you miss while you're at work, then tape over those episodes with the latest episodes week after week. The quality is great compared to every other brand of video cassette that I've tried, which is every brand sold in Wal-Mart, Target, and Big Lots. I can't imagine why the other two reviewers had problems with these; they're probably using old or dirty VCRs. If you have the problems that the previous reviewers have had, use a VCR cleaner. . . or maybe it's just time to buy a new VCR. All videos play badly on old or dirty players, but these have always worked as well as pre-recorded videos in almost all conditions.
