5 comments about Califone First Stereo Headphone Lightweight for Young Children Blue.
  1. I bought a set for each of my children; 2y and 5y. They are the perfect size for their little heads; they dont' slide off like other headsets do. They can both put them on without assistance, and they love wearing them. I love them because now I can listen to my XM in the car and not have the DVD competing behind me!

  2. I bought these headphones for my 19month old grandson to listen to classical music from his Mp3 player. They are perfect for him, just the right size and fit perfectly over his ears. He will sit and listen to the music for almost an hour, so they must be very comfortable for him too. He absolutely loves them. The headphones are great plus the the service was outstanding. Very fast shipping too! Definately 5 stars, all the way around.

  3. We purchased these for our 20month old for a very long flight to use with a dvd player. They worked great and our son actually kept them on his head! They are well built, light-weight, and are a great primary color (makes it more fun for kids). They are also the right size and cover the entire ear with very soft padding to stay on the ear better and fit smaller heads of toddlers (they are also adjustable to grow with your child). These also worked on the plane connected to the earphone jack for the on-plane movies so we were all peacefully watching a movie. I highly recommend these for your child as they were made specifically for young children.

  4. Just to clear things up, these are just child sized headphones that have been "hardened" to resist abuse. There are no control mechanisms and other features, just headphones.

    Overview-
These are just medium-low quality membranes in a hard package sized for little ones.

They seem to have a good size range. The cups can be slid up or down on the support rail a couple of inches for the older kids or left up for the younger ones. I have a 2 and a 5 year old and they fit both fine.

The exterior construction is a decent plastic, light and tough, can withstand a good amount of abuse. The actual contact surfaces seem to be a vinyl like material that is easy to clean, seems to wear well.

The actual acoustic membrane is protected by a plastic grid so if the kid takes them off and starts poking around inside they can't damage them.

The cup is filled with some type of foam, this helps to isolate outside sounds, though its not anything like dedicated noise cancelling or ear muffs. It reduces exterior noise but does not substantially eliminate it.

The wire that connects to your sound device is key, first off its reinforced with extra thick shielding, the ends are reinforced as well. This helps prevent tangling and snagging and breaking. Also from the plug to the cups there is only 1 wire. The wire to the other cup is built into the headband. This reduces the amount of wire hanging around to get tangled or broken. Very nice.

The sound quality is OK. It has good reproduction of low tones, serviceable reproduction of mid tones but poor reproduction of high tones. For its target age group that's probably ok. You can hear voices fine, just don't expect to enjoy your opera too well. Its not for serious music listening, its for kids who really wouldn't know the difference.

    That's about it. To recap

    Pros-
    Hardened design, very durable
    Tangle resistant wire
    Some exterior noise abatement

    Cons-
    Poor high tone reproduction.

    Conclusion-
If you have kids and you want to get them their own headphones so they stop destroying yours these are just the ticket.

  5. These are the perfect size for preschoolers. The only concern, is the black covering came off the ear piece but I was able to get it back on.

  1. According to http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/indoor.php this is the top-rated indoor TV Antenna for HDTV. The only way to get better reception would seem to use an external antenna: http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/outdoor.php

  2. Gary hit the nail right on the head in his review. As with so many other things, you get what you pay for--there is good equipment, so-so, and then there is junk. On a whim, I decided to try the Winegard SS-3000. It outperforms everything I have ever tried, and, in recent years, I have tried several. I am very pleased; so pleased, in fact, that I ordered a second one. Although I haven't had them very long, yet, it appears that I won't have to move them around or adjust them in any way due to weather changes and other types of interference (as I have had to do with all the other antennas I have used). Both of mine are being used on digital and high-def televisions. Great value for the buck.

5 comments about Sound-Squared "SPORT" earphones earbuds for ipod or MP3 MP4.
  1. These earphones come with "30-day satisfaction guarantee", and they really mean it. You won't see any sellers who are nicer than them. I read a review which complained that the packaging wasn't nice. On the contrary, I was happy to know that I was not wasting money on packaging. These earphones are jems that come in a ziplock bags with an excellent customer service.

  2. I've used these headphones for over a month now and I like them more and more. I have small ear canals and the different size ear fittings definitely help. The sound is very detailed and the bass is natural and not overpowering. You really need to try the different fittings to get the best fit in your ear. If they're too lose, you'll lose bass and detail. I'm pretty satisfied for the money spent. I can't imagine any headphones being that much better without spending a lot more money. These are definitely keepers. Give them a long try.

    WGH

  3. I love the concept and they sound good. Unfortunately they didn't stay on/in my ears while running. I find that they fell out all the time. For some reason the design was off - they don't fit snug enough against the ear to stay in. It's a real problem.

So, I was shocked when after writing my review, a designer from the company responded and explained the issue. It seems like they just need to add a clip to them to clip them to the shirt. Once i did that, it did the trick and now I use them all the time. I was impressed with their customer service approach. It's not often people accept feedback in the positive light it was meant.

Let's hope they add the clip to the kit going forward.

Quality wise, i'd give them 4 stars. Sound quality, 3 stars. Fit, I'd give them 3 stars (only because they don't quite stay snug in the ear which is how I'm used to running headphones working).

    I hope this helps.

  4. "i love my new earphones !!!! these things are so comfortable you seriously kind of forget that you have them on. they sound very nice AND THEY FIT AND THEY STAY IN YOUR EAR !!! i love these earphones and im even considering buying a 2nd pair to keep on standby AND the folks over there at Earphones Plus are serious about customer service & satisfaction. they're great."

  5. Pros:
-These earbuds have a copper shell and makes the feel of the earbuds, themselves, sturdy and solid.
-Adjustable earbud cushions, 3 sizes, small (attached), medium and large.
-Feels comfortable sitting in earcanal, feels natrual.
    -Good gym earbuds.

    Cons:
-The loop around for the ears, however, feel a bit flimsy and could snap off at anymoment. So far, I haven't had an issue with that and it's been about 3weeks with them at the gym.
-Bad for cardio/running. Anything after 20minutes, depending on how hard I was running, the earbuds loosen and I was forced to push them back in. It's not to bad, livable.
-Another gripe was a clothes clip, to attach onto your cloths so when your cord gets snagged it won't yank out of your ears. I solved this by using my old Sony sports earbud's clip, reason why I was looking for new ones anyways.

    Final Thoughts:
A decent price, comfort is higher than that of my old Sony Sports clip, I'm 5'6", would recommend for smaller-average person as the earclips aren't height adjustable; might not be a huge issue unless you have HUGE ears, lol.

5 comments about Wireless Motion Alert Kit-3000' Max Range.
  1. We've tried 4 different driveway alerts, and I can say this one is by far the most reliable. We've had it up for a little over a month, and it has alerted us to probably 95% of the vehicles traveling up our lane. Very few false alarms. We're happy with the product to date.

  2. I first purchased a Chamberlain "The Reporter" alert, returned it, and then purchased the Dakota alert. The Chamberlain is very cheaply constructed, difficult to adjust, and I could never get it to give reliable alerts, despite numerous adjustment attempts.

The Dakota is by far superior in terms of construction, performance, operational options, and ease of adjustments. It's well worth the additional $75. My only complaint about the Dakota is that it is extremely sensitive, even at the lowest settings, so I had to play around quite a bit with location and angle of the mount before I eliminated most erroneous alerts. When I called Dakota to ask for setup advice, I reached a technician who was actually very knowledgable about the technical operaton of the unit and therefore, quite helpful.

  3. My driveway is about 300 feet long and we do not have a visual of the entrace. If someone enters the drive, we neeeded a few seconds to secure our overly friendly dog. In most instances the alarm has functioned well. However, it does sound when there is not a vehicle or person in the drive. We do live in a rural area and there is a lot of wildlife. I just wish it was able to sound only when a car or person is detected. Too many false alarms.

  4. This product does exactly what I wanted it to do. It let's me know when anyone walks around the blind side of our house. Extremely easy to install.

  5. secluded driveway and could never hear when someone came up the driveway. I really like this product and so far the quality seems to be great.

5 comments about JVC HANC100 Noise Cancelling Headphones.
  1. Works great but not nearly as good as the BOSE quality one, but I guess you get what you pay for. Blocks out the very loud noise but not to the mute level.

  2. These headphones produce not bad sound quality, but they are not comfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes.
Noise canceling works only for low frequencies and in the same time add some noise on high frequencies (i.e. in a quiet room I hear more noise when noise canceling turned on)

  3. I had read quite a few reviews on Amazon about these headphones and they seemed like the right ones, but the moment I got them out of the box and on my head I knew I was going to return them.

The glaring design problem which JVC should beat themselves with rusty chains for is the total lack of cushioning on the folding headband. I couldn't keep them on my head for more than a minute before they started to irritate my skin. Granted, my hair is short and receding, but NO CUSHIONING AT ALL?! We're not with nerve endings, JVC!!

The second issue is that the earcups did not fit over my ears, but rather quashed them against my head. I'm fortunate in that my ears are don't stick out hardly at all, but still, it's not a comfortable feeling to have them clamped against my skull. The sensation was not unlike a vise with a little padding.

Finally, the rewind function of the headphone is a cute trick, but it's much smaller than a regular cord. That alone was cause for me to worry that all I'd have to do is catch it once on something and it would tear right out.

I'm going back to Best Buy and try the Philipps HN110's!

    Dave S.

  4. Well packaged product; works well in airplanes to reduce (not eliminate) the constant buzz from the engines. Good sound quality from my iPod. Very comfortable even on long flights.

  5. It was a real improvement for my flying experience. Really cut engine and cabin noise. I won't fly without them.

  1. This is a great product for your digital camcorder and also at a great price.

  2. At $20 for 10, it's the best deal I can find. It works fine with my panasonic camcorder.

  3. These mini DV tapes are the best and cheapest I could find. I use them with my HD Canon camcorder and the quality is stunning! I get about 1 hour of HD footage per tape.

  4. JVC MDV60ME10P Mini DV Tape (10 Pack)
I like this product. They are high quality products at an affordable price. For the clarity they envy Sony and Panasonic products. I am a regular user of these tapes for over 4 years and I never had any problem with their color reproduction or quality. I highly recommend this to anyone.

  5. My product arrived a little less timely than expected for my upcoming shoot, however, it appeared to be in great condition and exactly what I ordered. You can't beat the price per tape, for those of us still using tapes. My only advice is order well in advance of need. IT takes approximatley two weeks or more to arrive.

  1. I can't believe amazon even sells this item. It doesn't work period. What a waste of money.

  2. I am 99% sure that this is a fake product. Someone got a bunch of salvaged parts and started creating these fake adapters out of them. They sell them for very cheap, so it is more trouble to return them than it is worth. Add a little something about them not working for all video cards and they're off the hook.

  3. Worked for me. Don't blame the adapter. It's your video card that doesn't have the TV output capability. Read the item description!!!!

  4. It works fine depending on the laptop video card. it is not working in one of my laptop.

  5. The image comes through all distorted. Both the RCA and the S-Video signal.

Sorry... it's the truth. Glad I didn't spend too much on it.

5 comments about Contour Design Showcase Case for 160 GB iPod classic (Black).
  1. Looked for a nice, protective case for my new iPod. Found this one after reading reviews. It's perfect. In fact, my husband wants one of his own to replace his case which he recently purchased!

  2. I dont want to make an overly wordy review, but the case is great. Very sturdy, clean design that doesnt detract from the look of the ipod. I've had just about every type of case imaginable for my ipods and this one tops them all.
The downside is that the clear plastic is very susceptible to scratches and the belt clip is a bit difficult to use.

  3. I've used Contour Showcases on my iPods since they became available. I've tried many others, but I keep coming back to this one.

Pros: Easy to remove iPod from case - a definite plus if you dock your iPod frequently or connect it to various accessories. Sharp appearance. Removable belt clip.

Cons: Scratches easily, but better than having a scratched iPod. Not much cushioning in case iPod gets dropped. Click wheel remains uncovered/unprotected. Using belt clip results in iPod aligning horizontally instead of vertically.

Overall, this is a decent case that's easy to put on and remove, protects most of the iPod from scratches, and will confer a slight degree of extra protection in case of drops.

NOTE: This 160GB iPod Classic will also fit in the Showcase for the 80GB iPod with Video, which is slightly cheaper.

  4. I have bough several cases for my I pods and this is by far the best so far. The screen is clear and easy to see. Access to the connection ports are easy to plug in. One thing that it does not have is a cover at the bottom so it is possible that this location may get dirty, but this is not the end of the world. I take my I-pod in and out of the case often, so the easy and speed that this cover allows is great. Two locking mechanisms and the case hinges in 2. In and out in 5 seconds

  5. This is exactly what I needed to protect my investment. Its hard. Its clear where it needs be and doesn't constrict or deny access to any ports. The latch is very secure. Rubberized edges do very well at protecting the edges. The case fits my 160 classic like a glove. Only one small complaint: its difficult to see through the screen with polarized sunglasses... this particular kind of high-density plastic shows a hazy rainbow with my sunglasses. Definately glad I made this purchase. A very small cost to protect not just my ipod, but also the huge amount of time I have invested in it.
