5 comments about JBL - On Stage II - Speaker and Docking Station for iPod« (Black).
  1. I ordered this item on 07/15/08 and I received it on 07/16/08. Remarkable. I tried it at home in my bedroom and I was pleasantly surprised. It packs quite a punch. The only thing is that the louder the punch, it starts to get muffled. But I bought this for my desk at work because I can't get radio reception. Therefore, for my needs, it's perfect. I didn't expect it to sound like bose or any thing but it does a good job for my needs. Would I have it in a large room or as my main music source, no. But it small spaces, it's great. And it does charge your ipod when the ipod is not in use. I noticed it today. After I stopped listening to the ipod or even paused it for a little while, it automatically went into charge mode and it's visible on the ipod's screen. It says charging or charged.

  2. Very good sound from my ipod, and low weight, but the remote doesn't work well if the docking station is near to something metallic or an electric device. Despite that, i'm very happy.

  3. Pros: compact speakers, decent sound quality, simple remote, reasonable price
Cons: short mini stereo plug, somewhat bulky power converter

  4. JBL 2 is really nice for small spaces to play music. Would be greatly enjoyed at parties and does play well outside if you are not going to far away. The speakers can get very loud inside and if you do not shut off the remote when you are not using it, it looks like you can wear it down. Just follow the directions and you'll love it! I live on sail boat and it's really nice for sails as well. SPEAKERS HAVE AMAZING SOUND!

  5. I cannot say its an outstanding amplifier but compared with the similar from other brands, the JBL is great. Good bass, good volume. It distorts if you push the volume too much but is a very good ambient sound. The remote is not very good though it demands a little pacience.

If you're looking for an ambient sound with no hi-end expectations it's the one. If you want to power a party look for something else.

5 comments about Fujifilm Media 25367101 Empty Color Slim Jewel Cases - 100 Pack.
  1. These slim jewel cases by Fuji provide sturdy protection for CDs; but they can also store DVDs as well as CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, and more! I have been fortunate in that the cases I bought never cracked when I tried to open them. Could that be because I'm a 90 pound weakling? SMILE Well, I doubt it--I think these are well constructed. They hold together for years at a time and that's great.

Moreover, these slender jewel cases provide excellent storage for media and they measure roughly half the width of the older, original jewel cases that seem far too wide and "fat" today. You can stick a "post-it" note to the front of the jewel case to indicate what's on the disc inside, too.

Moreover, these jewel cases are affordable--and that's great in these times. Each case costs roughly 16 cents which is great considering how long these will last for you. These jewel cases can be storing discs on bookshelves, cabinet shelves or whatever. They are not ugly, either. In fact, they come in several different colors including red, yellow and blue. You can use these colors to categorize types of media so you don't have to hunt endlessly for the type of media you're looking for.

Overall, I highly recommend these CD/DVD jewel cases for anyone who wants compact yet sturdy storage for their media. I feel badly for those reviewers who had some damaged cases in their shipment; but my shipment came completely intact. Use these in good health!

  2. The product is alright for what it costs, but I am really pissed by the packaging department. This item comes wrapped in brown paper instead of bubble wrap and at least 10 to 15 of the cases end up broken. I complained and the Amazon Customer Service people worked it out with me, but I STILL want for purchasers of this product to complain to customer service if you order this item and they come broken. That is the ONLY way something will be done about this Bad Wrapping.

  3. This is a real deal - rather a "steal", for the price I paid ($15.74). I combined it with other items and got it as a free shipping.

Kudos Amazon for doing a great job in packing (enough of crushed paper cushion) and sending it through UPS. I opened the pack and checked all the jewel cases and guess what... not even a single breakage.!! Thanks to Amazon's shipping folks, who knows how to pack fragile items.

About the quality of the Fiji Slimline CD cases, they are good, worth every dollar you spent on them. No regrets and no problems. I do not have to buy CD jewel cases, may be for the next 2 years. Thanks Fiji and thanks Amazon.!!

  4. The product is great. And if I can get 100 of them to me all in one piece that would make it even better. I use a lot of these as I am an rising artist. But when I order 600 of them, at least 75-100 of them come broken. Shipping is a problem. Sometimes, I get 99% whole. Other times, 90% whole, 10% broken. Please place more packing material inside the boxes, NOT BROWN PAPER. Brown paper does not stop the cases from breaking!!!!

  5. fine product and well made however they give no pad to use for info on each jewel case. cheap action.

5 comments about Sennheiser MX55 Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Headphones.
  1. this is the 6th set of earbuds i've purchased for the ipod.

finally, buds that stay put in my ears! this is the design that ALL earbuds should adopt. put them in the ear and rotate the extra little nub so it wedges into the ear shell, and you won't have to repeatedly jam the buds back into your ears.

i thought i was the only one having trouble with traditional buds constantly falling out of my ears, eroding the ipod experience. i've since discovered that most everyone has the same problem. apple shud be ashamed to be shipping such badly designed buds. these really are the answer.

  2. I bought this to replace one of their earphone sets I really liked. This has good sound, but the cord is to long and it is coiled. Every time I take it out to put it on I have to spend time to unravel all the knots. The previous style of earphones worked really well, but they don't sell it anymore. They should go back to the styles that work.

  3. I purchased these headphones specifically to use while working out. They did take a little getting used to at first, to get the right fit, but now they only take a few seconds to put in. I'm very happy with the sound quality and the way they stay in my ears even during rigorous activity. I really like the fact that they don't fall out of even move when I'm wiping my face with a towel. They do tend to hurt my ears after wearing them for over an hour, so I wouldn't recommend wearing them for very long periods of time. I do think these headphones will fit everyone differently, as people's ear shapes can vary. I have all of the smallest attachments on and they are still a little bit too big for me.

To address a few complaints that I have seen in other reviews:
    1) The lengthy and 'twisty' cord - I use them with my iPod shuffle and find it very easy to leave the cord wrapped up (similar to the picture) and clip it into the iPod's clip.

    2) The different lengths of the left and right headphone cord - This is by design. The right cord should be wrapped around over the left shoulder and behind the neck. This is so you only have one cord hanging in front of you.

I've been using these headphones everyday for a month now and overall I am very happy with them.

  4. I love these sport headphones; once they are in, they don't move; very secure and the sound clarity is very good; the color is great too!! Great features and easy to fit. I'm very happy with this product.

  5. Sennheiser MX55VC Twist-To-Fit In-Ear Stereo Headphones w/ Volume Control

Expensive --- VERY expensive for such a shoddy product.

Sound quality --- Dreadful! Either all bass or all treble --- no mid-range at all.

Cords --- all twisted up like a corkscrew --- very annoying. Earpiece cords are uneven lengths --- even more annoying, especially since it sets the in-line volume control off to one side, making access more difficult.

Ear buds --- The so-called "twist-to-fit" is a joke. I played around with them for a half-hour and couldn't get a better fit, no matter how much I tried.

Carrying case --- Pathetic! You have to put this together yourself and it is ugly beyond belief.

In short, the worst headphones I've ever owned. I will NEVER buy Sennheimer products again and will actively campaign against them to friends and acquaintances who might be considering a new pair of buds.

Amazon only allows posting with a One Star minimum, but I actually rate these ZERO STARS!

5 comments about 8 in 1 car wireless FM Transmitter Car Charger for iPod Touch Classic iPhone remote car dock full range frequency + USB Port for MP3 Cell phone charge.
  1. This thing is kind-of cheaply made. It came apart the second day I had it, and I had to figure out how to screw the little tip back in while making sure any of the tiny pieces didn't fall out. I was able to put it back together, but it could easily happen again and I could lose one of those tiny irreplaceable parts. Its a good price for such a handy tool, but just be aware that its delicate.

I do think it is a good product other then the issue I had with it. It works great with my dinosaur Ipod Mini. It charges it while you drive. If you don't use an Ipod it will still work because it has an axillary audio plug-in that will pop right into your earphone jack of your MP3 player. only issue with this is that I don't think it will charge an MP3 player that isn't an Ipod.

  2. This is a great product once you figure out how to use it, since there are no instructions. NOTE!!: you must turn up the main volume under settings/EQ on your iPod in order for the signal to be strong enough to hear on your radio. I fiddled for 4 days thinking I'd bought a lemon because I had to turn my radio all the way up. Once you do that it works a charm, I love it!!

  3. I bought a tape transmitter and it didnt even work in my car! So i bought this...the minute i put it in the car i loved it! It works great! The hardest thing is finding a station that it sounds good! I used 101.9 it was the one that sounded the best! There is alittle bit of static but what can you expect! The shipping was great too i ordered it on Tuesday and it came on Friday! Quickest regular shipping ive ever had! The remote was great too! It feels/looks fake and i personally thought when i saw it that there was no way it was gonna work but it worked great! I loved this whole product! I would recommend it to anyone! Dont think twice just buy it...if your like me you wont regret it!

  4. I was a little skeptical about the first review on this product, which seemed a bit over the top, but after receiving this product and trying it out, I'm going to have to agree: this is THE BEST FM TRANSMITTER FOR IPODS I HAVE EVER OWNED.

I owned one made by Griffin for my iPod nano and it was decent, but there was only one channel (87.9) that worked where I live (15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis) and there was quite a bit of static sometimes. When I received an iPod Touch for my birthday I went to Best Buy and paid $55 for another Griffin product and it was AWFUL. There wasn't a single station that didn't have a lot of static and it just seemed very poorly made.

I then found this online for half the price, and the sound quality is excellent. It honestly sounds as good as a CD on several channels in throughout the city. The packaging concerned me at first, as there are several misprints which made we wonder if as little care went into the product as went into the packaging, but after several days of using this I couldn't be more pleased. My one concern is that the plastic that the holder is made of seems a little cheap and I'm concerned that it might break if I change it from one car to the other too often. At this price, though, you can buy two of them for the price of one terrible Griffin product!

One other minor complaint: the photo here shows that it is black, but the one I received was white. I would have sent it back and requested a black one to go with my Touch, but I really don't care and I've been so pleased with it that it seemed like a pretty minor thing.

BARGAINCELL: If you want to send me the right color, I'd be happy to edit my review to reflect that you did!

  5. I've only used this transmitter once, but it was for a two-day car trip from New York to Kentucky. We countered some interference along the way, especially near big cities, but even then, it wasn't too bad. Most of the time, we enjoyed crisp, clear sound.

The fact that the transmitter is powered only through the cigarette adapter can be inconvenient if your adapter is in a tight spot, or if you need to charge another device, such as a cell phone, at the same time.

In general, I was happy with the product, but next time, I'll probably chose something that can also draw power from a battery or an iPod.

5 comments about Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G, 3G (Black).
  1. When I ordered this, I didn't do my homework and I thought this charger could be used to extend the battery life while you are using the iPod/iPhone. This is really a portable battery charger that blocks the headphone jack on the Touch.

I had a cross-country flight and I got to the airport 90 minutes early. After waiting for an hour and listening to music on the Touch, then having my flight delayed and listening to more music, the battery started to wear down. When I got on the flight, I watched a 2h movie and the battery went down to 20%. I kept watching and drained my battery to 0%. I pulled out the charged Kensington mini battery extender and plugged it in. At this point, there was no way to continue using the iPod as the headphone jack was blocked. I didn't realize this...and erronously thought this charger would extend the battery so I could continue using the device. Unfortunately, it took an hour for this charger to charge the ipod enough for me to use it...

The Kensington battery does seem to function as specified. But I really question the utility of this extender now. Most airports have stations where you can charge such devices now and if you really can't use the Touch with the extender plugged in then the real usefulness comes down to situations where you have no access to AC or USB based power.

I have shelved this charger - might put it up on one of those auction sites. I just don't have much use for it.

  2. I bought on sale for my now old iphone. It is great in an emergency. I'm on my 4th charge now, and it does not seem to be holding as much backup power as it did at first.

  3. While this battery is conveniently small, and easy to use, there are some show stopper issues for iPod Touch users.

    1. When it's plugged in, you don't have access to the audio port. If you're just surfing or checking your e-mail, this isn't an issue. If you want to use this pack while watching a movie, or listening to music...you're out of luck.

    2. It takes over 1 hour to recharge the internal iPod Touch battery with this pack. So, if you exhaust the internal battery watching movies (say on a coast-to-coast, or international flight), you'll be on the ground before you can watch any more if you're using this pack to recharge the iPod.

    3. It's a small pack. You get one recharge of the iPod Touch, and then not to 100%. This pack petered out at about 90-95% of the recharge.

I see no issue using this pack with an iPhone for telephone usage, but the same problems will arise for music and/or movies.

  4. I tested this charger on my iPhone(first iphone version when they just came out.)

I drained my iphone down to 10% warning and plugged in a fully-charger Kensington Battery. It took about 70 minutes until the charger's juice was gone and it powered my iPhone to about 50%. Surely enough, 3 hours later of constant texting, my iphone gave me the 10% business.

    The Good:

Truly Portable. Dimensions are 2.5 x 2 x 0.5 inches. (I'm not sure why at the time of this review, it shows dimensions as 5.2 x 6 x 1.5 units. I pondered why this was the case, and it turns out that these dimentions are in centimeters.) Dimensions blend in well with your iPhone: it doesn't stick out, but just extends the lenght of your iphone by 2 inches.

Charge and use your phone at same time: No need to wait til the power transfers.

Stylish: Yes, I said "stylish." Every time I plug this in, the other iPhone users turn their heads and wonder what my little attachment does. The brightly-lit blue energy bar really stands out and lets you charge in style.

Tiny charging retractible USB cable: While its 4 inches in closed position, its retractible up to 2 feet at full lenght. Its fully compatible with iphone's usb plug adapter, so you can charge your battery on the plug OR using computer's USB slot.

    The Bad:

For emergencies only. It would be nice if this portable charger had more juice capacity than 50% of the iPhone's battery. Because of this, I don't carry it as much and only take it with me for emergency purposes. Its a good thing to keep in your car's glove compartment or at home for those blackouts.

Bottom Line: Perfect for emergencies, but will leave you wishing for more juice in the long run.

  5. Wanted to confirm that this works with Iphone 3g just fine. You can keep using your Iphone and listening to music etc while this is attached (it puts it into charging mode like plugging it into a wall outlet). Hoping to use this for my plane travel this week will report on battery life.

Also, wanted to say that this seems to charge fine with my Belkin Iphone charger (the set where you get wall and car charger with usb plug ins on both) it's really nice because the wall charger has two usb outlets so you can charge both the battery and Iphone at the same time without a laptop etc.

  1. Instead of going to a store and spend >$30 for this type of cable, why not buy the same thing for $3 plus shipping (~$9 in total) and enjoy!

  2. This product works great and cost less than $8 (incl. shipping) - a tiny fraction of what the more popular brands cost. Arrived from Eforcity in a few business days.

  3. Inexpensive and picture looks great on Samsung DLP with DVI (no HDMI) Connected to PS3. Audio routed through RCA stereo plugs.

  4. So far I cannot tell any quality difference between this and the WAY over-priced brands. If it works? Don't fix it. Price can't be beat.

  5. Highly recommend this product if you are using this cable to connect your PC to a HDTV. I have mine connected from a PC running BFX 7900gs extreme GPU with a Sharp Aquos 46" LCDTV and have it set-up at 1920x1080 (1080P).

Also, I was expecting a cheaply made cable for the price I paid, however this was not the case.

As far as reliability goes, not sure at this point. Only had if for a week now.

5 comments about Belkin F3U134-10 USB Extension Cable (10-Feet).
  1. Always in need for a USB extension for some reason. This cable works as described.

  2. Just a simple extension cable for your USB device. It does exactly that with no fuss. Sturdy, as most Belkin products are, and reliable.

  3. Their isn't much you can say about a cord, but this one is well made, and it does what it is supposed to do. I have a keyboard, a Yamaha MM6 that I wanted to attach to my computer, so I can record through Cubase LE. I started tripping over the standard size cord, so I added this Belkin extension, and now it is safely tucked away. Sure beats having to replace the USB port in the computer from abuse. Belkin makes nice stuff, and this is one of those things that they make well. Highly recommended.

  4. Not much to say about a USB extension cable. I plugged my USB hub into it and even though the cable that connected the hub made the total run more than the maximum allowed 10 ft the connection still worked.

  5. Fantastic product. We used it to extend the distance from our headset to our various gaming consoles and computers. Absolutely no lag detected in transmission. Highly recommended!

5 comments about Belkin Sport Armband for iPod touch (Black/Gray).
  1. Just one complaint is that it barely fits around my bicep. I'm not the biggest guy in the world, but I do have larger biceps (sorry, i'm not the kind of guy who measures his biceps) - and this barely fits me. Otherwise, it's ok.

  2. This is a very helpful item, when you want to go and run, or do some exercises, but, its belt is very short, so if you have a big arm you will fill it like very tight. The company should do this item in different sizes.

  3. I purchased this item with my ipod touch and the edges of it started to come apart as soon as I put the ipod into it. The edges are glued together and the quality isn't so great. Maybe it was just this one that I purchased or maybe it because of the size of my arms. This item would be great if it was of better quality.

  4. Cons:
1.The band is not overly large as some others have stated. It barely makes my arm. If you are overweight or a big powerlifter look elsewhere.
2.I find the screen plastic too think to very easily change songs or, especially, change the volume.
    3. Although the picture looks like it would be a plastic like material it is a synthetic cloth that does absorb sweat. So after a while I expect this to begin to smell a bit rank without washing. I know it states it is neoprene in the description but I didn't know what that was.

    Pros:
    1. It holds the iPod in on my arm and does not slip or move.

  5. Bought for 16G ipod touch. Use for jogging and biking 5-6 days per week for 2 months now. Has held up great, no rips or wear noticed yet. Holds in place on arm great. Holds ipod great too. Key holder is nice touch. I have average arm size. Arm band is long enough to go around bulky sweatshirt sleeve if kept closer to elbow. Thought I would have issues with hole for earphones prying audio jack out of receptacle but has not been a problem. Touch screen and menu button work fine through plastic window.

Negatives: I stick my license in behind ipod just in case. One time license kept "climbing" out for some reason. Never happened again. Also, plastic window tends to peel any screen protectors off.

5 comments about Koss PortaPro Headphones with Case.
  1. Ear Buds are a disaster. I just discovered this. I am over 50 and figured my hearing was going (which to a certain degree it is of course). After increasing the ripping quality for my CDs and still having issues with hearing stuff I decided to look into ear phones as a possible problem.

They sure were...these are great for the gym. I also bought some Sanheisers (SP?) for twice the price and they are great also but too heavy for the gym. And too goofy looking even for me on a tread mill.

    I recommend this product.

  2. These headphones are impressive. The dynamic range is excellent, they are comfortable, and they fold neatly into a small leather pouch. The feature that allows you to adjust soft to firm for the ear pads is a bit tricky to learn to use, but this is a nit. Overall, highly recommended.

  3. Plain and simple these headphones rock I read a review on cnet about these headphones I ordered them the same day and wow this headphones are amazing the sound quality is great.

  4. Night and day difference between these and either of my old Sony headphones. Blows away Nano earbuds. Money well spent.

  5. The Koss PortaPro has wonderful stereo quality. Although the over head design looks like it can easily catch your hair, it hasn't caught mine once. The only downside is there is a lot of sound leakage and it hurts my ears after several hours if I don't put them on perfectly aligned.

5 comments about iHome IH9 Alarm Clock for iPod (Black).
  1. I purchased the IH9 after seeing a good magazine review. When hooked up to an iPod, it sounds spectacular. The sound is on par with any higher-end table radio or bookshelf stereo I've heard, such as the Bose.

However, the FM tuner leaves something to be desired. No matter which station I chose, no matter how strong or weak the signal, the audio was distorted. I adjusted the equalizer settings (the equalizer is a nice touch) as well as the 3D simulation and it didn't help. There was always some distortion, even at low volume levels, whether it was music or NPR.

It's clearly not a problem with the speakers because of the excellent iPod audio quality. I suspect an inexpensive FM tuner, or just a bad batch of FM tuners that wound up in my IH9.

I don't plan to keep the IH9, as much as I like it otherwise, because I listen to FM radio in a clock radio more than I'm likely to listen to my iPod Nano, and distorted sound is distracting. But if you're solely or primarily an iPod listener -- or don't care too much about FM radio quality -- this is a nicely designed and sounding unit.

  2. I have to admit that I was hesitant in buying an iHome because I've read so many negative reviews. The main thing I wanted was the brightness control on the LCD screen. That was the biggest thing for me. When I saw the the iHome 9 had it (and I think the iHome 8 does as well..) I decided to go for it.

I will admit, however, that the lowest brightness setting basically completely shuts off the backlighting of the LCD screen, and while that is perfect for sleeping, you can't see the time very well on the clock during the night. In fact, you can't see it at all in the dark. For me, however, it's better like that than really bright. The next brightest setting is still too bright for me. What I've been doing is putting it on the lowest setting at night, and then making it brighter when I wake up so that I can see it during the day. It's not hard to adjust the brightness setting, all you have to do is literally hit the dimmer button a few times and that's it.

Other than that, I LOVE this product. I bought it because of the alarm clock. I wanted to be able to wake up to my iPod. It was very easy to set up and it's very easy to use. Everything works beautifully! I woke up this morning on time to my iPod! There are two alarms, and as it says above, you can wake to the buzzer, the radio, the ipod, or a specific ipod playlist that you create yourself. It also comes with a remote control. It's very easy to move the iHome around so I've been using it in different rooms when I'm doing something and want a little background music from my iPod. It's great! It also of course charges your ipod while it is docked.

I love the sleek design of it too. I think it's a very attractive alarm clock.

Basically, I love this product, and I don't find the brightness of the LCD screen to be a problem, especially when you put it on the lowest setting which is basically no backlighting at all. The price of the item is a little steep, but I think it was worth it. I'm very pleased with my purchase and I love the iHome!

  3. I gave this to my husband for fathers day to replace a less expensive one that never worked properly. He LOVES it! After reading the instructions, he was able to create an iHome playlist that he can select to play either preselected or random tunes for wakeup. We both love the way it gently fades out for sleep and fades in for wakeup. Its a wonderful and a great value for the money.
I shopped alot of products before buying this and am extremely happy with this choice. My husband says its a fantastic gift....

  4. I bought one of these for my son, who has an iPod Nano. It looks and sounds great! You can wake up to an alarm, the radio, or your iPod. If you choose to wake to your iPod, you can create a special iHome playlist if you like. My son loves it!

However, I also purchased one of these for my husband, who has an iPhone. Big Mistake. I based my purchase decision on info I found on the iHome website which states, "The iHome iH9 is compatible with all the latest iPod models, and includes inserts for the 3rd generation Nano, iPod Touch and iPhone." But when I received his box in the mail, a big "red flag" went up when I saw that the outside of the box doesn't mention the iPhone at all. Before opening it, I researched online some more and found that you must dock the iPhone in "airplane mode", meaning that you'll miss every call. That's simply unacceptable, so I returned the iH9 (with no reimbursement of my shipping costs because I didn't buy it direct from Amazon) and bought the IP99 direct from iHome for a lot more money.

The upshot? This is a very good clock radio for your iPod, but don't get it for your iPhone.

  5. I really love my new iHome9. It has great sound, great sound options, and a very easy to use remote and clock. When I got my iHome, the time was a few minutes off of my other electronics, and it was very easy to reset. you click a total of two buttons. Plus, my remote works pretty well from across my large room, where my computer is. It says in the instructions not to use the iHome9 without an insert, but my iPod (nano, 2nd generation) doesn't fit any of the inserts, so I just use it without one. So far, I haven't had any problems with it. I really like this, and I would definetly advise you to buy one. Many of the other reviews say that their FM reception was bad, but mine is great. Maybe it's because I'm at the top of my house, but I get great reception on FM radio. I haven't tried AM radio, because I don't listen to it at all, but it comes with a 'special' AM reciever. All in all, I really like my iHome9, and I haven't spotted any problems with it yet. Hope this was helpful!
